Sounds Great Entertainment is a wedding DJ based in Pinellas Park, FL. This DJ believes that the spotlight should be kept on the newlyweds. For this reason, owner Rick Pegram has developed a style that is spirited but restrained. This seasoned entertainer is committed to providing a lively celebration which you and your loved ones will not soon forget.
A longtime music lover, Rick was the friend who would show up to every party with his stack of records in tow. From a young age he was bringing his music with him and unknowingly honing his skills for a future career. This skillset was further sharpened in places like nightclubs and casinos until he found his way to weddings. In 1996 he opened his own business and he hasn’t looked back.
Sounds Great Entertainment’s owner is focused on staying on top of current trends and learning from other professionals in the industry. This quest for constant innovation is why Rick has remained successful for over three decades. His outgoing nature makes it easy for him to connect with you and your guests for a fun-filled evening of dancing.

Rick from Sounds Great Entertainment did our wedding on August 31 and was so professional.
He made sure to communicate with us about every single detail from the music to the
announcements. He went over pronunciations of names to make sure he would pronounce the
names correctly, which he did.
When it came to dancing time, Rick did a great job keeping everyone up and dancing by playing
a mix of our requests along with him mixing in songs he knew would work. If you are looking for

Rick was amazing! We had a couple calls beforehand and his personality resonated through the phone so we knew he was the best choice for our wedding! Everyone was on the dance floor all night, played a great mix of all styles of music. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ!

We got in touch with Rick after seeing him at a friend's wedding that they needed to book someone last minute. We loved how he keeps the focus on the couple. Rick was so professional, so humble and knowledgeable on all our music style choices, he curated a set list based on our preferences and kept all the songs clean for our wedding guests to enjoy for families with kids! We had a personalized song for our wedding entrance and he was prepared for anything when it came to not having electrical access or our wedding party missing their cues. If Rick has an opening then book him, you will be so glad you did!

We had such a wonderful experience with DJ Rick! He was easy to communicate with when it came to planning and had great suggestions that we appreciated. Rick went above and beyond to help our wedding go off perfectly. He arrived very early to set up and even helped cue our live violinist when to play the correct songs for the ceremony processional. He spoke with us multiple times before the event to ensure he had all the details he needed and brought everything printed out the day of to confirm it was correct. We also ordered floor up lighting from him and he worked very hard to get the exact color match we wanted to ensure the ambience for the event was right. During the reception, he brought great energy to get everyone excited for our first dance and helped to direct the buffet by table number announcements so that it didn’t get too crowded. He even took some videos of our chair horah and first dance, which was so helpful since we didn’t have a videographer! He followed my song requests and do not plays perfectly and made it so that we got to dance and celebrate to all of our favorite songs. Even when they were songs he did not recognize or even a few in a different language, he was fantastic at accommodating our requests. Thank you so much Rick, you were fantastic! I can not recommend him enough!!

I found DJ Rick on the knot and we are so happy that we chose him to be our DJ. He was so on top of everything! We had a couple phone conversations to go over details for the wedding and also had us fill out a planning form with all the songs we wanted him to play at our wedding. He was so easy to communicate with and he helped with anything we needed! He was so reliable and you can tell he has been doing this for years! We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. You will be so happy that you did!

We had our must haves as far as song selection and particulars and those came out perfect. Rick the freedom to read the room and keep butts on the dance floor and he did an excellent job doing just that. I would highly recommend DJ Rick. We had a few phone chats prior to our big day, and he helped tremendously with songs selections for things we did think of. No worries about the DJ and our wedding was absolutely perfect. We could not imagine a better dj for our wedding!! We got married at the Post Card Inn and DJ Rick was absolutely amazing!! He was very thorough and took his time to understand what we wanted before our big day. We didn't need to do anything the day of, and he did exactly as we talked about. He was fun, professional, and knew how to offer help and guidance. That is what I appreciated the most, how well he guided us through the process and assisted us with selecting our music. I'm glad we used him and honestly don't think we could have found anyone better for our 75 person wedding. Thank you Rick!!

Rick was a great DJ for our destination wedding in Florida. He was quick to respond to emails, texts, etc. Everything was well set up and I had no worries on the day of! Since we had a small wedding, there was not a lot of dancing and Rick still kept up his enthusiasm and the party going!

Simple process, fantastic music, & very professional.
Rick was professional and easy going. I was a little unsure when hiring a dj, but he immediately put me at ease on the first phone call. He provided sound and music for our outside ceremony, coctail hour, and reception. The sound was clear throughout the day and his ability to read a crowd and keep the dance floor alive was exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend booking him for your wedding. He is amazing to work with.

