This skilled artist is also happy to document your special day on film if you would rather remember your wedding through a video.
Stefan was born in Münster, Germany, and worked as a journalist for several years. He usually wrote for financial newspapers, websites, and magazines. Tech companies were a common topic. Through his work, he was introduced to the world of photography. It awakened an enthusiasm in him for documenting important stories and moments on film. When he discovered wedding photography, it fanned the flames of his excitement even further. Stefan Ludwig Photography was born out of this eagerness to share the love between each couple. He cherishes the opportunity to be involved in someone’s special day and witness the outpourings of emotion. He has since worked at over 150 weddings across the world, including in Canada, Brazil, and Germany. Location is not an obstacle, as he is happy to travel long distances for weddings.
Couples can choose from a range of packages from Stefan Ludwig Photography. The most minimalistic package offers either photo or video for up to 10 hours of coverage. Stefan’s candid style creates an honest time capsule of your day, catching moments you might not have even noticed. A second package promises a curated highlight video, complete with incredible drone footage. Stefan is accompanied by a second photographer, ensuring consistently high coverage of your day. The most comprehensive package produces photos, a short film, and a feature film that contains the speeches. The shorter film is perfect for sharing with your loved ones on social media. Stefan can tell the story of your relationship through interviews, or heartfelt letters.

My husband and I were a little late in the game when it came to finding a photographer. ...
We wanted someone who could do both photography and videography, and that’s when we found Stefan. From the very beginning, he was so kind and such a joy to work with.
On our very first Zoom call, we already knew he was the one we wanted. At the time, he was in Germany—it was midnight for him, but 6 PM for us here in the States. Anyone willing to stay up that late just to get to know us is clearly dedicated to their clients!
Even though we had already taken our own engagement photos, Stefan offered us a free session with him so we could get comfortable working together before the wedding. I’m so glad he did, because it made our actual wedding day so much easier and more relaxed.
On the big day, Stefan and Colin were not only kind but also super attentive. Colin kept checking that we stayed hydrated (it was such a hot day!), and both of them made sure everything we needed was taken care of. Watching them work together was such a treat—they make a great team.
So if you’re on the fence about booking Stefan for photos or video—just do it! You won’t regret it.

ess. He was amazing to work with; our meetings with him were fun and put us at ease while also being incredibly informative. Even though we were planning our wedding from out of town, we never had a difficult time getting in touch. Day of, he went above and beyond, traveling with us to a few locations for pictures and walking us through a variety of shots. He even stayed a bit late to make sure he captured everything we wanted when the reception was running behind schedule. He had a few preview photos ready to see before the reception even ended and had all the rest available for us to view in an easily accessible online gallery a few weeks later. His giffy booth was also a hit with our guests.
Our photos turned out gorgeous! He has a great eye for the posed shots but was also great at capturing people smiling and having fun naturally, which is exactly what we wanted. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

t get me wrong, he will do all of the posed family/bridal party shots you want, but we loved the idea of being able to look back at our photos and really dive back into the feelings and vibes of the day. We hired Stefan for our engagement photos and wedding day and both days, along with all of the planning and communicating in the background, were seamless, relaxed and fun. Stefan (and his partner Heather, who was wonderful as well) is a pro and knew how to direct us and make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Stefan listened to our wishes and feedback and we absolutely love how our photos came out. We also did a highlight video, which is a 5 minute video and is SO fun to watch. We didn’t want a full length video because we didn’t think we’d watch it, so we were really glad the highlight video was offered. And lastly, we had our dads officiate our ceremony and decided at the last minute to have Stefan do a full length ceremony video, and we’re so glad we did because we didn’t get to fully take in all of the words in that moment and now we can. Highly recommend Stefan!

