Sound Society Band

Sound Society was phenomenal, they are so fun and easy to work with! I only wish we had a longer wedding to be able to listen and party with them more! We got unbelievable compliments, even from some of our guests who are "not band people." Highly recommend working with these lovely and talented professionals!

So fun, so professional, so easy to work with and their music/vocals are beyond incredible. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them, they definitely kept the party going all night and our guests (even the non-dancers) on the dance floor--besides marrying my husband, they were the absolute highlight of the evening! Our producer Hannah was so incredible to work with and made a potentially stressful process incredibly easy. They even stepped in last minute to provide sound services for our ceremony when we found out last minute that our venue did not have them. Book them, you will be so happy you did!!

Hiring Sound Society was probably the aspect of our wedding I was most excited about - and they did not disappoint. Without question the best decision we made. We had a ton of musicians at our wedding, and they couldn't stop talking about how amazing Sound Society was! I went into the planning process skeptical of finding a good band and expecting we'd ultimately go with a DJ. Most of the videos I saw online of other groups were pretty mediocre, but SS's videos were a totally different class, and that made me intrigued. They invited us to a showcase in NYC to watch them do a 30 minute set, and they blew us out of the water. If you're on the fence, see if they have any showcases coming up. There's no substitute for watching a group live. And be prepared to Dance to the Music!

Run do not walk to book Sound Society. Hannah was so patient and amazing with us through the whole process of deciding to book through wedding day. We signed for a 9 piece band with them and strings duet for the ceremony and it made our entire wedding- we could not imagine going with anyone else. Every musician and singer was BEYOND incredible- from playing Motown to blink 182- their playlist was phenomenal. We’re still getting compliments about the band and we had everyone dancing straight through from 7 to 10. I cannot say enough positive things about them. They were perfect.

This band was amazing. From the prep meetings to the actual day - everything was perfect. They were a massive hit - our whole wedding was asking us how we found them. The cocktail hour trio and the full band were both incredible. They're so good that sometimes you forget you're hearing a wedding band and not the original artist. They were extremely receptive to all of our requests and Hannah is an awesome leader to help you plan and feel confident in your day of music and schedule. Truly amazing!!! If you are interested in hearing them, they play showcases where you can catch them live before you make a decision - that's where we found them ourselves.

Sound Society Band was 90% of the reason our wedding was so incredible! Our guests could not stop raving about how they were the best band they’d ever seen at a wedding, they kept the dance floor packed all night, and they made the whole night a blast! We first saw Sound Society at a showcase in NYC and in the first 30 seconds of their first song, we knew we had to book them. Their performance is so crisp, the vocalists are amazing, and they keep the energy high throughout every moment of their performance. Working with Hannah and the team leading up to the wedding was super smooth as well. Hannah provided great recommendations, assured us they would handle our timelines once the reception started the day of the wedding, and even accommodated special requests. I only wish we had another big event coming up so we could book them again. Cannot recommend them highly enough!!

My wife and I had Sound Society perform at our wedding last week and we were incredibly happy with how they performed and the show they put together. Simply put, they sound amazing and are just top notch performers. Prior to the wedding, Hannah was in constant touch with my wife. She helped alleviate all concerns, organized a song list, and stayed in constant contact. The day of the wedding, our venue dropped the ball, but the band were still incredibly helpful in keeping this organized and timely. They learned a song for the mother - son dance and were accommodating in every way. I couldn't recommend them more.

Sound Society is INCREDIBLE!!! Leading up to our wedding Hannah was super helpful with all of the planning including understanding the type of music we like as well as creating a timeline for the wedding. We were initially unsure about our plan for the ceremony music, and Sound Society was really flexible, giving us multiple options and plenty of time to choose what would be best for our wedding. The day of, the band could not have been better!! We had SO much fun during the celebration! When our guests talk to us about the event overall, they definitely mention Sound Society as a highlight :)

My husband and I went to a showcase to see a different band and were super disappointed. We didn’t realize there was a second band playing and grabbed our check. As we were waiting for our check, sound society came on and we were beyond impressed. My fiancé and I were dancing in our chairs while they performed. We stayed for the whole show case and booked them that night. Hannah and her team were super helpful throughout the whole planning process. As for the night of, I am still hearing reviews of our band! They were absolutely wonderful. Thank you sound society!

