I don’t know where to begin. This venue is beautiful. I had a micro wedding here, so around 40 guests. This is a perfect venue for a micro wedding. I was hesitant and first, but I’m so glad I picked here for the wedding. Next, Sara, the coordinator here, is amazing. She goes above and beyond. She bustled my dress and fixed my hair. Made sure everything was perfect. You can’t set up until the day of, but she did a lot of the setting up herself. Honestly, she made sure all my vendors knew where to go. They were on top of everything and it made the day of such a breeze. You have to pick one of the 4 caterers and A Taste of Excellence was really really good! I got compliments on the food. Overall, definitely consider here as a venue for your wedding!
Sarah was great to work with! Everything went smoothly and was absolutely perfect! The grounds are beautiful! We had our dream wedding
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is truly a spectacular wedding venue that offers endless opportunities for breathtaking photography. As Seth and Beth Wedding Photography, we’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless timeless moments here. The stunning architecture, lush gardens, and historic charm create the perfect backdrop for any couple’s special day. Our long-standing relationship with Stan Hywet has allowed us to discover all the hidden gems and unique angles, making every wedding we photograph there a unique and unforgettable experience. It’s a dream location for any wedding photographer.
Stan Hywet is one of our favorite places to visit, and we just had our wedding here. It went beautifully thanks to the Stan Hywet team! We worked with Sharon to organize and plan everything, and she did an amazing job and was so helpful! We had our ceremony and Chinese tea ceremony at the West Overlook and our reception in the Carriage house, and both locations were beautiful and exactly what we wanted! If you're looking for a venue for a serene garden wedding, this is the place for you! I cannot recommend it enough!
I truly cannot recommend Stan Hywet as a wedding venue enough. Sara Crane is the most amazing wedding coordinator I've ever met! Because of her and the Stan Hywet staff, my wedding went so much better than I ever could've imagined. I worried about nothing, because they handled every detail.
Whether it was centerpieces or timelines or guest counts, Sara Crane at Stan Hywet handled all my questions flawlessly. She always responded promptly in emails. She attended the first walkthrough, the final walkthrough, the rehearsal, the ceremony, and the start of the reception with us every step of the way. I really can't thank her enough.
For the price, you genuinely do get your money's worth. Stan Hywet provided me so much peace of mind compared to other options I was considering. Stan Hywet was accommodating with our requests and so accepting of our other vendors as well!
I would recommend Stan Hywet to every future bride out there! Stan Hywet will forever have a place in my heart.
Stan Hywet was such an amazing venue that I do not even know where to begin! From the moment we initially toured to the moment we left the venue on our wedding day, they went above and beyond to ensure that everything went perfectly. The venue is absolutely stunning and we received so many compliments from our guests! If you want to feel absolutely royal and have the most flawless wedding day, you must book Stan Hywet!!
Stan Hywet is such a stunning venue and is so accommodating in every aspect of the planning and day of flow. I cannot recommend this venue enough to people, plus it's amazing for photos. the staff was so kind and helpful, as a lot of my family needed trams to get around; it was such a relief to know that everyone and everything was taken care of.
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens was the most stunning setting for our September wedding! Sharon, Rebecca, and Scott were beyond professional in helping us plan the absolutely perfect day. The grounds are incredibly magical, especially the 500-foot birch tree allee and Tea Houses, which is where we were married. There are unlimited opportunities to capture gorgeous photos and videos in this beautiful, historic location. We highly recommend having your wedding at Stan Hywet for an exceptional event experience!
My wife and I hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in August'22. The coordination support we received from their team (Sara, Brigit, Rebecca, Harvey, Scott) throughout was top notch; they took great care of us and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. It was a huge relief on the day of the wedding to have such a great, attentive team keeping everything on track. We would highly recommend working with SHHG for future events.
The staff at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens were excellent! My husband and I are in awe of their amazing work on our special day and they run the show like a fine oiled machine. We are sending our endless thanks and gratitude to everyone that made our wedding day so special, especially Sharon Hershey, who worked with me for months to make this day beautiful. We could not be more thrilled with how the day went and how fantastic Stan Hywet is!!!