I thought Stefan’s work was by far the best. He interviewed me prior to the wedding to get and idea of who my husband and I were as a couple, and then touched base with me again to go over last details prior to the wedding day. He was punctual, kept me updated on guests and anything I needed to know before the ceremony began, and was focused on getting the best shots. Post ceremony, he made the process of getting mine and my husband’s couple shots painless, and we were comfortable in his presence. I feel like we received the edited photos in an incredibly timely manner, as well as our highlight video. The photos were absolutely beautiful, far beyond my expectations, and the video is such an important memory to hold onto. He did an amazing job of catching all the important parts of our special day. ve and beyond Stefan and his assistant Libby drove 4 hours and stayed in a hotel overnight to make it to my remote wedding. Once arrived they set about turning a surprise rainy day into a stress free and fun photo shoot. Stefan even took it upon himself to help the venue relocate the ceremony to the most picturesque spot. The pictures came out so beautiful and crisp looking, their dedication to the perfect shot was very clear. We were able to relax and be ourselves and were not harassed to smile and there was the perfect mix of pictures our families wanted and pictures that allowed him to have creative control.

photography packages which makes for a consistent product! We met with a few photographers and chose Stefan after a meeting with him and could not be happier!!
We scheduled our engagement session with him to get a feel for how he works - since we chose the highlight video package we also received an engagement video! Working with Stefan during our engagement session was so much fun! He helped put us at ease which helped us be more natural and not as awkward in front of the camera! We loved how our engagement pictures and video both turned out!
Fast forward a little more than half a year later Stefan covered our two day wedding. I took his advice on the flow of the day - he made it very easy we had a meeting before the wedding. I also chose a couple of my vendors after looking at other weddings he had covered (thanks Stefan!). Our two wedding days could not have been more perfect - again he approaches the day in a way that feels natural and less posed. He tells a story - and after staring at our photos - I can re- live each moment as it happened and feel the emotions all over again!!
Also during the 2nd day, Stefan put photos on an iPad from our ceremony day (the day before our reception) and placed them for our guests to see - it was awesome! Since we had a smaller ceremony guests stated how nice it was to see other photos!
Stefan and his second photographer, Libby, both worked together seamlessly. They were AMAZING! Will and I could not be happier with the end product and would choose him again in a heartbeat!

We first met Stefan when he did our engagement photos. We had no clue on where to even start looking for a photographer, but we found him on Thumbtack, where you can bid on gigs. ...
Of all the photographers, his photos truly stood out. We had a great time shooting our engagement photos, and as soon as we received them, we knew that we would hire him for our wedding. Although he is relatively new to the city, Stefan knows a lot of great spots in and outside of the city to take photos. Our engagement photos were a mix of cityscape and nature. For our wedding photos, we had our first look in the same spot where we shot some of the engagement photos, which was fun, and then walked around the city until we made our way to our venue. We were literally stopping traffic! It was great. Stefan even brought a drone, and got an aerial view of our venue. During the reception and the ceremony, he got a lot of great candid shots that I don't think I could have posed for if I tried. He got our photos back to us very quickly, about 3 weeks. If you are looking for artful photos that stand out and are not cookie cutter, I would recommend Stefan for your engagement and wedding.

tened to our requests when filming. Stefan is excellent at communication, and is always quick to respond to any questions. We got married in Rochester, and they were willing to travel. They also used a drone, which captured some amazing shots. The videos are breathtaking and heartwarming, and they tell a story. I got many compliments from family and friends, saying how unbelievable the video was, and how it made them cry all over again. It did the same for me : ) as if I were reliving my wedding day. , and the videos. He was easy to work with through out the ceremony and for our engagement and wedding shots. He worked through dinner editing photos so he could put a tablet display of photos from the ceremony. Terrific! Would recommend. 10/10

you miss during the day when it gets so hectic. I think that there are many wedding photographers out there who can shoot well, who can learn to use a camera and take certain structured photos, and that's great for some people. I chose Stefan because he is truly an artist in his photography. Instead of capturing those textbook moments, Stefan actually captures REAL moments from the entire day of your wedding. . We are so happy that we went with him! Looking at my photos, I have no idea how he even managed to capture such special moments and expressions on peoples faces. My photos are AMAZING. He shoots with a photojournalistic approach, and when I look back at all of the photos I can feel like I'm back at my wedding again! Only instead of me just focusing on my husband, I get to see everyone else's reactions in the photos and it's just the most amazing thing. He caught all of the little moments that express so much and really captured the feeling of the day. I would recommend him to anyone wanting the best. Stefan also was so comfortable to be around and fit right in with our bridal party :) The pictures are clear and beautiful not to mention delivered a week in a half after the wedding !!!