Hannah and the Sound Society team made our wedding the most perfect night for not only us, but all of our guests! Leading up to the wedding, the entire team was so easy to work with. Hannah worked through all of the questions that we had and was so supportive. The process of sharing music we did or did not want to play was seamless. We even had the added curveball of wanting Greek music played and they were able to accommodate. Since the wedding, everyone has said how much they loved the band more than anything else. We could not recommend Sound Society more!!!

We 100% would recommend Sound Society for anyone looking for a wedding band that will keep the entire crowd on their feet all night! The talent and energy they brought to our wedding was incredible. We had an atypical Halloween wedding with some strange requests and Sound Society was the perfect fit. They accommodated our special requests, ended up wearing costumes for most of the night, and even performed a dance to "Thriller" in the middle of the dance floor. 10/10!

This band is amazing. From the pre-planning stages to the communication all the way up to the wedding, Sound Society was so professional and attentive. Hannah is a rockstar!! It’s been a week since our wedding and everyone is still talking about the band. Throughout the whole night of our wedding, everyone was on the dance floor, jamming out. They covered any and everything we wanted, motown to disco to 2000s pop to Latin. Sound Society is a one of kind wedding band. They love to make the night personalized to your needs. They MCed our night and did the intros and everything was on point and flowed so smoothly. They played a special song live during our cake cut and brought the house down the whole night. What a way to ring in the new year and wouldn’t have wanted any other band. About 5 of our friends are engaged now and after our NYE wedding they were begging the band for business cards. This band is a 10/10, high energy & fun time!!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST HIRE! Everyone who attended our wedding the first thing they say to us is "THE BAND! That was incredible!!!" We worked with Hannah from Sound Society Band and her upbeat and positive energy is infectious. Hannah's knowledge and experience on how to read a room and what music gets the crowd going was on point. We had about 170 friends and family attend our reception at the Central Park Boathouse (sniffle just before it closes). Sound Society Band's talent level is through the roof and you could not find a better wedding band or performer - even in NYC. All the singers and musicians were incredible from the ceremony strings, jazz music cocktail hour and full band during the reception. We highly recommend hiring the full horn section too. If there is anything you do first in planning your wedding after an engagement is book this band as soon as possible...they are that good!

Sound Society was one of the best parts of our wedding. The band absolutely killed it at our reception and had the dance floor full the whole night. They were so energetic and fun and incredibly talented - we got tons of compliments from our guests on the band. As a wedding planner, I am always looking for bands that have great sound, well-priced, and high energy, and Sound Society is just that! I worked with the crew this past September and the dance floor was packed the entire evening. They knew how to read a room and play music accordingly, and always strived to give the bride and groom the sound and music they were looking for. Can't recommend them enough, and will definitely be recommending them for future couples I work with!

Hands down the best wedding band you’ll ever hear! The entire night Hannah, the band leader, and the band had everyone on their feet dancing! Every day since the wedding we get a message from a guest saying how unbelievable the band was! Not only is Hannah amazing to work with leading up to your event, but the band members all make sure their schedules worked and one member even rearranged another gig to be there for us! They ensured we got the vocalists we heard during the showcase, so you 100% get who you booked, which is HUGE! Sound Society hands down made our wedding unforgettable and we are SO HAPPY we were able to have them for our Big Day!

Everything from the initial conversation with Hannah to the last song they played at our wedding was utterly flawless. It was a blast collaborating (picking songs and planning our day) and then the band just sounded incredible. We lost count of how many guests came up to us, astonished by how good they were. We had a blast that day and Sound Society really helped set the tone and helped us throw an amazing and memorable party.

We had string duet for the ceremony and piano and sax for cocktail hour. Producer Hannah was excellent in helping us to prepare and select music.

