Founded in 1983, Owner Chris is a graduate of the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. A former radio personality, Chris started working as a wedding DJ full-time when he relocated back to his native home of York. He has since performed at over 6,000 weddings. His knowledge and experience in the industry has led him to appear on two wedding TV shows, Dream Weddings and Weddings in Style. His team is now comprised of 5 DJs all of whom have been trained personally by Chris. This dedication to excellence and high-quality, personalized service is reflected in their acclaimed work, awards and professional demeanor.
This DJ company offers a personalized approach to planning weddings and events. Couples can benefit from a complimentary consultation (phone or Skype call) with their DJ before the event to discuss their vision and likes and dislikes. Couples will have access to an online wedding planning portal where they can create a "Must Play" list of their most important songs. Additional categories include "Play if Possible", " Play Only If Requested" and there is also a "Do Not Play" list for any songs or artists that should be avoided. They offer all musical genres to appeal to guests of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from Classical to Pop and everything in between.
The Soundwaves team understands that a wedding day is about the couple, and that the music played should be a reflection of them. The company also offers a specific link for guest requests, allowing them to make requests prior to the wedding. The engaged couple will have the option to review and filter the list and delete any unwanted songs. This allows your guests to be an interactive part of your wedding. The DJ will provide wireless microphones for the ceremony and also for the toast. As well as catering to wedding receptions, Soundwaves Entertainment can also provide music for the ceremony. This includes ceremony prelude music as guests start to arrive, as well as wireless and lapel microphones for the officiant.
Soundwaves Entertainment offers two types of wedding packages. A budget friendly basic wedding package for your ceremony and reception or bundled DJ packages which combine DJ services for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with additional popular services such as a photo booth, monogram, up lighting. Dancing On A Cloud, Dancing under The Stars, Sparkular Machines for your Grand Entrance and more.

Chris Pyle
Exectutive DJ/ Owner
Owner and Executive DJ Chris Pyle is a Graduate of Spring Grove High School and holds a degree in Broadcasting. While in high school Chris worked as a DJ at a local roller skating rink (Roller Way) and an under 21 dance club that he helped to establish. Chris has also worked at several local area radio stations as an On-Air Personality and as Music Director. As Music Director he worked closely with major Record Company Representatives that promote their artists and new music.
Chris began his career in Radio at age 18 working at WGTY. As well as in Gettysburg, WHVR AM and WYCR FM (98YCR) in Hanover, working part-time while attending the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland in Baltimore. Upon graduation, he was granted an FCC license. DJ Chris Pyle also worked Full Time at Top 40 radio stations in Chambersburg, Pa. and Virginia and North Carolina. Then Chris returned home to York, Pa. in 1994 to start a family and start DJ’ing Full-Time and re-establish Soundwaves Entertainment. Chris has done over 5,000 weddings in his career.
