From simply replying to my emails in a timely manner to making sure that I (and my husband) had a drink in our hand the entire time. Even during these times of COVID the staff at Southern Oaks helped me to still be able to have the wedding of my dreams. Although we opted out of having a private dinner for my husband and I, they made sure to send us home with some very delicious food. All of my guests had nothing but fabulous things to say about their whole experience, but especially their tasty food. I had a vision of having ice cream (and cake) at my wedding since I prefer that more than cake and Stacey especially made this vision a reality better than I could have asked for. I truly cannot thank everyone at Southern Oaks enough for everything they did for myself, our family and our friend.

e who plans events for a living, I was a tad nervous about the logistics of planning from New Jersey. Let me just say that Lauren was an absolute godsend. Her and the entire SOP team made planning so easy and stress free. It is so evident that they have a passion and knack for delivering amazing service and giving people their dream wedding that they can enjoy. Not having to stress about picking a DJ, table centerpieces or a menu gave me time to focus on picking a photographer, bridesmaid dresses and other details. Now, lets get to the magical part, the wedding! From the moment I stepped off the shuttle bus, I was treated like an absolute queen. The staff was incredible in taking care of me, my groom and our families and bridal parties. Lauren, Mr. Bobby(the amazing owner) Vince, Nick, Jeremy and Justin and all of the bartenders/wait staff. They were all so friendly, so professional and kept the night running smoothly. The surprise Rolls Royce entrance was an absolute dream and according to my Groom was his favorite part of the evening. My guests have not stopped talking about the food, the jazz band, the fireworks and the beautiful lit up front lawn and back patio area. Thank you Southern Oaks for giving me the wedding of my dreams and according to our guests, the wedding of the decade.

I am in Boston, but from the South and I knew I wanted my wedding back home and for my guests from all over to get a feel for some authentic southern charm. The SOP staff was incredible. Planning from far away was actually a breeze. Lauren and Mr. Bobby were always so accommodating and helpful when I called and emailed with my several questions. The rehearsal was very thorough and they just made me feel calm during the entire process. My wedding day was nothing short of amazing. It was a dream come true. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I will never forget the special drive in the Rolls, and the sweet surprise fireworks. Mr. Bobby even took some of his own sweet time to show my flower girl the horses, and she loved it. The jazz band was definitely a hit when starting the party to the reception! The Cafe Du Monde truck was also a huge hit at the end of the night! Southern Oaks just has so much to offer and they made my husband and I feel so special. I have received nothing but compliments from my guests on how professional the staff was, how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, and how amazing the food was! Several said it was the best wedding they had ever attended! Emma and Nick were our personal attendants and they were the best! Lauren was a gem! My entire night went so smoothly and the staff did not miss a beat! They handled everything! I can't say enough good things, I wish I could go back and do it all over. This place and this staff will always hold a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful for everything.

The day of our wedding it rained and was expected to rain through the ceremony. Bobby and his team did everything in their power to prepare for our wedding to still be outside. There was a very small break in the weather and of course his amazing team pulled off the wedding of my dreams. The carriage ride and fireworks were a bonus and truly made our wedding night a fairytale. I can't express enough how thankful my husband and I were to be able to enjoy our whole night stress free because of their team. My parents were also worry free that night which allowed them to enjoy every minute of the ceremony and reception. Their team is AMAZING!!!

