e were still on our timeline and when we felt ready to get things moving throughout the night. He made sure our wedding party was aware of what was going on for grand entrance since my husband and I were outside finishing photos, and also made our matron/maids of honor and 2 best men feel really good before their speeches with an awesome pep talk. He was interactive with our guests on the dance floor while remaining professional and minding our requests for the evening , and we received tons of compliments on all of our music and how good his energy was. Conner talked to us many times before and kept in touch, they were by far our easiest vendor to work with. Fête should always keep them as a preferred vendor!

He was also a huge support for everyone giving speeches, and he even inspired an impromptu speech from the groom! We were so grateful that he also helped make sure the audio for all the speeches was recorded for us. We highly recommend Kyle from the Sound By Design team. He's not only a fantastic DJ but also an essential part of making our wedding a night to remember.

to extreme heat, they did not want to play outside for cocktail hour. SBD was right there ready to play all of the quartet versions of songs that we wanted. Ray not only worked with us to surprise our guests with Bucky Badger, but also worked with our parents to surprise us with a special wedding announcement clip from the Cubs game. Our guests were on the dance floor all night, which is exactly how we imagined our wedding! We HIGHLY recommend using SBD as your DJ!

t the night a bit underwhelming. While they did ask us for a playlist, we aren’t professional DJs, so we weren’t sure what should or shouldn’t be played at a wedding. We were surprised that Ryan played the songs in the exact order we listed them, as we didn’t realize we needed to organize the playlist for them to simply hit “next.” The songs were also played one after another without much mixing, which was disappointing. We felt the DJ could have done a better job reading the room and adjusting the playlist when it wasn’t resonating with the crowd, rather than relying on guests to go up and request changes to get people on the dance floor. Ryan’s assistant (whose name we didn’t get) helped release tables for dinner, but they were sending up only one table at a time. Since we had a buffet, it would have been more efficient to release tables from opposite ends of the room to keep the line moving. Lastly, we didn’t love that the contract included a required 15% tip, rather than allowing us to decide the tip amount based on the service provided.

make it happen. Mateo was an excellent event/project manager, making sure we kept up with the information and decisions they needed from us. Olivia was a fantastic DJ - she did a great job MCing the evening and her playlist was on point with all of our guidance and requests. We also appreciated that their setup and their MCing of the evening didn’t draw too much attention - their setup was perfect for the venue. It helped that they are the preferred DJ for the venue’s other events. We found their pricing and packaging very reasonable, especially for the excellent level of service. We added on a 360 Photo Booth not long before the wedding, and we still received a discount. They also offered additional rentals that were available. Although we didn’t need them, their design resources were extensive and I trust they would have been equally easy to work with. I would work with Sound by Design for future events, and I highly recommend them to any couple with a Milwaukee wedding.

Having everything in the app was super convenient and helpful when mapping out our music for our day. Our DJ also helped provide playlist suggestions on Spotify for us to reference, which was great. We had a final meeting with our lead DJ, Ryan, who was awesome. We came away from our final meeting feeling really good about the music for the day and he walked us through all the logistics and answered all of our questions. On wedding day, Ryan was the best! He was super professional but also really fun at the same time. He kept the energy up during the reception and knew what to play to keep the crowd on the dance floor. We can't recommend Sound By Design enough!

Only reason for 4 stars is because it was very difficult to get a hold of anyone from this DJ company to discuss questions prior to getting assigned our DJ 30 days before the big day. We were able to add playlists to the app as well that weren't already made for us (like "Guest Requests"). We had a final meeting with our lead DJ, Gavvin, who was great. We did a quick facetime call so that he could get to know us before the big day. He was able to cut songs to the certain times we wanted, fade songs into each other, and change things based on how the day went. We weren't entirely sure what we wanted to do for our Grand March and he pulled it together 30 minutes before dinner. Gavvin and his assistant, Allen, were fantastic throughout the night. They really stayed true to what we wanted for our music choices and had an awesome vibe! The contract we signed states that we had to tip the DJ at least 15% of the services so this is something to note. For our photobooth, they set up exactly where we asked them to and didn't require any questions from us. Our Classic Photobooth came with a backdrop, unlimited photos for 4 hours with print outs that guests could take home. The attendant also helped create a photobook (that was included with the service) that we were able to have as a keepsake! The photobooth was a hit and we ended up with about 400 pictures.
