Spagnolo Photography is a Boston, MA-based husband and wife team that photographs weddings, elopements, and engagements in their own low pressure, candid, and documentary style. For over 15 years, they have covered weddings in castles, mansions, museums, aquariums, cruise ships, backyards, barnyards, and campsites. For them, it is a privilege (and a whole lot of fun) to document love stories.
Founders Aaron and Nanore Spagnolo have worked together for more than a decade as wedding photographers. For 16 years Aaron worked in photojournalism and commercial photography, and became an approved photographer by the U.S. Secret Service. He has worked for major companies like Harvard, MIT, Pfizer, and The Huffington Post. He began covering weddings exclusively after being asked to shoot a celebrity wedding over a decade ago, and fell in love with the niche. With a master's degree in conflict resolution, Nanore has been a photojournalist (and journalist) for various newspapers, covering stories locally and internationally. As a wedding photographer, she is committed to understanding the couple’s relationship in order to best capture it on camera. Together, they are a dynamic duo, excited to work creatively in different environments, lighting, and angles.
As weddings are made unique by the people celebrating at them, Aaron and Nanore want to document everyone’s individual contribution to the overall story of the day, no matter how great or small. Their tendency towards candid photography creates a well-rounded, balanced memento of the day.
Engagement photoshoots from Spagnolo Photography allow Aaron and Nanore to understand the dynamic between the couple. This then grants them insight into how best to showcase their relationship through images. Final images are available in an online gallery, for couples to peruse and print at their leisure. Aaron and Nanore were excellent additions to our wedding day! They both have a great eye for picturesque, candid shots which was exactly what we were looking for. Even though we felt a bit awkward during posed shots, both Aaron and Nanore helped us feel more at-ease and comfortable. During the reception, they perfectly blended in with others, taking excellent candid photos of us, our guests, and the scenery that we set up for our special day.
Would recommend anyone looking for skilled photographers to hire Spagnolo Photography for their wedding! They were well worth it, and we couldn't imagine looking back on our wedding without their photos. Thanks again, Aaron and Nanore!
Aaron and Nanore were one of the best additions for our wedding. Not only did they provide us with absolutely SUPERB quality photos that we can look back on and cherish our special day for the rest of our lives, but they also were so much fun to be around, extremely creative with so many spontaneous shots that we would have never thought of just from the environment around us, and knew how to ease our stresses when it came to anything photography related. There were no moments missed with this dynamic duo and I hope for another event where I need photographers soon just so we can see them again! We were fortunate enough to have Aaron do our engagement and our weddings shoots. He was AMAZING. I literally cannot say enough good things. Not only is he ridiculously talented and does truly top-notch work (more than a caliber above most other work we looked at when picking our photographer), he was an absolute pleasure to interact with through and through. My husband and I connected with Aaron from the minute we met him- we had so much in common and we truly had a blast in all of our interactions. We sincerely intend to keep him among our friends. Aaron and Nanore are both so easy to work with- they are both very friendly and personable, and are extremely communicative throughout the whole process. Neither my partner or I are comfortable in front of the camera, but they were able to put us at ease and made the whole experience fun. In my search for a wedding photographer, Aaron’s unique and creative work immediately caught my eye and I knew I had to hire him. I’m so glad I did. Aaron is an exceptionally talented photographer with a fine art and editorial approach. This was important to me as I didn’t want the staged, cheesy shots that most wedding photographers produce. Aaron had a vision for each and every shot, and shooting with him was a wonderful adventure. My husband and I were initially worried about posing but he guided us every step of the way and made us feel so comfortable, and by the end of the engagement shoot we felt like pros. This made our wedding photos feel like a breeze. The results are incredible; beautiful pieces of art that we will treasure forever. On top of all that, Aaron and his wife Nanore are so kind and such an awesome team. They made sure everything was perfect so we had one less thing to worry about. They are such great people and we felt supported by them throughout the whole journey.

