Stax O Wax did an amazing job at our wedding and we were so glad we went with them for our DJ! They were very quick to respond to questions during the planning process and we liked the online portal they use to keep track of your music requests for things like introductions, cake cutting, etc. Shawn was awesome to work with at our reception. He would check in with us from time to time and always checked if someone wanted him to make an announcement that we hadn't planned on. We didn't have too many special music requests so most of the music choices were his, and he did a great job. People were out dancing until the end of the night and I've received so many compliments from our guests about them. I would absolutely recommend Stax O Wax!

Our wedding was on July 26, 2014. Stax O Wax helped to make our day truly amazing! They played exactly what we asked for and more! As soon as the dance floor opened, it was flooded with people. Many people even stayed until the last song. We received many compliments on the music and how much fun guests had at our wedding. I loved how John even got out on the dance floor with us to demonstrate a few group dances for those who didn't know the steps; it definitely bumped up our guests' participation! The service was impeccable and John and Shawn were always checking in to see if we needed anything or to let us know when our special requests were going to be played so we wouldn't miss them. Their set-up looked great and they matched their main lights to one of our wedding colors. The volume of all the music was perfect, even during our outside ceremony, and especially during our cocktail hour when guests were able to enjoy the music but still converse with each other. I would definitely recommend Stax O Wax!!!

Everyone had a great time and dj did end up playing what we wanted. The dj that played our event told me all of the music that my husband and I requested was not danceable music and he probably wouldn't play it. The dj was also rude to my guests and wedding party. Overall things went fine, but attitude all the way! Wasn't worth the money!

Kurt was an amazing DJ, very professional. They kept the party going through out the whole time. Keep making sure everything was alright and if we need anything. I would highly recommend the, if you want a wedding to remember!!!!

After meeting Curt & Shawn a few times at other friends wedding my husband and I knew the second we got engaged that we wanted Stax O Wax to be the DJ for our reception. We were instantly pleased with how willing they were to help us get details set, offered great package discounts via e-mail blasts and on their facebook page and were ALWAYS just an e-mail or phone call away. We had our wedding this past Saturday and Curt & his team brought the party. We upgraded and had them set up the lighted façade on the dance floor, so happy we did- it really pulled the room together and made the dance floor a nice focal point. Thanks Stax O Wax for keeping the dance floor full and our guests moving and shaking all night. It was a blast!

Shawn and Curt are awesome! They did everything to make my wedding reception perfect and keep people on the dance floor all night! Their website made it super easy to plan everything and make all of our requests. They even called the week before the reception to make sure I would get everything I wanted out of my night. They went ABOVE & BEYOND for us! My husband contacted them separately to request a special song he planned a dance for to surprise me with. They even found songs from my husband's friend's band to play for us even though they were not iTunes. Stax o Wax was absolutely clutch in making sure everything happened on time and in order. You don't even need a wedding planner if you hire these guys! Which YOU should do, immediately! Prices are very fair when compared to similar vendors & they can (& will) do it ALL. Stax O Wax was the DJ company for my now sister-in-law's wedding last December. Shawn did such a good job of getting everyone on the dance floor and "reading the crowd", that my husband and I guaranteed him for our own wedding. A few days before the wedding, he spent a good amount of time going over our song requests with me and asking questions. At the wedding, we received numerous comments from our guests saying how good the DJ was. The dance floor was packed the whole night. We are very happy we chose Stax O Wax for our DJ.

We were lucky to have both Managers DJ our wedding and to provide the uplighting. And, the reason we used them for our wedding was because we we experienced their awesomeness first hand at my cousins wedding the year before. They were quick to respond to any email or question I had during the planning period and they gave very detailed answers. They have an easy to use web-site planning form to help you plan and organize the wedding,....loved that!!! The week before the wedding, they finalized all the plans with us to make sure everything would go smoothly and perfectly. They even helped us map out a reception time line. During the reception, they checked with us periodically to see how things were going and if there was anything they could do. They even took pictures which was fun to see a few days after the wedding. Overall, they were fantastic and I cannot be happier with the reception music and lighting!!!

We found Shawn and Curt online and the other online reviews bear out the experience perfectly. These guys were amazingly flexible, professional and prepared. Despite the challenges with a crazy venue manager, Shawn kept a cool head and made sure we had a wonderful wedding. I would definitely recommend them for value, quality and professionalism.

Wow! My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with Stax O Wax DJ's! Our dance floor was packed all night due to the great music that was being played! Sean and John did a wonderful job communicating with us throughout the entire night and making sure that we were having the most magical night possible! Shawn was our DJ, and we really enjoyed working with him. He played a nice variety of songs that all of our guests enjoyed. The dance floor was packed all night with people from age 6 to 60. Shawn honored our “please play” list and our “do not play” list (even when guests requested some of the “do not play” songs at the reception). In addition, we had some unique requests from guests during the event. Shawn did a great job of checking in with us and also providing us with some guidance for responding to those requests based on his experience. I would definitely recommend Shawn and Stax O Wax to future brides!

I was excited to learn that Curt Zimmerman would be the DJ for our wedding because he has been in the industry for many years and with that should come experience. Stax O Wax DJ Productions requires a profile and event planner be filled out prior to the wedding and then the DJ for your wedding will contact you a few days before the wedding to go over everything. My parents are divorced and I had clear instructions on the event planner and per my conversation with Curt days prior to announce my father as, Father of the Bride accompanied by his wife. Curt announced them as Parents of the Bride. Curt then announced the Maid of Honor as the Matron of Honor, he played our first dance song for our cake cutting song and when one of the bridesmaids informed him he then came up to my husband & I and said you are right that is the first dance song. I should have said I know, it is listed on the event planner you had me fill out and we spoke about it days ago. He then started to play two slow songs back to back and once he did it the first time we asked him not to do it again as people were clearing the floor when the 2nd song came on, they didn’t want to stay for a 2nd slow song…but he did it again and my husband (not happy) asked him to stop the song and to spread them out. I guess years in the business does not mean you have experience.

