Ryan and his team did a fantastic job for our wedding this past weekend. He was on time, efficient and the lighting really complimented the venue. All of our guests were totally wowed! He was so professional and such a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to hire him again! Thank you guys so much!!

Ryan was very professional and helpful during our wedding planning process. He is clearly very experienced; he was an excellent emcee and used the music to coax some of our more reluctant dancers out onto the dance floor. We had a great wedding reception and I highly recommend his services.

Where do I start? I guess I'll begin by saying I can't comment on their actual service because I couldn't bring myself to hire them. I also want to express that I VERY rarely leave a negative review but this has been eating at me for months. If you are wondering - yes, they are a religious organization. Maybe I was naive considering their name is "SpiritSound" but since their website and reviews didn't mention anything about religion I thought maybe it was just an odd choice in name. When looking for a DJ I stumbled across them and saw their glowing reviews. My fiance and I emailed them to meet. I wanted my vendor search to be as quick and easy as possible so I had a check ready and my mind was pretty much set on hiring them even before our meeting. But then we met Ryan. We realized quickly that they were a religious organization but we weren't going to rule them out just because of that. One of the first questions he asked was the color of our officiant's skin because he had a skin colored headset but not a black one. OK, that seemed odd but we moved forward. He asked if we wanted them to say a prayer during dinner and we made it clear that our entire wedding was secular and asked if that was ok with him. He said of course.... but he doesn't know if he could provide his services at a gay wedding. That came out of nowhere. We are a heterosexual couple and I have no idea what was going through his mind when he said that. I must have had a disturbed look on my face because he asked if I was offended. I said yes, actually, I have a gay sister and she will be attending my wedding with her wife. He said that's fine, he knows some gay people. So we moved forward. Quite a few times during our meeting he stopped to check his phone because he said his fiancee was sending him messages. I thought it was odd that he couldn't wait until the end of our meeting but whatever. At one point he looked at me and said "this question is for you, Kelsey, because I'm sure you've always dreamed about your wedding. What do you envision your perfect day to be like?" I said actually, no, I haven't always dreamed of my wedding. Plus, my fiance has just as much say in what goes on as I do. I was pretty annoyed at that point. THEN he casually mentioned that he would be busy the day of our wedding but someone else would be our DJ. Why did we waste our time meeting with him, then?! At that point I was pretty much done but I tried to be polite and move on. He made comments about how "smart" we are but it honestly just felt patronizing. Then he told some stories about weddings he worked at and basically made fun of the couples or their weddings. We said our goodbyes and when my fiance and I got to the car we were floored. We even tried to justify hiring them because their reviews were so great but we ended up deciding against it. I just couldn't risk him making my sister uncomfortable - that was my biggest concern after our meeting. So we sucked it up and kept searching. We ended up finding DJ Mike Love and I can honestly say hiring him was the best decision I could have made for our wedding! I'm disappointed in SpiritSound and that's why months after our meeting I still felt the need to leave a review. I hope it save someone the trouble that we went through.

I can not think of enough positive things to say about Ryan and SpiritSound. There was a great deal of responsiveness on his part. We talked over the phone and he answered the many questions I had written down, without my even having to ask them. The day of the wedding, he and his assistant were absolutely professional. They helped move things seamlessly working with our wedding coordinator AND the photographer. We likely would have been a hot mess without him. He handled some wrenches my husband threw at him. (Like deciding last minute to announce his daughter in our entrance.) We had an older crowd, but he managed to get the younger people up and dancing, myself included and I tend to save that for being alone and cleaning my apartment. We made the right choice in going with SpiritSound!
