Katie came recommended to us by a friend who had booked her for his wedding a year prior. She was fantastic from the get-go, even before we officially signed her on as our florist!...
At our initial meeting, she asked lots of questions, looked at our inspiration photos, and most importantly of all, she listened. I love peonies, which unfortunately are out of season in September when our wedding was, and after meeting with multiple florists who told me that we'd have to change our vision, I was beginning to lose hope. Katie was the only one who listened to what we wanted and came up with a creative solution so that we could get a similar peony-like look with alternative, in-season flowers. She showed photos at our initial meeting and then brought samples at the subsequent meeting, and after seeing her ideas in person, we were sold!
Katie and her team offered a level of service that the other florists I'd looked into couldn't even compare to. Not only did she provide rentals in the form of the circular arch for our ceremony, glassware for the centerpieces, and LED votives for the tables, but she and her team also flipped all of the arrangements used in the ceremony during cocktail hour so that they could be repurposed for the reception. This saved us a lot of money, and also resulted in the reception ballroom looking incredibly lush with florals. Her pricing was also much more competitive than the other florists, even without taking the repurposing into account! As a result, her value simply couldn't be beat.
The day of the wedding, I saw my bouquet and the ceremony arch and they took my breath away. Every piece from the smallest boutonniere to the flower girl wreaths to the cake florals and the centerpieces were absolutely stunning. She and her team nailed it, and if I had to do it all over again, I would sign her on in a heartbeat.
If you are looking for a wedding (or anything!) florist who knocks it out of the park with her designs and creativity, is the best value around, and is overall a fun and spirited person to work with, look no further! Katie is the best there is.
Thank you, Katie, for helping to make our wedding day one to remember!
Katie did an absolutely amazing job bringing our wedding to life through her work. I gave her a few inspiration photos and she went above and beyond with the details. She listene...
d to all of my thoughts and ideas and then made them 10x better. I couldn't recommend her more for any floral work you need done. You would be the absolute best hands. Thank you so much Katie!!!
I had the best experience hiring Katie for our wedding. Based on her Instagram, I knew she would bring color and creativity but she really blew us away with her highly unique desig...
ns, everything from the bouts and corsages to the bridal bouquet, centerpieces, sweetheart table garland, etc. She used many unique flowers that we had never seen and she was extremely creative to bring in colors that are hard to find in nature to match our color schemes and theming. In addition to her stellar arrangements, she was an absolute pleasure to work with in terms of the planning process, from meeting via video and in-person to discuss our vision and to preview her draft designs for us with real flowers. She also requested inspiration photos during this process and was able to use her expert skills to pull together cohesive arrangements based on our (non-expert) requests for color, look, and feel. Delivery to our 2 locations was impeccable and on time. A huge plus was that she listened to what we were looking for regarding our budget and it was easy to communicate with her.
As a bonus, I was surprised to discover that she didn't use foam blocks for the centerpieces as most florists do, meaning that you could change the water on the arrangements that people took home and the centerpieces would stay fresh for a long time after the wedding (Katie has SKILLS!). I would hire her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding or event!

with. We used her for my daughter’s wedding 2weeks ago and my other daughter’s wedding 7 years ago. The quality of flowers is wonderful. She has made both weddings lovely affairs.

thetic and designs are one of a kind and she's a true professional who loves what she does. She used great quality flowers that held up even after a road trip to SF. Katie executed my vision for the wedding perfectly. I would not hesitate to hire her and recommend her to every bride who wants that OMG factor at their wedding. She takes her time to design something perfect and even met with me with a sample centerpiece and bouquet that I used for my engagement shoot. Meet her, hire her and treat her well because she is a floral queen! And she's super sweet, not pretentious and down to earth!

Loved working with Katie and Stems Floral Design!!! Both my sister-in-laws used Stems for their weddings and I absolutely loved her work prior to me meeting Katie. I met Katie and ...
loved her creativity! She has been doing this for years so she has a really good idea of which flowers are in season in which month. First Katie will do an initial meeting with you and then a 2nd one to do a mock up of what your wedding flowers will look like. She had a bunch of questions to ask me to figure out what my style was and what my visions were for the wedding. I told Katie what the color scheme was and told her what flowers I like/don't like, and from there, let her do her thing. The arrangements that she puts together are SO beautiful that my future mother-in-law and I got teary-eyed! The day of the wedding was AMAZING. The wedding arch was so beautiful and really fit the wedding and "us". I was SO happy with everything- the planning process and especially the end result. Thank you Katie!

azing attention-to-detail, she LISTENS thoroughly to what you're looking for, uses visuals to communicate whenever possible, and is extremely reliable and responsive. But most importantly she is highly creative. I knew right away when I met her that I'd love working with her and within minutes I felt like I was brainstorming my wedding day vision with a friend. I work in a visual profession, so I can become a micro-manager when I don’t trust peoples’ talent. But that wasn’t needed with Kate. She was able to express her vision and adapt to ideas and needs perfectly. She helped me to improvise on a few details and customized everything so my ideas and hers became one mutual vision. Our venue was full of antiques and strong visuals, so we needed less flowers then perhaps the standard wedding. Kate never tried to sell us more to push her business. She understood, appreciated and adapted her floral concept to fit the entirety of the event. It was amazing. Everything just came together perfectly. My bouquet, the bouts and the centerpiece and ceremony arrangements were stunning. We got SO MANY compliments from our wedding guests.
I honestly can't recommend Stems by Kate enough. THANK YOU Kate for being such a joy to work with, such a happy smiling face and for making my visions come to life! I’ll always buy my flowers from you.
Katie is the florist behind the beautiful flower creations. The shop is a store front in beautiful Palos Verdes. The shop is not very big but Katie is so patient and she will help ...
you create your vision. My flowers were exactly what I wanted to make my tables come alive. She helped me with my vision. If you want someone down to earth and understands the vision you are trying to create, this is the perfect place!
I found Stems by accident while driving around Rancho Palos Verdes after we found our reception site... and I'm so glad I did!! Kate is wonderful! She is flexible and really listen...
s to what you want. I sent her a few pictures and explained what I liked and didn't like about each. When I went for the preview she pieced together a bouquet and centerpiece right in front of me that was EXACTLY what I wanted. She continually told me that she could adjust pricing by exchanging out various flowers for similar less, expensive varieties and she allowed me to purchase my own vases to keep costs down. We had a sunrise ceremony and Kate brought my bouquet to our hotel at 5am! before going to set up our ceremony and reception sites. She was wonderful and our flowers were beyond gorgeous!
I cannot recommend my florist more highly! She was amazing and did such a great job that all my guests couldn't stop talking about the flowers! She met with me multiple times and w...
e talked about our options. We had a trial run where she ordered all the possible flowers we had discussed and together we made "trial" bouquets for both myself and the bridesmaids. It really helped to actually see the flowers and get a feel for what they would like all together. Her prices are very reasonable as well. She's also very laid back and easy to talk to, which is great, especially if you're not completely sure about what you may want. Her end product was better than anything I could have imagined!
Katie is the owner of Stems By Kate and she is simply just an awesome person with and awesome eye for floral design!
