David and Molly were so wonderful to work with for our wedding this past August (2018). We were engaged for a long time and they keep in touch from the time we booked them for almost 2 years. They are super friendly and respond quickly with questions. Our photos turned out beautiful from both our engagement session and wedding day. He captured all the moments so well and we are so happy we got the opportunity to work with them!

We are so happy we chose Spence Photographics. They were recommended by another vendor and we are so grateful they were suggested. David made us feel at ease from the first meeting. Molly was always understanding about our concerns and quick with answers to our questions. The prints, canvas and unbound album from the package we decided upon are all absolutely beautiful and we will treasure them forever. David did a great job of making sure we didn't miss out on photographs with certain people throughout the day. He didn't bat an eye when my mom requested he take some photographs of myself in my wedding dress with our family dog. He was so accommodating and flexible and everyone at the wedding was really impressed. He seemed to be everywhere, capturing everything.

we can’t RAVE enough about Spence photographers! From the moment I contacted Molly and David, they were friendly, accommodating, personable, and so easy to work with. My husband and I are shy around the camera and they made us feel comfortable - most importantly, the shot’s they took were beautiful and I have had many many compliments on their work, both the engagement session and the wedding. Most notably, I must commend Dave for his flexibility - as our limo never showed up for the wedding, and without skipping a beat, Dave hopped in my dad’s pickup truck with myself and my dad and layed in the back helping us navigate to the service while under a ton of pressure. I can’t recommend this wonderful team enough. I will surely be going back to them for every photo session I need in the future. They also send adorable gifts along the way, adding stress relief and joy to a potentially stressful wedding planning process! 5 stars!

We could not be happier with David and Molly. David made our engagement shoot and wedding shoot fun and relaxing, and was always committed to making sure the experience and photos were exactly what we wanted. The photos are so beautiful. He really was able to capture our personalities and relationship, and he was amazing at picking on so many beautiful little moments throughout the whole day. Molly was wonderful to correspond with - she is so sweet, extremely responsive, completely on top of everything. Molly and David really make an effort to get to know their clients, which I think helped so much with their ability to tell our story. They also sent thoughtful little gifts a couple times throughout the year while we were planning. They are a really wonderful company, and I can't recommend them enough. We hope to use them in the future for family photos once we've added some kiddos to our lives :)

My husband and I absolutely LOVE David and Molly -- working with them was so much fun. David did such an amazing job capturing our big day --- he was always snapping away nearby, but I never really noticed him, which I think is the sign of a really good photographer :) Not to mention, him and Molly are such nice people and really fun to be around. David did a great job getting my 5 year old niece to smile for pics too (and she can be very difficult). We also used their silly station photobooth which was probably the best extra investment we made --- kids and adults loved it and now we have fun pictures to keep. I highly recommend Spence Photographics!

David and Molly were a fabulous team to work with. Our first in-person meeting was so informative and we appreciated David’s professional, chill, authentic demeanor. They were flexible when we changed our engagement session appointment at the last minute due to a rainy weather forecast, and even with my makeup melting off of my face and hair going wild because of the heat and humidity on the day we rescheduled our shoot for, David was able to work some kind of magic and capture AMAZING shots. Needless to say, our wedding day flowed so smoothly with David and Molly photographing formal and candid moments and keeping the Silly Station going all evening for our guests to enjoy. David had family members’ names ready to go when it was time for family photos and effortlessly directed our entire bridal party for photos so that the whole session was carefree and moved along efficiently. Also, as two people who aren’t crazy about being in the spotlight, David made us feel so comfortable, helped us remain present in the moment, and made the whole wedding day photo session fun. You can imagine how excited we were when we were on our way home THE NEXT MORNING and received our sneak peak already! We love every photo so far and can’t wait to see the rest! David and Molly are THE BEST! From the moment we met David at his office in Downtown Frederick, to the engagement session, and then all the way up to our wedding day, they were absolutely amazing! SO communicative and there work was phenomenal! They had me share my Pinterest page with them so they could see what photos I wanted the most and everything with them ran so smoothly on my wedding day. I highly recommend them as a photographer!