They left no detail unturned. They were our wedding planners, they recommend an amazing list of vendors we might need. We chose all of our vendors based on their recommendations including bakery. Limos. Photographer , flowers, makeup artist, invitations etc. and were super pleased with all! The venue itself is so classy , elegant, and just plain amazing. Southern Oaks is a one stop venue for all of your wedding needs. Our daughter chose to be married in church and have her reception at Southern Oaks. Bobby was there to greet us as we arrived! Not many owners care that much! The surprise grand entrance with fireworks, fairytale music, lights and streamers Bobby planned for our daughter was priceless and just took our breath away. The smile on our daughters face is one we will never forget thanks to Bobby. Her smile stayed the entire night! It was the most flawless wedding any bride and parents could ever hope for She told us she always dreamed of her dream wedding BUT never dreamed it would be as special as it was. DETAIL is what they do food, drinks, attendants for parents ,bride and groom, Thank God for wonderful Emma to bussel my daughters huge dress, music, lights, decor!! JUST all amazing.We all really wish we could do it all over again! AND we would not change a thing. It is truly sad that I can only give Bobby and Southern Oaks five stars in this review. No matter how many questions I asked, how many emails I sent (and how annoying I’m sure my mother and I both were), Lauren always responded so quickly, with such a great attitude, and answered every question in such detail. I could go on and on about how amazing they were leading up to the big day, but what brings me to actual tears is how they treated us the day of. First off, if you just visit Southern Oaks, you’ll see that the plantation sells itself. It’s truly something that you only see in movies and magazines..the Spanish moss on the trees, the perfectly manicured front lawn, all the way to the beautiful pool, lights, and horse stables in the backyard. The details inside are equally astounding..the music, chandeliers, décor, the different rooms spread out across the plantation, even the women’s restroom was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a picture perfect dream come true. The service that you get with the team is the other part that is almost impossible to put into words. I've heard horror stories of things going wrong the day of the wedding, or the bride experiencing mishaps at their venues. I can honestly say that every moment of our day was better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams,& absolutely nothing went even slightly wrong. Not once. They are the most well-oiled machine you will ever see..everything is so perfectly orchestrated, and there was never a single hiccup during our entire experience. On top of that, they exceeded every expectation I could have ever had for my wedding day. Mr. Bobby pulled out all the extra stops, from surprising me with my grand entrance in their Rolls Royce to a magnificent fireworks show that ended the ceremony. They made me feel like a real life princess from start to finish. Even the service we received throughout the entire reception never ceased to amaze us. Nick was our attendant that evening and I don’t think a single ice cube could melt in my drink before he was right beside me offering a new one (Nick, you were fantastic)! They make you feel like royalty from the second you step foot on their property, and I was so blown away by all of it. Our family and friends haven’t stopped RAVING about the venue, food, service, atmosphere and everything in between. We have heard over and over again from guests how it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I have zero doubts that they are telling the truth. I was an anxious bride that had always just hoped to survive the day of my wedding in one piece, but I can honestly say that I would do it over and over again if I could just because Southern Oaks made it an actual dream come true that I never wanted to end. I hope every bride can feel the perfection and magic that I did on my wedding day, and I’m 1000% sure that they would if they choose to get married here. When we booked with Southern Oaks Plantation we knew this was a great venue but we had no idea how GREAT it was going to be. I had champagne all night, they made sure we ate, made sure our families were doing okay, I mean you name it, they made sure it happened. now about the food.... THE BEST FOOD I HAVE HAD! wow just wow. the food kept coming from the moment everyone went in and it did not stop. I have had almost every single guest at the wedding comment on how great the food was. It was AMAZING. We took a little bit longer eating our dinner because we wanted more and more.. Honestly, the best decision we made was to book with Southern Oaks Plantation. We live in Houston so this was a destination wedding for us and I was very nervous as I did not get to go to LA and did not feel like I was as prepared as I should be? But oh my oh my, How AMAZING everyone at Southern Oaks Plantation made it to be. It was truly a magical wedding, a wedding to remember. We had guests come in from New Jersey and California many of which had never visited LA before and they were so amazed and loved every single thing about this venue. My husband and I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking and is not sure. Trust me, you will not regret it. Thank you Mr. Bobby and all the amazing staff for making all our dreams and even more come true! We could not have even imagined how perfect it was going to be, beyond our imagination. Thank you.