Absolutely wonderful! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Stan Hywet and it was everything we could have hoped for and more! From the start, Stan Hywet was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional (not to mention responsive to all out questions). They made the booking process of their venue and the caterer incredibly easy. On the day of our wedding, they were attentive to our needs which allowed us to feel comfortable and care-free during a notoriously high-stress time. Obviously the gardens and Manor Hall are gorgeous, and we continue to receive compliments from our guests about how perfect our wedding was. My husband and I cannot recommend Stan Hywet highly enough!
We just had our wedding ceremony on the South Terrace at Stan Hywet, and I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff. Naturally, Stan Hywet and all the gardens are breathtakingly beautiful, but truly the staff was just as impressive. Every single person we worked with was so kind and sincerely excited for us. They have it all down to a science helping make the rehearsal go so smoothly, helping us pick flowers for decor, getting us umbrellas when a drizzle threatened to pop up, go carting anyone in need around, watching the weather for us...I could go on and on. It was a beautiful ceremony, but the experience and peace of mind working with a group like this just made it that much better. It was the best day of our lives, and we are so grateful to Stan Hywet.
Sharon and her team were so helpful to make sure our ceremony went off without a hitch on our wedding day! It was really awesome to see how well the Stan Hywet team communicated with each other regarding the whereabouts of the different wedding party attendees from the bridal party to the guests. I am glad they coordinated nearly perfect fall foliage for our late October wedding as well :)
We held our reception in the Stan Hywet Manor House Reception Hall in April 2021. All of the staff and volunteers at Stan Hywet were extremely helpful throughout the planning process and the actual event. We loved that our guests were able to tour the Manor House and grounds during our cocktail hour. The reception hall itself is somewhat of a blank slate, but Stan Hywet was very helpful in suggesting vendors to help us elevate the space with lighting and decor. If you're looking for a unique Akron venue with a gorgeous backdrop for photos, Stan Hywet is the place to go!
With everything going on this year safe to say the planning process had been bumpy, being this venue was our second plan it turned out to be the most magical day! We wouldn’t have wished for anything else! Sharon Hershey was amazing to work with, I would email her a million questions about all the adjusting Covid policies and she would email me back immediately. She truly went above and beyond to put my worried bride mind at ease. Both my husband and I couldn’t have been happier the day of, with wonderful weather and the perfect location this was a dream venue.
We had both our ceremony and reception at Stan Hywet. The day of everything was extremely organized and obviously the gardens are gorgeous! Everything went off smoothly and I have no regrets about having our wedding here.
However, working with Stan Hywet leading up to the wedding was a bit frustrating. In person they were wonderful, but their communication otherwise was sporadic. It would take 1-2 weeks to get any response to an email. I would have liked all of the information they had up front instead of having to ask for every little thing and wait for a response.
We recently shot an engagement session here and couldn't be happier with the result. Your staff was so friendly and despite the rain we had an amazing time and were able to get some pretty great pictures. Will definitely come back!
Mindy was our coordinator and who we worked with for nearly a year planning our ceremony here. We chose to have our reception elsewhere, but Mindy was amazing to work with while planning our ceremony. When it came to our rehearsal and actual ceremony, Sharon worked more with us, and was great!! She was very helpful and had great ideas for us. On our actual wedding day, it rained non-stop and we ultimately had to have our ceremony in the tent, which they dressed up very beautifully. Valerie was also amazing and she worked with us on our wedding day. Highly recommend this venue; it's beautiful, timeless, and the staff are all so amazing!
Sharon was our wedding coordinator. Very helpful with information, organization, planning, communication between us and other vendors and making sure we got the day we dreamed of. It was absolutely beautiful and I cannot rave enough about the staff and all their assistance making sure we got everything done at the right time, we did not see one another and every little detail was perfectly cared for. Was not nervous at all for the day, and you shouldn't be either if you use Stan Hywet. Gorgeous venue, great staff....HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
I honestly never go on these websites and rate people or businesses badly but my sister played guitar for a bride that had her wedding at this venue, and as I am currently planning my wedding, I would want to know about a bad experience with the staff, even if it was just a musician.