Aaron is simply awesome, and is a pleasure to work with! We booked him to photograph our wedding (and a post-wedding shoot), and we couldn't have been happier with the experience.
He is warm/friendly, professional, patient, and was a good communicator throughout the entire process. He captured so many magical wedding moments, candid and staged, at our wedding which we'd never get tired of looking at. For the post-wedding shoot, Aaron suggested an excellent location in Andover. We had a myriad of stunning shots and we are obsessed with many of them. Aaron is truly gifted at what he does and thanks to him, we have the photos we wanted to remember our wonderful day! Also, he was super punctual and reached the wedding venue even before the bride/groom parties arrived.

Wedding planning during the pandemic as with everything else, was hard. Not being able to meet your photographer in person is even harder, but with Aaron and Nanore, it never felt like that.
After our initial call with them, we knew that we found the right couple to photograph our wedding. They were warm, friendly, accommodating and the pictures we saw were just the ones we were looking to get for our wedding.
Aaron is one of the most accommodating person I have ever met. When it came time for our engagement shoot, Aaron checked in on us often and kept us up to date with weather reports and location suggestions. Unfortunately, we hit a string of bad weather where any date we picked seemed to have a thunderstorm follow it. We were worried we would never be able to get our engagement pictures taken, but Aaron was quick to ease our minds and helped us reschedule and made sure we got the perfect shots.
On the day of the wedding, Aaron and Nanore were integral in the success of our wedding. Aaron controlled the entire space with ease, making sure we got the shots we wanted and made sure our guests did not get in the way of the shots. Nanore went out of her way to make sure to get all the little details and capture the candid moments throughout the day. Most importantly, they checked in on us often and made sure we were able to take a breath and grab a bite to eat.
We cannot recommend Aaron and Nanore enough. Beyond the wonderful pictures we received, their bright personalities and their caring nature shined through the more time you spend with them. You will not be disappointed by choosing Aaron and Nanore for your big day.
We can't say enough positive things about Spagnolo Photography! We had both our engagement and wedding pictures done by Spagnolo Photography and love the photos. They make the process comfortable and fun and are always responsive to any questions. We couldn't imagine working with anyone else!
Aaron did an amazing job with our engagement session this October. He was always very responsive, and helped us feel comfortable with our first couples shoot! Plus, the pictures we took in downtown Seaport turned out beautifully!
Aaron & Nanore did an amazing job covering our wedding. Their cool and laid back attitude took a lot of stress out of our wedding planning. On the big day they arrived on time and at the correct locations to get pictures of me and my bride before going to the ceremony. After our first look Aaron and Nanore spotted several great locations around the venue to get some scenic and close up portraits. During the reception guests asked about who our photographers were and loved how they stayed out of guests way, but we’re still able to grab some amazing and memorable photographs. Spagnolo Photography was even able to deliver us about 20 preview photos while we were on our honeymoon. A full digital album was delivered a few weeks later and the pictures were definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend Spagnolo Photography if your in the market for a wedding photographer or any event where u want some great pictures to remember the day by.

Aaron was great to work with. He had a ton of "trade secrets" of great places to take photos and had a lot of cool tips that are great, especially for a couple that may not have a clear idea of what they want to do. We didn't end up moving forward as we found another photographer that fit our needs a bit better but definitely enjoyed hearing Aaron's input and expertise.
Aaron was great to work with, especially during this crazy year. He is very talented, with an artistic eye, but also very down-to-earth and was willing to be flexible as our plans changed due to covid restrictions. He arrived early and was willing to stay later than originally planned. We highly recommend talking to Aaron and Nanore. While there are plenty of options out there, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again (and are already thinking about it, once we can host a bigger celebration).
Aaron and Nanore were awesome from the moment we contacted them. Every and all communication were so prompt, and they were on top of everything even until the day of.
I initially contacted them because of all the subtlety they caught that I've noticed in their portfolios. Of course, there are some poses here and there, but nothing felt forced. Everything seemed so natural and when we saw previews of our wedding photos, they really did catch the personalities of party.
Favorite part of the whole session is the photos near the cows at the Barn at Gibbet Hill. As we were going up the hill to the ceremony location, they noticed some great views and a beautiful tree to take beautiful shots. We did have to walk through the cow dungs, but Aaron and Nanore both walked ahead of us and made sure we did not step in them or get our clothes dirty both back and forth from the shot locations.
I've reached out to many photographers and Aaron and Nanore provided outstanding quality and a package that no one else can compete even in terms of pricing.
They were so popular, a lot of my guests asked for their information AND our family from Texas squeezed in a photo session to celebrate their 1 year old baby milestone.