n. She was the sweetest person I had dealt with while going crazy trying to find a place to hold my wedding. She answered any questions I had and was so patient. I was later introduced to Mr. Bobby. Well he has that perfect southern charm and made us feel like he has been knowing us for years. We had our baby and he heard from Lauren that I am a huge Disney fan. Well hello, I use to work at Disney! Lol anyways, he gave our little girl a stuffed Minnie Mouse. It’s the little things that catches people’s attention. She still has it and carries it around all the time. The whole place made you feel like you were home! The absolute best! I will take you to the week of our weeding. I was a stressed bride to say the least. The day we went to drop some stuff off at the plantation, Lauren worked her magic and made everything so calm. I remember her always telling me “let us do the worrying, let us do the work!” And that they did. Now, night of my wedding they met us before the doors of the limo stopped. They are so orchestrated and has everything down to a science you, the bride, don’t have time to worry about this or that, they are already 10 steps ahead. Me. Bobby told my Matron of Honor “I have a little surprise for her!” Well holy smokes let me tell you! This man went above and beyond! Mickey and Minnie showed up at my wedding and to top it off I really got to have FIREWORKS at my wedding!!! The food was amazing! They have so much, so don’t worry about leaving hungry! Everyone that came to our wedding all agreed this was the best wedding they have ever been to. They are all still talking about it wanting to do it over so they can relive it. This is truest a magical place where DREAMS COME TRUE!

eaked havoc on New Orleans. The MSY airport was even closed on Saturday due to energy outages. Southern Oaks was not spared her wrath. By the morning, the damage to trees and vegetation in the area was widespread. Mr. Bobby quickly assembled all hands and cleared all the damage from the grounds. By the time we arrived for the one o'clock wedding there was absolutely no evidence that a storm had even occurred. After seeking out Mr. Bobby upon my arrival, to whom I had spoken to numerous times but never met, he apologized profusely for not being in a tuxedo due to the last minute clean up. He earnestly cares for every couple and wants there day to be perfect and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. My daughter's wedding followed her older sister's wedding seven weeks earlier, it was an expensive year, lol. The comparison between the two was remarkable. At my older daughter's wedding in New Jersey, where we are from, I was constantly badgered by the staff for every single detail during the reception, do you want us to do this, is this okay, should we put the food out now. At Southern Oaks, I had as much interaction with the staff, but it was more like, would you like another drink? Can I get you anything else? Thank you Jeremy, you helped make the day perfect. Secondly, the food. You will not go home hungry, the variety was amazing: praline chicken, gumbo, jambalaya, sliders with fries, just to mention a few and all cooked to perfection. They start serving food as soon as you walk in the door and don't stop until you leave. I highly recommend adding the Drago's grilled oysters enhancement, they were fantastic. Dragos grill the oysters outside by the pool and it gets people moving about. Thirdly, the price. Southern Oaks was an all inclusive venue. The value for the money is unrivaled. There are no hidden or last minute fees. Southern Oaks is a well oiled machine. This was a destination wedding for us. All of the vendors we dealt with kept telling us how much we were going to love Southern Oaks and they were not wrong. Thank you for a perfect day.

Mr. Bobby took ALL of it in ~ we're talking a massive amount of emails here ~ and created the absolute PERFECT wedding day that I envisioned; they are truly best in class and are such wonderful people to boot! The venue is stunning and they take immaculate care of the grounds; it's truly a marvel to see, especially at night!! My ceremony included details on a pre-event playlist for guests upon arrival, a horse & carriage entrance, fireworks, jazz band, timed music, coordination and entrances of specific individuals in my wedding party, and literally like magic, it all just came together spectacularly on our big day ~ EVERY single person that attended ~ over 100 guests again from all over the world, were so impressed and beyond awed at the experience Southern Oaks delivered. I had never heard so many superlatives used by my friends and family (all who have attended numerous weddings): "This was the PERFECT Wedding!", "This was hands down the BEST Wedding I've been to, and I've been to a LOT!" ~ these are direct quotes from our F&F and they KEPT saying it throughout the night! SOP's impeccable attention to detail and their passion for creating the best experience possible for their couples is truly remarkable & above all, GENUINE ~ they truly do care about making people 'incandescently happy' :). Of course ... the food was a sight ~ all so tasty ~ from the praline chicken to the charbroiled oysters and the excellent open bar ~ my guests wanted for nothing, and they LOVED the concept of a continuous hand-passed variety of food to sample throughout the night vs. a "single entree" selection - it's ingenious, really! Additionally, SOP really made everything so EASY as they have so much experience and continue to innovate by providing so many amazing little conveniences for their couples i.e. letting us borrow their second line umbrellas for a portion of the ceremony, providing cake stands, easels, having a photo booth avl w/staff on-hand to help, and thoughtful gestures such as packing up what was left of our wedding cake to make sure we had every flavor, a to-go box of the wonderful food, a bottle of champagne, having a personal attendant for myself, Mr. Bobby & Lauren personally helping to serve a quick private dinner for myself and my husband ~ so sweet ~ taking great care of our parents the entire night, and staff on-hand to guide us through moments like cutting our cake, picture opportunities and thoughtful tips ~ you just don't get this level of service everywhere ~ we truly felt like royalty & did I mention there are other special surprises they throw in on top of all of this?? It's so unreal...I don't want to give anything else away for other couples!!:) But seriously, if you are wondering about this venue and are also planning from afar (like I was) ~ TRUST THEM, they WILL listen to every question & concern you have, and it will be the BEST decision you make to book here if you are dreaming of that ideal NOLA storybook wedding...it's overwhelming to think of how amazing our big day was - Iike I said, I'm still floating! Can we do it again?!?!

