We booked Sound River Studios for our wedding of 140 guests in early June after looking for a reasonably-priced, raw open space in the NYC area. We were immediately impressed by the large venue, with a beautiful backdrop of the NYC skyline right by the water as well as the supreme competence of Una who knew every detail of the venue and was extremely responsive to any questions we may have had. Our vision for our wedding was to have a chinese-american style banquet and Sound River Studios was the perfect venue for just that. The raw open space allows for creativity and versatility. We were able to plan the wedding just the way we wanted it, and Una was very helpful in ensuring our day went smoothly working with our vendors and wedding planners. We also booked the open-bar with Sound River Studios and had the amazing pleasure of working with Tijana. We were so impressed with the open-bar; the drinks were phenomenal, and service was top-notch. All our guests were so impressed with the bar and we heard so many amazing things about the bartenders as well! We also booked the bridal suite for us to have our traditional tea ceremony prior to our ceremony and for getting ready. It was spacious, and just overall perfect for the bridal party & family. We have been getting non-stop compliments from our friends and family about how beautiful the wedding was and the amazing views of the NYC skyline (especially as the sun sets!) Can’t thank the team from SRS enough!! Our wedding was perfect!! Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I got married a couple weeks ago and honestly couldn’t have been happier with choosing Sound River Studios as our venue. The space itself allowed us to build out our dream wedding, and the location set it all over the top. We had a nice misty night which accentuated the lights of the NYC skyline and added a great atmosphere to being on the East River. Una and the team were incredible and made sure our day went exactly as planned. I couldn’t recommend SRS enough!

We looked long and hard for the perfect backdrop to our NYC wedding and it was obvious that Sound River Studios was the right choice from the moment we saw that gorgeous skyline view. Cocktail hour on that patio was magical. And our guests couldn't stop raving about how cool the space was. We went pretty basic with the decorations -- just a disco ball, some string lights, and some small flower arrangements -- and the place looked stunning. Hiring Una, the venue's manager, to be our wedding planner and day of coordinator, was another excellent decision. She was organized, calm, and collected, and gave us invaluable advice about which vendors to choose and how to plan our dream event. She did her best to work with our modest budget and kept focused on what we wanted. She and her staff kept the wedding running smoothly on the day of so we could focus on just enjoying ourselves and celebrating with loved ones. Honestly, if you're looking for a very "New York" wedding venue with outdoor space like we were, just stop looking and go with SRS and Una. You won't be disappointed.

Many of our guests told us this was the classiest event they had ever been to - SRS is a beautiful space with gorgeous views. We loved that there were indoor and outdoor areas for our guests to enjoy, there was ample dining space, and a dance floor. The SRS team was really wonderful: Responsive, organized, friendly, helpful, flexible, creative, and made it a seamless event. We had THE BEST time there. 10/10, it couldn't have been better.

Amazing venue and great hosts to work with. We held a 200 person wedding here and it was spectacular. The space really allows you to be creative and design the wedding that you want, its a blank canvas with NYC as your backdrop. What more can you ask for? Una and her team were amazing as well and worked hand in hand with our wedding planner to make our day flawless.

From the first time my husband and I visited SRS we absolutely loved the space. We are both born and raised in Queens and wanted to get married somewhere that really felt like the both of us and is a reflection of our love for Queens and for this city. Una is the venue coordinator and she is fantastic. This being a raw space venue, you need someone who knows the ins and outs of planning an event in this setting. She guided us the whole way throughout the process and was instrumental in coordinating all of our vendors on the day of our wedding. This space is perfect for someone who wants their wedding or event to be unique and tailored to you and your partners tastes. Our wedding day was absolutely amazing thanks to all of our vendors and the SRS staff. All of our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the space is and how much they loved the view. We would absolutely have our wedding reception here again and would recommend this space to anyone.

We got married in the fall at Sound River Studios and it was an amazing venue - it leaves so much opportunity for the couple to personalize and make it however they want and we really leaned into that! The staff was great. The views were amazing, and we could not be happier with how it all turned out. The public pier next to it is also a huge bonus! It was great to bring people from out of town who wanted to see the city skyline. Thank you :)