My sister and my father were treated very badly by the wedding coordinator that they have here. While my sister was trying to set up her equipment and get information on where she needs to be, the coordinator had the audacity to call my father her "groupy" and that he needed to "chill", when he was just asking a few questions. Then when she was setting up where she was supposed to sit (after having very little help on where she needed to be) the coordinator came to her and had her move while rudely remarking that she was a diva and needed to move and this was the brides day, as if she was trying to make herself the center of attention.
I'm sure they have a beautiful space for weddings and maybe we caught this coordinator on a bad day, but he should not have been treating my family like this and I personally would not want to have my wedding at a location where the coordinator was so rude to other people working these weddings.
We didn't have our reception here but came for pictures! We lucked out with the weather and had beautiful partly sunny skies. Isabella was our tour guide/escort around the grounds and brought along water for us. She hailed golf carts to bring us around and was a great support. Our pictures are beautiful and the arrangement was well-worth it!
We had our ceremony at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens on the West Terrace. Sharon was an excellent coordinator. All the staff was very professional and very organized. The rehearsal was well laid out and all communication surrounding the day was conducted in a timely fashion and an organized manner. During photos the staff kept other visitors out of our space and provided water for the bridal party. It did start to rain during pictures and the staff was right on hand with umbrellas for everyone. I cannot wait to see our pictures around the grounds and with the reflecting pool!
Our reception had about 150 guests and we were in the Manor House. Sharon made the planning process so easy for the year leading up to the day. She was always thinking one step ahead and made sure that all questions were answered ASAP. She took it upon herself to contact all other vendors that were partaking in our day, to make sure that everyone was coordinated and on the same page, which took off a lot of stress. It was almost as if we had a wedding planner! Sharon and her staff allowed us to have a flawless reception with absolutely zero issues. The guests were able to roam the gardens during cocktail hour and the earlier hours of the reception. We received endless compliments on the staff and the location.
John and his staff made my dream ceremony come true! We were assigned one staff with the bride, one staff with the groom and one event coordinator (john). The staff were experienced and knew exactly what to do to make it my dream wedding. We decided to not see each other before the wedding and had it not been for the staff at Stan Hywet this would have not been possible (or would have caused considerable stress trying to avoid each other). The ceremony sites are gorgeous and are straight out of a movie. Fairytale wedding come true. Highly recommend.
Stan Hywet was an amazing place to have my ceremony. As an out of town bride Sharon made it so easy for me to work with her and meet her for appointments. The day of was perfect. They have three people assigned to you to allow your wedding to go smoothly and to ensure you don't accidentally see the groom. The ladies were beyond perfect. One of them even sewed my belt when it broke. Stan hywet goes out of its way to make sure everything goes well and that you are happy. I am so glad we chose to have our ceremony there. I am really excited to see the amazing pictures.
Stan hywet was beyond beautiful and extremely accommodating throughout the whole wedding planning process. Sharon was very helpful and made sure everything was handled and ran smoothly. Can't say enough good words on the reception in the manor house absolutely beautiful and everyone was so professional
We were sold on Stan Hywet for our wedding ceremony as soon as we drove up the tree-lined drive and were greeted by an attentive staff member. Aside from the stunning manor house, and beautiful grounds, the staff is truly exceptional. We had an entire support team who masterfully orchestrated the rehearsal and wedding day coordination. We were hoping to have the ceremony outside, but rain forced a last-minute change to their tented chapel, which the staff handled seamlessly. We also have several family members who have trouble walking and various medical needs. The staff spend the time working through these needs with us in advance and made us feel comfortable that all our guests would feel comfortable and well cared for during their visit. We are now happy supporting members of the estate and look forward to returning to the grounds over the seasons to enjoy the beauty and maybe have a family photo shoot on a sunny day!
