e fried chicken was spot on. We were there 3 nights, we couldnt do buffet 3 nights in a row so one night we drove just 4 miles or so to the mexican restaurant that looked a little sus from the outside, but when you went in it was a great place with great food. The lodge is wonderful, I will come back again!

e. Someone has done a lot of great finish work but…. Hospitality Rule #1. People remember how they are treated. - [ ] Just be aware, if you are out-of-state you have to pay a $15 fee at the entrance of the State Park just to get to the hotel. Should be on the website. -Upon entering, one employee behind the counter was sharing something on her phone with another, and was clearly annoyed we interrupted. Put the phones away! - [ ] Booked King room but “day shift changed us to Q/Q.” Didn’t talk to us about it. They would “find us a king room and bring in a fan if we wanted a room (without proper ventilation!)” said “J” with an attitude, and same employee with the phone. $393 to just take what we get. Why bother choosing? - [ ] Be prepared to walk from the parking garage (not connected) rain or shine. No shuttle offered for rain-drenched patrons. - [ ] Food is meh…buffet offered was very basic/traditional. I asked, “what kind of fish is this?” The attendant said, “Umm, it’s white fish, I don’t know.” (again with the attitude) Why? - [ ] It’s a clean place. The beams and architecture are cool, the rooms are semi-quiet. The vent between rooms allow you to hear conversations next door pretty easily, unless your tv is on. Rooms are clean. Bathroom is well finished, except the lighting. Air unit is difficult to adjust. Either freezing or hot air blowing at the head of the bed, which was poor planning. Beds lack stability unless you weigh less than 150#. Husband is 6’3”, 240# and his bed was like sleeping in trendelenberg position. I’m not kidding. He looked like he was upside down on a seesaw. He ended up sleeping in the floor because it was more comfortable for him. I was okay. Lots of nice pillows were provided. -Can appreciate the historical value of the building but would I stay here again? Mainly due to the poor service, beds and air placement, I would say, no. Your people need proper training. Lose the attitudes. Be better. This place deserves better.

e to get ahold of me. No room phones either. Wifi was also spotty. Wifi didn't work more than it worked in my room. Be prepared for lots of walking. I had an injured person in my party, and she wasn't able to do most things. Also, the room was small! The bathroom door was only two feet wide and the bathroom itself was very narrow. One of the beds was against the wall. Also the restaurant was buffet only. There was no menu ordering. Now that I have complained a lot, heres the nice things. Staff was very nice. Things were very clean. Parking in the garage was easy. Each room had a minisplit heat/ac unit. It worked very well. There is a page in the room binder on how to change the temperature, fan speed, and blowing pattern. The beds were very comfortable and came with six pillows on each bed. There was an in room refrigerator.The Pioneer Village was very nice. It was also very nice that a church service was offered in the Pioneer Village. I greatly enjoyed it, but only happened to find out about it by accident. I didn't visit it, but there was a game room available. I really enjoyed the outdoor patios at the hotel. They are conveniently located and well kept. The view from the patios of the large trees and rolling hills was beautiful.

have any hand soap either, so he had to go back down and get that, too. The next morning while checking out there were two staff members at the desk. I said "so when we checked in our room didn't have any toilet paper, hand soap, or trash bags in the trash cans." Staff member 1: "well, we actually don't put trashbags in the trashcans to be more eco friendly, but I'm sorry about the hand soap." Me: "Gotta be honest, no toilet paper was the bigger prob--" Staff member 2, interrupting me: "would you like your receipt?" And then gave it to me and said "have a nice day," clearly uninterested in feedback or the fact that the room was improperly prepared for guests. (Also. No trashbags? You mean people are throwing their children's diapers and used personal hygiene items in the unlined trash cans???? I am seriously grossed out by this.)