My husband and I could not have asked for a better wedding photographer and the pictures from our wedding came out perfect (and we did not have to wait long to get the full wedding album!). Aaron was also extremely flexible and willing to work with me after I had to reschedule the date and place of my wedding due to the pandemic, for which I was so grateful since I've heard so many stories where brides working with other photographers have not been so lucky! Aaron and Nanore helped to make our small wedding of 20 people feel extra special and they blended right into the mix while taking beautiful photos of us and our families. My husband and I are both not used to having "professional" photos taken of us and Aaron and Nanore put us at ease and made the whole experience a lot of fun. We worked with Aaron and Nanore for our engagement pictures in July of 2020. From the beginning, Aaron and Nanore were amazing! They were able to create pictures that really captured us as a couple. Upon receiving our pictures, I cried! They were so beautiful! I could not recommend them enough!
Aaron was our photographer on our wedding day. We were originally due to get married in April 2020, but due to the pandemic, decided to elope at City Hall in October 2020. Aaron was so accommodating and patient. I (bride) was extremely late and we were unable to take first look pictures but he still found a way to make it work and the moment felt extremely special. We couldn't have done it without him. He was also able to send us a few pictures a couple of days later and they were beautiful. He was always extremely responsive both via email and phone. I will most definitely hire again and recommend Spagnolo Photography for any wedding photography needs.

We had our wedding in New York (Long Island - non religious ceremony) and even had our engagement shoot done with them as well. I can't pose for a photo for the life of me and they just captured all of the pure joy and love we shared on our day. They had so many great ideas for unique shots. They knew the venues and where to get the best photos, even with changing the hotel at the last minute. They didn't tell us what to do, just let us be ourselves and enjoy our day. Then produced STUNNING photos! So many candid moments and beautiful photos - that we waited for the waves to crash just right on. Aaron and Nanore were absolutely fabulous for our wedding. Photography was thing that I cared about most for the wedding, besides marrying my husband. Both Aaron and Nanore were not only amazing to work with, but captured the day and our personalities perfectly. It was literally the best decision we made. The wedding day goes by so quickly and I even have a hard time remembering most of it, but because we now have so many beautiful pictures and special moments captured I get to relive the day over and over again. What I loved most about this dynamic duo was their ability to be creative. I didn't want pictures that we were just standing and smiling at the camera. Some of my favorite pictures were when Aaron suggested I twirl in my dress and when Nanore caught me making funny faces at my bridesmaids. Nanore and Aaron were truly awesome to work with. From the initial meeting, they were professional and very personable. The way I picked my vendors might have been a little different than some brides I needed to like your work and needed to enjoy the person or people themselves as people since they are going to be part of my big day. Aaron and Nanore were those people, they were fantastic from the first meeting always easy to get in touch with when needed always answered all my questions. If you can look at their work you can see they are truly talent and I am beyond in love with my photos they captured the enjoyment of the night which means the world seeing how much my friends and family enjoyed themselves and more candid photos that show our personalities. They made the whole process so easy and seamless , if you want some awesome people to take spectacular photos of your wedding, these two are it. I would pick them again in a heart beat

We really enjoyed working with Aaron and Nanore! They were relaxed and helpful as we figured out where we wanted to shoot our pre-wedding formal photos. During our ceremony and reception, they were so unobtrusive and yet still managed to get incredible shots. They are exceptionally talented photographers. We wanted to avoid fake looking or cheesy photos and instead wanted natural, candid, beautiful photos. Aaron and Nanore excel at these type of shots. We are so pleased with the way our photos turned out. I would absolutely use them again!

