DANA IS AWESOME! My husband and I got married in November of 2022 and we could not have done it without Dana. She was so on top of the timeline and coordination of all of our vendors. As someone who likes to plan early, she was so good at keeping me focused on the most important things first. She made for a very stress-free planning process. She is someone I look up to now and I know I always have a friend in her! Thank you, Dana! We love you.

I don’t even know where to begin….Dana truly made my day magical by taking care of everything and letting me enjoy the day. I was hesitant in the idea of a planner because I was trying to stick to a strict budget so the “month of” planning option was ideal. I used to think it was a luxury to have a wedding planner in any capacity, but I now know it is an absolute necessity if you are wanting to be present in your day and enjoy it, as I was able to do thanks to Dana. Truly, if I had to choose between Dana and one of the other necessary vendors, I would do without something else just to have her there.

I got engaged in December 2021 and immediately hit the ground running with wedding planning! By the first week of January, I had secured a wedding date for 10/22/22 at my dream wedding venue, Renaissance Ross Bridge and a fun band. I had all the hopes that Between me, my mom, and my mother-in-love we could easily plan the wedding of my dreams. A week later, I remember texting my mom and telling her I could no longer plan the wedding and asked if we could hire a wedding planner. I found Southern Styled Events thanks to The Knot and immediately knew I needed to reach out for help! I chose the partial planning package since I had already locked in venue, etc and had the pleasure of getting to work with Dana Baswell! Dana is a true queen! She took all of my random ideas and desires and helped me to fill in the gaps/details that I had no idea I needed. Dana was always there for me when I had random questions or just wanted to share exciting updates with her during the months leading up to wedding day. She met us at our venue on on multiple occasions and each meeting made me even more thankful to have her on my team. She sent me checklists as we got closer to our wedding date and On wedding weekend, she handled everything for us from rehearsal, to vendor setups on wedding day, decorating for the ceremony and reception, the list goes on. Our wedding day was a dream. My family is still raving about how little stress there was on wedding day and how happy and thankful they are that I came to my senses and Insisted that we had to have SSE. Thank you again for everything!

The wedding date went great! Dana did a lot of extra work to make our day special. I had her for day of planning and she did so much to keep the day drama free for me. She worked with my mother in law closely to help everyone enjoy the day. Definitely recommend!

Dana was the best!! We had her for the “day of coordinator”. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day!

Kelsea was the wedding coordinator for my daughters wedding and she was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish! I can’t say enough good things about her and would highly recommend Southern Styled Events.

My daughter chose Southern Styled Events to do her wedding planning. Kelsea was awesome to work with! I had a lot of nerves built up from this being my only daughter and first wedding I had to plan. Kelsea made it go much smoother. After the very first meeting, Kelsea put my mind at rest and I knew we had made the right chose. She was so organized, patient, prompt, professional and answered any questions or concerns I had. I can’t say enough good things about her. I could not have made it without her. She really is the best!! You will not regret your decision if you chose SSE for your wedding planning. They truly are great right from the beginning until the end. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.

We worked with SSE for our 2022 wedding and it was WONDERFUL. After it was all over, my mom said that working with Dana was one of the best decisions we made. Dana was my primary planner, however I was able to meet and work with several members of her team throughout the wedding weekend and would absolutely feel comfortable trusting my big day to any member of the SSE team. They were responsive, helpful, kind, and easy to work with. I also chose month-of planning, and honestly wish now that I had done the full planning package once I saw how much stress it took off of me when Dana took things over.

Dana was absolutely AMAZING throughout my wedding process! She was professional, thorough, had great relationships with multiple vendors, and made sure everything went smoothly on my wedding day! We could not have had our perfect wedding day without her!!

One thing I knew I wanted as we were planning our wedding was a planner to walk us through the experience and to be there for us on the day of. It didn't take long after meeting Dana to know she was the right planner for us! She walked me throughout the entire process with regular check-ins & to do list, and she talked me down from the ledge anytime I was overwhelmed or having anxiety about the stresses that come with planning a wedding. She was also our biggest cheerleader when it came to all of the milestones that came along with the joys of this stage of life. The best decision we made during our planning process was to hire Dana who is now a lifelong friend! If I had it to do over again, I would hire Dana every time!

We used Southern Styled Events for our wedding on March 26. We used the “Month Of Coordinator” option. Kelsea was absolutely amazing in supporting and helping me plan the day. She was 100% on point with coordinating the vendors and managing all the logistics. I could not have asked for a better experience! I am truly going to miss Kelsea.

Dana Baswell is an absolute dream! From our very first phone call, she helped put my mind at ease. I planned my Auburn wedding from Virginia, and she happily helped me figure out logistics via 3-way phone call meetings with my mom. In those meetings, she pointed out the holes in our planning and helped create our to do lists before out next scheduled meeting. On the day of the wedding, she ensured everything went smoothly. She was the calm in the chaos of an absolutely incredible day. Thank you, Dana!!!

Dana is AMAZING! I could not be more grateful to have had her there with me on my wedding day! From our first meeting prior to our wedding, the rehearsal & down to the wedding day, she was super helpful & a delight to work with. She possesses a unique ability to be assertive and pay attention to every detail that is happening (which is ALOT) while being kind and super enjoyable to be around. Bridesmaids & family, who have all worked with various coordinators themselves even made comments about how awesome she was! 10/10 recommend!

There are not enough words to describe the fantastic job Kelsea did for my daughter’s wedding. I used the partial planning service, and it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend Southern Styled Events - professional, attentive and a joy to work with!

Kelsea is a literal godsend. I hired her as my day of/month of planner and she was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I cannot recommend her enough. Unbelievably reasonable prices and unmatched service and expertise. You’d be crazy not to hire these ladies.

Dana with Southern Styled Events was truly a wonderful wedding planner! Dana is organized, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about the wedding community in Birmingham. She was present for our small ceremony in March 2020 with only our parents there, and she was happy for us like it was the actual day we planned for! Her excitement was so appreciated during such uncertain times. And then she stuck with us through the highs and lows of rescheduling our reception MULTIPLE times during the pandemic. And then she celebrated us again and again and was present during our day not just as our wedding planner, but as our friend. She is very easy to communicate with, she answers emails and texts quickly, and she is very organized - everything you would hope for in a wedding planner.

Dana was AWESOME. We couldn't have got through the day without her. She made sure everything went smoothly! She even had a fan ready when we were hot outside taking pictures. She thought of everything and we had an amazing and stress free day all because of her! We will recommend Southern Styled Events to anyone recently engaged! Thank you Dana!

Dana is absolutely amazing! Not only is she such a sweetheart, but she is darn good at her job too. Dana helped coordinate my wedding back in 2018. It was such a blessing working with her. If you’re looking for an intentional woman with a huge love for her clients and work… Dana is your girl!!

Where do I even begin?!! Dana helped create my day into more than I could have ever imagined! From making executive decisions and communicating with vendors, she does it all! Using Southern Styled Events was the best decision we made regarding our wedding. Dana was absolutely amazing to work with - she was punctual, professional and honestly the sweetest human being ever. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, we probably spoke every single day. She always responded immediately and if not immediately, in a timely manner. Dana also coordinated with all our vendors and got everything planned perfectly! My wedding day was completely care free and I mean completely. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and made our wedding day perfect. Even our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family were talking about how fabulous she was weeks after the wedding. All in all, I could not recommend Southern Styled Events enough!
