Anything you need this is your Dj. From cold sparklers to uplighting and all around entertainment. He even was able to provide clip mic’s for officiant and Groom. 10/10 recommendation. A DJ is one of the most important parts of a wedding, they literally set the vibe of the event. To say Jimmy was an amazing DJ would be an understatement, I could not have asked for more! To add to that, he’s a really fun, incredibly nice guy with some hilarious stories and anecdotes. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable when it comes to music – he literally knew every song we suggested and some were pretty obscure – he is knowledgeable when it comes to weddings. It truly was like having a second wedding planner and not just a DJ. He helped me with the entire timing and flow of the day/night which was incredible as I had no idea what I was doing. He also captured some fantastic videos of our procession, first dances and open dancing. I cannot thank him enough for getting footage of my brother doing the Macarena, Jimmy caught all of the important moments of my day. He had my back at every turn and facilitated all of my asks to ensure that my special day was more than special – it was exactly what I dreamed of. Please hire this man, you won’t regret it!

I could not have been happier with the experience that Ashley provided my new husband and our families! It was such an eclectic, amazing selection of music. She nailed the atmosphere that we desired and exceeded expectations! She knew how to slow it down and how to pick the pace back up at the right moments. Jimmy Davenport was outstanding to work with and I cannot recommend him enough. From our first meeting with him, he gave us so much excitement for our big day. So much goes into planning the wedding and it was great to work with Jimmy, as once we got to the reception, we could finally just relax and let Jimmy take the reins. At one point, EVERY SINGLE PERSON was on the dance floor...not one chair occupied in the reception hall. Even after the wedding day, we received many compliments on how great our DJ was and how he played songs to appeal to all ages of our guests. He also truly listened to us and our preferences of music, both leading up to the wedding and any last minute requests we had in the moment, and was able to pull other songs that were hits with our group. This is a great company to work with. Jimmy reached out to me just an hour after I sent an inquiry and I could tell right away that he was an experienced professional that would treat us well. Leading up to the big day he helped us organize the details of our wedding reception and suggested a timeline that would work for us, while still being flexible to accommodate our requests. He and his assistant, Michael, came prepared the day-of and kept everything fun and running smoothly. I got many compliments afterward from our guests!

We initially met with Jimmy and really connected with his personality. He was very knowledgeable and professional and matched us with Matthew Bolt for our DJ. Matthew was awesome!!! It was really important to me that my brother be able to perform the song for our first dance. He made it super easy for that to happen. I also had my dad record a song prior to our event and Matthew was awesome at helping us incorporate that into our day. He was able to translate our personalities into the party and made our reception so special!

Jimmy and Starz Entertainment was everything we could ever ask for in a wedding DJ service. When we first started looking for a DJ we had no idea what we were doing and no preference for any songs. We had two calls set up, one right after the other. Our first call was with Jimmy and after it we debated whether we should even have the second call. We ended up keeping the second appointment with another DJ service and very quickly made the decision to go with Jimmy. Jimmy walked us through what the wedding would look like, he used a website where songs were suggested for every part of the ceremony and reception, and Jimmy had multiple calls with us and was very responsive to all of our questions. Jimmy voiced concerns when he thought some songs weren't quite right for the moment, which we loved. Jimmy helped our wedding to go smoothly and he definitely helped the party to continue. Jimmy was great about changing the songs when people weren't interested or playing songs longer when people were really into them. If we are ever in need of DJ services again, we will definitely be signing with Starz Entertainment. Thank you so much Jimmy & Starz!

Jimmy was awesome from day 1 of contacting him to the last moments of seeing him at the wedding venue. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He kept our wedding vision in mind every step of the way. His co-worker, Michael, was also very kind and professional. Great voices by the way! DJ Caleb was great! He set up 2 stations, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. People loved the music selection as well. He accommodated some last minute changes to the timeline due to people leaving early bc it was cold outside. Couldn’t be happier!

Jimmy was incredible! He helped us set up a day-of timeline and even reached out to our photographer and live musician to follow up on our timeline and day of details for us. We had the BEST experience with Jimmy! We met several times leading up to our wedding, so Jimmy knew exactly what we were looking for and made us feel so comfortable going into the big day. Where to start, Brent went above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for . He kept the party going from the moment he was setting up. From the moment we booked with Starz we sorted out every single detail together and went over our timeline many times , plus Brent also had to work to incorporate our saxaophone player. He was more than accommodating plus all our guests thought they were a packaged set and thought they had been working together for years because they were so in sync the entire time!! Again, if your booking Starz ask for Brent . He will never stop the party , he is amazing amazing MC and a wonderful friend. He cares about your event and will make sure everything is perfect. Jimmy and Brent and the entire team are all Starz.

