At Starr's Restaurant in Waterloo, NY, your rehearsal dinner or bridal shower is an experience your closest people will be talking about long after the weekend is over.
Starr's is a chef-owned, farm-to-table fine dining destination in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. We specialize in intimate celebrations where the food is the event: scratch-made, locally sourced, and crafted by a kitchen team that has spent nearly two decades learning this region's farms, seasons, and flavors.
The Space
Your celebration takes place in The Loft — our signature second-floor private event space with approximately 2,000 square feet of warm, elegant atmosphere. Dark blue green walls, hardwood floors, romantic lighting, and long candlelit tables that set exactly the right tone for whatever the occasion calls for. The Loft seats up to 46 guests and is available as a standalone private space, with the option to expand to a full restaurant buyout of up to 100 guests for larger rehearsal dinner parties.
The space is yours... private, unhurried, and entirely focused on your celebration.
The Food
Every evening event at Starr's is built around our curated seasonal packages — The Hearth, The Harvest, and The Reserve — each one reflecting the best of what the Finger Lakes has to offer. All food is made from scratch in our kitchen using locally sourced ingredients. Full beverage packages, cocktail hour stations, and late night snack add-ons are available to complete your evening.
For bridal showers, we also offer a dedicated brunch experience: a daytime celebration built around a seasonal selection of scratch-made dishes, designed for a more relaxed, intimate gathering. Whether you're toasting with mimosas mid-morning or lingering over a long afternoon lunch, The Loft is the perfect backdrop for the bride's last celebration before the big day.

The Team
Chef Starr Andrews spent nearly two decades in the Finger Lakes' most respected kitchens before opening Starr's alongside co-owner Elizabeth Renshaw. Elizabeth's roots in the Finger Lakes wine community run deep. Her family's story is part of Evan Dawson's celebrated book Summer in a Glass. Together they built Starr's because they believed this region deserved a table worth lingering at.

She joined the opening team at Halsey's in Geneva in 2007 and worked her way from the line to Executive Chef over more than a decade at one of the region's most respected fine dining kitchens. Her cooking is rooted in this place and its people. Every dish is ingredient-forward, scratch-made, and built around what's growing locally. She doesn't chase trends. She cooks food that tastes like somewhere specific, made by someone who genuinely cares. In 2024, she opened Starr's Restaurant in Waterloo, NY alongside co-owner Elizabeth Renshaw. The menu is intentionally small, always rotating, and consistently extraordinary. Her mother, Tricia Renshaw, made wine at Fox Run Vineyards for nearly a decade, and Elizabeth's connection to this region and its community runs deep. That family story is even woven into Evan Dawson's celebrated book Summer in a Glass. She brings a background in finance and operations to Starr's, handling everything behind the scenes so that every celebration runs seamlessly from first inquiry to last course. When Chef Starr decided to open a restaurant, Elizabeth knew two things: Starr's cooking deserved to be shared, and she could handle everything else. She still does.