When I chose a vendor for my wedding photography - I wanted to make sure the pictures would be AMAZING. The Spences delivered. David is so friendly and great at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. For our engagement shoot we went to Sugar Loaf mountain and a couple surrounding locations. David knew some great spots and the photos came out wonderfully. For our wedding, he and Molly worked together and the photos were again fantastic. There are some shots that I do not know how they got because I did not see them taking them - if you want photographers who will not look like conspicuous paparazzi ninjas in the middle of your wedding, this husband and wife team is who you need. I loved that they requested all the portrait line-ups before the wedding so no one was missed on our big day. They were also open to constructing our package exactly how we wanted it. A MAJOR BONUS is that you get all the rights to your photos so you can use them pretty much however you'd like without paying extra. Also they send super sweet customer appreciation gifts which we loved. Molly runs most of the back-end business and is super helpful and responsive. Overall, working with the Spences was a great decision. I am so happy we found them and am looking forward to working with them again in the future!

We were so thankful to have David and Spence Photographics as our photographer on our wedding day! We actually met him at another friend's wedding and we knew the moment we saw the pictures from her wedding that we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. We were so incredibly impressed with how easy going and professional David and Molly have been through the whole process. They were willing and happy to work with a slightly camera shy groom! David and Molly could not have been a better duo for capturing our Engagement Photos and our Wedding Day! We were lost when we started the hunt for a photographer, but quickly came across Spence photo and scheduled a meeting. Once my husband and I met with David - who couldn’t have been nicer and really took his time to get to know us/learn what we were looking for in a photographer - we knew he was our guy. We couldn’t have been happier with our engagement photos and flash-forward to our Wedding Day, David and Molly did the most amazing job. When we received all our photos it felt like we were there all over again and it was so great to see all the memories they captured. We loved their photojournalism approach, yet still got all the great portraits we would have wanted. Above and beyond our experience the day of, Molly was a dream to work with through the planning process and was very responsive. Molly and David even do some kind gestures throughout the process that were one of a kind (but we won't ruin the surprise!). They made everything super easy by having online portals for contracts, payment, planning and viewing our photos. Molly and Dave were great to work with. They drove from Maryland to Pennsylvania to photograph our wedding. The work they do is the best I have ever seen and would highly recommend them!!! The final products were stunning and we absolutely love our pictures. We are looking forward to using them in the future, perhaps for pregnancy pictures ;)

We loved having David as our photographer! Our outdoor wedding day weather was anything but perfect (record rainfall), but from our sneak peek of our pictures, the farm where the wedding was held looks amazing! When David arrived on site, there was so much rain we weren't sure if we could even have the wedding that day-the tables were sinking into the ground and the grounds were flooding! But David was smiling and looking for good spots for pictures while all of this was happening! He was great to work with and fun. We even got the sneak peek of pictures just a few days after the wedding. David and Molly are easy to work with and answer questions right away. We loved our experience with Molly and David - from beginning, throughout the wedding, and still now 10 months after! They captured some amazing pictures from the day - our biggest problem is trying to decide which ones are the best! :) You will not be disappointed!

David and Molly Spence are a wonderful photography team! We found them through a friend who had Spence photograph their wedding. We were sitting at our table during the reception and I noticed how David was capturing so many great moments, yet he did it so discreetly and gracefully. I nudged my fiancee (at the time!) and said, we should get his card. So we did and the next thing we knew, we were booking our photography package for our big day. David also took care of our engagement shoot, which was easy to schedule and coordinate. Our pictures turned out great too! Leading up to the big day, David and Molly were always available to answer our questions to help ease some of our planning stress. They were very accommodating as they allowed us to add the Silly Station to our package just weeks before the wedding. The Silly Station is a must! Other little perks were receiving surprise cards and small gifts in the mail :) David and Molly are absolutely the best in the business- our wedding photos were absolutely stunning and perfect. I really cannot say enough about Spence Photographics! David and Molly are truly wonderful! David is professional, easy-going and TALENTED! He makes you feel so comfortable. I absolutely love who we picked to document our big day! E-mails were always answered promptly, they helped me with all of my concerns and questions, and they never made me feel uncomfortable. Very friendly and they also provide a photo booth option at a reasonable price. Photographers are expensive and for their quality of work, their packages were very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

