out telling us upfront there would be one. We rented both houses on property and tried charging us a “gratuity tax?” The chicken we picked out at our tasting wasn’t anything like what they served. The chicken we ate at the tasting was a breast with the best sauce I’d had ever tasted, what they served at my wedding was a chicken tender that was dry, had no sauce at all and tasted cheap. Then come to find out someone threw away all my wedding decorations without my permission. The next morning when I went to collect everything they said “someone” told them to throw everything away. I was only left with 4 lanterns. I’m extremely disappointed and sad.

The food was delicious food, the space was easy to get around and had ample parking (we had 100 guests), it was perfect. A huge thank you to the owners, Dennis and Victor, who were phenomenal to work with. They were always available, were flexible and responsive with unexpected or last minute changes, and just downright SUPER COOL to be around! They made my whole family comfortable, which just made everything simple and worthwhile. l surprise charges that I found with many other caterers when obtaining quotes. A HUGE plus is that the use of their plates and silverware are included in their catering packages. This saves a ton of money when considering most caterers and rental companies charge per plate, fork, etc. and the costs really add up on something that (in my opinion) should be included anyway. Fortunately, with Spinelli's, it is! Guillermo went above-and-beyond to make sure I was happy at all times. He is extremely responsive and even gave me a heads-up when he was going out-of-town so that I wasn't alarmed if I had a question and didn't hear back right away. The best part of all is that the food is delicious! I was told by other brides that even if the food is good at tastings, to not get my hopes up for the day-of because the food has to travel and sit for a while, and that their experiences with their wedding caterers weren't great. This was not mine or my guests experiences at all! The food was AMAZING! Guillermo even brought salmon to cook for me since I don't eat other meat, and he waited to cook it until right before dinner was served so that it would be fresh for me. He showed up early to each appointment, had great suggestions along the way, and was an overall wonderful vendor. We cannot recommend them enough!

Over the almost 9 months of dealing with them they not only made us feel like they cared about us and the success of our event, they showed it! Detailed, clear and consistent communication, professional staffing, great service, gorgeous venue, a great value, insightful, highly accommodating; Victor, ‘Big D’ and the entire staff more than exceeded our expectations and went out of their way to make this event as special as it should have been. He can help you set up all your smaller details too if you like dj, catering, etc. Communication is a little slow, but very friendly. Victor did an amazing job helping me with all my details and answering all my questions. The venue is so pretty it barely needs any decor. It is a little out of the way from the city but is definitely worth it.

The catered food was amazing, and very affordable. The 100 year-old chapel, with its bell tower and adjacent dancehall and dining area, not to mention spacious grounds for outdoor functions is ready for large and small groups alike. And then there is the management. They were so helpful, and always available to take care of all our needs. If you're looking for a unique, beautiful wedding or special event facility, then Spinellis is the ticket.

I was also told that I would be able to utilize one of the houses onsite without extra charge, that was a lie. Brides, make sure you get the entire price when you meet with them. 2 weeks before our wedding they sent me an $1100 charge for gratuity.....which they DID NOT DESERVE and was NOT in our original quote. A tip is for a service well done.....service was horrible.... We planned this wedding for 18 months and Victor almost ruined my reception. I still had a fun and great night of dancing, but unfortunately this experience will stay with us forever. It seriously pains me to have to write this review, because I had such high hopes. Brides beware of Victor if you do decide to have your wedding and reception here. At least my pictures turned out gorgeous.

Everything was up-front cost and pricing, no nickel-and-diming, no hidden fees, no surprises at the end. Secondly, we got it ALL: --The entire property for 14 hours --The gorgeous, spacious chapel with A BELL (My favorite part!), equipped with a speaker system and faux flowers --A beautiful and HUGE reception hall with hardwood floors, decorated with twinkle lights (we added almost nothing as decoration; it was perfect as-is) --All of the outdoor areas for pictures and a cocktail party (no additional cost for these spaces or tables set up outside, too) between ceremony and reception --Use of the Bride's Room for the full 14 hours which was super convenient (brought all my stuff in the morning, spent time with my girl posse and all of us got ready, & then simply walked across the courtyard for the 6pm ceremony). We and our guests may have had to drive a little further, but we were so pleased with our entire experience at Spinelli's. Things went off without a hitch and yes, we got our wedding-to-remember. I did not want to get married in a church, but the weather was raining and cold the day of my wedding and I was struggling with moving it into the church. Dennis was so great and convinced me it was the right thing and took care of everything so I was happy. Everything turned out beautiful. I would absolutely recommend Spinelli's, great people doing a great job. Thank you for everything.

e they charge you $11 per linen to RENT, they should be in clean, ironed condition. If they put new linens on, they leave the fold lines. Also, we were told we could rent the big house for Friday and Saturday and have the rehearsal in the morning and have the rehearsal dinner at the big house on Friday. We were also told that I could rent the big house for both nights at the rate of $800. When I got the invoice, they charged full price plus 20% labor and 8.25% sales tax. Then, the Monday before the wedding, we were told that we had to rehearse on Saturday morning and could not host the rehearsal dinner at the big house because it would be rude. Normally, the small house is included (or at least I'm told) on the day of the wedding. Because Comfort requires 2 night minimums at just about every B&B, we cancelled the big house and scrambled to find another place for the rehearsal dinner (even though now we couldn't rehearse on Friday). Victor then said we had to pay $200 to use the small house (so we didn't). What REALLY angered me was the wedding was to start 4:00. At 1:00 p.m. when we were trying to set up the sanctuary, there was ANOTHER REHEARSAL! We were scrambling to set up because we had to wait until 2:30 to decorate the sanctuary. I missed out on helping my daughter dress. Also, there are always lightbulbs out. I had fun, but I would think long and hard before securing this venue. The contract is a joke, and I would highly recommend getting EVERY detail in writing. DO NOT TRUST ORAL PROMISES FROM DENNIS OR VIKTOR.

