If you want a one stop shop for different musicians/bands throughout an event and you want mostly Latin music played, then this may be the band for you.
Unfortunately, we had a negative experience, which was exacerbated by the response we received to our feedback. We booked with Henry a year before our wedding (Feb 2013), after getting multiple calls because he had another offer and being told we needed to decide within a day. We didn't talk with Henry or Judi again until November, when we tried to schedule a time to meet (we were from out of town and were coming in for the holidays). We had tried to schedule something on the phone earlier than that, but we were told they were too busy with Fiesta and other bookings.
Our meeting with Judi regarding our plans went ok, although she was a little scattered due to not having her glasses. We had two main requests that we gave - our first dance song and a couples song. The band didn't know either, but we had been told by Henry (in Feb) that they could learn them. Judi didn't give us that confidence as the band was 'on break'. We also communicated that we had a list of songs that our guests had provided to give the band an idea of the type of music we wanted to hear.
The two weeks leading up to the wedding, we could not get a response from Henry or Judi on whether our first dance song would be performed. Stressful!
At the wedding, we also ran into a few challenges:
- Judi introduced the MOH and Best Man as the Bride and Groom (never correctly identified them, even though the list had been provided a month before)
-The band played at least 25% Latin music in the first two sets (we had asked for 5%). Our wedding planner went up and requested no more Latin music at least 3 times during these sets and they continued to play it.
-The mother/son dance that was discussed in our meeting with Judi (to allow the groom to also dance with his grandmothers) wasn't carried out correctly and he was unable to dance with his grandmothers at that time
-The couples dance was pushed back much later than our original schedule, causing the groom's grandparents to miss it (they were the reason we wanted to do it)
Overall, it was a frustrating experience. There was a lack of response and when we tried to provide feedback, we were blamed. While the band is talented, it did not seem very customized to what we were looking for. I would not recommend them.
They are also friends of ours and they did an amazing job. I didn't have to worry about a think with them...they played the kind of music I asked them to play, they didn't play the songs I asked them to not play, they were energetic, professional and so much fun. Our guests never left the dance floor!
Played all music from Latin songs, Jazz, Oldies, Mowtown,etc...we had a variety of songs. Judi Deleon was lead singer and great voice. We had many instruments including bongos & horns that had great sounds. Mainly kept all of our guests dancing and entertained.
