From the moment we started planning our wedding, we knew St. Luke's Chapel in Charleston would be a magical place to say our vows. And truly, it surpassed every expectation.
The Venue: St. Luke's Chapel is a gem in the heart of Charleston. Its historical charm blends seamlessly with its beautifully maintained structure, creating an ambiance that is both elegant and welcoming. The chapel's stunning architecture, with its intricate stained glass and perfect acoustics, provided a fairy-tale backdrop for our ceremony. Its quaint size made our wedding feel intimate and personal, which was exactly what we were looking for.
The Coordinator: Elizabeth, the coordinator, was a star from start to finish. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Elizabeth coordinated with our planner and vendors effortlessly and ensured that every aspect of our day went off without a hitch.
The Experience: The chapel's setting in the historic district of Charleston added a special touch to our day, offering beautiful photo opportunities and a charming atmosphere for our guests. From the enchanting walk down the aisle to the heartfelt exchange of vows under the chapel's soaring ceilings, every moment felt like a page out of a storybook.
Final Thoughts: Our wedding at St. Luke's Chapel was nothing short of amazing. It's a place where history, beauty, and romance intertwine, creating a perfect venue for a wedding. The support and guidance from Elizabeth were invaluable, making our special day not just a dream come true, but a cherished memory we will hold forever. To any couples considering this venue, we highly recommend it – you won't be disappointed!
I’ll never be able to say enough how much I loved the opportunity to be married in this church. I’d previously been a guest at 2 weddings here and loved it so much, I never looked elsewhere for our ceremony spot. Our wedding had a Scottish touch and St Luke’s was perfect! Elizabeth was so easy to work with! The church is so quaint and beautiful that you really can get by with minimal decoration- perfect for my vision and budget. The church, the grounds, it’s all just so beautiful. Getting ready, married and reception in one spot certainly would have been easier, but I’d choose St Luke’s a hundred times over.
We loved having our wedding at St. Luke's Chapel! The chapel is stunning, and I was so pleased that we could have the intimate feel we wanted without spending too much time, effort, and money on decorations and rental fees. Photos inside and outside turned out amazing! Parking was convenient (which is a luxury in downtown Charleston). Mrs. Brown was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend St. Luke's for your wedding venue!
Beautiful non denominational chapel on MUSC's campus with gorgeous stain glass windows and an impressive pipe organ - was a perfect place for our wedding ceremony and Mrs. Elizabeth, the chapel's director, is so helpful with coordinating and assisting with all the little but important details.
The most beautiful Charleston chapel for a Charleston wedding!!!
St. Lukes was a beautiful place for our ceremony! The pictures are great, both inside and out. The staff was friendly and accommodating!
We're so happy we chose St. Luke's for our wedding ceremony. It is a beautiful and timeless venue. The staff we communicated with were wonderful and we had a fabulous day. Would highly recommend!
The soaring ceiling, timbered framing and arched stained glass windows of St. Luke's Chapel make it a breathtaking venue for a wedding, and it was the perfect downtown location for our own daughter's wedding. Our church, Holy Cross Daniel Island, is located quite a distance from the reception site, Hibernian Hall, so we were thrilled to have use of such a beautiful and well-located chapel, yet be able to use our own pastor and organist for the ceremony. Elizabeth, St. Luke's manager and Susie, St. Luke's sexton, assisted and accommodated our needs in every way, during planning, rehearsal, and the wedding, itself. Since St. Luke's is a downtown location, the closest available parking was the MUSC parking two blocks away; however, the limobus was allowed to dropoff and pickup the wedding party at the loading area at the foot of St. Luke's beautifully landscaped courtyard. Additionally, a bridal room, as well as a small groom's room, located at opposite ends of the building and both with adjoining restrooms, are onsite. Whether local or from away, St. Luke's Chapel is a gloriously beautiful venue for a downtown Charleston wedding!
St. Luke's Chapel is stunning. We didn't even need any flowers because the chapel itself was enough. We took a ton of pictures on the grounds as well because it's just beautiful. It was absolutely perfect!
We chose St. Luke's Chapel because I am an employee at MUSC and the price for the venue was very reasonable. The chapel itself is beautifully restored since being destroyed during Hurricane Hugo. The area outside of the chapel was also excellent for photography. Barbara Wallace was wonderful to work with - she was very prompt in returning my messages and very accommodating to me and my family.
We stumbled upon St. Luke's Chapel during our search for a ceremony venue and I couldn't be happier. The chapel is gorgeous and the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful! St. Luke's, both inside and outside, was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. I'm still amazed with our luck of finding such a beautiful location as I look back through all the pictures from that day. My husband and I were thrilled with our experience at St. Luke's and our guests were full of compliments.
The historic chapel fit with our theme and it was gorgeous. The chapel is owned by the Medical University of SC, and if you're a student or faculty you get to use the chapel for next to nothing! This made it a complete steal. The chapel director was amazing in helping me with whatever I needed. They don't have rules as far as who the officiant must be, and allowed one of my professors (who's a notary) to marry us. They were also ok with my 60 lb Australian Sheppard being in the wedding!
Beautiful chapel! Great price for a downtown location.
This is a very beautiful historic chapel in downtown Charleston. It is available for anyone to rent. It has beautiful stained glass windows and the architecture is to die for. I was married there in October and it was so amazing!
There is a beautiful pipe organ as well as a stereo system if you prefer. Plenty of room for a small ensamble as well. Whatever you want can happen here! The director sits down with you to help make sure everything is set up the right way. I couldn't have asked for anything more!
