hing. Three hours flew by. After we left the meeting my husband said, “Wow, you’re right a great DJ is really important to make the day run smoothly”. Knowing DJ George was the DJ for our wedding and I absolutely had no worries and I knew it would run smoothly. It was like I had a DJ and an event planner all in one. The day of our wedding went completely smooth! DJ George was so fun, entertaining, and really got the crowd going. We partied all night long! We got so many compliments about our DJ! DJ George walks around and talks to the crowd he does not just stay in one place. The music was perfect and exactly what we and our guests love. I could text George anytime with any questions I had and he responded immediately. Also, anytime I called Sounds in Motion Malia would answer and she is so extremely sweet and professional. I never even had to leave a voice message because Malia always answered the phone. You will not regret booking with Sounds in Motion and you will stress WAY less having them as your vendor. There is literally nothing to worry about with Sounds in Motion as your DJ. This company is highly organized, dependable, and professional. Those are the three major qualities you want in a vendor. I highly recommend this company!

ut the DJ! I remember watching him at the dinner reception, as he walked around and mingled with the guests at different tables. This was nice because it made our guests feel comfortable to be able to requests songs, or just make a new friend at the wedding. The lighting he used was also very impressive. The wedding coordinator we used also couldnt stop complimenting us about his service. Overall, I am so pleased with his service and Sounds in Motion!! THANK YOU!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for service was because of our awkward dealings with George's secretary Noelani. She was very unprofessional and rude, but all of the issues were resolved by George and his wonderful wife, Erin.

ur wedding group. During the planning of our wedding, George, was so helpful with selecting the music and spend a few hours planning out our schedule. Not only did they play amazing music and have an fantastic DJ, helping us plan the schedule helped so much. It made the wedding flow so smooth & everything fell into place. And their sound system, no issues AT ALL. I recently went to a wedding and the DJ's speakers went out a couple of times, that definitely didn't happen with Sounds In Motion. We had no issues with sound at all. I'm definitely a fan of Sounds In Motion.

prior to the event for planning and payments. Nick C was fantastic on the day. He did a great job setting up for the ceremony. The reception was fantastic. The up-lighting kits created a great atmosphere. Nick and his assistant did a fantastic job keeping everyone up and dancing (the kids needed less encouragement) and in taking and keeping requests and reading the crowd while managing to listen to our concerns about music choice.

ound in Motion based on a recommendation by our wedding planner and photographer and we were very surprised at how wonderful they were. KEVIN is the BEST!!! He played every song we wanted - he understood our taste in music and played the right songs to match them.

I've never seen so many people on the dance floor so fast at a wedding or stay on the dance floor till thee very last song. From music for my teenage cousins to the "young" at heart in the room Raffi played something for everyone. The lighting was added a wonderful element to the evening. Thank you Raffi for helping make our day AMAZING. I just need it to be groundhogs day and me able to relive the night as a guest.

sounds in motion and from the beginning my experience with them was fantastic. They were organized, detailed and had the experience to help with with the planning and time line of my evening. They had a huge array of music available to my husband and I. The night of my wedding was amazing. The dj was funny, and made my guests laugh and they were very entertained. I wanted my wedding to be fun for everyone form my friends to my parents friends and sounds in motion helped me achieve just that.

ally, we just contracted for a DJ, but then later we decided to throw in a Photobooth as well. Payments were made online, and contracts were e-mailed, signed and then mailed back to the company without any issues. Nick was our DJ- he was awesome! We had a consultation five or six months before the wedding so he could get an idea on our wedding day needs. Sound in Motion uses an online system for you to input music requests, blacklisted songs (i.e. the Chicken Dance in our case), order of ceremony and reception events, names of wedding party member names, etc. Nick provided flawless microphone and music for the outdoor ceremony site. He was the MC and ran the main DJ booth at the reception site , while an assistant, Max, ran the Photobooth. Nick was very open to music suggestions (ours included a lot of Indie, somewhat hard to find music- he found it all), did a phone consultation with me a few weeks before the wedding to review the entire wedding and let me know I could email him any time with questions/changes (he was so on-the-ball, I didn't need to do a second phone consultation the week before the wedding like he suggested). He was excellent at co-coordinating the reception activities with my venue wedding coordinator in order to provide enough time between each activity with adequate breaks for dancing. As a DJ, he had never done the "shoe game" for a bride and groom, though he'd heard of it. So, he researched and pulled that off as well. My guests loved it. By the end of the night, our dance floor was PACKED. I've been to weddings where the dance floor was an awkward dead no-man's land, but Nick kept it going with all the latest dance music (and threw in a few slow songs at my request). Everyone is still talking about how much fun they had on the dance floor at my wedding. I found out after the fact he had forgotten the Mp3 for the song for our last dance. One of my groomsman later told me how Nick had pulled him aside, and they had hurriedly downloaded and transferred the song to his DJ equipment at the last minute. I had no clue- great problem-solving on Nick's part. =) I also thought it was adorable when he and Mex asked my permission to sit at a guest table. My guests were very friendly, saw they were eating alone and invited them over. As a bride I appreciate his thoughtfulness in asking first, although I thought it was very sweet and had no problem at all with it. The photobooth was so much fun! It's a newer trend I think and SO WORTH IT. They provide someone to run the booth, give you a ton of props (hats, signs, etc) to put on, give you the option of B&W or color, and you get two printed copies of the photos immediately. Kevin handles the design of the print-outs, and he found something that went very well with our wedding theme. After the wedding, Kevin mailed us a thumb-drive with a copy of all the photo booth photos! I was able to upload them to the internet, so all my friends/family could have extra copies. LOVED IT. e had to change things last minute and was really nice to work with throughout the planning process. He keeps you calm. The sound system and lighting were nice as well. Overall, highly recommend Sound in Motion.