We got married at Sound River Studios in August 2022, and it was truly the most beautiful and perfect venue for us. Una is an accommodating and professional venue manager. While you have to book everything separately into this blank canvas of miracle space, you won't be restricted to a list of vendors – however, Una is happy to share info on companies who have worked (and impressed) at the venue before. What I particularly appreciated was her honesty in providing advice and her open-minded approach to any ideas we'd bring forward. We ultimately went with the majority of her recommendations, and I have to say, being surrounded by a team that knew each other and the venue made all the difference. The space itself is incredible. The indoor/outdoor setting is ideal and offers plenty of flexibility to adapt to weather and or guestlist fluctuations. The view is one-of-a-kind. Located right at the East River you get uninterrupted views of the skyline, both during the day- and nighttime. And the breeze from the offer is a very welcome refreshment during hot summer months. We had our wedding last month at Sound River Studios and had the most wonderful experience! Una helped us every step of the way to plan the perfect wedding. She was super responsive and attentive to our needs and offered great ideas and suggestions. The venue has a gorgeous view, our guests were in awe! You are able to customize the space however you like, which is what we loved about it. This venue space was INCREDIBLE!!! You truly can't beat the view, the natural light and air that flows through and the private deck right on the water. I was very nervous with all the work and planning but Una was incredible and helped plan the ENTIRE way. I am so grateful for all her help and recommendations. We were thrilled with how our wedding came together at SRS -- the venue is beautiful and airy and the outdoor area was essential, especially in considering having a wedding during the pandemic. The view of the city is incredible and even wows New Yorkers on top of our friends and family from out of town. Everyone at SRS was extremely helpful in facilitating our vision and have had a lot of experience in making beautiful weddings happen every week! You are basically renting a blank canvas to create your own vision, so just a caveat that you will need to spend on decor and lighting. We are artists, so being able to create a unique setting was important to us. We are very happy with our decision to have our wedding at SRS!

Sound River Studios was an amazing venue to host our wedding. We originally looked at the space in 2019 and fell in love. When we had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 2022, we were so happy we were still able have it at Sound River Studios and it could not have been more perfect. The skyline views are amazing and our guests could not stop talking about the view (or taking beautiful photos). This venue gives you a lot of flexibility to create the look and feel that you want. Una, the manager of the venue, is so knowledgeable and helpful and is able to recommend other great vendors to help you achieve that vision. We are so happy we had our wedding there and would highly recommend!

SRS made our day more perfect than we ever imagined it could be. We live in Astoria and frequented Anable Basin (the neighboring bar). We "jokingly," said, "We have to get married here (as in Anable Basin). Little did we know that there was the MOST AMAZING event venue right next door. Sound River Studios and Una made our day a dream -- something out of a storybook. The venue alone, just for photo purposes, is STUNNING. The views are so unmatched that you almost don't need a professional photographer -- literally, every phone photo looks like something that could be put in a magazine. Aside from how picturesque the venue is, Una and the SRS staff are a well-oiled machine. Listen to them, trust them, and give your most precious day over to them -- you won't regret it!

Sound River Studios is a hidden gem. I cannot gush enough about this venue and neither could our guests! My husband and I had our wedding there on November 7, 2021 and could not be happier with the space and the staff! Trust me when I say, book Sound River Studios for your event. To elaborate, SRS is privy to the most breathtaking view of Manhattan. You really feel like you are getting up close and personal with the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the skyline in general. Then, there is the venue itself. It is quite stunning with its all white industrial aesthetic and grand size. As you walk in, you are lured by the columns throughout and cannot help but gape at the incredibly high ceilings. It’s a blank slate waiting to be transformed but can also hold it’s own as a crisp beautiful hall. Sound River Studios really is the most versatile venue. The main floor includes a long entrance hallway, bathrooms, and large kitchen space. The second floor has a spacious green room/bridal suite with a full bathroom and kitchenette. The windows in the suite overlook the front entrance; which are perfect for catching a sneak peek of your guests, or your significant other, as they arrive. We were thrilled to use this space for ease of keeping our things, hair & makeup, lunch, and not having to travel to the venue from our “getting ready spot”. The SRS staff is way above par. Una, in particular, is the most passionate, the most caring, and the most professional. She does everything in her power to make sure your event goes off with out a hitch. She even goes the extra mile to make you feel like family. Una’s excitement for you is clear from the moment you meet her. The venue also offers the option to use the LIC pier to extend your event (pending city permit approval). Luckily we were able to utilize the pier for our wedding ceremony, the outdoor venue space for the cocktail hour, and the hall for our reception. The weather was perfect for this, however, if the weather had turned, the venue provided the chance for easy backup options that were equally stunning to our original plan. If you’re looking for an awesome vendors list, Sound River Studios’ recommended vendors list is top notch. We ended up contracting many vendors on their list. Our wedding was absolutely magical. Sound River Studios is definitely to thank for that. Book SRS!

We knew as soon as we walked into Sound River Studios that it was the place we’d get married. The space itself is beautiful and impressive with an amazing view of the NYC skyline. We loved that we could completely customize every detail of the wedding by working with vendors of our choice to truly make it unique (an experience our guests echoed). In addition to the space, Una and team are extremely professional - great creative collaborators, and made things as easy as possible when we had to shift wedding dates due to COVID (I’ve heard horror stories from other venues). We highly recommend SRS - as one of our guests said, it’s the perfect place for a New York City wedding.