I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT SOUND SOCIETY. Our 200+ wedding was nonstop dancing and amazing energy. At one point my husband and I hopped on chairs at the edge of the dance floor to take everything in, and everyone was dancing, very few people were seated at their tables. Hannah and her team were incredible. Multiple people have said this was the best wedding they've ever been to, because of the band. I cannot recommend them enough

SO GOOD!!! The band was the main topic of conversation after the wedding! We did the string quartet through Sound Society for the ceremony and they played all our song requests. Then the band kept the party going all night until the venue kicked us out. Everyone was chanting ONE MORE SONG at the end because they were that good. The other factor that only we saw was how great they were to work with leading up to the wedding. Adam is a godsend in the wedding planning process. He was responsive to everything and worked with all our song requests. He also did all the coordinating with our planner on timing for everything. The Sound Society dashboard makes everything so easy - not many wedding planning details are easy so that was much appreciated. Finally, we made the last minute decision to book a photo booth through Sound Society and they were super accommodating. It was an awesome photo booth too with filter and gif options. One of the post wedding highlights was looking through those. I can't say it enough, book them. You won't be disappointed!!

Sound Society Band was one word: EPIC. From my initial outreach to the wedding night, Hannah was absolutely incredible--professional, enthusiastic, and just wonderful to work with. I saw an add for the band on Instagram and reached out. Hannah got back to me right away. I was really interested in the band because of the reviews on their website about how everyone was dancing all night, and how they really focus on reading the energy of the crowd. Our wedding was in Cartagena, Colombia, and after a detailed discussion about my vision and my budget, Hannah came back with something completely reasonable and within budget, that accomplished exactly what we were looking for (I can't tell you how many bands and vendors I spent time with talking about budget and they come back with something almost double--what a waste of time). Sound Society had an amazing interactive platform for me to use to update the band with details, timing, preferences, etc. They also had an extensive playlist for me to choose from, plus were receptive to the list of songs we had been curating since we got engaged. The wedding weekend was perfect and Sound Society (and Hannah) were a MASSIVE part of that. They read the room, they kept the energy high, they absolutely KILLED IT. Hannah was a master MC. I literally cannot recommend them more. All people can talk about is how epic our band was--and to me, that was the most important part of our entire wedding. Every penny spent was worth it, I would have paid double (don't tell the band)! They really are professionals at what they do--they played a great set of motown to start the night and get our older guests into it, then after dinner revved it up with Top 40 and pop. Their range is incredible and their energy unmatchable. You will not regret booking this band, and if you have any doubts, go to one of their showcases and you'll be blown away.

I'm Italian, and my now husband is Dominican, so creating the perfect party atmosphere to bring our cultures together for our New York City wedding was a huge undertaking! We knew we had to find a band that cultivated joy by playing a wide variety of music. With Sound Society we found just that! Hannah was incredible to work with, answering all of our questions (and we had a LOT of questions) along the way. I've literally never been to a wedding where the majority of guests get on the dance floor at the very start of the night, but this was certainly the case for us, and I have Sound Society to thank for that. Hannah coordinated with our other vendors, so we did not need to worry about a single thing the day of, and they were super flexible with any last minute changes. Sound Society is the BEST band out there. They played at my wedding on October 8th and they had the whole party moving and grooving from the second they started playing. Hannah is the ultimate best - she takes care of every detail and we are so happy that we saw them play on the Lower East Side back in 2019. They were also so accommodating with all items relating to Covid-19 and were by our sides the entire time. I am SO happy that we chose Sound Society and they truly made our wedding night so special! 10/10 recommend. Highest customer service and best in the game!

They were the best!!! Everyone was dancing all night long. The night was magical and the band was a big part of it. If you are going to have a band for your wedding you don't have to look any further.

The most frequent compliment we got at our wedding is that "this is the best wedding band ever" and they absolutely are. Hannah is amazing to work with. She goes out of her way to get a feel for her couples and completely and utterly delivers the day of. Every single person in the band is so incredibly talented and they blow every one away. They play any and all types of music and even delivered on some of our random/weird requests. They know exactly what song to play when to keep the party going. They are so fun and relaxed -- exactly the vibe you want at your wedding. Absolutely made the night!

Hannah and the whole SSB crew were incredible from the very beginning. Not only were they super flexible with COVID rescheduling, they completely brought the house down once the big day did arrive. Would recommend them 10 times out of 10.