My husband and I were so extremely pleased with David and Spence Photographics. From the first meeting to seeing our engagement and wedding photos we couldn't have been happier with our experience. We were planning the wedding out of state making things a little difficult but David was amazing communicating with us! We went through Spence Photographics for our Save the Dates and our Wedding invitations-both came out beautifully! David was great working with us through the entire process he really cares about his clients. Due to being out of state we had to take our engagement photos just 2 days before our wedding but David was great to accommodate us and our schedules. During the day of the wedding David and his crew we're fantastic. He was able to capture all the joy and happiness experienced on that day. We were so extremely pleased with all the photos. David and Molly were the best! They worked with our crazy schedule to meet with us and the package we got was such a great value! We are having a hard time deciding which picture we was for our coffee table book because there are too many amazing photos! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day and David captured all of it, including the beautiful clouds in the sky and our awesome venue! Dave and Molly are out of this world. Leading up to the wedding, they couldn't have been more flexible with our timing. Coming from across the country, we didn't have time for a separate engagement shoot, so they worked around our schedule to make sure that we had some extra and very special pictures. On the day of the wedding, we were floored with the energy, dedication, and professionalism that they both exuded. Every time we turned the corner, Dave was there, getting the best shot. Somehow he managed to shoot our ceremony from 360 degrees and up close without anyone noticing. I've never seen a photographer with that energy. They also knew the exact moments when to pull us away for special moments and when to let us just be the couple with our friends and family. After the wedding, we we've been able to see the outcomes and have been thrilled with the results. The photos paint a picture, capture all the right moments, and are just aesthetically beautiful. In addition, Dave and Molly have perfected the art of letting you know that they're thinking about you. Before the wedding, we received a "welcome" gift with some goodies and information about all that they offer. Since the wedding, we've received numerous packages with sneak peaks of photos while they were still being edited, cute little photo books, etc. They care about their couples and they show it through and through. We could not recommend them more :)

I had David Photograph my wedding and reception and Molly ran the Silly Station Photo Booth at the party. They were both so wonderful to work with! David was very attentive and really good with directing us to creative shots! All of my guests loved Molly and the Silly Station! Overall they were both an absolute pleasure to work with and far exceeded all my expectations!

David is awesome to work with. I loved our engagement photos and wedding photos. I liked that David and his assistant (who on our wedding day was Stefanie) got photos from some really neat angles and didn't crowd us or our guests during the ceremony. David gave some little tips when we needed them, but mostly let us go with the flow, which was really nice. He was also very responsive to making some tiny edits that I wanted. Most of all, David is just a really friendly, laid-back guy who made us so comfortable during our engagement session and our wedding day. I also shopped around for photographers a bit and found that Spence Photographics had much better pricing than competitors. We love our photos and will cherish them forever!

Where do I even begin?! I just have nothing but great things to say about Spence Photographics. My husband and I booked David for a marriage celebration, and it was definitely one of the best decisions that we made. We first heard about David after our best friends hired him for their wedding. We were so impressed with their photos and his ninja-like photographer moves during their reception, so we knew we had to have him at our celebration! From the very moment he arrived to our venue, David just went right to work and seemed so in his element and in control that it actually calmed my own nerves for the day! David and Molly Spence of Spence Photographics were an absolute joy to work with for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. I really cannot say enough about them. Hands down, hiring them was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding. Throughout the entire process Spence Photographics was helpful, patient, encouraging and friendly. Not long after we booked them for our Fall 2013 wedding we had to change the wedding venue and the date. Spence Photographics was extremely accommodating and patient with us as we went back and forth about different dates and different venues. We finally landed on October 12th and everything worked out perfectly! Their pricing is reasonable and they give you the flexibility to adjust your photo package to fit you and your day. Our engagement shoot was fun and laid back. David Spence met my fiancé and me in Baltimore City for an afternoon and we had the chance to take pictures in multiple parts of the city. For the wedding we booked the silly station, which was a HUGE hit with all of the guests. Everyone had an amazing time, and the photos were awesome! Molly Spence set up and supervised the photobooth at our venue; it was really nice having both of them there on the day of! Every step of the way, from getting ready in the morning, arriving at the church, the ceremony and the reception, Spence Photographics captured unbelievable memories for me, my husband and our families and friends. We truly have amazing images from our wedding day, and it wouldn't have been nearly as fun without Spence Photographics! We were able to view all of our images online about two months after our wedding day and we received the final USB images about one month after that. David and Molly answered every question, comment or concern I had in a timely and friendly manner (even when I was pestering them for my final images, I was so impatient/excited to see them)! I would absolutely recommend Spence Photographics to friends and family, and we definitely plan to work with them in the future!

