I have been in the beauty industry for over 10 year's. I studied at Paul Mitchell the School in Tyson's Corner VA, where I excelled in bridal upstyling and fell in love with makeup artistry. Melissa ( and the amazing team she gathered) did such an amazing job making me, my bridesmaids, mom, and MIL look gorgeous and feel amazing. From trial to wedding day, I had the best experience with Melissa. I chose her because she made such an emphasis on feedback, was so kind, and she uses real makeup products ( no airbrush or suspicious looking products). She made the whole experience relaxing, collaborative, and added in such joy to the bridal suite. She makes you feel heard, and was completely confident when I switched my hair from our trial and wanted to change my eye makeup halfway through. I have truly never felt prettier and never had my makeup last so long! Highly highly recommend!

Melissa is AMAZING. I am Asian and was nervous to have my hair (thick!) and makeup done since not everyone can adapt/do it well. She surpassed my expectations and ensured my hair and makeup was done exactly how I wanted. She is patient and so kind! On the day of my wedding Melissa helped my bridal party and I feel gorgeous. Melissa is absolutely amazing! She was so fun and professional to work with and made sure all of us looked STUNNING for the wedding day!! Melissa truly highlighted all my best features I loved that I still felt like myself under her gorgeous makeup! Melissa is a miracle worker!! She made all my hair dreams come true for my wedding and I’m so grateful I found her. I wanted a boho flowy vibe and Melissa is the queen of boho hair and natural makeup. I have very fine and thin hair so I brought Halo extensions to use and Melissa did an amazing job with them! She’s very easygoing and super fun to talk to, making it easy to work with her for any changes you want. She was early to our wedding venue and everything was set up and ready to go by the time my bridal party showed up— zero stress! I wish I could have her do my hair for every event!! Melissa is a rockstar! She did the most classic updos on all of my bridesmaids in record time while some how entertaining us all. She’s a master of her craft. Melissa slays updos and if you’re lucky enough she will do you makeup. ;) I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day thanks to Melissa’s hair and makeup skills!

Melissa is literally and hair magic maker. She took all our inspo photos and knocked them out of the park. I loved my hair and makeup so much and it lasted the whole night…. through sweat, wind on the beach and dancing. She is so nice, easy to talk to and very professional. She fit right in with all the chaos and kiddos that were running around while I was getting my hair and make up done by her. Literally the best experience ever. On top of this I never got to have my hair trial because I am out of state(live in Ohio) so I was nervous going into it but she did so amazing. I cannot recommend her enough especially if your looking for a romantic braid style.

Melissa did an amazing job for all of my bridesmaids and family members. We had a wide variety of hair types in our group and she was able to accommodate all of us and everyone looked great! She also did an amazing job on our makeup as well making sure that she tailored the make up to our skin types and adjusted for each person to make sure we all felt comfortable with the make up as well. I would highly recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a great stylist!

South Carolina brides look no further! Melissa did a phenomenal job with everyone's hair and makeup for my wedding! I have very dark hair and somehow she was able to bring dimension with my updo. From start to finish, she went above and beyond. Since I was unable to do a trial run prior to my wedding day, she gave my sister and I the lipstick she used so we could touchup as necessary. She has such a sweet, funny personality and was a pleasure to be around!

Melissa is hands down the best at what she does! Not only is she so sweet and personable, she knows how to do any style you can imagine. I was beyond happy with my hair, my bridesmaid, my maid of honor, and my moms hair. We were right on time with finishing for pictures and everything was beyond perfect.

I don't think I quite have the words to convey how amazing Melissa was during my wedding planning process as well as on the day itself, but I will try my best. I left my initial bridal hair trial not knowing what I wanted my hair to look like which majorly stressed me out. Melissa went above and beyond by offering to schedule another trial with me and also offered to travel to me for it! That's when I knew she cares about her clients exponentially and is willing to do anything to help out her brides! On the day of, she had so much positive energy which was so needed to balance out my nerves! I seriously could not imagine the day without her in it. Plus, the amount of compliments I got during the day from my guests on how beautiful the hair and make up was speak for itself. Brides, this is your sign to book with Melissa. She is AMAZING!

Melissa is by far the bear hair and makeup artist I have ever seen! I hired Mellissa to do all my girls hair and makeup for my wedding! Needless to say, she killed it! Melissa is wonderful! Make sure you research makeup looks you want before your trial. Also, she does trials at her house in Raeford so be aware it is a good trip from the triangle if you’re coordinating with bridal portraits.

your hair and makeup. I feel so horrible your experience wasn’t anything but amazing. My heart hurts knowing you were/are disappointed. This is my full time job so please know this job and you brides mean everything to me. (Besides for my own kiddo lol). I earned the “best of status” because I worked/work extremely hard on my business and I give my absolute all to my brides. But there is always room for improvement. I’m not perfect but I do strive to be. I am also open to criticism and I will work to be better. 1. Trials- My contract states that all trials are held in my home studio. I am a single mom and that is why I hold them there. I’m sorry it was difficult for you to coordinate time for your trial. . Your trial hair turned out beautifully on your fine hair. Now as for your trial makeup, you showed me some images and you wanted a dark lip. I completely agreed that we needed to change your makeup and we discussed that through text. You also decided you wanted to change your bridal hair to something else as well which was totally fine. . But I feel it’s only fair to share that the day of the wedding the hair and makeup timeline you provided was not realistic. I asked to start at 5am because you needed hair and makeup for 5 people and all of you needed to be ready by 9:30am. You stated you could not do that and decided on a 7:00am start time. Giving me and my assistant 3 1/2 hours to rush through everyone including you who wanted a different upstyle and makeup. Bridal hair and makeup takes me around 2 hours. Then we aim for 30 min hair and 30 min makeup for bridesmaids. On top of that you provided the wrong address to the venue. Which was fine but I’m simply starting that all these things played a role into the stress of the day and you not receiving the expectations you hoped for. . Now onto the lashes, lashes are complimentary. They are not added into the overall price of makeup. I’m sorry about the frustration that caused you. . Again I’m truly sorry for your experience but I do hope you can see that I did my best with the time I was provided.

Melissa Dunn is amazing! She is so down to earth and very easy to talk to. She really listened to what I wanted. I had a stressful hair situation and had to find a new hair stylist last minute but she really came in clutch. She knew how worried I was about my trial and took the time to figure out what I was looking for. I would book Melissa right away. Her work is impeccable and she will make you look amazingly beautiful. My hair lasted ALL day and night long. I was shocked. I actually got a compliment when I got back to my hotel from someone who said “it looks like you just did you hair.” Book her and you won’t regret!

When I had to reschedule my wedding from May to October 2020, the only vendor I had previously booked that I knew I MUST keep was Melissa. There was no one else I wanted to do my hair or makeup because she is just the best (and this was before I ever even had my trial!) After my first trial, I decided I wanted to switch my hair and makeup completely and she was so accommodating. My wedding hair was literally the prettiest style I have ever seen and it didn’t move one bit all night. I still get compliments to this day! Not only did I feel beautiful but so did my bridesmaids. Melissa did an amazing job! I had my hair/make up trial with her and she did a fantastic job! Come wedding day I wanted to change up my hairstyle slightly and told her my new vision and she FAR exceeded my expectations. She did hair for me, my bridesmaids, MOB and flower girl.
