Sound Investments DJ Service was easy to work with. Kirk was prompt, well dressed, and professional. He made it easy to for us to concentrate on our day. He did a nice job with our entrance music to the wedding and for the wedding party entrance to the reception. He MC'ed the evening, played requested music, and kept people dancing.

Kirk was the perfect DJ for us! He went above and beyond to help us have everything the way we wanted, met with us several times before the wedding to go over the details and was super accommodating when we had to move our date a year forward because of the pandemic. He also has a great sense of humor and was an amazing MC! Thank you Kirk!!!!!

Using the website to select from the vast library of songs was fun and easy. He met with us early in the planning stages and also right before the wedding to make sure everything was set. During the reception the music sounded amazing and was the perfect volume. He encouraged our guests to be more involved, dance, and have fun. We met multiple times before our wedding to go over timeline, song selections and every other detail. Our daughter, the bride, loves all types of music and provided Kirk with many hours of songs from her various playlists. Guests' ages ranged was from 3 to 79, and Kirk had everyone up on the floor and dancing all night long. He readily played suggestions that the guests brought to him, and our daughter received many compliments on the range and appeal of the music - he knew just what to play, and when. The photo booth he provided was a huge hit with young and old alike. We had a wonderful experience with Kirk and Sound Investment DJ Service!

The good: Kirk got all of our ceremony music right and played good music prior to the wedding, during cocktail hour, and dinner. He played relatively good music for the reception as well. The bad: From the very beginning of our working relationship, Kirk spoke most directly to my husband and spoke over me, frequently. He, on more than one occasion, made jokes to my husband that they'd have to "take the bride's ideas into consideration," with an eye roll. As if my husband was the client, not the couple. On more than one occasion he even suggested that our taste in music was questionable (I'm a professional musician. So...) meanwhile he made suggestions for pre-ceremony music that were, at best, Muzak. So he either wasn't listening to us or doesn't know how to work with peoples' tastes. SO we ended up creating our own pre-ceremony playlist for him to use. We were planning our wedding from out of town so most of our meetings occurred over Zoom so I figured, maybe he just doesn't read that well over the internet. The week of the wedding we met in person and Kirk took diligent notes, so I felt a little less anxious. And despite his behavior towards me throughout the process, assured us he's very "pro-chick." So don't worry brides, he's enlightened. But, the day of the wedding, Kirk seemingly forgot all of the details he'd taken notes on. He made incorrect announcements throughout the night that my husband had to then rectify with the guests. He also griped and complained to our day-of coordinator, frequently. During the speeches, when my mother went up to speak, he saw how long her notes were and said "Oh my God" and rolled his eyes. She heard this and it hurt her. He looked bored and huffed during other speeches, which admittedly lasted a while. But we have a big family and no one else was complaining. During the reception, he frequently looked bored and checked out and his energy was flat, at best. We had the opportunity to add an hour to his time but chose not to. At the end of the night, he cornered my husband and demanded that he speak to him. My husband was distracted because, we had just gotten married and were dealing with shuttle issues. Kirk literally snapped in my husband's face and said "Dude you have to pay attention. I'm talking to you here." Frankly we were uninterested in what he had to say about what he would have done differently. Because what he thought he should have changed was way off base. He was rude as hell. Then, after we had left, he stuck around and asked the bar to give him drinks. Over all, if we could do it over I'd hire someone else. Kirk may have been great in his prime but I think he's exhausted and should probably retire.

Good and bad: My wife and I hired Kirk for our wedding. Kirk was very accommodating prior to the wedding to help us organize the music part. He gave us ideas for different types of music for the ceremony which was helpful. For the reception we selected a lot of our own music we wanted played. We had a lot of Spanish music, which we were concerned he didn’t have a lot of experience playing. He bought the songs that he didn’t have so we could play them the wedding day. Now the bad part. Because Kirk didn’t have a lot of knowledge w Spanish music, he didn’t know when to play certain songs to get the party dancing. I told Kirk, all I want is to make sure everyone dances all night and he unfortunately fell a little short there. My wife went up to him during the reception and asked him To change things up to get more people dancing but struggled. Finally the last hour he was able to pick it up a little and get people dancing. As a DJ, you have 2 main jobs (IMO) play music and make people dance. When there wasn’t many people dancing, you need to feel the crowd and know what it will take to get people dancing, Kirk couldn’t do that. I feel like Kirk is past him prime and struggled getting everyone hyped. We had multiple complaints on the dj from guest days after. Kirk is a nice guy and probably does a fine job w basic events. We are a younger couple and wanted the place jumping all night and it didn’t happen. If the crowd wasn’t dancing to a certain song, he would play the whole song instead of changing it up to get people to start dancing again. I’ve never DJ’ed before but I’ve been to many clubs and events and I know when a DJ is good at their craft, Kirk can play music, that’s it. My wife and I both agreed we think we should have found someone younger that has good energy and can adapt to any crowd to make them dance. We had a great wedding but one thing we would’ve changed is the DJ.

Sound Investment was the DJ at the wedding I went to and I had a great time. Kirk played great music and he was very entertaining. If I ever get married again, I think I will call Sound Investment!