Brent was a fabulous DJ! From the moment we were put in touch with Starz, we felt heard, valued, and had all of our questions answered. From our first interaction with Starz Entertainment (Jimmy and our DJ, Brent) to the final goodbyes at the end of our wedding, they were straightforward, calm, confident, and completely engaging. Brent set the tone for our wedding and it was epic! Being out of state for our wedding planning, we had several video-chats with Brent to get to know one another, share backstories to song requests—which he remembered the details and made guests feel special, and get help picking songs. Chris was our DJ who definitely kept everyone dancing! He was approachable, smart, and really worked to get us everything we needed on wedding day. They even worked to splice some songs to create a really unique father-daughter dance! However, he played some songs on our “do not play” list because people had requested them, played a very explicit song in front of our conservative family that made them very uncomfortable, and wasn’t as rehearsed on the mic (having conversations with people over the mic, calling my husband and I from the mic instead of sending someone to get us or texting us). Overall our families had a really good time dancing at our reception and we really appreciate Chris working so hard for us!

We were married on 10/24/2020 at Tonto Bar & Grill in Cave Creek. Our Dj, Brent Owens, was a ROCKSTAR. He ensured that everything was perfect and everyone got up and danced their hearts out! Without Brent, the night would have been incomplete. His energy and enthusiasm are fantastic and he helped make sure that everyone had the time of their lives! From the first phone call with Jimmy Davenport to our special day it was magical. Jimmy asked a lot of questions about us and what we were looking for then said I have the perfect DJ for you. Meet Amelia she got in touch and set an appointment to come meet us. When we met we talked about the age range of the guests what kind of music we like she made copious notes. For our first song as a surprise to my husband she sang At Last and was better then Etta James (sorry Etta). The music during cocktails was the perfect pitch and after dinner she got everyone on their feet, even organized a line dance. Everyone there said what a good time they had and it really the result of the perfect guests and the tempo set by Amelia.

We were connected with Starz through our venue, Secret Garden. DJ Matthew served as both the MC and DJ for our wedding and did an phenomenal job! We were impressed by Starz's professionalism, they were easy to work with and delivered the results. Matthew was very helpful in "keeping the trains running on time" -- he politely told everyone where to be and when. Would 100% recommend DJ Matthew and Starz Entertainment.

Wow! What an experience! If you have not had the pleasure of listening to Jimmy D. then you are out of luck! This D.J. is incredible! Not only is he personable, he knows his craft. He is also punctual and very professional. Jimmy goes out of his way to make your event a special one. This is the third time we have used Jimmy D. for our kid's weddings. We can not recommend DJ Bobby Bruno enough! He was amazing! He had everyone out on the dance floor and was very entertaining. We had so many of our guest complement on how good he was. Jimmy and his team lit up our wedding with the music we wanted and the music he played by judging our crowd. Jimmy’s music planning website made loading up and exploring the queue of songs easy. We were able to select the songs we wanted for each dance, walk-in, etc. Starz came with fancy lighting, quality speakers, and the perfect voice for running the show. Jimmy was always on time to our meetings, was easy to stay in contact with, and had some great ideas. Jimmy was ready with wireless mics for the ceremony and didn’t miss a beat at the reception. SO ENTHUSIASTIC - he seemed to be just as excited about playing at our wedding as we were to have him and I know from experience - keeping the fun going during planning is just as important as keeping it going during the actual wedding - and he is a pro at both. A true MASTER of ceremonies - we had no idea how to run a wedding. Jimmy had so many great ideas on how to make things flow perfectly and - when things in the venue changed last minute due to weather - took care of everything without us having to give it a thought. He kept the event flowing perfectly and the dance floor full all night. Last, one of the TOP comments our guests had was how they LOVED the music. DJ Brent was AMAZING. People are still talking about how great of a DJ we had. He got the crowd going and was super easy to work with. He made sure everything ran on time, provided everything we needed, and made sure we were happy at all times. We want to have another event just to be able to hire him again!

Jimmy was all the things a dj should be! He was a hell of a lot of fun, punctual & communicative—we always knew what was next and were prepared for anything. He allowed us to create our own playlists for the half hour of guest arrivals and cocktail hour (80’s themed, thank you), but also provided structure for us to choose specific songs (ie first dance, last song of the night, bridal entry). The event planning website made it SO EASY to plan a long-distance wedding. On the day, he let all the little kinks in the event roll off with grace—he kept things going and everyone had a swell time. Would recommend Jimmy and his company a thousand times over!

Brent Owens was amazing from start to finish and incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. I couldn't imagine our day going as smoothly as it did without his help. AND he kept the party going right up until our exit! I highly recommend him, you won't regret it! Starz also has great online tools that I found helpful in planning our playlist.

Jimmy was incredible. He was to attentive to our style and helped our wedding flow so well. Not only did he sort through all the the playlists I gave him for the different parts of our evening and create a perfect mix of music but he was an amazing MC. All of our guests raved about the well the wedding flowed and how it was so seamless. He is an amazing DJ, he knows his stuff. He created a perfect mashup of music for my dad and I to dance to for our father daughter dance and was so kind and timely if I ever needed it tweaked for our choreography. He is an expert at what he does and we can not recommend him more.