I was married on 9/6/14 and was very adamant about having Stan Hywet as my venue. I was raised about the beautiful gardens and my family was always a frequent visitor. Sharon was AMAZING and beyond accommodating! We had an idea for a champagne toast which they never did before and she was willing to try everything. Thank you Sharon! The grounds themselves are breathtaking and will save you a ton of money of floral decorations for the ceremony. Nothing is needed. We had about 110 guests on the West Terrance and it was perfect. I highly recommend this amazing venue and great service to anyone looking for an outdoor wedding venue! Love, love, love, this place.
Stan Hywet was the perfect location for our outdoor ceremony. Everyone there went out of there to make sure everything went flawlessly. It was worth every cent. All of our guests thought it was gorgeous and our pictures look amazing! I recommend it to everyone!
Stan Hywet is the perfect place to get married. It has a lot of sentimental value to me and my family so it was a no brainer as to where our wedding was going to be. I had the pleasure of working with Sharon Hershey and she made the planning process very painless. We were married on the West Terrace behind the house which was absolutely beautiful. Stan Hywet provides you with a wide variety of locations to not only get married but to take pictures which was extremely important to us. Getting married at Stan Hywet added an elegance and charm to our wedding that cannot be matched. I would recommend this location to anyone and would recommend booking pretty far in advance if you're thinking about getting married there!
Stan Hywet was SO beautiful. The staff was extremely organized (with headsets and everything) and they made sure the entire day ran smoothly. Also, being an outdoor venue, they had a beautiful back up tent in case of rain, which was wonderful because the entire weekend was stormy. Luckily it cleared up in time and we never had to use it! Overall, we LOVED Stan Hywet.
Stan Hywet is a beautiful place to have an outdoor wedding. Make sure to book early because the time slots book up fast. I do think things could have run a little more smoothly for how much we paid to have our ceremony there, and for how many weddings they do every summer! One of the employees was really rude to the guys, they drove the whole wedding party to the wrong wedding, and the flowers didn't get passed out until I requested it several times. I would definitely still recommend Stan Hywet because it's such a pretty place. The pictures will be amazing.
For a June wedding I wouldn't have had my ceremony, cocktail hour & reception any place else. We got married at the Birch Tree Alle & it was beautiful. The staff there is GREAT & you are treated like the First Lady & President!
I absolutely love this location. It is great for picture taking as well as weddings. My husband and I had our ceremony here a couple weekends ago. However, we were not impressed with the service. It was hard to get a hold of anyone several months before the wedding, but then it seemed like all they wanted to do was bug us a couple weeks before the wedding! Ahhhhh! They were also not very open to ideas for how I wanted the ceremony to go. My pastor had to step up and tell them this is how I wanted it!
My wedding at Stan Hywet Hall was absolutely perfect! The setting is absolutely breathtaking and make for a perfect backdrop for a ceremony. The wedding staff is incredibly organized, coordinated, and accommodating. I didn't have to worry about anything. We only had our ceremony at Stan Hywet, so I don't have any experience with the reception options. I would definitely recommend Stan Hywet to any bride and groom!
Our wedding day ran smoothly without any hiccups thanks to the professional and highly organized staff at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Everyone was very accommodating to help me execute what I had in mind. I have some of the most beautiful wedding photographs to remember the day due to the grounds on premises. My wedding day was a dream come true!
Stan Hywet is my favorite place, which is why I chose it for my ceremony location. The day was beautiful, the photos would be amazing and the guests loved it. If I could complain, they wouldn't let us get photos of us with the grandparents/parents first to get them to reception because they needed the trams for another group that was getting their photos done, not having their wedding, but photos. The grandparents couldn't leave without the trams because they are wheel chair bound, so they were stuck for an hour, couldn't even do the pictures, so we rushed the big family photos because they were getting sick from the sun. If you choose to have your wedding day, check to see what photography groups will be there and get yourself a highly respective name, otherwise you will be bumped back to second place, even though you just got married, for the bigger names. Otherwise, beautiful place and day.