show off their "brag books" of all of their happy couples who have used them. I thought they were awful! They said they had done several wedding at my outdoor venue and how beautiful it was. During speeches the microphone died multiple times. I made a list of "must play" songs and most of them were not played. Everything was rushed and at 10pm DJ Jason comes to me and says he can add an extra hour when I had talked to George and already paid for the extra hour in advance!! I emailed George after the wedding because I was so disappointed and he blamed it on the venue saying they always have electrical issues at that venue and a year ago out there the electricity was out for 2 HOURS! He said a generator was needed out there. I emailed him back saying we had 2 generators out there just in case and the DJ should have told someone, anyone that! Never got a response. He didn't motivate the crowd at all and seemed disconnected and uninterested throughout reception. I would not recommend them. Some people got great service but we had to pay the same price as them for a huge disappointment. I've had more fun at friends weddings who just used an iPod for their music and had an uncle to introduce everyone. Jason only said first names to introduce after I had written out everyone's first and last name phonetically.

Our DJ Andrew was great...so easy to work with and was able to meet with us in the San Jose location (where we live) rather than our having to drive to their Santa Cruz location (which is closer to where we had our wedding). He was very professional but very easy-going and great to work with. He had a lot of helpful suggestions and was great with finding some of the wacky music we wanted played during the reception. He made sure all the special songs/dedications we wanted were done, the timeline was kept (but not in a rigid, bad way...a non-interfering good way). The photobooth was a great hit with our guests and we had a thumbdrive with all the pics and an album immediately from them. It was great fun to look at the album while we were on our honeymoon. There were some really fun pics captured. They supply props for folks to use in getting their pics done and the machine does two strips of three photos per session....so your guests can take one and one goes in the album. We had a little thank you note, our names and the wedding date down at the bottom so the photos could be the favor that everyone took home with them (because then it was something they created, had fun with and wanted). It was a great hit! The sound for the ceremony, reception (we had several singers/musicians attending so they would perform at random), and the music for the reception were awesome! They did a great job using the music we indicated to build a play list that we and our guests loved. We got so many compliments. Thanks Sound In Motion!!!

He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time at our wedding, and his timing as being the MC was flawless-- everything that happened had enough time to enjoy it, but nothing lasted too long, and the flow was great. He did a fantastic job DJing, combining the music we requested with other requests from guests and popular music, and the dance floor was hopping! We would definitely hire Sound in Motion again.

try, crap rap & R&B... Love indie, electro, rock n roll, stuff not played over and over on the radio. They nailed it & worked with our out there music requests!!! The DJ they assigned us for our night mixed in our vows on the last song of the night from earlier at our ceremony... He even serenaded us with a ukelele before we left for the hotel after the party ended!!! Two great surprises!!! Besides killing it at the cocktail & reception w/awesome music! Can't give these guys enough stars! Sooooooooo good!

He made sure to let them know when the receiving line began, he introduced people giving toasts, he let the guests know when it was time to cut the cake, toss the bouquet, etc. And when everyone was dancing, he really read the crowd and played GREAT music. I would highly recommend Andrew. Then as the sun went down, and the uplighting came into play, the reception room looked beautiful. It really gave an elegant touch.

Very flexible and easy to work with. The day of the event, my DJ, Jerry (George's brother) looked exactly how I had expected (yes, they ask you what the DJ should be wearing!), and played everything George & I had set up. He was constantly involving the crowd, and took requests with pleasure (he was bombarded with requests from my kids). Overall-a very good choice. My guests loved it! Check them out-you're not going to find anyone better.

JUST FOR LIGHTS! So I started to shop around. I requested a quote from Sound In Motion almost as a joke. I mean, they provide services for the 49ers! How could I afford to hire them? And then Kevin got back to me and amazed me. They were able to not only provide lighting within my budget, but they were able to pick up the equipment from the venue right after the reception was over at no additional 'late night' charge. You don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes, as Sound In Motion proved, you get so much more!

Being able to use their website to put in all our requests was the perfect way to make me feel at ease about how things ran during our ceremony and receptions, as well as kept the music to what we wanted. :) Kevin couldn't have done better...young, fun, and professional - perfect combination!