Honestly we can never say enough good things about Brent Owens from Starz Entertainment. We started the process with the owner of Starz Entertainment Jimmy. He walked us through the process of booking with a dj. Set us up on their client portal, and gave me all the information I could have thought to ask for over the phone and with a couple online articles. When we confirmed we wanted to go through Starz Entertainment, Jimmy told me he booked us with his best dj. He was NOT wrong! From the moment we talked with Brent. Even before we met him we felt comfortable with him, and that our wedding would be great with him as our dj. It was only confirmed that not only is Brent an awesome person, but he’s the dj you want, from our first meeting with him. We had to reroute where we were meeting due to a medical issue. Brent offered to call ahead to a hospital if we were going to one! He hadn’t even met us yet and he was willing to help. We had him come to our home and between the fact that he not only checked to make sure everyone was ok, was extremely professional and didn’t miss a beat with his presentation, but he also instantly loved our German Shepherd! As soon as we told Brent he was definitely our dj. He took us through every step of the way for both event sound details, but also day of flow, and timeline. He claims we made his life easy as our dj, because of how organized we were. Had it not been for his guidance, and the information provided by himself and Jimmy’s client portal, every step of the way. We would have never been able to be so organized. The closer we got to the day the more Brent checked in to make sure we were doing ok. If we had a question he answered it immediately. He even drove out to our rehearsal dinner in Scottsdale the night before our wedding to confirm final details! The day of the wedding Brent was amazing. Not only did he help make sure everything flowed perfectly from people to timeline! He is a truly amazing dj. We had people coming up to us in the middle of our reception telling us he was the best dj ever. That our wedding was the funnest wedding they had been to in awhile, if not the best ever. Brent kept the evening flowing seamlessly from moment to moment, the dance floor hopping, and the energy high! The lighting and monogram he set up in our reception space was beautiful! We told Brent our wedding song and when our dance was timed out too. He nailed the timing of both the song and the fog machine! The confetti machine was a surprise he wanted to add to our reception. According to our guest it made our first dance absolutely magical to watch! He gave a wonderful first responders, teachers, medical personnel, and military thank you tribute to both those individuals and their families. As a family made up of those individuals it was extremely appreciated and well received. When it came time to do the cake cutting. Brent masterfully danced in through the crowd to grab myself/the bride and dance on over to the cake table, where the groom was waiting. We had a surprise for the bouquet and garter toss. People were actually telling us how wonderful the room looked with the lights. Our colors were red and blue and our theme was Disney fairytale. Brent turned the reception hall and evening into a modern day ball. That was fit for any Disney couple’s happily ever after! Let’s put it this way Brent was such an awesome person to work with. That he is now a friend and on our social media friends list!

Jimmy was a joy to work with from start to finish. He was incredibly warm throughout and his love for his job was plain as day. It was apparent early on that he has dealt with every concern you could imagine and was eager to contribute creative ideas such as a newlywed game which he ran with the voice of an authentic tv host. The truly standout contribution he made (aside from a wonderful playlist) was an edit he made of The Godfather for my wife's Italian father to create a charming moment between the two of us before the father-daughter dance.... he, of course, loved it. Jimmy Davenport did a fantastic job for our wedding! My guests were blown away at how on point he was! The music was perfect, his announcing was perfect and he kept the night flowing smoothly which is every brides dream! DJ Bobby was a rockstar, so helpful, caring and organized when I would randomly tell him more songs or plans that I wanted. He has a great DJ voice and personality to really give energy and excitement to the crowd! On the day of the wedding we had to quickly switch the grandfather dance before dinner and he made it a smooth transition! He also helped give me guidance with planning the schedule and on the day of to suggest things that I would quickly approve so I wouldn't have to worry about it. The example was for my grandfather dance, I wanted to dance with 3 different grandpa's for only 1 minute each so he suggested to bring all 3 up by him at his booth and would tell the next one when to walk on stage to dance with me. Jimmy was very patient to explain everything and I really appreciated his constant email updates and reminders, so it was one less thing to worry about when wedding planning! Thank you guys!!!

Jimmy D was awesome!! He was extremely communicative and always ready to answer a question/provide a quick response. He new exactly what we needed and his experience/wisdom was invaluable. On our big day, his skills shone and he did a phenomenal job. Everyone loved the songs he played and his general demeanor. He engaged our guests and made them laugh and everyone told us afterwards how much they enjoyed him. Do yourself a favor and book with Jimmy D and Starz Entertainment, you won’t regret it!!

Hiring Jimmy as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. He was so on top of everything and made us feel at ease that the wedding day was going to run smoothly. He was energetic, fun, but not obnoxious (like some other wedding DJs I’ve seen). I don't think I realized how important DJs really are in a wedding until we hired Starz entertainment! Jimmy was absolutely incredible and had our entire ceremony and reception planned out by the end of our first meeting (before we had officially hired him!) A month and a half later people are still telling us how smoothly our wedding went and how much fun they had, and that is all entirely due to Jimmy's expertise.