esponsible. They assigned Lauren Burgess as the primary point of contact for our wedding and she remained attentive and friendly throughout. She seemed genuinely excited to be planning our wedding and was very easy to work with. SOP handles the majority of details for the ceremony and reception so it makes things easy on the bride and groom during the planning process. On the day of, they had individual people assigned to different roles taking care of specific people and things, and had a standardized process for preparing the bridal party for the ceremony, which was executed flawlessly. There are only two things I would do differently. During the ceremony itself I would have liked more guidance on where exactly to stand as bridge and groom...we ended up standing too far apart much of it! Secondly, we had planned a second-line during the reception and weren't advised until the week before that SOP usually doesn't do the second-lines outside. We ended up doing it outside anyway but only had two saxophones and neither of the originally requested drums, resulting in a weaker than desired sound. This was mostly just a miscommunication between SOP, the band, and us. Not a big deal; just make sure you get everyone on the same page for this early on. Everything else was honestly perfect, and I do not use that word lightly. The grounds were gorgeous, the staff courteous and attentive, the plan well thought out and executed, the reception fun, the bar easy, the food absolutely fantastic, and on and on. It was especially nice that during the reception, from start to finish, the SOP staff was constantly checking on us (bride and groom) to ensure we had everything we needed from drinks to change of clothes to even a new pair of socks! They were always respectful of our time, space, and privacy but never far when we needed them. One of the capstones for us was that the owner threw in a surprise fireworks and streamers show at the end of our ceremony! We had no idea it was coming! Many guests said our wedding was a "fairytale wedding," and they raved about the setting and food in particular. As many of them are high-performing professionals, this commentary is not frivolous or given without being earned. My wife and I would highly recommend you considering SOP for your wedding. We would choose them again in a heartbeat!

Clicking on the most comprehensive venue website I've ever come across, we were blown away by the simplification the venue offers. A well-laid out website lets you instantly calculate pretty much the entirety of the money you will have to budget for the event( they include the Dj, the food, dessert, the bar, the centerpieces, candles, bathroom amenities, the staff, the gratuity). The venue itself is so beautifully decorated throughout that you literally could show up with a bouquet and be done with it. My guests were doing photo shoots in the ladies room- it's that classy and beautiful. The venue is so well-priced for what you actually get- more delicious food than your guests could ever want ( so much love in this food.. southern favorites and family recipes paired with traditional fare), the lushest most romantic setting you could imagine, and interiors that rival the best five star hotels. The well-choreographed precision at which the staff is able to execute your perfect day,( headsets are used to communicate) is a comfort afforded to you when you need it most! They allow you to just show up and enjoy everything! The staff- they are the best!!! First of all, this is a family-owned business and it shows. Love vibes abound when you enter this place! The Asaro family will be like your family by the time this is over. Besides being classy and professional, they are just COOL. They are the kind of people you'd want in your squad full-time! They really do go above and beyond to ensure you have a fairy-tale day that your friends and family will be talking about for years. I planned my wedding from Chicago with ease. No stress! The extras offered at Southern Oaks are outstanding. We added almost all of them ( you should too! At the very least you MUST get the fireworks, band and parade! ) and were STILL UNDER BUDGET. My husband is a former hotel chain officer and I have worked for years in event planning/catering... YOU WILL NOT GET MORE FOR YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Two suggestions if you do book- 1. ADD THE EXTRA HOUR!!! 2. Skip all the speeches (or keep it short) and shorten the dances (have the dj fade out after a few verses). You'll be happy to have more time to eat etc.!! Problems we encountered ELSEWHERE- Some venues require a "certified wedding planner" (where do you even get one of those?), some don't allow flames, candles or sparklers, some don't provide food but force you to use one of their selected vendors, some are having multiple weddings at a time( I went to one of these recently and we ended up accidentally taking the wrong favors! Sorry Charlene and Mike, whoever you are), some make you call and ask for pricing, some charge for EVERY LITTLE THING! Don't waste money on a guestbook, cake cutting knives, special toasting glasses, cake stand rental fees etc. Southern Oaks takes care of it all. At the reception, someone compared my wedding to the one in "Crazy Rich Asians". You will feel like a princess on your wedding day, more importantly, you can relax. I promise it will be the best decision!!

