I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding day, and I have to thank the staff and owners of Speakeasy on State for such a wonderful experience!
The owners are a lovely couple, they are both courteous and professional. Katie, in particular, helped guide and shape so many small details that made the day perfect. Abigail, the in house coordinator, made things easy and clear. She was meticulous and made sure that every detail we wanted came to fruition.
Pricing was very reasonable, especially when I consider how personalized their approach to planning/coordinating is, how beautiful the location is, and how easy they made things for us.
I would recommend and encourage anyone to book their event at Speakeasy on State.
We had a wonderful experience here for our wedding! The venue was beautiful and the vendors were all incredible that we used; the florist (Nature of Things) and bakery (Citrus Blossom) were one of the highlights of the evening, along with the stunning table settings. Katie and the team were very professional, timely, and kind in accommodating anything we needed! We could not recommend this place enough!
My husband and I fell in love with the Speakeasy on State instantly! It is absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for our 100 guest wedding. The history of the building with its original brick walls and gorgeous chandeliers is honestly what stood out to us the most. Arielle was amazing to work with and Katie, their wedding coordinator, was the MVP! She made it all so seamless and truly bent over backwards to bring our vision to life.
Beautiful venue!! Has all the charm of Redlands and was a great central spot for our graduation party. Everything is kept up beautifully!! Ariell was so helpful and enthusiastic. She was very easy to communicated with, ask questions and was very accommodating. It was so also easy selecting vendors thru Ariells recommendations. Would love to have another event here one day!
The amount of people who have told us our wedding was incredibly beautiful, joyful, and relatively stress free has been overwhelming and I KNOW it's because of the team at Speakeasy on State. They are phenomenal and I cannot believe how well everything went. If you want a staff that is going to bend over backwards for you and make your event unforgettable, book here.
This venue is an absolute dream. I'm so happy with how everything came out, and I couldn't have had it that way without all the help from the Speakeasy's owner, Ariell. She asked for my vision and provided vendors that could make it happen. And gosh did it work. My family was so shocked with how well everything came out, seeing that everything came together in less than 4 months, even in the pandemic. It was amazing. The venue photographs well. There is plenty of natural light in the Columbia Room during the day, which has so much versatility already. The history shows through every inch, so whether or not you're a Redlands native, you feel the beauty down to your core.
My husband and I just got married here (in December) and it was incredible! Our guests talk about how impressed they were with the food, staff and venue. Everything came together so beautifully. The staff there are very polite and accommodating. We worked directly with the owner, Ariell, and she handled it all amazingly! I would definitely recommend the Speakeasy on State for any event.
My husband I got married here on 11.19.21. We found the speakeasy after visiting many venues and starting to feel defeated about finding anything. From the minute we walked into this beautiful venue we knew we had found it. Katie was our day of coordinator and went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We also met with Ariell many times throughout the planning process as well and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Ariell, Katie, and the rest of the speakeasy on state team made our wedding absolutely perfect. All of our friends and family kept telling us how much fun they had at our wedding and that was all was we wanted. If you’re looking for the perfect venue and team to help make you’re day wedding day perfect I highly recommend Speakeasy on State.
Most people say how stressful wedding planning is and how much they did not enjoy it. I'm happy to say I can't relate. Katie was my coordinator and made my wedding dreams come true. Katie and Ariell were perfect from the day I met them. On our wedding day they made sure our stomachs were full, glasses were filled and hearts were happy. Looking for a venue that is affordable and flexible? A team that is kind, professional, helpful and responsive? A location that has the best food, shopping and entertainment? Speakeasy on state in downtown redlands is your venue. Give Ariell a call today and cancel all your venue meetings cause it will honestly be love at first site!
My husband and I were married here on April 30, 2021, and we are so happy that we chose the Speakeasy on State! I visited so many different venues searching for the perfect one when I finally found this hidden gem in Redlands! Ariell, was able to meet with me the same day to show the venue and discuss pricing. I went with their all inclusive package and was so impressed with all of the vendors. Callie, the coordinator, was super helpful and attentive. She took so much stress off of me and allowed me to actually enjoy the wedding planning process. I will forever cherish the memories that were made here at the Speakeasy and wish that we could relive the night all over again! Thank you all for everything!
