Steele Photography is phenomenal! Chris was so efficient, easy going and incredible to work with. He was super considerate, mindful and kept everything on schedule with ease. Plus I am pretty awkward in photos and he really made it all feel natural and was so encouraging. 10/10 recommend!!!

After touring multiple venues and noticing Steele Photography on almost all of the preferred vendor lists, we decided to reach out. From our first conversation with Chris, we knew he was the one! Not only did he provide valuable information regarding venues, but he was extremely helpful when it came to booking other vendors, solidifying our timeline, and instilling comfort and confidence in our plan on how we wanted our day to go. We felt very fortunate to have Chris on our side. His experience really makes him an asset to have on your wedding team as the knowledge he’s accumulated over the years has allowed him to have a really good understanding of timing, and lighting at a variety of different venues as he’s been all over the PNW. For example, he knew a year in advance what the weather would most likely be on our day, and what time to start our ceremony to get the most out of our venue. He genuinely takes the time to get to know you and your expectations for the day and takes it upon himself to research and prepare to the best of his abilities. We had no doubts or worries on the day of as we knew Chris would advocate for us. On your wedding day, there’s so many things to consider but whether or not we could rely on Chris was never a concern. He is talented and well-known throughout The wedding community, and for good reason! He deserves that outstanding reputation he has. When planning our engagement shoot with Chris, in typical Oregon fashion, we were rained out multiple times. Instead of feeling discouraged, Chris maintained a positive outlook and was so flexible. We were able to get the most magical engagement session in a wonderful location picked out by Chris. He excels at creating an environment where you feel comfortable and confident. He was encouraging, and although pictures can sometimes be intimidating, the whole experience was so enjoyable. Your priorities will be become Chris’s priorities, and he will never hesitate to be honest with you, which will ensure you are able to get the pictures that you want. He’s an outstanding communicator and we couldn’t have imagined our day without him. I will be recommending him to everybody that I know!! if pictures are important to you, I promise you do not have to look any further.

Steele Photography came highly recommended to use for our wedding photography! Chis is AWESOME! We got married at Oregon Golf Club in July 2024, and we are so thankful we had Chris and his team part of our day. Leading up to our wedding we had two meetings with Chris to pre-engage and make sure our wedding went smoothly. From our view the day was perfection. Chris has over a decade of experience, and made us feel very comfortable while taking portraits. The best surprise was within a week he had shared a sneak peak of 10 pictures for us to preview. Chris captured our day perfectly; we are thankful to have our photos to cherish our day forever. In my opinion his photography style is very timeless/classic. If you are looking for a wedding photographer – look no further, Chris is the best in the business!

We were given great advice for wedding planning: pick 2-3 things you really care about, invest in those decisions, and let others help contribute toward the smaller decisions. There are so many decisions you can make in a wedding and it can be very fatiguing at times! Picking a great photographer was one of the things we cared most about. We were recommended Chris Steele by our vendor, and we couldn’t have chosen anyone better for the job! He is the definition of a professional. On top of that, his photos are amazing! We booked an engagement session with him as well—I highly suggest doing this as it gives you an opportunity to get to know your photographer and increases your comfort on the big day. Plus, you only have one time to be engaged and it’s fun to take pictures in your own clothes in addition to your fancy wedding attire. Chris has solid communication skills—we met on the phone with him to solidify our timeline of the day and he was great at coordinating with our venue staff and DJ in such a way that it took the stress off of us and we could be present for our day. We both have very large families and he was able to direct them efficiently so we could get all of the family shots we wanted plus more. He is extremely kind and helpful. Our photos captured our natural selves and have a genuine spirit about them—that largely has to do with how at ease we were with Chris. He’s super fun and made us feel comfortable. Neither of us are naturals at posing, but we felt great with Chris encouraging us, directing us, and overall making us feel comfortable to be ourselves and take in this special day. We will continue to recommend Chris to all of our friends and family; he is the best!