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding or photography. The staff was all extremely helpful throughout the entire day. They were willing to run and grab us last minute things, and were so organized in getting everyone where they needed to be in a timely manner.
Beautiful site
I just had my wedding here two weekends ago. It was breath taking and absolutely perfect. I had it at Birch Tree Alley. The garden was amazing. What was even more impressive was the wedding coordinators. Included in your grounds fee for the ceremony is day of wedding coordinators. They made sure my groom and I didn't see each other before the ceremony. They had people with head sets everywhere to make sure this didn't happen. They made sure everything was timed out perfectly for the ceremony. I could go on forever on how great they did. Everyone has told me how perfect my wedding was and I give most of the credit too Stan Hywett's employees. Worth every penny!
We got married on the West Terrace at Stan Hywet, and it was amazing and the most beautiful setting!! They have 4 sites to choose from for your ceremony, and they are all beautiful, but 2 are especially breathtaking! Birch tree alley was our second choice, and it is also amazing, but we had too many people and it would have been a bit tight. The staff also is great there. They make sure everything runs smoothly for you that day so you do not have to worry about it! They all have headsets on and communicate timing of your music, and who needs to be where at what time, etc. It was great! They even brought me food when I was starving right before I walked down! If you are looking for an outside wedding, you could not find a more gorgeous place to do it! Your pictures will also turn out AMAZING! The only down side is that if you want chairs for your guests, you have to order them, they only provide 20 chairs for you.
I was married at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens on Sept 11,2010. I couldnt asked for anything more beautiful. We got married on the back Stairs of the mansion. our reception was inside in the manor hall. Sharon Hershey was our go to lady. She was alway willing to listen more then helpful and paid our day perfect.
My wedding itself turned out beautifully. Stan Hywet is way overpriced for the services that they provide. Also they are very unorganized.
We had our wedding at Stan Hywet Hall. The ceremony site was beautiful, we used the Dell, and the staff was wonderful. It was a rather rainy day but there was a back up location on site, set up just in case. Best way to plan an outdoor wedding in Ohio.
Honestly the city of Akron Ohio is NOT the city that come to mind when thinking of a gorgeous breathtaking spectacular wedding venue. But go to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens located in the heart of Akron and that location for weddings is that very place. It is a beautiful historical mansion also a museum and cultural center for Ohio residents that has picturesque gardens spectacular views manicured lawns gardens willow trees a lilly pool it is everything you could want. I chose that venue because I wanted my guests to have a variety of experience a beautiful orthodox ceremony outside during the sunny day then the cocktail hour also outside by the gardens so guests could partake of the grounds and then the reception in the Manor House. Having the outside ceremony was the best decision that I made. The back of the Manor House had the dramatic staircase the exquisite gardens and lily pool. It made for an amazing almost fairytale environment. And it just so happened that Sunday May 25th was a sunny GORGEOUS day. I was lucky and blessed that it worked out as well as it did.;The Manor House reception room when you first see it can be dingy and dark but dressed up it is gorgeous and my florist who designed the flowers and the event itself really knew how to make that room come alive. The PR people there must have pictures of the reception room when it is dressed up so make sure and see pictures.
Acme catering was amazing they have no set menu Teresa stared by asking what our favorite tastes smells flavors were and customized an amazing dinner. Stan Hywet is perfect for pictures every single member of the staff is helpful and welcoming they made every guest feel important.;I told my bridesmaids to wear thicker heels because while walking the grounds it is easy to sink or trip
It was cozy and very different from the normal 'hotel carpet' and 'Chandeliers'. It fit our personalities too. Also, it was nice to have our wedding, reception and photos all at the same place. Made it convenient for our guests.;I wouldn't have more than 125 guests. Check the events schedule, or you might end up with lots of children or crazy things in your photos. This is a museum, be sure your guests will respect the property.
The venue was all that I dreamed it would be and more. It was beautiful from start to finish and we got many compliments on our wedding.;make sure you know what other events are going on before during and after your wedding. and make sure you understand what will be on the grounds at that time.