Speakeasy on State is an absolute gem in the downtown Redlands area. We held our wedding at this location in January of 2021, and we could not be happier having chosen this location. Apart from the lovely downtown area the venue itself is stunning. High ceilings with large chandeliers, beautiful brick walls and help with all the amenities. Ariell was wonderful to work with, and very helpful. Our in house wedding coordinator, Katie, was equally as helpful and made sure everything on our special day went as planned. They have great recommendations for vendors and are always available to answer any questions. If your looking for a beautiful indoor location to hold your wedding we would highly recommend Speakeasy on State Street. Thank you for making our wedding day so perfect!
We had our wedding in September 2020 and it was so wonderful to have a wedding that felt normal during the Rona. Our closest friends and family came together for such a special and beautiful wedding. I’m so grateful for the speakeasy as well as Ariell and Cali (coordinator). They really made it a breeze. I would highly recommend the speakeasy!!!
This venue was PERFECT for our microwedding. We planned our wedding in one month & it could not have gone better. The ceremony was at the speakeasy & they set everything up prior to our set up time which made things so much easier. The space was perfect & they had great policies in place to keep everyone safe with Covid.
Amazing venue and the team was great to work with. Made everything so easy. Great pricing and location in beautiful downtown.
I could not be happier with the way my wedding turned out! The entire experience was stress-free. The team at Speakeasy was extremely good at communicating and working hard to create the vision that I had for my wedding. The day of my wedding was very organized, they set everything up, and contacted all of my vendors! Plus, it truly is a beautiful venue with lots of history. Highly recommend!
Speakeasy was extremely easy to work with and develop my dream wedding. The entire staff were accommodating and accessible. I can’t speak enough on the beauty of the actual venue itself. It’s stunning and vintage. I couldn’t have picked a better venue.
When a fire hit near my venue a day before my wedding, my bridesmaids and I scrambled to find alternatives. Ariell answered the phone and due to the circumstances was willing to show us the venue with 10 minutes notice. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and unique in their design. The bathroom included small details like perfume or spray deodorant. Ariell and her staff were incredibly accommodating despite restrictions of COVID. I highly recommend to give this wonderful place your business!
We love speakeasy on State! From the get-go, this venue made my husband and I feel like family. Ariell Was amazing to work with, and made sure to have every detail taken care of. She was quick to respond and made everything seamless. I am blown away by how beautiful everything turned out! There is nothing around that compares to this place. It is undeniable that the property itself is gorgeous, spacious, and clean. The historic beauty is astounding. It is an excellent venue for formal events or intimate small gatherings. If you are looking for a venue with outstanding service, it really doesn’t get any better than this.
Speakeasy on State was an absolute dream to work with. Our wedding was perfect, and we cannot thank Dawn or their incredible vendors enough. Dawn was so responsive and helpful during our planning process. My husband and I loved that the venue has historical significance. If you're looking for a perfect venue and helpful team, definitely book the Speakeasy on State. Their "bees knees" package was especially perfect for the bride planning a wedding from out of town.
If you are looking for a venue that is truly unique and loaded with tons of character this is the place! The owners preserved much of the history with this original speakeasy. It is so elegant and fun all at the same time. And the owners Dawn and Ariel are outstanding to work with. They are professional and have such incredibly sweet personalities. They truly love their couples and love giving them a place to make such beautiful memories! Go see it! You'll love it!
The Speakeasy on State in Redlands is such a beautiful and iconic space. The details in this venue are breathtaking. My husband and I held our June 2018 wedding and this venue was definitely had the urban feel we wanted.
Our guests loved this venue and we have nothing but good memories. The whole process from looking at the space, booking, to the big day was so easy with Ariel and Dawn. Their team is such a joy to work with. Would definitely recommend looking at the space, because you will fall in love!
