Joy did an amazing job with makeup for everyone in our bridal party! I usually don’t wear makeup, and she did a great job creating a natural look that looked amazing the entire night! We also loved the hair stylist she partnered with, Jennifer King, who did a great job with everyone’s hair.

Joy truly lives up to her name! She was so helpful with planning the day, and completed perfect makeup for all 7 women-and did stellar work even though she wasn’t feeling well! She was also super understanding and helpful handling one particular “bridesmaid-zilla” and kept things professional and kind! Her communication and flexibility show that she’s not new to the business! She made me feel like a goddess and I felt completely comfortable giving her creative reign. Her products did well on sensitive skin, and everyone’s skin looked flawless- even the older ladies of our group! Loved her!

Joy was AMAZING! She is such a kind person and has an infectious personality. She kept me so calm and kept checking in with me day of. My mom who never gets her nails, hair or makeup done was so impressed. Everyone loved their makeup. All I can say is thank you Joy and every bride should be lucky to have her.

State of Face provided absolutely beautiful wedding makeup for my wedding party and me. Joy was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure that my makeup was perfect. Joy was beyond wonderful to work with. She had done my makeup for my friends wedding in 2016- and when it was time for our big day I knew exactly who to call. Joy nailed my look and made me feel so beautiful. All of my girls loved their makeup and my mom, a former Estée Lauder employee, was equally as happy. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing our makeup on my wedding day and am still over the moon with Joy’s service.

Joy was incredible to work with! I recommend doing a trial to truly be able to see what you will look like for the day of your wedding. She really listened to me and did a fabulous of making my vision a reality. The best thing about her was her absolute willingness to take my feedback and make sure I was so happy with the outcome. Joy is a true artist, her work ethic and talents are otherworldly. I was immediately impressed that her portfolio includes a wide variety of skin textures and colors which comforted me in knowing myself and my girls would be in great hands. She knows make up better than any artist I've ever worked with previously and she takes great pride in her work while being so open to feedback. Her communication is top notch and she's truly such a fun person to be around. Her work is nothing short of incredible and all my girls looked stunning! You'd miss out on the easiest and best experience if you looked anywhere else!

Working with Joy is a blast! She is so incredibly talented and does fabulous natural makeup! I had the pleasure of working with her when I had my senior pictures done, so of course, I had to reach out and see if she was available to do my wedding makeup. I was thrilled when she was. I don't wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis and I wanted to be natural looking on my wedding day as well, Joy specializes in natural-looking makeup and it was PERFECT! I felt beautiful and like a bride, but I also felt like myself. Joy is so fun to talk to and truly cares for everyone she works with. I cannot recommend her more!

Joy and team were excellent to work with for my wedding day! Joy was sweet and professional from the trial through the wedding and even after to follow-up. They completed 11 (!!) faces beautifully and were so flexible adding two to the number that was originally planned. Joy was really sweet when a few girls were nervous about professional makeup being done and she was excellent in allowing for the girls to ask for minor tweaks (we sure can be picky about our faces!). To have her there listening without judgement was really a blessing. I highly recommend Joy - you will be so happy with your makeup and your experience working with her!

Joy is an incredible makeup artist! It was so easy for me to choose her as my makeup artist based on her expertise, punctuality and friendliness! I wanted a natural look, to where I looked like me but just a little more, and she nailed it! I don't wear a lot of makeup on an everyday basis so it was extremely important to me to still feel like myself with my wedding makeup. If you want to feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day, you need Joy!

Joy was so wonderful to work with for my wedding!! She traveled to the hotel were we were getting ready to do my makeup as well as my matron of honor and mothers. I had done a trial with her prior and she came prepared the day of with the notes we had made after the trial. I wanted a rather natural look as I do not wear a lot of makeup and Joy did an incredible job! All of our makeup came out beautiful and lasted through the day without any issues (my trial makeup even lasted through a sweaty workout and yard work in July)! I would recommend Joy to absolutely everyone!

I was absolutely in love with how my makeup looked for my wedding! I typically don’t wear makeup so I was very nervous to have it professionally done for fear that I wouldn’t look like myself. Joy made me look and feel like a princess!!! I received compliments all night about how amazing my makeup looked. Joy listened to my wishes and worries and I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. She played up my natural features and I even stepped out of my comfort zone with a dramatic false lash to spice up my natural glam look! Not to mention how beautiful my bridesmaids, mom, and MIL looked as well! Plus, her outgoing personality kept the morning fun and relaxed.