We got married 12/4/2021. We wanted a venue for our wedding that was unique and customizable, and after looking around many places in the NYC area, nothing came close to Sound River Studios. The whole place is a canvas to put together your own vision with the wildly creative and talented people in the NY area. To facilitate this Una did an incredible job of helping us get started with recommendations, tips, and specific recommendations about the space. She also was there at each step from the walkthrough to vendor suggestions to the day of to help make sure everything came together. The whole process itself was very smooth, I think the only one concern I remember was making sure the sound came through in the large space, but the DJ was able to hook things up, and in the end everyone went wild on the dance floor. The event itself was absolutely amazing. The outdoor space overlooking the city is just a completely one of a kind experience and even in the winter blew away our guests. Everything comes out incredible in the pictures and they really look amazing in front of the skyline. The venue had such amazing components such as the long tables across the room, and the columns which are just stunning in the light. We were able to transform the white space into something personal and welcoming, and just really stunningly beautiful. The highest praise I can give to Sound River Studio is that it is literally one of a kind. There is nowhere else that you can throw a wedding like this in NYC where you can decorate it, arrange it, and throw it exactly as you want, and to your aesthetic taste. And the people there get that, and do everything they can to help you out in the process.

I got engaged in 2019, and planned a whole wedding with Sound River for October 2020- of course, I had to push it a whole year! Sound River was extremely accommodative in pushing our date a full year, and helped ease a lot of our stress. Una, the venue coordinator, is an absolute gem! She is extremely organized, warm, and easy to work with. Our wedding celebration ended up being an absolute blast, and everyone kept commenting how magical the venue was with the NYC sky line. I would recommend Sound River to any friend who is looking to soak up NYC’s beautiful sky line in a venue that can be a blank canvas for whatever style you want to go for! We had our wedding at Sound River Studios last month and it was truly a dream. The view is not to be believed! The space is humongous, and all my guests felt safe during this tumultuous time, which was really important to us. Una and the Sound River team are absolutely wonderful to work with. Would have my wedding here 1000 times over!

During the venue search, we probably looked at around 15 different places. Sound River Studios was the final place that we checked out and we fell in love with the space immediately. The view of the city skyline is spectacular. It looks amazing during the day and continues to look better as the sun goes down. It's the perfect backdrop for pictures. They have their own private dock in their outdoor area which you can use. We did not end up using it but we did strongly consider making a grand entrance by boat haha. The inside is an empty space for you to design whatever look you want. We especially loved the high ceiling and natural light. Lastly, we worked with Una throughout the process. We originally planned to have our wedding in 2020 but had to postpone due to the pandemic. Una was very helpful making sure the transition to the new date was smooth. No issues with communication whatsoever. So happy that we decided to go with Sound River Studios!

We just got married at Sound River Studios on May 1st, 2021. This was the best decision we have ever made. We picked Sound River back in 2019 when we were originally planning our wedding. Then the pandemic hit and Una from the management team was able to guide us and stick with us through 3 postponed wedding dates. We could not have had our dream wedding if it was not for all the help we received from Una at Sound River and we absolutely loved the way our wedding turned out when we were finally able to have our wedding. If you are looking for a venue with a WOW factor, this is the VENUE for you!!!!!! The Sound River Studios team is so helpful and the location is jaw dropping. Our guest could not have been more excited to come to take pictures and have the party of our lives. Between the view and the open space. This is the perfect "modern/warehouse" location for your wedding if you are not interested in the catering hall vibe. I cannot wait to see our professional pictures because even the photos from our guests iPhones were amazing. This venue is spectacular, Highly recommend.

We just got married at Sound River Studios one month ago and every day I wish we were doing it again! Una and Steve were incredibly helpful and always made themselves available when it was convenient for us. The space itself is a blank canvas which was definitely daunting for me, but we were able to create a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and reception while keeping things relatively simple. There is so much opportunity for creativity in a space like SRS! Our guests were so enthusiastic about how they loved the space and how it was so different than many of the weddings they've been to. We tented the outdoor area so that our guests could spend time there, and even though it was quite cold, many of them hung out taking in the view! My husband and I live in the neighborhood, so having our wedding at Sound River felt very "us", and like a way to share our life together with all of our guests (many from out of town). We just loved it!