The venue is absolutely stunning and the support staff made the whole thing so easy! You can't ask for more! The lighting and flooring and ambiance almost eliminates the need for actual decor. My husband and I were married here last summer and we are so glad we went with the speakeasy over anywhere else. It was elegant for the ceremony and then also plenty of room to party with a DJ for the reception. Thank you, Dawn!! :)
Speakeasy on State was the perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our June 2017 wedding. We feel so blessed that we happened to come upon this venue after looking at many out door and destination venues. We purchased their all inclusive package which was VERY affordable for what you get and the only thing it did not come with was videographer and photographer. My husband and I work full time and have very busy lives so I loved that I didn't have to search for every vendor on my own. This option helped us focus on other details that meant a lot to us rather then spending most or time looking for and interviewing vendors.
The venue - Go see it! Its such a unique venue with rich history that gives you such a grand feeling as soo as you walk inside. We were set on a destination or out door wedding and we searched for many venues in Santa Ynez, Yosemite, Irvine and all through out SoCa, but there was something about this venue that drew us in. We got married in a catholic church so we just used the venue for cocktail hour and our reception. We hosted the cocktail hour in the Columbia room and used the ball room solely for dining and dancing. The space fit 150 guest comfortably. Once dinner was over we used the Columbia room for our photo booth, our open bar, and ice cream social station. One of the main things I wanted in a venue was a big dance floor. With 150 guest we were able to have the dance floor in the center of the room with tables going all around the edges so every one had a front row seat.
The vendors - Fabulous! I can not say enough about their preferred vendors. Their products and service all exceeded our expectations. Our grooms cake (A whiskey barrel) didn't even get cut because we think the catering staff thought it was a decoration it was so well done. They were all so kind, patient and super attentive. They truly made our night perfect. We got SO MANY compliments on our vendors and a few friends are now using them for their wedding.
The Owners - These two individuals are amazing people to work with. We worked mostly with Ariell and she was truly wonderful. She was super helpful, always so kind and went above and beyond for everything she needed, even our more detailed requests. What ever idea we had she truly worked with us on it and you can tell she really cared. She would even call every once in a while just to to check in on us. :) So many people say that there is always something that goes wrong but I honestly cant think of one single thing. I can not recommend this place more and can not thank them enough for helping us have the most wonder wedding celebrations we could have imagined.
Absolutely love the staff here we adore working with the Speakeasy team!! - HEPhoto
My husband and I came across this sweet, charming venue on Instagram. My wedding planner, Abby, is an old friend from high school and she went to the Speakeasy's grand opening (ALE is one of their preferred vendors). It looked like a fun, versatile, and charming space! I was intrigued and put it on my list of potential wedding venues. It was the second place (of four) that we visited, but it was our number one from the get-go.

My husband and I just got married here a couple of weeks ago and we could not have been more happy with our choice in venue. The Speakeasy on State was the perfect venue for us! It was affordable which was extremely appealing, but I fell in love with the charm of the space. We got married in the Colombia room and moved into the Ballroom for the reception (we placed some cocktail tables and the photobooth in the Colombia room afterwards). We had just under 150 guests so it was a little tight in the Colombia room (I really wanted to get married in a half moon underneath their gorgeous chandelier so some guests had to stand). But there was definitely plenty of room once we opened up the ballroom for cocktail hour/reception.
The wedding package (which I thought was well-priced) we chose included a number of vendors and a specific number of items we could get from each vendor. I met with each vendor early on and it felt like they were in constant communication with each other and the Speakeasy. Dawn and Ariell were wonderful and attentive - addressing my questions via e-mail within 24 hours (which I think is a reasonable amount of time). We visited the space a handful of times before the wedding including for our wedding rehearsal and each time, they made sure that our questions were answered or that they would follow up with us in a timely manner (which they did).