They made my life so much easier, especially since I was planning our wedding from Atlanta. The open bar was a blessing, my husband and I never had to go up to the bar because our attendants were constantly giving us drinks. Every time we had to put our drink down and go take pictures or cut cake or whatever the millions things we had to do, we would turn around and HELLO HERE'S ANOTHER DRINK. God bless these people. I left my wedding turnt. Best day of my life. My husband and I would go back just to visit these people. Mr. Bobby is like your dad who just wants everything for his little girl to go right. That man calmed my nerves before walking down the aisle. Now, the only downside to this place is the short reception time we had. Myself and a few of our guests weren't ready for the party to end. 3 hours may seem like a long time, but it really wasn't. Especially for the Bride and the Groom, they don't get to enjoy it as much because they are being dragged around for pictures, and talking and just everything else. My husband and I just wanted to dance and enjoy our guests. This would have been possible if we didn't have such a time limit on the reception. OTHER THAN THAT. 9.9/10 would recommend. Southern Oaks is the best.

We really appreciate how Stacey and Bobby went above and beyond for us to make sure we had the best day. They exceeded our expectations when helping us with all the fine details beforehand. Emma, Jeremy, and Vince were absolutely outstanding.... I mean, talk about a dream team! They made sure my husband and I were always taken care of, and they were all so sweet and accommodating. Honestly though, it was a complete dream. We are so happy and grateful for everything! It was a fairytale! ✨

To throwing in some extras (including surprise fireworks on our wedding day!) to responding to our million and one emails, they went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was the best it could be (and then some). There is no amount of praise that will ever speak highly enough of Southern Oaks and its staff (or Lauren and Mr. Bobby) and the work that they do. We would do it over in a heartbeat!

was just perfect and very well thought out. My husband and I got engaged at Disney World and they took note of that. We had a surprise special visit from Mickey and Minnie. At the end of the night, they even surprised us with fireworks going off to the Soarin' soundtrack! We were extremely blessed to have had them make our day so incredibly magical. The food was amazing! Emma and Megan were our personal attendants and constantly made sure our drinks were full and we were having a great time. I cannot put into words how amazing Southern Oaks is.

A lovely, classic antebellum exterior with a stunning and sharp Art Deco interior. This place was literally made for photos. Food was delicious, and the amount of options is crazy! There’s something for everyone and every dietary need. Additionally, the have dessert if you have guests who don’t like cake or if you don’t want to serve cake. Our guests endlessly raved (and still are!) about Southern Oaks. We got so many comments on how beautiful the venue was and how much they loved the food. I wish more than anything I could go back and do it all again!