We hired Spagnolo Photography for our daughter's engagement photos and wedding in June. My daughter wanted a lot of candids and many detail shots (she wore jewelry with sentimental meaning, and her very artistic friends helped with the decorations and centerpieces). We went with Aaron and Nanore because we liked their "photojournalistic" style, and just the overall feel of their work. Boy we're glad we did! We love the photos so much! The photos are artsy, fun, and looking through them, I feel like I'm able to relive the wedding day all over again. They were pleasant and supportive throughout the day... in short, we're very impressed!

As the father of the bride I was only worried about execution and budgets. Spagnolo photography was excellent in both regards!
Spagnolo photographed our daughter’s wedding at the Boston Harbor Hotel. We knew we wanted someone unique and we were not disappointed. They are the most creative, artistic, not to mention nicest photographers we have ever worked with!!! The wedding photographs are amazing and we couldn’t be happier.
Working with Aaron and Nanore was fantastic. They were on time, and totally ready to hit the ground running as soon as they showed up. Absolute pros. Aaron was very responsive in the months leading up to the wedding: we traded ideas, devised a plan, and by the time wedding day rolled around, I felt confident that the job was going to be done to both of our satisfaction. I also felt *extremely* confident in the work that I was going to get from him. His portfolio speaks for itself really. I can't say that I'm a very traditional bride, and I wanted him to capture some non-traditional shots in addition to all the traditional portraits, and to be able to stretch himself artistically. his eye is absolutely fantastic and I couldn't have imagined a better end product. He really excels at working with the conditions he is given to produce photos that are truly unique and awesome--photos that strongly represent his aesthetic, but also capture the essence of his subjects. Don't let his laidback demeanor fool you--Aaron is all business, and he delivers. I'd hire him again and again. My wedding and my engagement photos absolutely rule.

I found Spagnolo photography on the knot and really liked his work but was weary considering there are so many photographers for weddings! I was looking for someone who had a different eye- not just your basic Beacon Hill engagement pic or beach photo. Well Aaron definitely delivered! He is so artistic when you see him in action you don't really know how things will come out but when you see the pictures you are blown away. Form the angle to artistry of each picture I know I will have these amazing works of art forever.
Not only is Aaron an amazing photographer but he's also a super nice guy. He was always thinking of Samir and I from schedule to our vision. I could not have asked for a better photographer - unbelievable!

These are the people you need! Aaron and Nanore are a great couple and feed off of each other's energy to catch the most fantastic photos. Nanore will make sure your hair is in place and will even swat away at the bugs that may crawl in your wedding dress. Aaron has an incredible eye for pictures. Even though you may think that a pose is weird, he will show you the picture and you realize it is amazing. He really understands how to take advantage of their high quality cameras, wide range of lenses, and other equipment like remote flashes. He knows how to use blur and clever angles to his advantage. His style is exactly what we were looking for - candid yet well framed, artsy, clean, bright, and full of color. Aaron is also well versed in photo editing to make those pictures just that much cleaner. We would definitely recommend!
We met Aaron while he was shooting our friend’s wedding and based on personality alone, we knew we were interested in working with him – once we saw the pictures we were sold! Aaron and Nanora have such a passion for what they do, and their commitment to taking beautiful shots for you is only seconded to how much fun they have doing it. They made what could have been a very stressful day easy going and fun. They’re full of amazingly creative ideas, take exquisite photos and are never intrusive. Aaron took our engagement pictures, and we had such a fun time with him! The pictures are amazing, and the entire photo session was in the middle of a snowstorm! Aaron has a great eye for angles and perspectives, we went all over Charlestown taking pictures in every setting! His pictures are creative and stunning! We highly recommend him. A lot of our friends told us his pictures are the best they have ever seen!
Aaron was wonderful to work with, fun, creative and very original! He is extremely responsive and gave us more than just wedding photos. From engagement shoots to the wedding day he created an experience that was so relaxed and easy going so that no bride has any time to worry. The pictures were more than your average and generic wedding shots and really have us reliving the day over and over again. Aaron truly knows how to capture the moment!
Aaron is such a great personality. He made this not so comfortable experience SO enjoyable and so fun. We walked all over Boston and took the most incredible photos. Best of all, we had the best time doing it. We even stopped to get a drink to just sit around and laugh. We made the best decision when we hired Aaron. I ended up asking for raw images just for my own personal record, and he did it even though that it is not the norm for him. He accommodated us in every way he could and with that alone, I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Aaron! We can't wait to see our final photo's!

