Let me just start off by saying; my (now) husband and I love good food. It's something that over the years has become a centerpiece of our relationship and is certainly one of the first things that comes to mind when we think of a joyous occasion or celebration - 'what are we going to eat?!?' So when it came time to plan our wedding; we KNEW we wanted to have good food for our guests. I found SPREAD thru a recommendation of our rehearsal dinner venue space. A quick look at their website and sample menus made me feel like we were certainly going in the right direction. We got in touch with John, had some great conversations, and set up a tasting for over the Christmas holiday (my husband and I live in NYC). We knew we needed to win over my in-laws who are even more serious about food that we are. We had a beautiful tasting menu with John and it sealed the deal that we had found the perfect chef for our special day! We also decided - why mess with a good thing? We had SPREAD cater our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception. Leading up to the wedding, we met Marilyn who became our boots on the ground contact. She and John helped us finalize a gorgeous menu, pick out small batch wines for our guests, and get everything in place with our vendors. And we had fun doing it! Finally, the weekend came - everything was FLAWLESS. I feel like so often I've heard friends say (of their wedding caterers); well everything was great at the tasting - but the food was lacking the actual day of. I trusted John and SPREAD so much that we didn't taste the exact menu of our rehearsal dinner or wedding reception - we just picked what sounded good and trusted our guts. That was the right decision! Our guests were RAVING about the food for days, and weeks, and probably will be forever to come. We were THRILLED. Everything was served family style (which we loved for an intimate feeling) and was all served in a timely manner and there was PLENTY to go around. I truly can't believe how good the food was. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. What I'm trying to say is; I'm pre jealous of every single person who is choosing SPREAD to cater their wedding - because they are in for a once in a lifetime culinary experience. Thanks Marilyn and John - y'all are the best.

SPREAD blew me away from the second they shared menu options. The ingredients were creative and focused on sourcing locally but they weren't your standard (read: boring) wedding food. I love shrimp & grits and pimento cheese, but those shouldn't be your only option for a southern wedding. The price to book the SPREAD team was comparable to other options for wedding catering, but the sophisticated menu and hospitality from SPREAD was far superior to my experience with other local chefs & catering companies. You can tell hospitality is of the utmost importance to the team at SPREAD. They made us feel like we were special! The head chef, John, is so warm and friendly, as is their Director of Marketing/Events/Operations, Marilyn. I was so impressed by the chef's ability to work with our venue, which didn't provide a full kitchen. The food was super fresh and hot and everything was cooked perfectly for 140+ people, family-style. We would definitely put this meal in our top 10 of all time. I cannot recommend SPREAD enough for your next event-- big or small!
