Hiring Spencer for our wedding and engagement photography was an absolute dream! He was able to capture our wedding day flawlessly. Looking back through our photos, we feel like we did on that day — Spencer’s eye is impeccable for the moments that people will want to remember most. So many emotions come flooding back to us looking at them, and we are SO thankful and just blown away by all the joy he was able to be present for and capture for us. He was a fly on the wall in the best way. Not only is he an awesome photographer, but he’s also just an all-around cool and kind person. It was such a joy to bring him along for the ride that was our wedding day. Having Spencer capture the biggest day of our lives was the best decision we could have made. He was timely, professional, communicative, a great listener, and made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. He drove to Chicago to take our engagement photos, and we had SO much fun - the photos are proof! Our wedding photos were absolutely stunning, as well. Not only did he get those "must-have" shots that every couple dreams about, but he caught so many candid moments that allow us to relive our day in a really special way. On top of taking incredible photos, he was able to manage a lot of family/friend dynamics with patience and grace. It was a huge relief knowing we could trust the person behind the camera. Following our initial outreach about his availability, he was prompt with follow up and provided a really thorough overview of his approach and scope of services. During negotiations he was candid, flexible, and took time to build a genuine and comfortble rapport with us. Heading into the day, I was supremely confident that he understood our needs and would honor our preferences. One more note on the business side of things, then I’ll get to my feelings about his work. The ease of signing our contract, managing deadlines, and remitting payments through a single platform was exceptional. Spencer is extremely professional and has leveraged technology to keep things clear and streamlined. Back to the photos...the depth of the photos is spectacular. As advertised, Spencer’s style is incredibly rich, photojournalistic, beautifully composed. We were married at a vineyard in September. He vividly captured our incredibly lush setting, our tremendous joy, and many small and now-treasured glimpses of those who joined us for this celebration. My highest endorsement is this: when I look at our photos, I see what hoped I would see. Two elated, open-hearted, grateful individuals, wide-eyed and surround by love. I can feel the energy of the day each time I flip through our wedding photo site and I feel strongly that this is because the person who captured these images was truly present to the experience.

Spencer is such an amazing person, and truly talented photographer. In addition to being a kind, fun and low-stress person at our wedding day, his photos capture our emotion and happiness perfectly! He even stayed until the end to catch some photos of our sparkler send-off, even though that made his day approximately 12 hour day. We highly recommend him! He is amazing!

My family has been friends with Spencer’s family for a long time so it was one of the reasons we chose him so be our photographer. When you look at his creative and unique style of taking pictures they are absolutely gorgeous. The package we did included an engagement session as well. He was able to send us sneak peeks after the engagement session and the wedding. We have full access to all of our photos and don’t have to buy them individually. He did an absolutely stunning job capturing our wedding day.

When we were planning our wedding, we knew that finding a photographer was at the top of our list of important tasks to check off. I was referred to Spencer and after we had our initial FaceTime interview, I knew he was the person I wanted capturing our special day. Spencer was professional, relatable, and made me feel at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process. He was also timely in his communications which I believe is one of the most crucial components of working with wedding vendors. When we finally got to meet Spencer in person I felt as if I knew him for years. On top of all these amazing attributes, Spencer is also extremely talented. He was able to capture moments from our wedding that still bring me to tears because it takes me back to that exact moment in time. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to work with such an incredible photographer and I would recommend Spencer to anyone who is looking for an all around spectacular experience.

Spencer is so fun to work with. He really wants to capture you and your partner’s unique relationship. I remember during our engagement shoot he told us to take a few minutes and think about what it is about our partner that we love and to react to it in whatever way we felt right (hug,kiss,giggling,etc). He made us feel comfortable and like a camera wasn’t even there. On our wedding day he was so great at working with our timeline and capturing key moments and glances shared between guests and my husband and I. In fact, it was a pleasant surprise to flip through our gallery and find myself saying “I can’t believe he got that moment!” It’s the small stuff like that that made our photos ones we love to revisit. Spencer takes photos in a way that you can feel the love the couple has for one another start to come out of the photo and fill the space you’re in. Not to mention he is the most kind and down to earth guy.

When I was planning our wedding, I initially hired a local New York photographer who I thought would be a good fit. Photography was something very important to us, so I wanted to make sure I booked in advance. This photographer had great reviews, I liked her style, and other people referred her to me. Long story short, it turned out to be a very negative experience that left me in tears, and I was without a photographer 4 months before the wedding. Then, we were lucky enough to find Spencer. When he heard our story, he responded right away and told us he was available to travel. I never thought that we would find someone within budget that we liked, less than 4 months before the wedding. Let me tell you, we don't just like Spencer, we love Spencer! His work is BEAUTIFUL, it speaks for itself, and he was exactly what we were looking for. I was worried about the long distance, but he kept in contact with me regularly, unlike our local ex-photographer, cough cough. When we finally met, Spencer felt more like a friend than a stranger. My entire bridal party loved him. He was easy to work with, and made all of us comfortable. He's professional, and always willing to bounce ideas back and forth. He was very flexible, resourceful, and worked well under pressure. Our getting ready shots were in a hotel. Unfortunately, there weren't any scenic places outside to take first look and group shots. Spencer arrived early, scouted the area, and found beautiful locations within the hotel for all of those shots. He visualized the first look shots in a small hallway/corridor near the elevators with windows. I never would have thought to do the photos there- and everything came out perfect. He's a natural. He definitely has an eye for this stuff and he was open to all of our ideas. You can throw anything at him and he's willing to try it. I couldn't have been happier. I like to believe that everything in this life happens for a reason, even the small stuff. After all that is said and done I would go through the headache of our first experience all over again, because it led us to Spencer!