Kirk was fantastic. He was extremely helpful in walking us through the process of selecting music, how important the flow of the evening is, and introduction of the wedding party. He made everything on our end feel effortless and the result was phenomenal. There are still guests and family members commenting on our music selection. We even had wait staff at our venue, who have seen hundreds of weddings with different djs, comment on how great our music and flow of the evening was. There were always people on the dance floor. We hired Kirk with Sound Investments for our wedding in July 2018. He was highly professional throughout the process of initial meetings, selecting songs, and helping arrange and recommend suggestions on the flow of the wedding. On our wedding day, Kirk was able to quickly adapt to some last minute changes and was always in tune with the mood of the guests with his playlist. Kirk can interact with a variety of guest’s personalities and keep the mood fun while still fun maintaining the schedule of events. Kirk helped make our wedding perfect! He was the DJ at my sister's wedding, and when it was my turn, I knew I wanted him to DJ ours as well! Kirk Michaels is wonderful! We did lots of research and we were having a difficult time finding someone that would meet our criteria: someone that could travel to another state, play both Greek & English music, create an uplit monogram, handle uplighting, provide us a photo booth with props, handle the ceremony AND be a total master of ceremonies...in ninety degree weather...during a holiday week...without charging us an arm and a leg. Kirk was our guy! Our wedding wouldn't have been half as awesome if he hadn't been placed in charge of those items. He is super easy going and flexible. We are so appreciative of his efforts. I personally have hired very well rated DJs in the area for multiple events but don't be fooled when you search Google for "wedding DJ," for example. A DJ doesn't set the tone for the event...a true master of ceremonies does. A lot of these "top rated" DJs will charge top prices to place top 40 songs all night...but they don't coordinate with vendors, personalize their interactions with guests or facilitate the evening. You'd be silly not to hire Sound Investment!

Kirk was our DJ for our wedding on September 7th. It was very easy deciding to book Kirk for the wedding day; meetings were fun, questions were answered easily and deciding songs and being able to request them were simple. He also did our ceremony music and came to the rehearsal so that way, he knew certain cues and made sure timing was perfect. He did SPECTACULAR with the reception; my friends and co-workers still talk about him to this day. He did amazing at making sure events were balanced and that everyone had a good time. We highly recommend Kirk for your wedding event.

Kirk Michaels is the man. We met Kirk at a bridal show and he was able to quote us what we felt was a very reasonable quote for uplighting, photobooth, dj for ceremony and reception, as well as a personalized uplighted monogram. We had a Greek American wedding in another state about 2.5 hours away. When we met with him to sign the contract, he was true to his word and we signed for the same amount- half the price we'd been quoted by other DJs who also asked we pay for mileage, gas, lodging, etc. Kirk was always responsive via email or text. We met with him twice more. He did his homework for sure...created a custom uplit logo for us which was also utilized on our photo strip for the booth, he picked up some extra photo booth props that went with our theme and even did a site survey without charging us for anything extra. We found this remarkable since he was pretty much a one man show. He showed us what the uplighting, etc. looked like before the wedding to ensure we were all on the same page. He was able to obtain a serious amount of detail about our family and friends in a short meeting. We didn't realize what he was up to until the night of our wedding when he did an indescribably awesome job using those details to get everyone out on the dance floor and to keep them there. We could have used an extra hour of dancing...and this coming from a group that is typically shy! At the end of the night, he handed us a USB with all our Greek and English music, as well as all the photos from the photobooth and some add ons...including a group shot he facilitated of everyone out on the dance floor! I've worked with very popular local DJs in the very recent past and I can say with confidence that there is a huge difference between a DJ and a true master of ceremonies. Don't expect a great party if you hire a DJ that will play music but doesn't know how to speak to or work a crowd. Expect a great party if you hire Kirk Michaels, the ultimate MC, (master of ceremonies) to handle your event. We've had absolute rave reviews from all our guests and you will, too! Thanks, Kirk!

DJ Kirk Michaels was outstanding. The dance floor was hopping the entire wedding. Kirk took the time to get to know what the bride and groom wanted (and didn't want!) for music and the "traditional" wedding moments. He offered to join us for the rehearsal dinner since he also did the music for the wedding ceremony. He is a very classy DJ with an excellent selection of music and he really knows how to keep the party going for five hours (6 including the ceremony) No small task. All of the family and guests commented on what a great time they had, they never danced so much! I highly recommend DJ Kirk Michaels.

We had such a great wedding with Kirk as our MC/DJ! Kirk did a fantastic job with the flow of the evening and keeping us on time. He really understood our vision and helped it come to life. Kirk Michaels was very creative, fast to respond, and has great ideas! We had a great time planning the wedding with his help. Everything was wonderful! Our only issue was that we needed a final meeting and were given short notice which was quite stressful, but everything went well, we were pleased with both music and photo booth.

Kirk recently DJed our wedding at Tarrywile Mansion. We had several meetings and he made a big effort to get to know us. During the wedding he helped keep us on time and our guests entertained. The music he played was a mix of specific songs we requested & crowd favorites. He even found an acoustic version of our first dance song that we loved so much. Our guests had a great time and it was hugely due to Kirk's expertise and dedication to making sure each & every wedding is a success.

