Rehearsal Dinner Set-Up: Our agreement was clear — we would supply the tables and chairs per your request, while you would handle set up & decorating yourself. I ended up bringing you décor the day before for you to use as you had not gotten anything together. Upon our arrival, we noticed the set up hadn't been initiated, and our team stepped up to cover this for you, waiving the usual fee. You mentioned that the two of you had a few questions, and I called you on Monday for a phone call that turned out to be an hour and a half…at which time you informed me that you 'needed me at your rehearsal dinner to show you and your bridal party how to walk down the aisle'. When I arrived as planned, I was informed that the people from your bridal party were not going to make it. This is the night before your wedding, we had a ton of things to do, but instead we drove an hour 1 way to be there for you. & though you said you did not see the décor, I showed it to you while I was there and you said you loved it. Bar Arrangements: The bar set-up and break-down was always your responsibility, as we discussed multiple times in advance and I reminded you & your wife the night before. Nevertheless, recognizing the urgency with guests arriving in one hour, our team went above and beyond to set up an 800+ pound bar outside during a 100-degree heatwave, all while managing our other core tasks for the day. Although it took three team members an hour of nonstop labor to do it, we did not charge you for this extra service. For Future Brides ~ Please note that everything that you bring to the house, you are responsible to deal with. If you hire our decorating team, they decorate with our décor that we bring. Also, Bartenders are paid solely to pour drinks. The one they chose brings nothing but some cups and a tip jar and pours for 6 straight hours for $300. A VERY fair price. Concerning the Baby: In no way did our staff deliberately disturb the baby. The baby was situated in the main living area of the home, an open space that adjoins the kitchen, which our team needed to utilized for routine activities such as washing dishes and storing food. Expecting a baby to sleep in the room closest to the DJ during a 6 hour wedding was highly unlikely. I'm surprised that you compared that to the night previous when there was not a DJ…maybe that just didn't occur to you. There was a bedroom that MIGHT have been quiet enough for a baby to sleep in, but definitely not the livingroom directly over where the DJ was set up. Windows & Bugs: Due to the venue's proximity to the sea, windows are to remain closed at all times to mitigate salt damage. This was laid out clearly in the rules and rental agreement on Airbnb, which apparently you chose not to take the time to read. Opening the windows, (which do not have screens as they dim the view) will unfortunately, lead to bugs entering. Naders Pest Control comes out quarterly to spray the interior and exterior of the home. Unfortunately, we have had to pay Naders to come out two additional times since you occupied the home and opened the windows. Catering: Your account of the taco bar seems to miss some details. The offering was comprehensive with all of the follow items listed on the menu that you selected for your wedding. MENUS ~ TACO/FAJITA BAR ~ Grilled Chicken Steak Fajita Style Beans & Rice Queso Hard Shells & Flour Tortillas Lettuce Shredded Cheese Pico De Gallo, Guacamole Sour Cream Chips & Salsa . This is our least expensive menu selection. We have a much larger one which is our most popular menu, but you chose the all you can eat taco bar. Many of your guests went back for seconds and some went back for thirds, but still there was a ton of left over food which we took home at your suggestion. I'm not sure what you meant when you said that we ate YOUR food. You paid for your food and we handled the 10 extra people directly with our chef. Did you expect us all to leave in the middle of your wedding and go out to buy dinner instead of eating at the venue? Far out! Brides, if we can take an hour off in the middle of your wedding and go have dinner instead of working for 10 to 12 hours straight- please let us know ahead of time and we won't pay the chef to barely have time to eat the extra food he brings for us! Everything was there for the entire 2.5 hours that both the chefs stayed waiting for you to arrive at your reception. I also mentioned to you more than one time that your plates were at your table waiting for you as you passed by on your way to go get more pictures taken. Photo booth/Special decor: You asked me for a recommendation of a photobooth and I arranged for a great company to come up from Daytona Beach for $350, half the price they normally charge. But you decided to go with the DIY approach, telling me in Monday's hour and a half phone call that your maid of honor would be handling putting it together and how proud you were to not have to pay ridiculous prices for a pro to come out. You then purchased a 10 x10 frame and a 3x12 gold sequined material instead of a curtain. This created some serious challenges, which we should have just said no to as soon as we saw the dilemma. Again, It was your responsibility to set up the photobooth – and