oments is why we started Special Memory Maker. We never want a wedding to end with disappointment. However, we also feel it is important to clarify the documented timeline. Our booking system, Check Cherry, maintains timestamped records of every communication. Those records show that an automated final payment reminder was sent before the contractual due date, and that the email was opened. When the payment deadline passed without payment or communication, a breach of contract notice was issued in accordance with our signed agreement. We also attempted to contact your designated point of contact. The first communication we received from you came only after the breach notice had already been sent. Your review states that there were no reminders or attempts to collect payment. Respectfully, our documented records do not support that statement. Our agreement requires final payment seven days before the event. This policy exists so we can properly prepare for each celebration and because reserving a date means declining other couples who wish to book that same day. As a small, family-owned business, timely payments allow us to purchase supplies, schedule staff, and continue serving our clients with the quality they expect. We apply these policies consistently and fairly to every client. Because the required payment was not received by the contractual deadline and there was no communication before that deadline, the agreement was no longer in good standing under the terms that were signed by both parties. This was not a cancellation without notice; it was the result of the contract terms that had been agreed upon. As outlined in the agreement, the retainer is non-refundable because it reserves the event date. We sincerely wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness and a beautiful future together. While we regret that we were unable to be part of your wedding day, we stand behind our documented communication, our contractual obligations, and our commitment to treating every client with fairness and respect.