My husband and I truly enjoyed working with David Spence and having him capture amazing pictures from our wedding. He was always professional and seemed to always be available for communication. David captured our engagement session all the way in Ocean City, Md as that location was special to my husband and I as that's where we first met. Then for our wedding at Mt St Mary's in Emmittsburg, Md. The pictures from both events turned out so amazing and we were so happy with all of them. We were referred to David by our reception venue and so happy that we chose him to capture our special day! We would gladly recommend him to anyone!

David Spence and his team were truly a pleasure to work with for our wedding photography! My husband and I were born and raised in the town of Frederick so it was very important to us to document many of Frederisck's important landmarks in our wedding pictures. David met with us three seperate times to map out the timeline and location of each shot. Needless to say, this was detailed information and he was happy to do it with us! Also, during the wedding, David and his second shooter, Stephanie, were absolutely wonderful. They were incredibly personable and made every person in the wedding party feel comfortable. He was patient when we wanted to change the shot or try something different and never made us feel rushed that we needed to move on to the next shot or location. Finally, he was so energetic that it was fun to be a part of the picture. He truly became a part of the wedding celebration. In the weeks following the wedding, he released to images in an incredibly sensible time frame. (5 weeks!) He also was able to help answer the thousands of questions from my husband and myself as well as our additional family members as to how to order prints as well as help with sizing and packing details. He even offered to let us change the package that we had originally ordered, free of charge, in order to better meet our needs. Finally, David created for us samples and previews of images for us to keep, free of charge, before we purchased them. David Spence and his photography team were a pleasure to work with and we plan to use them for future celebration events!

I loved working with both David and Molly of Spence Photographics. Their laid-back, down-to-earth personalities won me over along with the incredible pictures they capture. I never felt like they were trying to sell me something or pressure me into choosing their photography services. My husband and I were nervous about having our pictures taken during the photo sessions, but the photographer did a great job of directing us and keeping the mood light. Our wedding guests liked the fact that the photographer stayed in the background and was not even noticeable during much of the reception. They also loved the wedding pictures and still comment on what a wonderful time they all had. One thing I didn't realize is that I would have to purchase engagement photos myself at $2-$3 a photo to display at the reception. I thought I would have access to the photos in order to make cheaper copies at CVS or RiteAid. The pictures looked great because they were high quality, but it was just an extra payment I hadn't planned for so close to the wedding date.

I was thrilled with David, he was great from the engagement pictures to the wedding day. He did a great job telling our story through pictures at the wedding taking pictures I would have never thought of that will make great memories. The wedding package was a little more than others but it was well worth it for such a special day. I look forward to using them for family photos in the future!

We had a great experience working with Spence Photo. They made it easy on us during the wedding prep time and David traveled all the way from Frederick to Annapolis on both Friday and Saturday of our wedding weekend and he was pleasure to have around with family and friends. Very easy-going - we were really able to enjoy the day without feeling like we spent a huge amount of time posing for photos. We also had the Silly Station booth which the guests really enjoyed. In the end we ended up with great photos for a nice value compared to the handful of other photographers we inquired with.

