We only had a six month engagement so I didn't have time to do the research I might have normally done. I can say without hesitation: hire Heatwave for your wedding! My challenge was an age range from 8-88 and a core friend group in their 40s and 50s. We wanted to hear some current songs, but also 60s-70s-80s-90s-00s. I wanted everyone packing the dance floor all night. Heatwave "understood the assignment"...from Journey to Van Halen to Lizzo to Violent Femmes. They nailed it. People didn't leave the dance floor (even to go to the bar) and dozens of guests said it was the best wedding they've ever been to and the best band they've ever seen. Thank you Heatwave for giving this 51 yo 1st time bride the time of her life! I can't thank you enough.

nce, I knew the band set the tone for the entire night. From start to finish, the group was incredible. The communication was constant and they organized multiple meetings to make sure everything would go exactly as planned for the wedding. When we finally heard them for the first time, I realized just how fortunate we were. Their live sound is considerably better than all of their recordings. Their energy was nonstop and our guests were dancing all night. The one compliment we kept getting during and after our wedding was “this is the best wedding band I’ve ever heard”. They were one of the highlights for everyone, I can’t recommend them enough.

for my son’s wedding would be incredibly high. My expectations were MORE than met when Heatwave performed for us on May 7, 2022! First off, you could tell these musicians have played together A LOT – you just get the feeling that they are a tight-knit family who deliver super tight grooves, with fantastic song selections that flow from one to the other naturally and effortlessly. You want that in a band, because that experience and comradery enables them to react to an audience and change songs on a dime to keep the energy and momentum moving throughout the evening. The four singers (2 men, 2 women) EACH has simply fantastic (but different) voices that allowed them to literally cover literally every genre of music; from classic Motown, soul and pop to today’s hip hop, to beautiful ballads and hot Latin dance tracks. And they also blended beautifully when they all harmonized together. And if you’re a Queen fan, ask Dre to sing “Don’t Stop Me Now;” he tore down the house with that performance! Besides all being great musicians, it’s also important that a band works effectively to customize the music for their client. My particular requests called for a unique Beatle-themed wedding ceremony, two songs that I would sing with the band (once a musician always a musician!) and a bunch of other special song requests. Both Art and his music director Yoel were really easy to work with; they never said no to any of my special requests, and I know they worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the band learned anything they didn’t already know. The night of the wedding, they came fully prepared and made me sound great! If a song is important to you, they will learn it and perform it to perfection. It was a true pleasure working with Art and all the members of Heatwave; I’ve heard nothing but raves from our guests, with many saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I HIGHLY recommend them!

They are even more unbelievable in person, and what an experience to see them live! Their sound is so outstanding, and the authenticity is unreal. Besides the 4 main singers who sound just like the actual artists, the musicians sing as well. Any song from any genre and decade had the perfect voice for the song. They played the most current popular music and all the way back to the classics everyone remembers and loves. Every musician is so talented, and every vocalist is so fabulous! We thought we were at a concert. Their professionalism is exceptional! From the moment our guests stepped into the ballroom, we started getting comments about this band. Guests were in awe and asked us where on earth we found them! The highest compliments came from our guests who are in the music industry. That just shows what a reception we had. The greatest part was that we did not need to worry about any of the details. We just put it in Art, the band leader’s hands, and just enjoyed the celebration. He sets a timeline down to the last second, and the entire evening runs so smoothly. These performers have been in this business for so long and know how to read a crowd. They knew exactly what to play and when. From beginning to end, the dance floor was packed, and they knew how to keep everyone out there. They brought the party and kept it going, and my guests stayed until the last song. We didn’t want it to end. We have a big, Italian family who go to tons of weddings. Having their wonderful comments made it such a night. It was awesome to see every guest of every age from teens to grandparents all having the best time the entire time! They absolutely rocked the wedding, had everyone dancing and having the time of our lives. The compliments we are still receiving on the band haven’t stopped. Tamara, one of the lead singers, sang “At Last” a special song to us, so gorgeous, it captivated the whole room. The talent of these band members is unmatched. We are so grateful they were a part of our special day, hiring Heatwave was the best decision ever. There is no one like them!

The music was such an important part of every moment of our day. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to first dances, and then having a celebration on the dance floor for the rest of the evening… Heatwave created the energy & atmosphere we wanted for every moment of our special day. 1.) They sound amazing. I’m a musician myself… I play piano, guitar, and drums, and have played in several bands. My dad played in a wedding band for 30 years. Myself and my whole family have been around music our entire lives… and these guys sound amazing. Each band member was exceptional, their chemistry as a group was outstanding, and the sound quality was superb. 2.) They can play anything. The song list that they gave us spanned every musical genre from modern hits back to the 50’s. We had them play a mix of old & new, including some demanding special requests... and they nailed every note. The dance floor was full all night, which was exactly what we wanted. 3.) Communication. There’s so much more to hiring a wedding band than just finding a band and booking them. You’ve got decisions about ceremony music, cocktail hour, introductions of the wedding party, first dances, and more… We even had a few special requests. The band was organized, quickly responded to any emails or text messages I sent them, and inspired confidence that they would deliver… and they did! 4.) Attention to details... and to us. Due to weather concerns, we waited until the last moment to make a final decision on indoor versus outdoor set-up. This is a big deal, as a band has to plan staging & equipment set-up. They were remarkably flexible, and gave us all the time we needed to make our decision. They basically planned the set-up for two separate venues and allowed us to make a call at the last minute based on weather. There were so many other vendors pressuring us to make this decision… meanwhile… these guys made it clear that their top priority was to make us happy... and bent over backwards to do so! :D Do yourself a favor and book Heatwave. Whenever I talk to one of my wedding guests the first thing they say to me is… “Your wedding was so amazing… That band was incredible!”

hly recommend them!! I heard a couple of bands play at bars but was hesitant to sign them. My Dad listened to Heatwave at a wedding and sent me videos. I am 27 years old and he is 31 years old. Heatwave did a great job pumping up the crowd with their pipes, encouragement of the wedding guests to stand in a circle around the first dance, and announcing events like the bouquet toss. The band gave me 8 pages of songs to choose from and the opportunity for them to learn 2 songs not on the list. I gave the band leader, Yoel Hyman, a list of “Do Not Play” songs and a few mandatory ones I wanted played. They were a smashing success and my friend in Canada even asked for their contact info to see if they can come play at her future wedding. You will be making a mistake if you don’t have them play for your wedding.
