We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful or stress-free wedding day. The Sound View was the perfect venue in every way. Kelly, the catering director, was such a pleasure to work...
with—responsive, organized, and incredibly thoughtful. She answered every question thoroughly and quickly, and made the entire planning process feel manageable. The contract, pricing, menu, and details were all super clear, and she made room block adjustments a breeze as our guest list shifted.
One of the best parts of having our wedding here was the food. Since it’s a full-service restaurant, everything was truly delicious—from the tasting (one of the most fun parts of planning!) to the wedding dinner itself. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the food and drinks. We were able to personalize our menu with some amazing appetizers, stations, and a gelato bar, which was a huge hit.
Our beach ceremony was an absolute dream. Kelly handled all of the rentals and coordinated the rehearsal the night before, working seamlessly with our day-of coordinator. On the day itself, I didn’t have to worry about a single thing.
Most of our guests were from California and used to stunning venues—but they couldn’t get over how gorgeous this beachfront, sunset-over-water spot was in New York. It blew everyone away.
Every staff member—from the chefs and bartenders to valets, wait staff, and housekeeping—was kind, professional, and warm. The hotel itself was gorgeous, our suite was huge, and the setting was stunning. We'll be looking back at our photos forever and feeling so grateful we chose the Sound View. Truly unforgettable.
We fell in love with this venue as soon as we walked in. It feels like you're on a boat and is the perfect setting for a wedding. Our ceremony was offsite, but we had our reception...
at The Halyard at Sound View and booked a room block there. The entire team at the hotel front desk was incredible and so accommodating. They helped all of our guests with their needs and made sure each received a welcome bag (even the people who booked outside of our block). Our experience with The Halyard team both on the floor and in the kitchen was also amazing. This is not your typical wedding fare—it's clear that a lot of thought and creativity goes into each dish. And I don't even know where to begin with their onsite day-of coordinator Caroline. She is AMAZING. I swear every time I saw her, a feeling of calm went over me. Once all the details are done, you can truly relax and know that she's got you! I really can't say enough good things about this place, but I can offer advice to ensure you have the experience you want. If you are not renting out the entire place, 100 guests is great for The Halyard. That's what we did and it worked out perfectly. You can probably fit more if you rent smaller chairs. The Halyard chairs are larger so they take up more room. Also, highly recommend doing a room block and getting ready there! I spent the morning staring at the water while my hair/makeup was being done. And my guests LOVED it. We got married in early November and they are still talking about our wedding being the best they'd ever been to.
After visiting The Haylard, my then-fiancé and I knew it was the perfect wedding venue! From the location, to the food, to the staff, everything contributed to make it the most spe...
cial day. Caroline is truly amazing and made sure every last detail was coordinated so that we did not need to worry in the slightest on the day of. She is beyond thoughtful and put so much care into making sure our day was perfect (even despite a last minute move to an indoor ceremony). Nothing missed a beat. Our guests told us countless times during and after the wedding that it was the best wedding they had every been to, that it was the best wedding food they had ever been to and they couldn't stop raving about Greenport and the Halyard. There is not enough space to say all the wonderful things about the staff and the venue that I would like to, but my husband and I could not recommend the Halyard more. It was a perfect day! We're ready to do it again!
It’s been 2 weeks since our wedding and we are still basking in the glow of how absolutely perfectly everything went! This is a hidden-gem venue for coastal elegance on Long Island...
. Stunning views, a soaring and open event space, and so many ways to make it exactly what you want.
Caroline, the Halyard’s event coordinator, is an outstanding asset to an already amazing space. She was so patient, helpful , and genuinely invested in every step of our planning. She delivered above and beyond on the day of. I don’t have enough words to explain how lucky you’ll be to have her on your team!
We were looking for the opposite of every LI wedding hall, catering, event space. We wanted classic and classy vibes and a really special experience for our guests.
Our tasting with Chef Nate was out of this world. Fully customizable and accommodating kitchen. Our guests raved about every bite they took from the truffled arancini at cocktail hour, to the salad (yes, really!), to the 10oz Prime NY Strip Steak & grilled Swordfish entrees. If you are a foodie, this is where you want to be!
We would recommend this venue for any time of the year as well. We opted to do our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the Halyard’s main dining room. It truly felt like we had 3 different parts to the night due to the skillful and seamless turnover of the room (barely knew it happened).
I’m excited for anyone else who ends up booking here. Your day will truly exceed your wildest dreams!