Steele Photography was truly amazing. Chris made the process of working together very easy and it felt like a true collaboration. He was as invested as we were in creating our timeline, ensuring we had time for the photos we wanted, and understanding our wedding photography priorities. He was very patient, and as a couple we are generally very awkward and have a tendency to pull silly faces the minute a camera is in our vicinity. Chris knew exactly how to make us feel like we were just hanging out with a friend!!! And not to mention his beautiful work. I can’t recommend him enough.

Wow, what an amazing photographer! The day was such a whirlwind, but Chris did an incredible job capturing all of the most important moments, helping us stay calm and focused, and sticking to the photo timeline. He made us feel so comfortable even though neither of us are super keen on taking pictures. Such a great hype man! He also arrived early to scope out the location, which was so helpful. Chris was absolutely wonderful to work with! He was professional, kind and provided comedic relief on our stressful/beautiful day. Chris was well prepared as he ensured we had our meetings to go over details; he was always available through email for questions. I heard from numerous family members how great he was! Now the photos… Our photos were returned in a timely manner, on a beautiful and easy to use website. Our photos are gorgeous! Timeless! We could not be happier! Chris took the time to capture real emotions and love. He was even gracious when I asked for particular shots with a variety of people (as we have a large blended family). Chris was worth every penny and more! Highly recommend. We were planning a destination wedding in Oregon so we had an initial zoom meeting with Chris and right from the start it was evident that he was the right person. He was personable and was genuinely interested in us as a couple and what our needs were. We got a package that included an engagement shoot and I’m so glad we did. It was great to be able to meet Chris in person before our wedding to be able to get used to being in front of the camera and become accustom to his shooting style. It also allowed us to get to know him better and when it came time for the wedding, we genuinely enjoyed having him there. A few weeks before the wedding we had a call with him to go over details for the wedding, answer any questions we had, and work out a timeline for the day of our wedding. And then he finalized the day of timeline with our coordinator without us having to do any extra work. The day of the wedding went so perfectly! Since he only uses other professional photographers with their own businesses as second shooters (so you know you’re getting high quality work) we got a second shooter. This allowed more of the day to be photographed and more details to be shot. Chris’s professionalism really shined during the family photos part of the day. He was able to get through them quickly and efficiently. Our engagement and wedding photos are exactly what we had hoped for; light, airy, and beautiful. We’re so grateful to have them as keepsakes from these special days for the rest of our lives.

We got very lucky snagging Chris's last available Saturday in July and we are so happy we did. Chris was very open, honest, and answered most of our questions before we even had a chance to ask them. We ended up hiring an additional photographer as part of our package and he and Zoe did such an amazing job. I've never loved being in front of the camera, but both of them were the perfect combination of warm and professional. When we got our photos back, we could not stop looking through them. They were so beautiful and we can not wait to have these to remember such a special day. We also opted for the album and are so grateful that we did. We can't thank Chris enough for everything he's done to capture such important moments in our lives. From the first day we met Chris, we felt an instant connection with him. He is fun to chat with, so joyful and funny, and matched our vibes of relaxed and cheerful but also very detail oriented. We hired him for our wedding and engagement photos and couldn't be happier. For the engagement photos he has a number of really private and breathtaking spots. Chris is one of the best! He photographed my brother’s wedding four years ago and did a phenomenal job. When my husband and I got engaged, he was the first vendor we called - he is that good! He provided us with a lot of guidance in advance of our day from the timeline, to photo locations, to other vendor recommendations. He was super responsive to all of our inquiries and day of he was on time! Our bridal party loved working with him. He was great at making everyone laugh and provided constructive feedback so everyone felt comfortable. We got a few sneak peek photos on the day and can’t wait to see the whole gallery. He truly is amazing at what he does! We highly recommend him for any occasion!

We cannot wait to see our pictures! Chris was such a pleasure to work with, kept our day organized, and somehow managed to be everywhere at once. He was kind, easy to talk to, chose locations that were conducive to good lighting even though the majority of our photos happened in the middle of the day. We were at Abbey Road Farms, a new location for him, and he got there early to scope out photo spots, helped us with a boutonniere mishap right before photos, and rearranged our planned photo order when our hair and makeup timeline was off. We are so grateful we chose him to be there on our day and are excited to show off his work in a few weeks!

