Hektor Qyteti’s “Star String Quartet” performed at our outdoor garden wedding last fall at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills, Michigan. They were absolutely incredible and we are so happy with our decision to hire them! Prior to the wedding, Hektor was extremely responsive, kind, upbeat, and helpful, which was wonderful given that we were planning our entire wedding in only 3 months. He was one of the best vendors we worked with, and he made us feel at ease and confident in our choice to hire his group. He thoroughly explained all of our options regarding song selections and helped make the decision-making process easy. On the day of the wedding, the group arrived on time and set up their chairs and instruments on the side of the garden area so quietly and discreetly that we hadn’t even noticed them! Once they started playing, the atmosphere became elegant and felt almost magical! The quartet’s musical performance was outstanding. We requested a few selections for certain parts of the ceremony but for the most part asked them to perform a variety of pieces, and their musical selections were beautiful and perfect for our wedding day! The quartet additionally performed after the ceremony during the cocktail hour and many guests raved about how delightful their music was; some of our guests even said that the quartet was their favorite part of our entire wedding day! As the bride and groom, however, we were so busy taking photos during the cocktail hour that we didn’t get a chance to just sit down and listen to the quartet, and we really wished we could have! Thankfully their music is captured in our wedding video so we can re-live their performance for many years to come. We highly recommend Hektor Qyteti and his Star String Quartet to anyone and we hope to someday have another special event so we can hire them again!

The Star String Quartet was responsive, communicated well, and played beautifully at our wedding ceremony. Even when we unexpectedly did not have power at our church, the quartet adapted and their music projected perfectly. I would highly recommend them to add to your ceremony!

They had a long list of songs available to choose from and sounded even better in person when the day finally arrived. Hektor was super easy to work with and always responsive. Hektor and his musicians were amazing!! They were all so professional and well polished. I have worked with Hektor as a church musician myself and was able to witness his and his musicians’ talents but never was the bride hiring him until my own wedding!! It was even more fabulous being the bride and having his quartet play than working side by side with him because it gave me a different view. My brother wrote my processional and recessional piece for the ceremony and Hektor didn’t hesitate to work with us to learn those original pieces to make it that much more special for us. I recommend this group of musicians to anyone looking for strings for their wedding ceremony or reception. You won’t be disappointed!

We received so many raving reviews from our guests regarding the string duo (violinist and cello) during our ceremony and cocktail hour. Hektor goes above and beyond and is very responsive. He made sure that the songs we specifically requested were played and will even play a specific version of a song (if requested and possible). Their prices are very affordable as well. Having the duo during our ceremony and cocktail hour made our wedding that much more special! All of the guests really enjoyed the beautiful music and are still mentioning it to this day. We had a trio play at our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Many friends and family said that the live music was so fitting for the romantic little white chapel where our ceremony was held. Since it was live, they were able to adjust the music to suit our wedding party as they walked down the aisle and allow for my grand entrance to be accompanied by the music. In addition, we had two readers in our ceremony who mentioned that the elegant and graceful music helped calm their nerves. Such a great addition to our ceremony! Hektor of Star Strings was very flexible in working with us for our postponement. The quartet itself is top notch! As a classical music fan, I was very very impressed by their performance. They showed up on time and had a varied range in their repertoire beyond the typical Pachebel’s Canon D. LOVED having the Star String Quartet play for my wedding! They were complete professionals and their instrumental music was *beautiful*. They played Pachabel's Canon for the procession, Joyful Joyful for the recession, and "Can't Help Falling in Love" when I walked down the aisle - I wish I could attach a clip to better capture how perfect it all was. They were also incredibly easy to work with (which is really worth its weight in gold when planning a wedding:). 10/10 would recommend them to anyone!

As a professional church organist myself, I have collaborated with Hektor in the past and have always enjoyed listening to his ensemble perform. So, as mother of the bride, when it came time to book musicians for my daughter’s wedding, the Star String Quartet was my #1 choice. Not only do they have a huge selection of classical pieces in their repertoire, they have a wide range of contemporary songs to offer as well. In addition, they will honor requests and learn special songs for your event if music is available. We had Many professional musician guests at this wedding as the bride herself is also a professional musician. Everyone was enchanted with the music provided by Star String Quartet.

If you’re even considering having a quartet for your wedding, DO IT! The Star String Quartet played for our ceremony and truly turned it into one of the most magical experiences of the night. We hired the Star String Quartet to play for two hours throughout our ceremony through cocktail hour and I would give their performance a 5-star; the music sounded fantastic. I would make no changes to the ceremony portion but we felt they took an excessive time in between songs during cocktail hour leaving long gaps of silence while guests tried to mingling. This may be the nature of having a string musicians play instead of a DJ during cocktail hour but if you hire them for this portion, I would stress that you want to maximize the amount of music being played so it maintains the ambiance for guests and you get the most bang for your buck. Overall, I would hire them again and recommend them!

I booked this quartet for my wedding, which I planned very quickly (under 5 weeks). In a short span of time, they learned a completely new song that didn't even have string music for it and certainly doesn't fall into the wedding genre. I made a risky decision to walk into my husband's favorite band, The Used (Smother Me), as a surprise to him, and somehow this quartet made this scream-o band sound so refined and elegant! And they coordinated playing this with a pianist, Ave Maria with a duet... all in more like 2 weeks because it took time to get the sheet music. Hektor was great, extremely responsive and professional, and after quoting out many quartets, their prices are by far the best in the area without sacrificing one bit of quality! My friend booked them the next week for a proposal and was very happy!

Our string quartet did such a wonderful job, the live music added so much to our ceremony. So many of guests commentated on how beautiful the music was. They worked with us on our song list, and had so many songs to choose from. They are also able to arrange custom songs, we didn't end up having to do that but it's great to have the option.