any other special décor you brought. Yet, due to the person you expected to do it staying in the AC instead of facing the triple digit temperatures, we did our best to jump in and help. In exchange, she was supposed to put together the easle you asked me to bring – but I guess she pasased that on to your mom..? She was smarter than us, I'm sure she took one look at the material and she realized the errors you had made and had us do it. Either way, I am very sorry that you were disappointed. We were, too. DJ and Microphone: During our very long conversation on Monday night, you told me that you wrote in your notes to tell the DJ that you would need him to provide a microphone for the ceremony. I spoke to him after reading your review and was told that he never received any text or call from you regarding the microphone, but that he did have 2 available at the wedding had anyone asked for one. Cake: Our baker supplies a box to preserve the cake's quality. Your's apparently did not. In its absence, we did our best to store the first tier of your cake. To ensure you had the opportunity to enjoy your cake (and dinner), we personally delivered the first two slices to your seats. When we were done passing out the cake, there were at least 15+ pieces of cake remaining. Microwave: The venue was equipped with two kitchens and two microwaves. Had we been informed about the malfunction, we would have immediately addressed it. Dream Team: We provided direct contact information for all members of our dream team months prior to the wedding. PJ, in particular, boasts a track record of happy brides. While you found her approach lacking, many vouch for her dedication and efficiency. The day's unique challenges, accentuated by the extraordinary heatwave, certainly tested our team's adaptability. We all stayed an extra 45 minutes to be sure that you had time to do all of the activities that you wanted to do, which was our first priority. Extra Mile Efforts: • Officiant Fees: When the wedding ran behind schedule, we compensated the officiant an additional $135 to ensure your ceremony wasn't interrupted. This charge was not passed on to you. • Setup: The rehearsal dinner that you said you did not need our help with but somehow we ended up decorating and setting it all up for you, the bar and photo booth setups were all outside of our initial agreement. However, our team managed all — at no additional charge — to ensure a smooth flow for the event. The ladies who set up the bar for you were paid an additional $150 to compensate them. • Hors d'oeuvres: I personally never saw the appetizers, nor did either of you as you entered the dining area 4 hours after the wedding started, but reflecting upon your feedback, we proactively provided you with a 50% refund. • Evening Extension: As the cake-cutting extended beyond the scheduled end time of your wedding, we voluntarily extended the evening by 45 minutes at no extra charge to ensure everything ran smoothly. I believe that you simply ran out of time. You mentioned wanting to have a firepit – and we provided everything you needed from wood to the ingredients to make smores – then you didn't have time to do the firepit. You asked to 'borrow' our chocolate fountain instead of paying us to get the ingredients and set it up for you, and I agreed, but you didn't find the time to buy the ingredients so the fountain was not used. You bought the DIY photobooth, but didn't take the time to set it up and see how it looked, if you had I'm sure that you would have realized that there was not half enough material to make it work. You asked me to buy extra stuff for you, which I happily did. A 2nd easle that you did not use, a basket that you did not use, containers for lemons and limes that you were going to cut up for your bar that you never did even buy. You had the numbers to all of the vendors and said you would contact the DJ about the microphone, but you didn't. Joy and I discussed the bar the night before (again) and I reminded her to have it completely ready by 4 for the bartender, but we ended up having to do it. Sarah, you have told me more than once since your wedding how "very kind and generous" I am. I assure you that I will keep being kind and generous to all of our staff and those that we host, despite the very unkind and unfair review that you have left our team. Sadly, the one person that you say that you liked from our team (besides the officiant who you didn't know I had to pay to get her to stay the extra hour and a half past your ceremony start time) is the photographer. She took amazing pictures of you and you have requestd she and I to not post them on our Facebook page where our 3500 followers could see her work and perhaps hire her for their wedding. In wrapping up, we genuinely regret any moments that didn't align with your expectations. We want to emphasize that our team gave their all to ensure the day went smoothly and endeavored to bring your vision to life. However, with much of our time dedicated to tasks not initially assigned to us, it was challenging to fully realize your decor vision for the day. Our hope is that amidst these concerns, you'll still hold onto the numerous positive and cherished memories from your wedding day.