I can't say enough great things about Chris and Steele Photography. He was honestly one of the easiest and best choices we made for our Big Day! Starting with our engagement photos, he immediately made us feel at ease and enjoy the moment which in turn made our photos look so natural. On our Wedding Day, I showed up stressed and rushed, and he immediately did what he could to assure me that we will get everything in and that it will all run smoothly. My wife and I loved every minute of working with Chris and adore the amazing photos he took of us! From our first call with him, through our engagement shoot and final wedding planning, and finally on the day of the wedding, Chris consistently showed not only his photography expertise, but was also extremely communicative, organized, and simply a joy to be around. Hiring Chris was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process! What we loved about Chris was how personable and attentive he was. He made us feel comfortable and at ease during our engagement photo session and picked a space that reflected our desire for a "fall, leaf filled" session. The photos were incredibly beautiful, we love them, and our entire family/friends were in love with them. On the wedding day we felt so comfortable with Chris it felt more like he was one of the guests that our vendor. Our guests at the wedding kept telling us how much they loved him! Again our wedding photos were beautiful and our family/friends all love them. Our wedding was in April 2021 and covid was an ever-present threat but Chris was very flexible and willing to work with us if our plans were delayed (thankfully, they were not). There are many choices couples can make for a wedding photographer and the process of selecting one can be overwhelming. If you hire Chris you can feel confident knowing you made a great choice. He has so much experience, so much enthusiasm/dedication to what he does and knows how to make couples feel comfortable and look amazing on their wedding day!

Chris is amazing at what he does! He really goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy with his work. We hired him as a 1 man service, but he did the job of about 3. Not sure how he did it, but he captured every angle of every moment. You can tell he does this with passion, not just because of the paycheck. Highly recommend!

jD and Chris are amazing photographers! They are easy and fun to work with, very professional and know how to make you feel comfortable while taking your photos. It felt like we knew them for years! They know how to get different angles while working simultaneously together all at the same time, giving you more time with your guests! The website that they have for you to access your photos after the wedding is extremely easy to use and they have great instructions that come with them. Their creativity is all in the details. The way they take photos of you, your rings, anything you want - it turns out beautifully. I would definitely recommend them as being your photographer.

I don't even know where to begin. Steele Photography was AMAZING! I had the pleasure of meeting Chris and JD a few years ago at a wedding show that I was modeling in. I loved their personalities and they made everyone feel so comfortable when taking photos. When I got engaged, they were the first people I reached out to. Chris and jD are an absolute DREAM to work with. They are organized, efficient, and are on point the entire day. We didn't do an engagement shoot with them and they still fit seamlessly into our wedding day. We have nothing but amazing things to say about Chris and JD! Between all the vendors and the coordinators we found Steele photography to BE the center focus ( aside from my beautiful bride of course ) of our wedding. They were beyond professional and even fun and entertaining to be around in between shots. They even took the time to offer us water, which was very thoughtful and meant a lot to my wife. I honestly cannot say enough about Chris and jD as our wedding photographers. There are so many aspects that make them people you should know and be friends with, as well as a worthy investment, that makes it hard to narrow down to just a few. In our case, Chris and jD were very receptive and so empathetic to our needing to book photographers last minute due to some unforeseen circumstances in my Dad's health. They immediately felt like friends from our first meeting and it was such a relief in the chaos of throwing a wedding together in less than three months to have such confidence in the team documenting your wedding day. Leading up to the wedding the communication was stellar and very easy to follow so that they could compile a detailed day-of timeline. They were integral to keeping the entire day on schedule with their plan on how to get the shots they needed, while also allowing us to enjoy our wedding guests as much as possible. They were fun, talented, and efficient at snapping the shots they knew would be killer; intuitive and skilled at fading into the background when moments with family members, the bridal party, and each other were happening to allow us to be in the moment. My husband and I have never felt more comfortable being in front of the camera, and we LOVE every single shot they captured. I could seriously gush all day, but really their pictures speak for themselves. Bottom line: if for no other reason, you should get married in the Portland area just for their photography. You won't be sorry.