We did rent the red house on the property after being told we could leave at noon morning after wedding , but were then told we needed to be out before 9am. Who does that?! Rude! Needless to say, couldn’t sleep in with my husband and relax after a kind day and instead ended up loading all our decor since Victor demanded we get out. Left Spinelli a voice message and he never called back to inquire about this mishap. I also did not like the fact that Spinelli had other potential couples interrupt our setting up and utilized the chapel for a rehearsal all while we were trying to decorate chapel on our wedding day. Such an inconvenience, which is totally not the other couple’s fault. Too many other unknown people “checking out the venue” when we were trying to set up on wedding day. I would not recommend this venue due to the lack of professionalism and mistreatment. Instead of seeing us as a number or “just another couple who just married,” they should have given us some respect and accommodated instead of rushing us out, after all we did pay money for this venue.

By choosing Spinelli's, we were able to have our dream wedding without cutting many corners. We were able to have a cocktail hour with appetizers, a full plated buffet, a photo booth, cake-cutting service, full bar service, bride and groom's suites, the overnight house, and more--all without breaking our budget. The chapel is beautiful, along with the reception hall. The indoor/outdoor combination is perfect for a summer wedding, when you want the beauty of the outside but you still need the air conditioning. The venue holds more people than any of the other venues we looked at, so you don't need to be anxiously checking your response cards. While the far location might be a turn-off, our guests actually enjoyed the drive out in the country, because in the Spring/Summer months it's absolutely gorgeous. The weekend felt like a getaway, yet people could still drive back into the city if necessary. The decision to go farther out actually made our weekend even more magical. Lastly, I cannot stress enough the service Dennis and Victor provided, not only to my husband and me, but to our families as well. They absolutely know what they're doing, and they will treat you like family. I would get married at Spinelli's all over again. It might not be as trendy as some of the Dripping Springs venues, but the venue and its staff have a timeless appeal that you won't regret choosing.

They let us have access to any decorations that they had left over from other events. Having the catering onsite was extremely helpful as well. I feel like we were able to get a high quality wedding for an affordable price. The food was delicious, and we were able to come before and try everything, and our guests had several options. The buffet line worked smoothly and was put away when it was time for the dance floor to be open. The reception area was large enough that we were able to do all of our first dances amongst our guests, while having plenty of space to dance away from the dining tables when that started! The venue has several areas that your photographer can use as backdrops, and as a result, we have so many beautiful photos from our wedding day. I can't say enough about how wonderful Dennis and Victor were. We felt like we were truly taken care of and even though they do weddings all year round, we felt like our wedding was special to them. The venue is close enough to San Antonio and other surrounding towns that your guests will be able to have entertaining options if you do a full wedding weekend like we did. We felt so at home everytime we went to Spinelli's, and I am so happy that we started our journey as a married couple at this gorgeous venue!

If you want this venue, go for it but micro manage and keep all your documents and emails of interactions then everything be smooth sailing.

this venue. The owner is Dennis Spinelli, and this general manager is Victor. Dennis is charming and he is the one that originally showed us the venue and got our contract drawn up. We met with him a few times throughout our engagement to check in. Most of the time we spoke with the GM Victor. He is a funny guy and really goes out of his way to help you out. He even made sure that I could use the venue one whole afternoon to myself for my bridals. This venue is great because everything is included in the price. We booked early, which I would recommend since they tend to book up pretty fast. The food at the wedding was great, and everybody loved the cajun style buffet we decided to do. I would recommend doing a tasting at their other venue The Library/Restaurant to try out different styles! If there was anything negative I had to say, it would be the fact that we thought paying gratuity on the building was a little ridiculous. We were already paying gratuity for the waitstaff, but on the building itself? That was odd. Also, I was okay with there being other people checking out the venue on my wedding day (we did the same thing when we came out the first few times), but there were random strangers snooping through our stuff at 3pm when our wedding was at 6pm. It felt a little intrusive. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a small town venue with lots of charm! Some of our guests even said they wanted to book the place! Good luck!

00+-year-old rock wall chapel for the ceremony, reception on same location with some recent upgraded construction, beautiful landscape, and the drive out to Comfort, TX from San Antonio provides for nice rolling hills scenery. Talk about some great photo opportunities! We like to refer to it as our drivable destination wedding. Dennis and Victor were all a big help in making sure that all the details of our wedding were squared away. The day of, Victor, Tori, and other staff had the venue set up exactly to how we described it. And they were all too willing to make a couple of minor changes. Even though there was a wedding the night before, everything was clean and prepped for our wedding. I would highly recommend this place as a wedding venue! Once you set eyes on it, and it fits the overall theme of the wedding, I would venture to say it would be hard to pass up! w Mr. Dennis Spinelli made our day so special at the Cathedral. The sweet honey suckle was in full bloom that canopied the garden atriums all around the property. The magnolia trees, too, were in bloom, and butterflies alighted everywhere and lightning bugs, too as the sun began to set. The Cathedral grounds took on a magical effect from the delicately set night lighting that I swear angels were singing from heaven right there in that 100 year old Hill Country Cathedral. His staff kept all my guests comfortable, happy, and entertained. His wife even sang the "Ave Maria" for my wedding. Now I'm just working on making lots of little Peter cottontails!!