This guy is creative. He brings an experience that no other photographer is going to give you. We used him not only for the wedding but for our engagement. I'm a photographer/videographer myself, and the creativity of Aaron's photos is what drew me to his work. He keeps you comfortable the entire time, which is the most important part in getting the right photo. He worked with us to make sure we achieved the exact product we wanted and this guy took it a step further and gave us a creative edge that produced much more memorable photography and we would not hesitate to use him again. Aaron is thoughtful, funny, energetic and has an amazing eye. He delivered beautiful photos that I can't wait to hang up on our wall. We loved working with Aaron because he is non-traditional in his approach. Sure, we still got the portraits and family photos but we also have unique pieces of art. Aaron got everything we asked for in the mix, from more photo journalistic photos of the space, to the details like the little craft projects you lost sleep over and want to remember forever (how could I ever forget you, custom designed favor bag?!) I also appreciated how unobtrusive Aaron was during our ceremony, I barely noticed him but he still managed to get really awesome shots!
Planning a wedding is full of constant evaluations about how much these abstract "things" are "worth" but I can tell you this without a doubt...Aaron is worth every penny and more. This one is a no-brainer. Get on his calendar before he's all booked up, you won't regret it!!

Aaron is a true artist: weird, lovable, and incredibly talented. His photos belong printed in National Geographic and hanging in art galleries. Aaron sees things that others can’t and captures mood and lighting in a way that completely breaks the mold of traditional wedding photography.
We chose to work with Aaron because he brings something different to the table. He doesn’t just capture the usual wedding photos of family members uncomfortably standing arm to arm with painfully forced smiles on. Instead he uses his day to find beautiful geometry in the building or light poking through a forgotten window. His photos are thoughtful, well-planned, and artistic. As a result of this, his subject and backgrounds blend together in a perfect unity that captures special moments in ways you didn’t think were possible.

Aaron was amazing right from the start! Everything from his down to earth presence and willingness to do anything out of the box, to his incredible, beautiful, and intuitive photography skills were super amazing!
When we were searching for a photographer last minute, and he was one of the people that so kindly could fit us in, there was no question! Aaron showed up to photograph our unique ceremony in the middle of the woods on a cold, rainy day. We then went to another location for post photos and busted out balloons and fairy wings, and he caught it all so candidly:)
We loved our experience with him, and basically: you have to go with Aaron no questions❤

Aaron is much more than a photographer. He takes his craft very seriously, and yet approaches a photo session with much humor and creativity. Throughout the shoot, we felt comfortable and at ease. He was willing to take some of our suggestions, as well as offer ideas and advice for how to craft some outstanding pictures. I really feel like Aaron is an artist -- he had some ideas that I never would have thought would work, but at the end of the day, these were some of my favorite photos! I highly recommend Aaron, regardless the occasion!!!

Aaron is professional, experienced, relaxed and a lot of fun to be around. He was there for us before the big day to get engagement shots and we had a great time and we were so in love with the photos he took. Then, on our big day he came through again and the resulting photographs are just stunning. We had the best experience with him and we would highly recommend Aaron to anyone considering hiring a professional photographer for their wedding. Aaron was clearly in his element doing his thing and I just knew the photos would be amazing and I was so right. He took photos both indoors and out and made great use of the surroundings. Five stars doesn't seem quite enough!

Aaron was amazing to work with. We hired him to do our NYE wedding and were so impressed with the photos. He's got such a great eye and was able to capture incredible shadow and lighting throughout the course of the night, which is unique to many other photographers out there. Our family and friends all looked so happy in the photos. Aaron captured some great funny moments that really reminded us of what an amazing night it was. Can't wait to hang them on our walls!
