Shandi and Special Times were absolutely amazing and I not only recommend them, but would strongly encourage anyone to use Special Times as a caterer for their event. Special Times catered our June wedding. The food was absolutely delicious! We had guests tell us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Shandi and Mindy were great from the beginning, helping us come up with a menu and plan quickly and efficiently in our first meeting. They have been catering for a long time, and we had immediate confidence in their ability and that they were attentive to details. They were extremely responsive and helpful later on as well after we had booked them for our event. They went above and beyond. They had a pretty cake stand and cutting utensils we could use. When asked if gold plastic silverware could be used instead of the regular silver to match our colors, Shandi said no problem at all, she’d order some. Special Times set up all our table decorations and even our guest book table. This was abnormally difficult due to rainy weather earlier in the day, and then we were tied up catching up when we were fortunate enough to have great weather later in the day. Shandi and the special times staff really shined brightly in this crunch time to make our special time special. This was SO huge! And then later, Shandi even made sure wedding gifts were safe and put in our room. There were a few other wise on the fly decisions, such as due to wind we cut the cake a little early which worked out great. Every opportunity possible Special Times went above and beyond our expectations. You will be so happy going with Special Times.

We could not have imagined a more professional, on top of it staff. Mindy is a guru of all and boy did she ever deliver a stellar job the day of our wedding. Hands down would hire her over and over again. Food was great, staff was awesome, and Mindy was a God send!

Special Times Catering is the only place to go for your wedding in Chico and the surrounding area. They have delicious food, plenty of options, and Mindy is the easiest person to work with.

The food was absolutely phenomenal, everyone was talking about it! Mindy is so helpful with not just the food, she was a lifesaver for my wedding. I would give them 100 stars if I could! We will definitely be using special times for all of our catering needs.

Can't say enough good things about Mindy and her team! First the food was amazing, presentation was beautiful, and Mindy helped everything to go seamlessly. From the moment I first met with her to the day of the wedding, I knew I could count on her for not just catering, but helping the entire day go smoothly, and rock solid advice on all things wedding! She helped with so many aspects of our wedding including planning and timing of the entire day, set up of centerpieces, even problem solving some issues that arose with wedding favors! Saying she went above and beyond is an understatement! Want to say a huge thank you to Mindy and her team! She's the best caterer you could ever ask for!

Mindy is absolutely incredible. I never thought I would end up depending on my caterer so much, but she is so brilliant at her job and at weddings, she even ended up functioning as my wedding coordinator, almost! She helped me think through the schedule of the day, where I was setting up all the details of the reception, the flow of guests throughout the wedding, my decor...and all that on TOP of helping me decide what food would be best for my day, style, guests, and budget. She takes a lot of pride in how she sets up and displays her buffet so it doesn't clash with the rest of the wedding's style, which was so great and very important to me! She matched her decor PERFECTLY to the feel I was going for for my wedding. It was beautiful, and way more than just a buffet line. And the food tasted better than anything I've ever had at any wedding, maybe even one of my favorite meals ever. It was all delicious, absolutely delicious. Mindy was more helpful than I could have imagined possible for my caterer, but she took so much stress off my mom and I both - she was a sounding board for us, as she's been in this business for so long. She knows what works and what doesn't, and is just so talented at it. She was a joy to work with and I feel incredibly lucky to have had her as my caterer, I can't imagine improvement in any way :)

My biggest pet peeve at weddings? Rubbery, cold food. We had a sit-down dinner for 150 people, and we are still hearing about how amazing the food was. Everything - from the appetizers to the main course to the adorable cupcakes - was perfect. Mindy herself is an amazing asset, especially if you don't have a wedding coordinator. She was great about answering all of our crazy, neurotic questions and even my mom - the pickiest person on the planet - thought she rocked. My only complaint is that her bartender wasn't super on-the-ball about serving up drinks in the right glass (vodka in a wine glass? Ok), but if that's the only mishap, you're in good shape.