we narrowed down the locations, we settled on New Orleans for a November 2018 wedding. There were many venues to choose from, but there was something about Southern Oaks that kept drawing us back to their website. Once we scheduled a call with the Southern Oaks Team and had a friend who lived locally visit the venue, we knew we had found our venue. We both have high tempo jobs and did not want the extra stress of coordinating with multiple vendors, which is why Southern Oaks worked perfectly because they are a one stop shop. We booked the photographers, florist and bakery, while Southern Oaks handled the rest. Our wedding was November 15th and to say that our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. The staff handled every aspect of the wedding flawlessly. We were amazed at how well things came together being that we put in minimal effort on what’s supposed to be the best day of our lives. Our family and friends couldn’t believe how stress free we were about the entire process and were blown away by the grandness of the ceremony and reception. Honestly, we were even blown away by how magical their grounds and facilities were for our evening wedding. Everything came together perfectly; their service is top notch and we could do another review just on how great the food was alone. We had friends and family telling us that this was hands down the best wedding they’d ever been to and not being boastful because it was ours, but it was the best we’d been to as well. All in all, if you are looking for a wedding venue with “Southern Charm” to really engulf your guests in all the traditions of New Orleans we assure you this venue is it. They made our planning process so much easier than I could have imagined and were very responsive when we called or emailed any questions. The owners truly take pride in not only delivering quality service, but ensuring you and your guests have memories that will last a lifetime. we signed the contract and it was the best decision ever. From the first phone call up to the last dance, Mr. Bobby and his gracious staff handled my guest and the entire wedding party like royalty. Every question I had regarding my wedding was answered, this venue provides everything and they do not try to upsell you on items. There are no hidden fees, upcharges or surprises. Well, the surprises are what your guest will experience. My wedding was Magical, Grand and Royal. Everything was smooth and effortless, the staff operates this place like a well oiled machine. There is no running around, no one is confused and you, the wedding party and family members are assigned a concierge that ensures your culinary/drink needs are met. The Food: It is not your typical wedding plate of chicken, fish or buffet. This place provides a Taste of New Orleans, I mean your guest will not stop talking about what they ate, how good the food was and how much food was being passed. Amazing flavors and a huge variety. There is no waiting, once the reception starts the food is being passed, this style was great because it also eliminated the hassle of seating charts, open seating was also another reason I loved this place. Enhancements: I chose to have a New Orleans Style Brass Band, Horse and Carriage, Carving Station and Fireworks, which made it a very grand time, my guest were over stimulated with surprises. During the time of our wedding, my husband and I was experiencing a difficult time and Mr. Bobby had a surprise for us, he upgraded our fireworks package to River Fireworks, it was like the 4th of July in September. The sky was lit up over the River.. all for us. The Venue: This place is gorgeous on the inside and outside. The outside has huge moss filled oak trees with a beautiful historic fountain as you enter, it's really picturesque and well kept grounds. Behind the Mansion there is plenty parking for your guests and a stable and swimming pool where the beautiful white horse are kept. Your guest can sit outside and enjoy the cafe tables where the music from inside is piping outside for their enjoyment. Inside every room is gorgeous, the place has a timeless feel with a real richness that provides grandeur. Jeremy, Lauren and Mariah customer service just impeccable, I can also tell that this is a great place to work. They all really work in sync and the professionalism, I just cannot state it enough. I will always remember my wedding day and cherish the wonderful memories because of the staff here, the owner and the venue. My guests are still calling and saying how this was by far the best wedding they have ever attended. Most of my guest have become wedding snobs because of their experience here. I honestly can’t rave enough about this venue and if I could I would get married every year just so I could come back to this amazing place!! e best thing about them was their one-stop price, which took away from us having to make catering decisions, DJ decisions, or decorating decisions, as that was all included in the price. The location is beautiful and I loved our pictures from in front of the venue. Our attendants were amazing and provided everything we needed throughout the day. My one wish for my wedding was the be able to eat, dance, and enjoy myself. I expressed this and Southern Oaks made sure this happened. Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Sue were hands on and I actually met them several times during my planning process. Our coordinator Lauren was FABULOUS throughout and always answered my questions promptly. I wish I could give them 10 stars because they deserve it. They made my wedding a dream come true and I can't thank them enough for it. My guests also raved about the food and amount of food. I also enjoyed my husband and I's private dinner space during the wedding where we could eat alone together. They also made sure to have our favorite drinks on hand at all times, along with our parents' favorite drinks. Southern Oaks is the place to book for effortless and enjoyable wedding planning and day.