jD and Chris are seriously the best! I found them on instagram and fell in love with their work. Then we met them in person and liked them even more. They are a great team and do a beautiful job capturing who people really are. They love dogs too, so that's a bonus. Our wedding pictures are absolutely stunning. No joke we love every single one of them. They include engagement photos with all their packages which is AWESOME because not only do you get fabulous pictures from the best day of your life (your wedding), but you get photos of you being "regular people" (engagement shoot) and I promise you'll cherish those pictures too.

We are SO happy to have had jD and Chris as our wedding photographers!! They are INCREDIBLE photographers and amazing down-to-earth people as well which made it so much easier to relax and be ourselves in front of the camera (which was very important to us as we are super awkward and they made us look so good!) Their professionalism and experience was invaluable on our wedding day to help keep things moving smoothly and they are great at directing people to ensure they get every important shot. Also they are great at giving tips and directions (about fixing clothes/hair, posture, etc) to make every shot look perfect. After all the work we put into all the personal elements of our day, the Steele's amazing attention to detail captured it all. Through out the whole day they were right there to photograph every moment, yet were not intrusive at all so in the moment you hardly noticed they were there snapping away! It's true what they say that the day just flies by and you definitely want awesome people like jD and Chris there to capture it all for you!! Choosing the right/best photographer was at the top of my list when we started planning. I was so excited to book the Steele's that we hadn't even finalized the venue/date when I contacted them to reserve a date and I have absolutely no regrets!

We LOVE our photos! We had a wonderful experience working with Steele. They are responsive, super friendly with a positive, upbeat attitude, and very clear with expectation setting. They walked us through the process of our experience and ensured that we understood that before our wedding. They gave us a realistic timeframe for when the photos wold be ready, and they delivered on time. My husband and I can't say enough great things about Steele Photography. Chris and JD took amazing photos of our outdoor vineyard wedding. They have a great eye for framing a shot just right (like pointing out when my hair was slightly askew, or telling my husband to relax his smile) that made our photos look perfect. It was a bright sunny day outside, which can be challenging in pictures, and the lighting in the shots looked wonderful. They were detailed in making sure we got the shots of all our key family members, in a style that felt comfortable to us. Highly recommend them!

Cannot say enough how happy we are/were with jD and Chris! They were our first vendor that we signed with because photography was our most important part of our wedding day. They met us for happy hour to make sure we were a good fit, and we fell instantly in love with their photography style and personalities! We decided to let them pick our destination engagement location and could not have been happier! They spent more time with us than we were originally quoted because they wanted the perfect lighting. Pictures were beautiful! Pre-wedding day they worked with us on our timeline- helped out so much! Day of the wedding, Chris and jD made sure everything was perfect for us as they knew exactly what we wanted! They were even in on our surprise get away! WOW, where to start. During our wedding planning process, we were told multiple times that finding the right photographer is one of the most important things. After going through the whole process and just finishing our wedding I could not agree more. We had such an AMAZING experience with both JD and Chris. Having not only two amazing photographers but a husband and wife team for our big night made such a difference because they worked so well with each other, were able to focus on different things, and catch moments from different perspectives which we loved. We had a pretty wild bridal party and a large extended family and they were awesome while working with everyone and coordinating all the different group shots. They were fun, energetic, and you could tell had a lot of passion for what they were doing. One of my favorite things about the night with them was how active they were in the reception. Not only were they always available if my wife or I wanted to grab a picture with friends or family, but there were times when we would be laughing and enjoying great conversation at a table and I would look up and see either JD or Chris locked in taking photos of those moments. After the event we had so many people call us to tell us how much fun they had, and everyone mentioned JD and Chris and how awesome they were and how they got some great pictures throughout the night. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to work with JD and Chris and I hope this helps you make the same great decision we did. If you are considering wedding photographers or not sure who to go with I would without a doubt say stop looking and book Steele Photography NOW!
