I love capturing real moments--I prefer candid quiet moments over highly directed shots. Sign me up for a shoot in tall prairie grasses during sunset, and it'll make me melt every time. I also love the points in time during editing when I catch myself smiling back at the screen as I see all the emotive gooeyness I've managed to capture--it's the best feeling.
As an Iowa native, I love open skies, prairie grasses, and lightning bugs. Lately, I've thought of myself as a bit of a visual magpie--using my camera to collect bits of beauty that I use to line our home. I am a frequent chaser of pretty light--always noticing long shadows crisscrossing our front lawn and glowing patches of the sun dancing across the walls of our home.