We contacted Sound Investment after seeing them on our venues preferred vendor list. After speaking with Kirk it was very obvious that he knew what he was doing. Planning a wedding out of state is no easy task & Kirk's knowledge of the venue made him an ideal DJ for us. We told him we wanted to have lawn games during cocktail hour & he quickly suggested several setup options for the music. We signed our contract after a few phone conversations. About a year later, we met with Kirk in person to talk through our details. He asked a ton of questions to better get to know us, our guests, and understand the vibe we wanted for our wedding. My husband is very into music and had a solid vision for the type of music and flow he wanted. He & Kirk talked about bands & songs that would help accomplish our wedding goals. You could tell Kirk really knows his music & how to run a wedding! He even obtained a few rare songs for our ceremony and an acoustic live version of our first dance song! The day of the wedding he helped organize our parents and bridal party for the ceremony & introductions. Throughout the night he made it his mission to keep our timeline moving & not have any lulls or downtime for our guests to get bored. He kept everyone dancing throughout the night & played a fantastic set. Our guests had an amazing night & we truly appreciate Kirk's efforts to make sure the day went as smooth as it possibly could. Numerous people have said they hadn't danced that much at a wedding before! We would recommend Kirk to others.

Kirk was a GREAT help to making our wedding a success. Leading up to the wedding, we had a number of very particular musical requests, and when we gave him a list of 100 songs(a third of which he wasn't entirely familiar with), We were very impressed when he came back to us having investigated each one and organized them together into a wonderful playlist coordinated with our plan for the day. Even further, when we started to have our schedule thrown completely off, Kirk easily rolled with the punches, and even helped advise us on how to best move the party forward and keep our guests happy. Even near the end when we were planning to extend the reception an extra 30 minutes to an hour, he consulted with us and showed us that the party was actually fading and we would be better off saving our money that we would have to spend on overtime for all the hired staff (himself included). Kirk was instrumental in managing the ambiance of our wedding and reception and we will forever be greatful to him.

Kirk Michaels of Sound Investment makes certain that his company lives up the name he has given it. Not only does he ensure that his clients get a lot of bang for their buck, but he is truly invested in your event succeeding. He spent a lot of time and energy making certain that he understood our wedding - the traditions we wanted to incorporate, the music we wanted to include, and the tenor of wedding. He was patient when my fiancé and I seemed undecided about elements of the wedding and offered examples of what others had done, assuring us that we had options and we couldn't really go wrong. Kirk was particularly considerate of the fact that we were planning the wedding out-of-state. Kirk spoke with us on the phone and met with us in person several times. He remained flexible when our plans (and budget) changed. His knowledge of the venue (because he has worked so many events in the area) made him an asset as we tried to create floor plan that maximize our dance floor. On the day of the event, he ensured the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing seamlessly flowed. He played the music that we selected, which included going out of the way to particular versions of New Orleans jazz songs. And Kirk knew when to call the party. This (tipsy) bride wanted the event to go on an extra hour, but Kirk (against the interest of filling his pockets) knew we should pack up on time. Kirk was organized, courteous, and thoughtful and he knows how to work a crowd. I'd recommend him and Sound Investment to anyone.

Kirk was fantastic! He was so helpful in the planning process, which made the music part of our wedding stress-free. He then played a great mix of music that kept the people on the dance floor and made the reception so much fun! Friends and relatives are STILL telling us 6 weeks later that they can't remember the last time they did that much dancing and had that much fun at a wedding. He also included some personalized surprises which were very much appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend Sound Investment - they definitely lived up to their name!

My wife and I were married on December 30th of last year. I was in charge of very little, however, my wife-to-be allowed me to be responsible for the entertainment. Some time before our wedding, Immaculate High School celebrated its 50th anniversary and my sister was at the Saturday night dance held that weekend. She raved about the DJ, saying that he was great and that she never left the dance floor. The DJ was Kirk from Sound Investment. I put in the call and it was perfection from start to finish. Kirk met with us a couple of times and after all was said and done, I realized why this was important. I had some very specific ideas of how I wanted to music to go and if there is such a thing as a Groom-zilla...I was it. Kirk listened and executed and never got exasperated, at least as far as I could tell. He asked very specific questions about our particular story and he was able to work that information into the evening. He also some details about the wedding party and he added some personal touches to the introductions that I thought were amazing. Deirdre and I recommend Sound Investment DJ service whole heartedly and without reservation! 5 stars...!

We were so happy with the services provided by Sound Investment for our wedding in August... Kirk did an amazing job of getting to know us and of reading our very mixed crowd of wedding guests to get everyone up and dancing. The music is such an important part of the entire day, and I couldn't have asked for anything better or more in tune for the vibe that we wanted to create. Thank you so much, again, for making our celebration as fun and joyful as we had hoped it would be!

Kirk was wonderful! Not only was his price very affordable, he kept everyone on the dance floor throughout the evening. Would definitely recommend!

Bill did a GREAT job at our wedding! He kept the guests dancing all night and was very interactive with them. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ!