moment we booked Southern Oaks to the final seconds of our wedding it was smooth and beautiful. First off, the venue is ABSOLUTELY stunning! Our guests could not and still can't stop raving about how beautiful Southern Oaks was, which we agree. Southern Oaks has the planning process so well organized that they leave little room for any unanswered questions; which makes sense since they went to the Disney School of Concierge. (And Mr. Asaro had a Mickey Mouse pin on his lapel to prove it) Stacey was so attentive to our needs and wants as well as accommodating. We were a destination wedding couple so we only got to see the venue once and she walked us through the whole venue and timeline months before the ceremony which helped ease some of our nerves, not that we had many. Stacey also told us about Plan B in case it rained on our wedding day. Well I am glad she did tell us because it rained all day on the day of the wedding. However, Mr. Asaro was watching the weather channel app and he was able to find a nice gap where the rain stopped and we were able to have our ceremony outside, which is what we wanted!! What impressed me the most was how attentive the whole staff was to us as the bride and groom but also to our guests. As the bride and groom it was almost like we had our own personal assistants at our fingertips, which was amazing. We also really liked that we had a private room to eat dinner just the two of us because at a lot of weddings the bride and groom don't eat, so that alone time was nice. And the food was AMAZING!! Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious and unending the food was. Next, we loved all the little extras you could add on, which we did the photo booth, horse drawn carriage and fireworks. Everyone was so amazed by the fireworks and could not believe what they were seeing. I truly felt like a fairytale princess on the day of my wedding. Finally, as I stated before, Southern Oaks is just a beautiful venue in and of itself. There are so many different picturesque opportunities on the venue- but a favorite amongst all guests, the LOVE sign. I can't tell you how many of our guests went and took pictures out there, even in the rain. We truly loved every moment of our wedding at Southern Oaks and would happily do it all over again!! . They promised the world and they delivered the galaxy! We met in New Orleans 7 years ago and currently live in New York. We had 180 people travel from out of town to experience the city that we love and Southern Oaks provided the true New Orleans experience. They impressed every single person at the wedding and gave us the night of our lives. Being from the North East, weddings are usually 5 hours long and involve a cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and more. Originally I wasn’t sure how the family and friends would take to the New Orleans style wedding… well let me put any future couples fears to bed now. Our wedding will be talked about for years to come and Southern Oaks made that possible. They heard every last request and calmed all of our fears. At one point after our walk through I called Lauren at Southern Oaks for one last question and before I could even ask she said “I know why your calling.” Sure enough, she did and had already made the change I was calling to request. They even added some amazing surprises to really make our night special. Our parents were taken care of throughout the night by personal attendants who made sure they were treated like royalty. They could not stop talking about how thrilled they were with the staff, the venue and the entire night. Unfortunately, it rained on the evening of our wedding, and both Mr. Bobby and Lauren remained positive and encouraged us to wait until the weather passed, so we could still have our dream wedding outdoors. The decor is exquisite, and the service is impeccable. Jeremy and Meghan waited on us hand and foot, and made sure our day was perfect. The cuisine is unbelievably delicious! The fireworks, hot dog stand, sushi, premium bar, horse and carriage are an absolute must! You will not be let down with these gorgeous venue!

And it was the absolute best decision we have ever made. Southern Oaks is truly everything you read about and so so much more that can’t be captured in writing. From the horse and carriage, incredibly talented jazz band, the stunning grounds, insane food, perfect decor, and all the other bells and whistles (seriously, we could go on and on!), SOP was above and beyond our wildest dreams. We feel such a deep sense of gratitude to the SOP family for giving us the best night of our lives.

