was in NY for my bridal shower for my trial. They knew exactly what I wanted and were so professional. The morning of the wedding they were punctual, set up and ready to go when we got to the venue. They worked like a well oiled machine together, while listening closely to the wants of all my girls and bringing their visions to life. n going to Melissa for years for my hair, so there was no question she was the right choice for me. Tiffany (makeup), I had met recently, and had a trial for my engagement shoot. It was the HOTTEST day of the year, and my makeup (and hair) lasted all day long until the evening shoot in 95 degree weather with 100% humidity. I also had Melissa and Tiffany do me up for my bridal shower - they are a tag team, and have been working together forever. On the day of my wedding, I had a tight schedule with hair/makeup before pictures where everyone had to be ready, and they both assured me that they’d work within the time they had. Needless to say the day of, all went smoothly! My bridesmaids we’re so happy with their looks the day of, one of them admitting that her hair that day may have been better than her own wedding day updo. Thank you both for putting me at ease, and making me feel like the most beautiful bride ever!

the pre-wedding hair & makeup trial, it was very easy to work with Melissa and Tiffany to finalize the look that was right for me for the big day (makeup: mostly a natural look with some slight enhancements, hair: updo with loose curls, a braid and a flower crown). Also, both were able to adapt their styles and techniques for a variety of requests from our bridal party and other beauty guests. In particular, two of my bridesmaids are Indian and Melissa and Tiffany were more than capable of creating looks for a range of skin tones and hair textures. Other requests ranged from a look to complement one of my friend’s trendy look (who had a side head shave) to a makeup look that helped my mom reduced the appearance of her rosacea. Lastly, Melissa and Tiffany were very flexible during the wedding day. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had two beauty guests that were unable to arrive and we were able to sub them with other guests. And during this process, we were actually able to add another guest. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their looks. My friend even shared her look to her 2,000+ followers on Instagram.

I wanted a very natural look in terms of makeup, and I am glad I went to do the trial because we were able to figure out what I didn't want (no lashes, no liner). And I thank Tiffany for being flexible on the day of as well, as we made a decision to not do the spray air-brush, and instead start again using a very light foundation. It was perfect and I felt beautiful. And thank you to Melissa who made my hair look fantastic half up and half down, with curls! And thank you for respecting my bridesmaid's request of no hair spray. My sister loved her full updo as well, and I was impressed how well the hairdos held even the days after. And the flower girls' hair was adorable and perfect. Thank you very much - you two are AMAZING at what you do.

so everyone had a fun, easy time getting ready for the wedding! They use Venmo and other electronic money transferring apps, so payment for all the girls was very easy as we all paid for ourselves.

truly amazing. She really knows what she's doing and though she'll do nearly whatever you ask her to do with your hair, she has a great eye for what will look good for you. I primarily chose this team because of Melissa and her ability to do a fantastic job on hair. Tiffany is fantastic at applying makeup and, when given direction, will do exactly what you tell her. She's great at making sure the makeup and all aspects of your face look even and smooth so please know everyone will look pretty. While she doesn't necessarily have the eye for makeup that Melissa has for hair, you truly won't be disappointed with Tiffany. She listens and will essentially do whatever she can to make sure you're happy with the look she gives you. I'm not a makeup connoisseur and am very indecisive so I had hoped for more guidance in figuring out what I wanted, but as I had a couple makeup trials before booking Dutchess County Hairstylist, I came to learn what styles looked good and was able to convey that to Tiffany, which ensured I was very happy with my wedding day makeup because Tiffany knows how to deliver. On my wedding day, Tiffany arrived early and Melissa was only a couple minutes late so we were able to start mostly on time and finished on schedule. Tiffany managed to efficiently and beautifully work ahead of schedule, but Melissa's final product was definitely worth the wait. I will say that if you don't hire them to stick around for reapplication (which I didn't, but they do offer these services for a reasonable fee), be sure to bring extra concealer or foundation. By the reception entrances, a good amount of my foundation had rubbed off my nose and I would've looked for rudolph if I didn't reapply. You won't be disappointed, though, if you book Melissa and Tiffany. They are a great and affordable team and I don't regret my decision at all!

r a team that could handle my hair and makeup, and four bridesmaids the day of my wedding in Poughkeepsie. They arrived on time and ready to jump in. They both requested a photo of a hair style and look I was after. During the trial, I gave them both feedback so that we could go from the photos I brought and then adjust to my own preferences that deviated a bit from the photos. They were both very accommodating and patient. Between their talent and flexibility, and my feedback, they created the perfect princess look I was after. They were great with my girls, too! I had each girl bring a photo of their look, and they fashioned hair and makeup that both resembled the photo, but worked with the natural features of each girl. I’m so pleased to offer my praise and highest recommendation to them both. Melissa and Tiffany are both incredibly talented and professional.

so that my hair would look even nicer than the trial and she was spot on. She met us at the hotel we stayed at the night before and started with our hair at 5am so we would all be ready and at the venue by 10:30am. All six of us had different hair types and she was able to whip everyone's hair into shape. Everyone was thrilled with the way their hair turned out, we all looked beautiful and it stayed looking beautiful all the way until the end of the night. In addition Melissa's assistant was great and was able to do one of my bridesmaids makeup on the spot. The vibe the morning of my wedding was exactly what i was hoping for, both ladies are highly personable and the playlist they used was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better vendor :)

lovely on my wedding day and it held up pretty well and was a decent value; however, the owner Melissa's lack of professionalism during and after my wedding left a very poor taste in my mouth that I had to share. Melissa insisted on having a photo of what we wanted so she could duplicate it, but she lacked that extra artistic instinct to create looks of her own or to expand on pictures and ideas. My trial went fine, a bit rushed, and nothing more than duplicating my photos. The day of my wedding, my maid of honor was less than pleased with the results of her hair, but was trying to give her more ideas to work with; she was met with rolling eyes, dismissive attitudes and scoffing. This was predominantly directed at me, the bride, on my wedding day, behind my sister's back and it was less than appreciated. It truly made me feel uncomfortable. All this aside, I was not going to write a bad review because I hate doing it; everyone has an off day and I don't want to hurt anyone's way to make a living. Then, following my wedding day, I was sent MULTIPLE text messages every couple days asking me to write a review. It became such an issue that I finally had to explain that I wouldn't give 5 stars and didn't want to write one if it wasn't good. To my surprise, after all the messages, instead of being asked where she could make improvements or what went wrong, I was simply dismissed. I then decided to try to explain to her what happened and why I felt unhappy, and never even got a response. Overall, I would personally not recommend this hairdresser, but I cannot speak to the quality of the makeup artists she works with because the only artist who had a portfolio, was unable to attend on my wedding date.