Hannah was absolutely incredible to work with! She was extremely quick to respond to all emails, which made all communication and coordination for the wedding day seamless. Her energy is unmatched and her and the rest of the band really made our wedding day complete! The dance floor was full the entire night and everyone was raving about how insanely good the band was! Sound Society was absolutely fantastic. Our guests had the best time because of their amazing music and talent!! Sound Society was by far the best part of our wedding. Music is huge in our family and so we knew we wanted to pick a rockin’ band. We got more than that on our wedding day! From the initial conversation to the actual wedding night; Sound Society was reliable, available, organized, and fun to chat with! We felt so comfortable throughout the entire process. Their performance??? Blew everyone away! They are an extremely talented group of musicians! They didn’t just play music and sing, they also danced up on stage as well! It felt like we were at a concert! So so so fun!

The band was an absolute hit at our wedding! We knew they’d be good but we were blown away and so were all our guests. They brought amazing energy, had the whole place dancing all night, and were fun and truly amazing. They worked with us every step of the way to make sure we had the right type of music and we had a couple of custom requests that they were more than happy to make happen. Just about every person throughout the night commented on how amazing the band was. They were pretty much the highlight of the night (besides us getting married!). If you’re looking for a memorable dance floor, you can’t go wrong with them!

The Sound Society is a great band.. when they are playing The singers and band are unbelievably talented. However, we had issues with the band playing. Here’s a timeline and background (When we receive video I will provide exact times): Wedding began at 7 and band played from the 7 to 7:15. Then intro for bridal party. 1st dance was DJ and then band played the father/mother dances. Couldn't have been later than 7:40. The father of the bride gave a speech. This was where issues arose. The MOH/BM speeches were supposed to go right after so we could go right into dancing for the rest of the night. There was about a 20-30 minute gap in between the F.O.T.B. speech and rest of speeches. During this time "light dinner music" was played so there was no dancing. After MOH/BM speeches we had more dead time. Band defended this and said "light dinner music" was played until 8:30 then the DJ played. The band did not go back to the stage until 9:30pm. My biggest problem with everything to this point is that the band played for 20-30 total minutes during the first 2.5 hours of the wedding. We had many people idling around the dance floor waiting for the band to come back on and a few complaints to bride/grooms parents about lack of band playing. It was an awkward conversation to have considering I fought to book this band. When I say I fought to book the band it was because the bride’s brother used the “sister band” of Sound Society. At the other wedding, the “sister band” took extremely long breaks while pressing play on an ipod for DJ sets. After that wedding, we found out the band refused to go back on stage to play until they were fed and the venue “screwed up” serving dinner to the band. The bride and groom took band's word and took up issues with the venue. The venue denied this was how things took place. Now back to our wedding. When we addressed these issues the next day, the band informed us issues were because of the venue (strange considering that happened with the sister band previously). The band stated that the venue manager changed the timeline that they had discussed the previous day (I would assume the band should be able to adjust on the fly if this were true). We gave the band the benefit of the doubt and addressed w/ venue. We were told that on the day of the wedding, our venue informed the band that since they were a large band (14 people) they thought it would be best to feed 4 members of the band at a time to allow for continuous music throughout the reception. When it was time for dinner to be served to the band, we were told the entire band left the stage to eat together. The venue manager told one of the band members they were not equipped to feed all 14 at once and that was discussed earlier. The band member told the venue that “the band manager told them they were all to eat together”. In our contract, there was an agreed upon 15 minute window where the DJ would play. There would also be a few 5 minute “break” windows for the band. When our wedding was postponed from October 2020 to May 2021 a new contract was posted on our band website. This contract stated the band would only play continuous music for 3 hours. When I addressed with band, I was told not to worry and we could disregard the new contract. I can’t stress enough that the band is fun and unbelievably talented. Just make sure someone stays on top of them throughout the night because it will lead to headaches you shouldn’t have to worry about.

After hearing this band at their showcase, we knew we only had one choice! They kept everyone up dancing the whole evening, from grandparents to our young nieces! We just loved the experience from our first meeting through to the sparkler exit! If you want music that will perfectly accompany your special day, this is your band!

Highlight of our wedding! My husband and I love music, and we wanted a band to keep the dance floor pumping all night long. Sound Society exceeded all our expectations... they even played Jeffs favorite Led Zeppelin song!!! Working with Liam in the lead up was so easy, and he was always available to quickly get back to all of our calls and emails. Now we might have to become wedding crashers so we can rock out to the band every weekend!!!