On our search, no other venue compared to what Sound River offered - beautiful high ceilings, simple architectural details, an outdoor area offering a view of NYC. Una and Steve were always an email or a phone call away and helped us with absolutely everything! We were nervous about the "DIY wedding" but they put it all to ease. We were so thrilled with our experience, from start to finish. While we worked with both Una and Steve, Steve was our primary contact, and he was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of our questions, responded to all of our e-mails immediately, and was flexible in accommodating all of our needs. Everything on our wedding day came together beautifully. Our guests could not stop talking about the incredible view, and how much space there was to move around. One of the unique things about planning an event at Sound River Studios is it truly is a raw, beautiful blank slate, so you can really tailor it and make it your own. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue with character, class, and wow-factor. There is really no other venue in New York City quite like Sound River Studios.

We had our wedding at Sound River Studios on 11/3/2018 and we couldn't be happier with it. All night and ever since, we have been hearing about what a special venue it was. Truly, the view and location cannot be beat. We both have very large families and it was a challenge to find a space in NYC that we actually liked but was spacious enough to accommodate everyone we wanted to invite and as soon as we saw it, we knew that SRS was it. Moreover, although they definitely know what they're doing and have many events a month there, we never felt like we were just another wedding. Una gave us individualized attention and felt like our friend by the time the wedding day came. On the day, she helped us from start to finish and we really couldn't have done it without her. We wanted our wedding day to be personal and unique to us and Sound River Studios allowed us to do that and within our budget - it is truly a hidden gem for NYC weddings and I absolutely can't recommend it enough.

Sound River Studios was the perfect venue for our wedding. The backdrop of the city is beyond stunning. The space itself is remarkable- the high ceilings and columns make the space feel very open and gives it a very sleek and clean look. You don't really need to do much to the space as it is so beautiful on its own. Our guests cannot stop talking about the space and the view- it really is quite beautiful. AND to top it all off, Una was a dream! She was so helpful and made the whole stressful process more manageable and fun. She has contacts and connected us with vendors that helped create a perfect celebration. We met Steve the day of the wedding and found him to be just as great as Una.

We recently got married at Sound River Studios and it could not have been any more perfect. The space was absolutely stunning and that amazing skyline view just got more and more beautiful as the night went on. Most of our guests were international visitors and were completely blown away. They've not stopped talking about it since. They couldn't believe that a place like it existed in New York. The team at Sound River were incredibly helpful and accommodating in the lead up and on the day. One extra note: We hired a New York Water Taxi to pick up all of our guests and deliver them to the pier and it was the most exciting way to arrive.

The venue is absolutely beautiful. Our guests at our anniversary party were dazzled by the amazingly high ceilings and the incredible views of New York City. We were able to work with all of our favorite vendors which made for an incredible party!

It’s been over two years since we had our wedding here, but the memories of that day are still vivid and amazing. The staff involved, planning and also on the day-of, were absolutely incredible. As the possibilities are endless in this space (but our budget was not), I trusted the recommendations they made, and could not be happier about the result. Our guests were totally blown away by this hidden gem. They especially commented (and still do) on the spectacular skyline backdrop, quality and variety of the food and overall atmosphere of the venue. I recently had the opportunity of catering a beautiful wedding at this incredible venue. Sound River Studios is a spacious and beautiful waterfront warehouse with a great sun exposure. This venue has many unique features including: a private dock and yacht service, 30-foot-high ceilings, rustic and elegant touches, and stunning skyline views of the East River and Midtown Manhattan. The entire facility is bright, well maintained, and clean. There is also a great kitchen space, outdoor area and a spacious entrance. I can go on forever talking about this space; however I have to talk about one of the most important aspects of SRS: the management team! Una and Steve are sweet, professional, welcoming, resourceful and always ready to assist. They made me feel right at home and I am sure that they will do the same for you. I cant wait to go back and work at this place again!

We were so lucky to have our wedding celebration at this gorgeous, unique space. Two weeks later we are still hearing from our guests that the beauty of the huge, open loft and the majesty of the sunset over the Manhattan skyline made the event unforgettable. The soaring ceilings and light-filled, industrial white warehouse space steal the show, so we were able to keep our decorations elegant, minimal and inexpensive. Una, the space's incredible event planner, suggested one long table down the middle of the space for our 75 or so guests. The simplicity of the table and elegant centerpieces that Una sourced designed made a huge visual statement. I can't say enough about how helpful Una was. We planned our event on very short noticed and she was completely unfazed, able to design and coordinate all of the party essentials within a couple of weeks. She kept the event on track, setting up the tables and place settings, and thinking of small things that I never would have but that made the day special, like preparing for the champagne toast and reminding me to tell guests to take home the beautiful centerpieces. In the days leading up to the celebration she accommodated last-minute changes to the chair and table rental order when our guest number changed, Through it all she never seemed hurried or frazzled. Oona is someone you want helping you plan your event!