Rick was absolutely fantastic!! We communicated with him via email until a few days prior to the wedding, when we had a phone meeting with him. We both knew within 15 seconds of that phone call, that we made a wonderful choice. He listened to our recommendations and made some of his own. He kept stressing that it was our day and he wanted to make sure we were happy. On the day of the wedding, he was there over 2 hours early preparing for the ceremony. After the ceremony, he kept everything running on time and smoothly, so that we had more time for dancing and the fun part of the reception. He warmly welcomed requests from our guests. We would highly recommend Rick for any party or reception. Our reception was perfect and Rick was a huge part of making it that way

Rick was 10/10 on professionalism, quality of work, and timeliness. I had procrastinated reaching out to set up the DJ stuff with all of the other wedding stuff going on but Rick was able to do a quick meeting and walkthrough over the phone before doing the best DJ work I have ever seen at a wedding. I had given him some songs for dancing time and he was able to fill in based on the songs requested. If I needed a DJ again, I would definitely use Sounds Great Entertainment!!

Rick was AWESOME!!!! He DJ’ed at my wedding earlier this month and was just awesome. I had a lot of special requests with song merging for my bridal party dances and he made everything go so smoothly. The dance floor was packed the entire night!! We spoke on the phone numerous times before the wedding day to ensure that he had all the correct information from me, which I appreciate. It was the best night ever! Rick was great to work with at our wedding! He was amazing with making all the announcements and interacting with the guests. He blended in Bollywood music with music from 80s and 90s per our request. Extremely professional, fun and kept us dancing all night! Would highly recommend Rick for any event.

We hired Rick based on the overwhelming number of great reviews, affordable price, and after speaking to him on the phone. He was professional and down to earth and felt like a great fit for us. We had several non-traditional aspects at our reception (games, songs, jokes etc) and he executed them perfectly! He spoke with us beforehand and went over all the details and during the wedding always checked with us before starting the next event. Not to mention, we knew every single song he played and the dance floor was THRIVING. He really understood our music taste based on the form we filled out, I couldn't have done it better myself. We got SO many compliments from our guests about the music and the overall flow of our reception. Rick definitely exceeded our expectations and we 10/10 recommend him!

RICK WAS AN ABSOLUTE GOD SEND!!! Our original DJ cancelled on us 2 days before our wedding. In the haze and uncertainty of searching for a new DJ, we mercifully found DJ Rick - who was not just available, but also the BEST DJ we could have hoped to have! Speaking on the phone with DJ Rick with T-48 hours to go till the wedding put my mind at such ease. DJ Rick was so friendly, so easy to work with, so accommodating, and was able to put together the perfect playlist on such short notice. He was extremely professional and had such a wonderful attitude. My now husband and I are so incredibly grateful to have found DJ Rick!

Rick was amazing! From start to finish he was so helpful. He was at our venue well in advance and even matched to our wedding colors. Rick made sure the dancefloor wasn't empty for any portion of the night which was awesome. We opted to go with Karaoke in addition to the DJ services and it was a total HIT! If I could give Rick at Sounds Great Entertainment more than five stars I would. He is so professional, and honestly made the night of my wedding one that I will never forget! You can tell he has experience with DJing and I felt so comfortable and grateful that I chose him. He is friendly, easy to work with, dresses professionally and came to the venue prepared and on time. His stereo equipment sounded awesome and he even did the sound for my ceremony on the beach as well. I don’t live in Florida but through emails and phone calls he helped plan the songs I wanted and helped make the night run smoothly (coordinated with timing of different speeches, cake cutting, dinner, first dances, etc. even when I made last minute changes to things). He got everyone out on the dance floor and after the wedding all my guests told me how awesome he was. Highly recommend!! Thank you, Rick!

DJ Rick was awesome! I didn't know what to suggest as I am so indecisive so I let him pick out a majority of the music. From the seating music to the last song, everything he played was spot-on and flowed masterfully. He also got a not-so-into-dancing crowd on their feet in no time. The up-lighting was a beautiful touch to our venue. I highly recommend DJ Rick!

Rick was the DJ at our November 5th wedding and he was great! He set up sound and music for our ceremony on the beach, then provided music and was patient through rain at our reception. The situation was less-than-ideal for all the vendors, but he hung out and helped us pump up the party once the rain cleared. Thanks Rick!!!

We hired DJ Rick with Sounds Great Entertainment for our wedding day. Rick provided us with a sound system for the ceremony that included the entrance music as well as music for the cocktail hour. During our reception Rick provided some great quality entertainment. He was able to read our guest and how they reacted to songs! He kept the party going all night long!

If you are looking for a professional DJ, call Sounds Great Entertainment! Rick is a great DJ who has passion for all genres of music. He is highly experience and was able to read his crowd at our wedding to get them to start dancing! I personally enjoyed how well organized and detailed he is. He kept the groom and me on task from the start of the ceremony and through the night.

