The Rev. Guy A. Leemhuis is the Priest-in-Charge at St. Lukes of the Mountains, Episcopal Church, and he presides over a century of history. Back in 1923, Seymour Thomas had a vision for a stone church that reflected the rocky hillside and the diverse community of the area. This famed artist created a painting that inspired people to gather the stones for a new church. In 1931, this new spiritual center was admitted as a parish church of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. In 1949, its congregation had grown to the point where they needed more space. Seymour Thomas once again painted a vision, and once again, the community heeded a call for stones. Additionally, in the 1950s, the church obtained the adjacent building - a former county fire station that would eventually become The Fire House youth center.
Sadler Hall is the period-style parish hall of this venue. This inviting event space has a floor plan of over 1,800 square feet that includes a performance stage, a sizeable kitchen, and two restrooms. Your caterer can prepare a wedding meal in the kitchen, and the stage offers options for a ceremony, reception speeches, and entertainment. Outside is a picturesque courtyard, providing you with the opportunity to celebrate your love outdoors with your nearest and dearest. You can wed as you choose at St. Lukes of the Mountains, Episcopal Church.

This quaint 100-yr old church was a great venue for our wedding. From the intimate sanctuary for the ceremony to the nice outdoor courtyard for the reception to the hall with plent...
y of room for dancing, a stage for a DJ/band & a kitchen area, this venue has much to offer & is ideal for a small to mid-size wedding. It's especially great if you are on a budget or want to have a mostly DIY wedding as you aren't restricted to the venue's vendor list. This church is inclusive and welcomes all regardless of race/color/gender identity/sexuality, etc.