Many of our guests told us that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to and that the food was amazing. It was beautiful and felt like a fairytale wedding with the carriage and all of the lights outside. booked this venue a little less than 8 months before my wedding day. I worked with Lauren Burgess from day 1 and she is amazingggg. Everyone said I was crazy and that 8 months was not enough time but due to the all inclusive nature of Southern Oaks and the professionalism of the staff, it totally was.I live in Houston TX and was only able to make it to New Orleans 2 times before my wedding. I was never worried during the planning process and all came together without a hitch. I could never have imagined having more of a fairytale wedding. I owe the entire day to these people. They also threw in a few unexpected extras to make the day even better. So many guests have told us this was the best wedding they have ever been to and definitely unique. It almost brings me to to tears how great this day was and it is all thanks to Lauren, Bobby( the owner), Jeremy & all the rest of the wonderful staff at Southern Oaks. Everyone was amazed when the horse drawn carriage pulled up with my husband and daughter. As the twinkle of all the lights that filled the surroundings were ignited, it took our breath away! The jazz band lead us into the reception with a Second Line and fueled the celebration! Truly NOLA at it's best! Food and drinks steadily flowed as guests signed the couples congrats portrait, took snapshots in the photo booth, relaxed and chatted at poolside, while the DJ made his mark with the couple's mix of music as we danced the night away! "A Taste of Mardi Gras Parade", (1st SOP wedding parade) with festive floats, costumes, beads, trinkets, jazz band playing Mardi Gras music, and the newlyweds in horse drawn carriage. To top it off, an added bonus of more fireworks! It was an explosion of pure delight and merriment! Everyone in attendance said it was the "BEST WEDDING EVER!" We wanted our daughter and son-in-law's wedding to be memorable! It was MEMORABLE and REMARKABLE! They were so helpful with last minute requests (such as needing fabric tape!) and clearly wanted to make sure we were happy. Mr. Bobby even set up several surprises we were grateful for. At Southern Oaks, they treat you like royalty, which says a lot since they have anywhere from 1-5 weddings a weekend. I cannot say enough about their team, we worked mostly with Taylor and Lauren and WOW, what superstars. Mr. Bobby and his wife Sue are also some of the sweetest and most accommodating people on the face of the planet. Now, into some of the details that you receive when you book this venue for your wedding: FOOD, AMAZING FOOD, unlimited booze, gorgeous ambiance, horses in a hand-drawn carriage, fireworks, personal attendants, pre-arranged tables and decorations, and did I mention FOOD. I mean, really this place has no flaws. If you are a local bride or especially an out-of-town one, Southern Oaks is the place for you. They'll take care of it all and just let you enjoy your special night. I'm tellin' ya, 10 stars!!!

st was SOP. I was mesmerized. I must admit, I was afraid to click on the price link. I just knew this gorgeous venue was out of my budget but if I tell you that not only was it the best priced out of all the venues, it was also all inclusive. I met with the owner, Bobby Asaro, who showed us around. He was so helpful and answered all our questions. You could clearly see that he takes great pride in his establishment and it’s all about the customer. We booked it immediately. The email exchange with SOP throughout the year was timely, staff were extremely helpful and such a pleasure to work with. The week before the wedding we (my fiancé and I) went for the rehearsal. Lauren Burgess was amazing. She answered all our questions, explained how the day would go and essentially told us all we had to do was enjoy our special day and leave all the details to them. The day of the wedding, I cannot begin to tell you how attentive staff were to all our guests. They made sure we (my fiancé and I) ate and guarded the entry so that we would not be disturbed, they were bringing us food quicker than we could eat it and drinks. The service was phenomenal. They coordinated all the details with such precision and took care of all the highlights (ie. cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.) so that we could enjoy the reception. At the end, they prepared 2 boxes for us, one with cake and the other with various food items as well as a bottle of champagne. All of my guests were so impressed with the venue. They are still telling me it was the best wedding ever. I honestly cannot think of one thing that did not go as planned – SOP made our special day flawless and so memorable. I am truly grateful to everyone at SOP. I highly recommend.

They have a FANTASTIC list of recommended vendors- I used Michael Caswell Photography, The Royal Cakery, and Bella Blooms Floral, and all exceeded my expectations. I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, so none of my out-of-town guests had ever seen anything like southern oaks, from the fireworks to the staff who serves dinner to you wherever you are on the grounds all night. We had so many compliments of it being "the best wedding they had ever been to" !! I felt like a princess the way that someone was always making sure my drink was full and guiding me to all the steps that needed to be done before dancing ALL night on the dance floor. Southern Oaks was the best experience I could have ever asked for, and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone looking for a gorgeous, fun, tasteful, carefree, wedding of your dreams!!!