s taken care of and the venue looked absolutely gorgeous. Caroline herself always made sure I had a prosecco in hand. Truly a romantic, magical venue with a dream of a person to work with! We also booked for brunch the next day which was a wonderful way to say goodbye to our guests!

hetic. Many of our guests even said that this was the best wedding they have ever attended!! Lastly, I cannot say enough good things about Caroline. She was AMAZING, absolutely FANTASTIC, to say the least. My husband and I were so impressed with her knowledge, kindness, and graciousness. Thank you so much, Caroline and staff, our day was truly a dream. It was everything that we imagined and more!
If you are looking for a waterfront venue, this is it! Guests will feel like they are dining on a cruise ship. Venue is right on the beach overlooking the Sound. Gorgeous views ...
all year long. We were married in January and where able to have beautiful waterfront views during our indoor ceremony and reception. We were lucky enough to have a 50 degree day and take photos on the beach and outside deck. This place is a photographer's dream. Many spots for gorgeous photo ops. We also planned our ceremony/reception time so that guests could have plenty of time to enjoy the view in daylight and experience a gorgeous sunset. Guests raved about dinner and how amazing this location was. Staff was very attentive. Rosanna made the pre Wedding planning a breeze. Caroline made sure everything went smoothly and room looked beautiful day of. There is a Hotel next door and all rooms are waterfront! Perfect place to stay for your Wedding night and convenient for guests. Honeymoon here in Long Island wine country while enjoying the beach from your room's deck. Breakfast is included with hotel stays and restaurant next door offers lunch and dinner.
We had our wedding here this September, and we have only good things to say about working with the Halyard. Because of this year's circumstances, there were obviously many things t...
hat had to change about our wedding - mainly, our guest count and safety measures to be taken. Despite those obstacles, we were still able to have our intimate wedding with the help of the most lovely team in our favorite place - Greenport. The scenery and aesthetic of the venue is so breathtaking, it doesn't even need much decoration. Our event coordinator, Caroline, went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our wedding was perfect and that everything went seamlessly. The chef was so involved in the food, so devoted to seasonality and local ingredients, and tailored our menu to our exact tastes. They say you never eat at your wedding, but we might have eaten too much, and it was all delicious (seriously, nobody could stop talking about it). Our smaller wedding turned out better than we could have ever imagined. We got to celebrate with our closest family and friends, enjoy amazing food and each other's company, and it will be a day we cherish for the rest of our lives. Have your wedding here - you're in the best hands!

oors in their beautiful restaurant with tall , vaulted ceilings and stunning direct water views. All of our guests commented on how unique and amazing our wedding was. The food was superb. The chef really customized our menu to all seasonal ingredients. Everyone loved the cocktail hour and dinner. They even have a rustic piano bar where we held an afterparty with live music. It really kept guests going and was super fun way to end the night! Erin, the catering manager was such a pleasure to work with. From the start she really helped us bring our vision to life. The day of she was there overseeing everything and making sure our day was such a success. I absolutely recommend considering the Halyard for your wedding, especially if you want something different then an everyday catering hall. It really is a beautiful unique space. Our wedding was seriously the best day ever!
We looked around for months for a wedding venue on the north fork and as soon as we went to the Halyard we knew we found it. It is so unique and beautiful, the view of the sound wa...
s an unreal backdrop for the evening and a perfect location to bring out of town guests. We loved the clean modern style of the interiors that still had character and a nautical feel. Also it was easy! We didn't need to worry about weather, rent everything, or hire a ton of vendors - we knew it would all be taken care of beautifully. Leading up to the day, we loved working with the staff and knew we were in good hands without hiring a planner. The food was incredible, the service was so professional and friendly, great bar selections, everything ran so smoothly. We rented out the whole venue in order to host our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception with dancing, and it never felt crowded with 120 guests. The variety of spaces you get with the library, lounge, main room, and deck was awesome throughout the night so everyone was comfortable and had a blast. Highly recommend the Halyard for your wedding or any event!
