Standards and Substandards

Standards and Substandards is a fun, dynamic, and inventive band based in Ogden, UT, available for weddings, events, and parties. The group is fronted by a charismatic female vocalist and backed by creative and adaptive piano/keyboard, bass, and drums. The band has roots in classic jazz standards but quickly branches out into an extensive and eclectic catalog of re-inventions from a broad range of popular music, from Top-40 pop to blues to ballads and anything in between. Besides weddings and events, Standards and Substandards performs regularly at Union Station's Jazz at the Station, Ogden’s Lighthouse Lounge, and many other venues ranging from corners in a coffee shop to open outdoor settings. The band provides a diverse song catalog and customized sets. We'll play familiar tunes to energize a dancefloor or settle into the background of your reception. We enjoy music in the moment and for the setting, playing off one another and featuring dynamic vocal stylings. At the same time, the group doesn’t take ourselves too seriously and enjoys the music, the audience, and one another in any setting. Standards and Substandards enjoys working with clients to provide a specially catered playlist from our catalog, and we can make arrangements to add new songs to our catalog for special requests. The band is fully equipped for sound (available for clients' use as well) and is willing to travel as negotiated.
