I got married on July 21, 2018 at Pageo Lavender Farm in Turlock. Pageo required us to select a DJ for our wedding off of their preferred vendor list. After talking with a few different companies from the list, we chose Sound Express because of their style and understanding of our requests, price, and experience in the industry. About one month before the wedding, we spoke with the owner Todd on the phone to finalize our song selections and timeline for the day. On the wedding day, Todd arrived at the agreed upon time to set up for the ceremony. He dressed appropriately to what we had discussed on the phone and met with us and the bridal party before to introduce himself and give a rundown of how the timeline for the day would go. There were a couple hiccups throughout the night, but overall Todd executed everything smoothly and guests had a wonderful time! A DJ can make or break the vibe of your wedding day and we were happy to have Todd of Sound Express ‘host’ guests during our special day!
We were so excited to have the owner of sound express dj or wedding. He was kind, knowledgeable, and confident in how to entertain a wide variety of guest tastes. He was also responsible for coordinating the reception events and keeping the flow. Unfortunately, my husband and I were about 45 minutes late to the reception due to ceremony photos. Todd did the entrance we asked for then the rest of the night felt very rushed. Our parents weren't given a chance to say their toasts. All dames were back to back and guests began leaving right after dinner. Some asked when the music would start since Todd played Jazz all night. Them we did our cake cutting and someone finally stood up and asked for better music. Prior agreement had been made that all music would be censored. The first dance song repeated explitives and racial slurs. More of our guests left. By the time our bouquet and garter toss came along most guests had left out of bordom. We were disappointed in the quality of service we received after reading such great reviews and being told that our service would be completely different.
They showed up.;Do your research on your vendors! Go to the better business beaureu(?) and check them out! If we would have we could have saved about a grand! They didn't play anthing we wanted. The DJ kept asking me if he could play his type of music. We had no garter toss or bouquet toss. People we complaining about the DJ at the wedding (he played the same songs in a loop). We should have just made CD's of what we wanted it would have been way cheaper and we would have been much happier! The owner of the company was horrible. When I called with my complaint, his reply was what do you want me to do about it?! When we tried to negotiate a solution, he quit answering our calls, we had to block our numbers for him to answer!