Rick was amazing and affordable. He provided sound for the ceremony and the reception, and everything was exactly how I'd envisioned it. He called me the week before to nail down the timeline, and was able to easily adjust to changes. I asked him on the spot to do a special dance for my guests, and he didn't even blink an eye, just went along with it. You will not regret hiring Rick for your musical needs! Absolutely wonderful!

We needed a DJ within 2 weeks of our wedding due to a cancelation and to say that Rick went beyond anything we could have dreamed of is putting it mildly. He had a FABULOUS mix of music based on things we told him we liked, he was so friendly with everyone even with the Covid issue, and he took charge of keeping all the activities going like the 1st dance, garter tossing, cake cutting, etc. I actually gave him more money than he quoted to me because of the incredible job he did. I think he is one of the ALL TIME BEST DJ's I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Do yourselves a favor and hire him over EVERYONE ELSE!!!! !!

Rick is amazing. We live in Ohio and our wedding was in Florida. We had a phone call to go over the music. He made a few very creative suggestions for the wedding processional. In my opinion, he was the most professional and offered the best pricing for the quality and experience that he brought, plus he included uplighting for us! He executed everything perfectly, and was extremely flexible with all of our last minute changes (especially with our wedding being in the midst of COVID). Highly Recommended!!!
Hired DJ Rick, from the beginning he was very easy to talk to and laid back, he gave me a great price as I had a strict budget. He has been very accommodating. Everyone had such a great time. So happy we went with him. He really made our wedding something special.

We can't say enough great things about Rick and his Sounds Great Entertainment. He and my daughter coordinated the way they wanted the party to flow and a rough outline of what songs and types of music she wanted. He played nice background music during cocktails and appetizers, then did the announcement transitioning us into the toasts...then moved us along to the buffet. Dancing commenced after dinner..and EVERYONE wanted to dance, because the music was perfect. Easy to work with, no hassles, no worries..best of all no bridezilla or mother-of- the bridezilla!. Rick from Sounds Great Entertainment did my daughter’s wedding on Jan.25, 2020 at Shepherd’s Clearwater Beach. He made all the necessary announcements and he had just the right amount of energy and kept the dance floor moving the entire time. Highly recommended !!!!
DJ Rick Pegram did not disappoint! I did not realize how stressed I would be, as we planned and coordinated a great deal of our wedding ourselves, from 1000 miles away. Rick was so incredibly organized in planning, and did not miss a beat when anything wasn't exactly as planned. He made sure he knew all name pronunciations for the people in my party, he was involved, engaged, and had the perfect amount of enthusiasm. I felt like he was genuinely excited for each piece. We did have children at our wedding and he was so patient with them. He also protected my drink and my phone (I kept losing both!). He worked with my other vendors to ensure all were on the same page.
Rick is well worth every penny we spent, I have already recommended him to couple we know, but I'd scream it from the rooftops to couples we don't know. BOOK HIM YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!!! Thank you DJ Rick!

Rick was great as our DJ for our wedding at The Grand Plaza, he played everything we asked and had everyone dancing. Also the up lighting made the room look really nice. Rick arrived early to set up and make sure everything was all set for our wedding and to see if we had any last minute changes.
If you are looking for a great DJ who knows how to get things hopping and who is reliable and very professional Rick is the man to do the job!
DJ Rick was by far the best ever! Not only was he kind but he was quick to respond and extremely helpful. He was able to help me with all the music selections, I ran into a snag with my father daughter song I couldn’t figure out which song to pick Rick knocked it out of the park and made the perfect choice for us. Rick saves the day when we had issues with decorations, and was able to add on awesome color lighting. If you want someone who looks extremely professional and dose an amazing job for a great price Rick and sounds great entertainment is the way to go!!

Rick did a fantastic job DJing our wedding! He was actually a last minute replacement due to our other DJ having a serious emergency - Rick took on the challenge and really made our night special. He made sure we spoke to confirm song choices throughout the night as well as how we wanted the flow of the reception to go. He was very professional and kind and even dressed to match our color scheme! Highly recommend.

I got married back in November and Rick was our DJ. He was a great DJ with great music choices. I’m not super into music so I let Rick choose a lot of the music and he kept the party going all night long. I would definitely recommend him!

My wedding was June 2nd 2018. I had a double wedding with my sister. Rick did an amazing job. The wedding was so much fun. He was great with meeting to plan before and made sure we had exactly what we wanted. He was organized in planning too. If I was unsure of what I wanted he had suggestions and examples to help. The wedding guests smiled and danced all night!! I would highly recommend him. I am thankful he was my DJ. He was super friendly and professional.

Rick was fantastic. We had so many songs on our list, from every Genre and he found all of them. he even customized one of the songs and faded it for us at a certain time for our first Dance. We made a lot of requests and he worked all of them in and played a multitude of songs that got all of our guest dancing. A real pleasure to plan and work through this we couldn't be happier with how everything worked out and how well everything was coordinated.