The only con to using this venue is that parking can be difficult. There is the Redlands Mall by CVS, an underground parking structure that no one really knows where it is, and a parking structure across from Martha Greens. I made maps available on our wedding website to our guests prior and made sure they knew ahead of time and encouraged them to carpool. If you do this, parking shouldn't be that big of an issue (although be careful on Thursdays becasue Market Night happens on State St. and they close that street down). Oh, and I should mention that it is upstairs but there is a lift in case anyone needs assistance.
Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with hosting an event at the Speakeasy on State. Dawn and Ariell were fantastic to work with and while this event space is relatively young, they are professional, efficient, and there's just something about these ladies that make you feel like they know what they're doing! It's definitely worth checking out in person, because the pictures aren't enough to show you how beautiful and unique this space is.
The Speakeasy on State was a dream come true for us. We had been searching for a unique venue space for our wedding that had both character and history, but without the crazy price tag. It was a tall order and we were much more particular than we had imagined! We were running out of options. By a stroke of luck (or fate), we came across the Speakeasy on State before it had officially opened. Even before stepping into the space, we were sold just on the way Dawn treated us alone: she was kind, accommodating, and always got back to us immediately. This, we realized, is extremely important when planning a big event like a wedding. The last thing you want is stress when it comes to the logistics of the big day. At Speakeasy, you don't have to worry about the little things. You can rest assured they will get back to you right away and ensure all is settled.
Once we walked into the venue... it was all over. The historic space is beautiful, has charm, and is completely unique. We fell in love with the venue's location in downtown Redlands, which mirrored the look and feel of our own hometown (not to mention it made for fantastic pictures!)
The open floor plan of the Speakeasy allows you to get creative when it comes to the style of your event, and Dawn and Ariel will do everything they can to make your vision come to life. From the little pastries Ariel brought us when were getting ready in the morning, to support throughout the day and help with cleanup, I really can't thank Dawn and Ariel enough. The Speakeasy staff is wonderful, their preferred vendors are fantastic, and I really can't recommend this venue enough! Thank you to the Speakeasy for playing such a special part in our wedding day!
Shout to the amazing vendors: Heather Baguyo at Willow Tree Weddings ; SweetPea & Me bakery (those chocolate peanut butter cake shots... ); Jake Duke Rentals (Regina is fantastic); and our guests are still raving about the food by Colette's. 100 % recommend.
When my wife and I set out about 10 months ago to find a place for our wedding, we knew we wanted it in Redlands and in early September. We had just about found a place, which we both loved, except it was all outdoors. And in September in Southern California, you’re pretty much guaranteed unbearable heat. So, we thought we would try looking at a few more places, hopefully with an indoor option, before making a decision. As soon as we walked into the Speakeasy on State we knew we had found the perfect setting for our BIG day. Downtown Redlands newest event space, located above Seed, is a gorgeous, perfectly restored two room setting. We loved the history of it being a functioning speakeasy from 1922-1933. As if that weren’t enough, the owners have worked to preserve the magical details of the past including the peep hole in the ballroom pocket door, the red light in the ceiling and the exposed brick walls. We felt the authentic details would only add to our wedding atmosphere.
Nine months after saying yes to the Speakeasy, on September 10th, we had the wedding the we could have only dreamed of. We rented out the entire space, using the front room for our ceremony, which was later transformed into the buffet and bar, and the larger ballroom for the reception. The rooms are both beautiful on their own and very versatile and accommodated our theme of a formal garden party very well. As you can see from the pictures attached, we had a somewhat large party of 180 guests in attendance.
From the very beginning Ariell, co-owner of the Speakeasy on State, and her husband Chris were extremely generous and accommodating, making a point to check in with us, asking us if we needed anything, and going above and beyond to help out anywhere needed the day of the wedding. They are a very creative team with great attention to detail and offered many helpful suggestions.
We would without a doubt recommend the Speakeasy on State to anyone looking for a venue for any event, be it a wedding or formal dinner party in the front room. Thank you Speakeasy on State for making our dream wedding a reality!