Make up was absolutely perfect for myself and my bridesmaids. May sound cheesy but after getting makeup done, my mom whispered in my ear, “Joy is truly a joy.” I highly recommend doing the trial. Honestly, I was 100% pleased with my trial and yet, on the day of my wedding, Joy said, there’s a couple things I can do even better after looking at pics of your trial (she did her homework and went above and beyond)...and she sure did!! Joy was reliable, professional, and most importantly, excellent at what she does...highly recommend!

Joy coordinated with my hair stylist so we could use her space to prepare for my wedding. Unfortunately due to covid Joy was not able to do my make up last minute but went above and beyond to find another artist who was wonderful and still allowed us to use her space. She communicated my options very well and was very nice! Five star service!

I found Joy through a recommendation from my videographer, and the communication was great right from the start. Finding an easy going/natural look creating makeup artist was something I was worried about since I’m not a big makeup wearer myself, and only wanted to look simple and natural for my wedding day. The make up trial was so fun to go through, and when I later wanted to change up my eye look she generously offered a second trial to try it out! She and her assistant were so professional and took every safety precaution during the whole process. My bridal party and I felt absolutely beautiful and stayed beautiful the whole night! Big plus! I am truly thankful for Joy for her kindness and patience, creating exactly what I pictured for my big day.

Joy is absolutely phenomenal and such a delight to work with!! I Initially met Joy when I was searching for a makeup artist for my best friends wedding last year. Not only did she make my bestie look flawless on her big day, she made me look downright delectable lol. I received SO many compliments that day! I hit it off with her right away! She is very personable, professional, knowledgeable and puts you right at ease! If you’re lucky enough, she may even serenade you during the process. I have stayed in direct contact with Joy since then. She is my go to for any occasion and she even helps me keep my brows on point! I recommend her to anyone and everyone, simply because she is the best!!

Joy was a wonderful artist who took the time to find my individuality in my look. Right away she knew bright colors with a winged liner for the eye and made my bridal look feel so much more true to myself, but still perfectly appropriate for the occasion. I felt gorgeous all day. She even gave us some custom made lip color for touch ups throughout the day. Would absolutely recommend for your next event!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Joy and her team. Not only is she super talented, she is so personable and was a blast to work with! She made me feel my absolute best on my wedding day. I felt my most beautiful, and my bridesmaids loved their makeup as well. One of my bridesmaids skin wasn’t taking to the airbrush foundation that Joy typically uses, and Joy went out of her way to redo her makeup and make sure it looked great and looked perfect. Everyone’s makeup lasted all night and looked great all evening. I would recommend everyone to Joy!

Joy is a true gem and the sweetest to work with. She did my makeup, my mom’s makeup, and my bridesmaid’s makeup for our rescheduled COVID wedding. Amazing amazing amazing!! Joy was the absolute best!! She was able to swing a last minute change and every single person in our party looked absolutely beautiful!! I don’t wear a lot of make up normally so Joy was able to make me look natural and comfortable and looking my best for my groom. He couldn’t get over how good my eyes looked!! Joy’s work is amazing and she is the absolute sweetest person ever!! Use her for your big day and you will be in the best of hands!!

Joy was truly fantastic to work with. She did a great job understanding what kind of look I was interested in and translating that into something beautiful. She does airbrush make up as well, which I really loved. The look was perfect and lasted all day. Everyone in my wedding party loved their make up and had a great experience. She also gave everyone extra samples of their lipstick to reapply throughout the day as needed. Plus Joy is just a lot of fun--we definitely had a great time singing to some Lizzo and Brittney Spears!

Joy is truly amazing!! From the first time I met her for my trial, through wedding day morning - she made me happy and comfortable. Her work made myself, my mom and all of the bridesmaids look like models. We still receive compliments regularly about how good everyone looked! She traveled to my [parents house and was never once inconvenienced (even when she had to show up at 7 AM!). She made everyone feel comfortable (even though many of us had never had our makeup professionally done before). She did such a great job that we reached out only a couple weeks after to see if she could do our makeup again, for my sister's wedding! I highly recommend any Columbus bride working with Joy. :)

Joy and Kenzie were extremely accommodating and did such an amazing job for my husband and I's big day. They were very understanding if I changed the schedule of when the makeup would start and end, or if the number of bridesmaids that would have their makeup done changed. They never made me feel that I was a hassle and were always friendly during conversations via text or email. Kenzie did an awesome job with putting makeup on and airbrushing 10 girls (including myself)! I highly recommend using their services! They were more than willing to travel to the venue too which was a huge time saver!