I loved them! They where so easy to work with! Greatly priced!! Not to mention so very helpful with everything!!! Their online planner made choosing music so easy!! Everyone loved our DJ!

I received so many compliments on our wedding reception and the number one reason was out fabulous DJ Kurt from Stax O Wax. I cannot thank them enough for keeping that dance floor full and catering to the many generations we had and music tastes of everyone. They offer many extras and treat you as their friend, not a customer. They were easy to work with and made planning your reception a breeze with their online tools. Anything you wanted they made happen!

I agree that your DJ can either make or break your reception. All of our guests had a blast and Stax O Wax have a history of providing the very best in music for over 20 yrs.

Stax o Wax did a great job and was reasonably priced. They have a very detailed website to use and request songs until about a week before the wedding and then the DJ calls to go over all of your requests/details. LOVED Sean, would use them again if we are ever in need of a DJ...THANK YOU!

Very friendly and easy to get along with company. They had a very detailed form for us to fill in which ensured that everything ran smoothly. We had a few last minute changes on the day of the wedding and they executed them flawlessly. My husband likes slightly less popular music that he wanted to play during cocktail hour/dinner. Stax said they had 70,000+ songs so they should have everything. They only had 3-5 of the songs he picked. We ended up burning them a CD to use, which worked fine, but made us feel like we were doing their job.

Outstanding service by Stax O Wax. They have the experience and expertise to keep your dance floor full. Excellent variety of music, just as we asked for, and got in our special requests. Very, very pleased, and a great value as well, especially compared to some of their competitors!

Honest review... these guys are amazing, hilarious, professional, and totally made my wedding unforgettable not only for me but for every one of my guests. All of the little details make for great pictures but having these guys at your wedding will make memories that EVERYONE will remember and won't stop talking about.

Stax o Wax was a breeze to work with. No matter how you contact them they are every easy to get in touch with. There were a couple of times when the sound system acted up but they fixed it quickly and were very professional.

A friend of mine had Kurt from Stax O Wax as the DJ at her wedding and I had a great time at her wedding - so much so that when I got engaged a year later, I knew I wanted to find out who her DJ was so we could use him at our wedding. I am so glad we did! We have heard from countless guests what a great time they had and how amazed they were at how personalized the party was. Every so often Kurt stopped and asked us how it was going. By looking at the dance floor and how full it was - with people of all ages, the answer was clear. The DJ and music he was playing to keep the party going was perfect. Our only issues we encountered were ... The morning of when I tried to contact Kurt about my concern for music during cocktail hour which was outside. His response was less than reassuring and I felt like he could have been more flexible and willing to work with me. Then, again, during the reception, my mom felt like she was being talked down to a little by the DJ. However, all is well that ends well - or at least when you have 160 people raving about what a great time they had on the dance floor. Overall, I give Stax o Wax 4.8 stars! =)

Stax o Wax was recommended to us by my hairstylist, so we decided to go with them based on the recommendation. They were always very professional but down to earth at the same time when talking with them on the phone. The same was true at our wedding. They made sure everything was ok every hour or so. The dance floor was crazy all night! Everyone had a blast dancing and many people told us how much they liked our d.j. My brother-in-law is getting married and they are checking into working with this company as well! They were definitely one of the best vendors of our wedding!

Now that my wedding and honeymoon are over, and things have calmed down a bit, I can write a review about my dj. I hired Stax O Wax after seeing them not only at my sisters wedding, but 3 other weddings also. They really do a great job of getting people on the dance floor. I danced all night (of course), but the surprise was seeing my husband that doesn't dance at all out there with me. As I was in shock, I asked him what he was doing out on the floor, and his response was, "the dj is playing some awesome tunes". That one memory will stay with me for the rest of my life. If Stax O Wax can get my husband to dance, they can get anyone to dance. I can't thank them enough for the fun music and exciting reception that they provided for me. I have already handed out a bunch of their cards to co-workers and guests at my wedding. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a dj. They were at my sisters wedding and I was the maid of honor. They were awesome! That's why I hired them for my wedding.

We loved that we could do the timeline of the evening online. They didn't make us do anything we didn't want to.;Some of the music we wanted they didn't have so we had to provide it for them.

They always made sure they were doing what we wanted. Every half hour or so during the reception they would check with one of us to make sure they were playing the right music, or if there was anything in particular we wanted them to play. They were very easy to work with.

Everybody loved the music they kept the dance floor full all night!

He stuck to our playlist and didn't play any of the songs on our do not play list. He didn't make any weird comments or try to be the star of the show. He was there to play music and did a great job.

Stax O Wax was so easy to work with. Their website made choosing songs and giving them all of the info they needed so simple. They didn't have our first dance song in their playlist, but all we had to do was right in the name/artist and they had it immediately for us. The dj's that we had were great-they put on a little 'show' during dinner that people could watch if they wanted to (no participation was necessary at all). They also played every song from our request list, as well as some 'classic' wedding songs that most of our guests enjoyed. We had a lot of compliments from our guests about how great the dj's were.
