We had my daughter’s ceremony at Lois Perkins Chapel for her wedding. It is beautiful! The staff at the chapel is helpful. There is plenty of parking and beautiful places to take p...
ictures both inside and out.
My husband graduated from Southwestern University in 2013 and I graduated in 2015, so having our ceremony on campus was more special than we could have imagined! Everyone we worked...
with (Xan, Dyana, Debi, Pam) was very helpful and communicative during our entire engagement. Lois Perkins Chapel is absolutely gorgeous, holds a very large number of guests, and has a beautiful organ! We look forward to visiting our alma mater in the future and remembering how special and perfect our wedding day was!
Perkins Chapel is perfect in its simple elegance. My husband and I are Catholic but we loved the simple beauty of Perkins and decided to have our Catholic ceremony there instead of...
in a Catholic church. The pictures are stunning! However, Perkins is pricey for a ceremony venue and it has strict rules regarding vendors and time. Before booking, make sure you are comfortable with those rules. In addition, I was only able to get ahold of someone from the venue when it was about two months out from our wedding. Before then, my calls and emails were never returned. Not good for a Type A bride!
Perkins Chapel is absolutely beautiful! Our daughter and son in law were married here last weekend, 30 years after my husband and I were married in the same church. Perkins Chapel ...
is so exquisite, there is no need to add many flowers or decorations. I highly recommend this venue!
Perkins is beautiful, but if I hadn't had the experience of attending University Worship there while I was a student the HORRIBLE service would not have been worth it to me. First ...
off, no one responds to your phone calls, and it is extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone after they take your money. Second of all, you have to deal with the poor excuse for a music director they have, Ben K. Though it is completely unnecessary for him to be there during the wedding day, but if he is going to be there he could at least stay out of the way. He is in numerous (at least 30) of my wedding photos walking through the back ground or creepily staring down from the balcony.
Finally, the music restrictions are out of control. You can only play what Ben deems "classical" (must be written in the 1800s) or Christian music. Would you like to have an instrumental version of your favorite current song played? The chapel rules don't go against it but he will not allow it. So glad I don't have to deal with Perkins Theology people anymore.
I am a Southwestern alum and have dreamed of getting married in the Lois Perkins Chapel since attending college at Southwestern. My wedding couldn't have been more perfect or beaut...
iful! I wouldn't have had it anywhere else. Everyone I worked with throughout the planning process was so helpful and friendly. I had a great experience all around. I also had so many guests compliment on how amazing and beautiful the Chapel was. You won't be disappointed if you choose this spectacular chapel. There's nothing else that compares to it.
Amazing venue. We had a Christmas-time evening wedding that was remarkable, and I still hear many years later from people that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever att...

In 2009 my daughter married in the Chapel at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. It has to be one of the most beautiful chapels in the state. The first time I entered i...
t,I felt that I had stepped back in time and was visiting a European cathedral. It is simply breathtaking.
Our experience with the staff was exceptional. Our every need was anticipated and met with warmth and support for whatever we needed to make that day special for not only my daughter, but our family. Each time we requested that the chapel be open for us for either the wedding portrait, music rehearsal, or wedding rehearsal, someone met us with a smile and a willingness to accommodate us.
Our sincere thanks goes to the staff at Southwestern University for making our experience such a memorable one.
The best part of getting married at Perkins is the privilege of being married at Perkins. This sounds stupid, but that is the only way I can describe it. This is a beautiful church...
on a beautiful street of a beautiful campus. Thousands of girls in Dallas, and particularly at SMU, wait for years to be married there. When you get married at Perkins, you should not expect much "customer service," but it is beyond worth it.
I had the opportunity to coordinate a wedding here in July, and it was a wonderful experience! The staff was great to work with via email leading up to the event (with Xan), as wel...
l as during the rehearsal and on the day of (with Dyana and Michael).
A great perk that I loved was that the bridal suite area is completely separate from the groom's quarters. We didn't have to worry about the Bride and Groom seeing one another before the ceremony, which was a breath of fresh air from a coordinator's perspective.
On top of having a great experience with the Lois Perkins venue and staff, it's pretty hard to top the beauty of the chapel. Seriously stunning! The stained glass windows, as well as the dramatic front steps (perfect for a faux "send-off") were my favorite parts.
I would definitely recommend any couple to take a look at this beautiful, beautiful space. There are tons reception venues in the Georgetown/Round Rock area where you could continue the celebration too!

Since I walked onto the SU campus, I knew I wanted to get married at the Lois Perkins Chapel. It is a stunning venue--large enough to accommodate huge weddings, but still feels int...
imate for smaller weddings. The stained glass is gorgeous and the university surroundings make it an ideal location. The staff is so easy to work with and gives great vendor recommendations for musicians! Loved every minute of our wedding ceremony!
I attended SU in the late 1990's and was married in LPC. The university staff were delightful to work with. Our reception was also held on campus and catered by the campus as well...
. We highly recommended the chapel as a venue.
Gorgeous chapel to be married in! Beautiful wedding pictures in every angle of the chapel because of the exquisite structure, interior and landscape. Landmark location, convenie...
nt parking, and incredible acoustics ~ I would highly recommend this venue!!!
Absolutely beautiful chapel. Great resources and staff. Very affordable. They have a piano and organ available. Perfect location!
Excellent service, care, and beauty.
Perkins is a beautiful location. The downside is the strict rules you must follow. Also, they are very unresponsive. We were able to book the church but I could never get them t...
o call me back when I had a question (I think I called them a total of two times over 10 months) so I had to get my husband on them. We called a few days before the wedding to ensure everything was still set and still no response. It's a beautiful venue so not much floral needed, nor are many decorations allowed. Girls, take a fan downstairs if you get married there during the summer.