Joy was great to work with from the start. She is able to make any one feel beautiful with a natural looking makeup. She worked during the trial to make sure I was happy with the colors and I had just the right amount of sparkle. Then was even able to tweak on the day of to really make my eyes pop. I got so many compliments on makeup and my bridesmaids and mother of the bride and mother of the groom were all very happy!

Did a wonderful job on make up for myself and bridesmaids! No issues all night with any of the make up and was given a lip touch up kit to use later in the evening! Super nice and friendly. Great price and will travel.

Joy did my makeup for our engagement photos in July where is stormed all day and was 98 degrees in the evening and my makeup was still perfect by the end. Joy is not only an incredible makeup artist, but a genuine person. What I liked most about Joy when I was researching a makeup artist for my wedding was her attention to detail. Makeup is her thing and she is dang good at it! She was so wonderful to work with! She listened to not only how I envisioned myself on my wedding day, but my entire bridal party. I don’t think I would have felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day had Joy not been part of it. She made me feel glamorous while keeping me look like me. I was always worried I would look like a completely different person on my wedding day since I wear basic makeup for everyday wear. Her work is stunning! If I am every back in the Columbus area and need my makeup done, Joy will be my first phone call!

Working with Joy Macke was a dream. From initial contact to talk through all of my scheduling needs, contract submission and approval, consultation and the actual wedding day - I loved working with her. As a makeup artist, Joy not only offers her strong experience and knowledge when creating a makeup look for brides and bridal parties - she also is incredibly open and receptive to feedback and changes. She creates a really comfortable and safe space for people to share what changes they want in their look, and takes feedback so well. I only had minor adjustments to make in my look after my consultation, and she executed those changes perfectly on my wedding day. She managed to do makeup for 9 people, including a bride, moms, grandparents, a pre-teen and bridesmaids with diverse style and looks, and everyone looked and felt flawless. Joy also made it super easy by coming to our hotel to do our makeup, even on the day of a blizzard for our January wedding. Her makeup looks were not only flawless, but photographed well, and stayed in tact for the whole evening of the wedding. I would love to work with her again in the future!

Joy was incredible to work with from start to finish! Joy did my wedding day makeup as well as my makeup for our engagement photos. She did an INCREDIBLE job with both! It held all day, photographed amazing, and looked more natural (as requested) while still feeling beautiful. The bridesmaids, MOB, and MOG all had their makeup done by Joy and her team. Everyone looked and felt absolutely beautiful. They listened to each person to make them feel comfortable and their best. I have to point out a specific incident Joy went above and beyond. I had gotten a blowout before getting my makeup done for our engagement pictures. My hair had lost almost all of its curl by the time my makeup was done. Joy offered to fix my hair for me - her own suggestion - and was an absolute lifesaver. Highly, highly recommend!!

Joy is amazing...do yourself a favor and book her right now! At our trial, she brought my makeup vision to life and it is the best I have ever looked. The day of the wedding was no different! She did an amazing job! All of my bridesmaids loved her as well. I’ve been in a lot of weddings plus had my makeup done for events and never really loved it or had small things I did not like. I loved every single part of my makeup when Joy did it! Plus, she loves dogs and was so sweet to my hyper Golden Retriever who got ready with us, and sat by her side all morning! She is so sweet and chill, so she’s great to have there on your big day while you’re getting ready! My maid of honor recently got engaged and booked Joy as well!

Working with Joy was a dream! She is not only incredibly talented, but so sweet and wonderful to work with. I couldn't have chosen a better makeup artist! Joy accommodated my small group, was easy to work with and did a superb job on everyone! Joy is awesome! She made me look just how I had hoped I would look on my wedding day and even better! My makeup lasted all day through sweating during hot outdoor photos and sweating on the bus because the A/C did not work :( and getting hot from boogie down on the dance floor.