A wedding is a one-shot deal and a photographer only gets one chance to get it right. David Spence has a fabulous eye for composition and beautifully memorialized every important moment of the ceremony and the day that surrounded it. He quickly knocked out all the requisite formal shots and unobtrusively documented the joyous preparations as well as the celebrations that followed. All three of those components required different skills and David Spence has them all. He could not have been easier to work with or to communicate with before the wedding and in the weeks that followed. His professionalism on all counts is more than we could have hoped for. He met with our son and his fiance for a pre-wedding shoot in order to meet them and they could not have found it any more relaxed or enjoyable. I helped my sister plan her wedding and recommended Spence Photographics right from the start of the planning. Molly and Dave are friends of mine from college and I've been lurking on their Facebook page and website for a while now, but had no reason to use their services...until this year! From initial contact all the way through to the final photos on the website, the service was top notch and easy. Dave was accommodating with our wacky schedules and geographic challenges and my sister and her now husband felt really comfortable right from the start. The images from the wedding are stunning and I can't figure out where Dave and his assistant were for half of them! They were discreet but managed to capture everything important. The candids are my favorite- they froze some special moments in time for me and my sister and I can't thank them enough for that. I've told everyone I know that they have to use Spence Photographics for the special moments in their lives- they won't be disappointed!

Had an absolutely amazing experience with Spence Photographics. We got everything we wanted and more. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We cannot recommend Spence Photographics highly enough. If you’re looking for that mix of a fun, creative, highly affordable wedding photographer, David is your guy. We inquired and met with a number of photographers who did beautiful work, but their prices were astronomical and they charged for every single extra or additional request, pricing themselves right out of our budget. There were also the very affordable photographers whose work lacked originality. Their pictures looked like every other wedding shoot out there. Then we met David, and we knew he was the one. He really captures the warmth and love between his subjects, and we loved his use of color that just seemed to pop right off the screen. His pictures make a statement and capture the sense of fun, playfulness and joy that we hoped our wedding would be. He was also very easy to work with and has a great sense of humor, which makes being in front of the camera for 8+ hours much easier to bear, especially for someone like me, who is a bit camera shy. After talking with him, we were 100% certain that he got our vision and would capture the wedding in exactly the way we wanted….and perhaps some unexpected, outside-the-box ways as well. We also liked David's flexibility and felt that he would accommodate any last minute changes or requests we had and would do it graciously. We were not disappointed. On the big day, David and his assistant/wife Molly were very prompt and completely unobtrusive. In fact, I forgot we even had a photographer!! They felt like part of the party. But make no mistake, they were working their butts off, as evidenced by the thousands of photos they took – nearly all of which were beautiful. David’s candid shots were expressive and lively. Looking through them all later, we loved having a nearly minute-by-minute timeline of images from throughout the day. These are moments we might have otherwise never seen because as the brides, we were just so overwhelmed! We forgot things or missed things, but David made sure to capture it all. The posed shots we did with family, which are essential, but can be kind of boring and time consuming, were also very well done and efficient, making sure everyone could get back to the party! David and Molly work like a well-oiled machine. They know exactly what needs to get done and they make it happen with absolutely no stress to the wedding party. Yet, they aren’t cookie cutter. Every photo is original and so expressive and behind every photo is David – a great photographer, working to capture the best and most beautiful moments of your wedding.

We started looking for a photographer the same time we started looking for the venue. It was actually at a venue that we were looking through a book, that was suppose to make us fall in love with the venue, but it made me fall in love with the photos instead. I made a mental note of the name and the little logo. Once we came home and looked through David’s blog, I knew we had to meet him. What I wanted most from our wedding photos was someone who would catch the little moments. Sure, I want the posed family photos- but those small glimpses; my soon-to-be husband laughing in his room before he’s getting ready, the emotion of the room when my father walked in and saw me in my wedding dress…that’s what I wanted more than anything. And I just didn’t see that anywhere else. David was so easy to work with. He’s so nice, and he says “do your own thing” when you’re out on your engagement photos which put my (then) fiancé at total ease. It’s normal to feel awkward when someone’s snapping away at you- but David made us feel so comfortable! When he arrived on the wedding day it was like one of our friends had come-it was no big deal (thanks to the engagement session!). It goes without saying that the photos come out amazing- you can see that for yourself on his blog/website. I just want brides and grooms to know you would be hard pressed to find a more down to earth, easy to get along with, nice photographer who you will feel totally comfortable with, who will capture every single moment (we had so many small details at our wedding and I have photos of all of them!), and who is willing to do anything to make you feel great about your experience.
