Don't simply look at those little Instagram squares and say "good to go" - get to know your photographer and their work.  Stephanie checked both of those boxes for us, her work was unreal and she's now one of my favorite humans. We live in Chicago, and had to have her, so we flew her in for both our engagement and wedding photos - and it was one of our BEST wedding decisions we made. We definitely didn't make her job easy, I tend to have jazz hands and over express my face, it rained during our first look, our wedding was possibly the hottest day of the year and we were getting married in a green house, and we had some bumps in the road with vendors and timing. But Steph stepped up beyond her role as a photographer and was a 'jack of all trades'. And through all those obstacles, she still killed it with her work and made the day easier. Every single one of my bridesmaids commented for weeks about how they wanted to be friends with her.  My parents and grandparents were beyond happy. mean, she got our engagement photos back to us THE NIGHT we took them. Hundreds of beautiful photos just hours after she snapped them. And our wedding day?? Incredible. Nothing but perfect. I can't thank her enough for capturing every aspect of our love, family, and celebration so perfectly. During intimate moments you don't even notice her, and during crazy moments she is in the thick of it capturing it for everything it is-and both are so real and captured so beautifully. My absolute favorite photos are the ones she took when I didn't even know she was there-the raw, honest photos, where everyone is being present in the moment. have a certain taste. I came across Stephanie by the fates of the universe- seriously- I reached out to a girl i found on Instagram, who suggested I look at Stephanie, and i never looked any further. She's one of those photographers that will give it ALL, the pretty shots, the fun shots, the sweet shots- i mean there is not a single moment she did not capture. When she sent me the link to my gallery I cried, I laughed, I got chills. This woman is a ROCKSTAR - not only will you get the most amazing, unique, and genuine pictures of your life, but you will get one hell of a human to spend your day with you. I really could go on forever- we found a photographer and friend in this girl, and she nailed it without even breaking a sweat. Also, what I loved most about her was her guidance and honesty at the beginning of the process of finding a photographer, which I advise you to follow to! as familiar with her photography. Immediately I fell in love with her images. I couldn't get enough of the style of her photos that seemed to capture each couple as their true selves so effortlessly. I crossed my fingers and emailed hoping she might be available on our date. She responded quickly to my inquiry and provided me with the information I needed to make my decision, and more! She gave me honest and helpful information for making a decision on choosing A photographer....not HER as our photographer, but educated us to make the best decision to fit our needs. But SHE checked all our boxes! She had great communication with us via email and face time to answer any questions and we decided to book her for our big day and engagement photos! We recently had our engagement photos taken, and let me tell you.... after receiving our sneak peek, I can't remember the last time I drained my phone battery so fast. I COULD NOT stop staring at them. They are absolutely incredible. The photos she took brought me so much joy, that I literally smiled for hours. I'm serious. My cheeks hurt as I went to bed. My future husband, and love of my life, is NOT a fan of PDA or of getting his photo taken. So the idea of taking an hour of snugly, hug-y, kissing photos in front of a stranger was necessarily revving his engine. As we got started, all nestled in each others nooks, Stephanie was snapping photos and he whispered in my ear through nervous laughter "I am so uncomfortable." Obviously we were both nervous, but Stephanie made us truly feel comfortable. She guided us on how to interact with each other without being over-posed, that led to lots of laughs and feelings of being the only two in the park. Our pictures are such a beautiful, genuine reflection of us, you would never know my fiance was uncomfortable in front of a camera. She was able to capture GENUINE laughter, smiles, and sentiment from the both of us that our friends and family cant stop telling us how much they adore the photos. When I asked her if it would be okay to travel an hour from STL to the location where my fiance and I first met, she was on board without hesitation. The support she gave us was amazing! She reminded us during photos that this was about US and allowed us to focus on just that. It helped me forget about worrying about being picture perfect, with my hair and makeup and blah blah, to be really in the moment. And guess what?! Our photos are picture perfect. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. And, let me remind you, this feeling of sheer contentment, joy, and 100% confidence in our choice in photographer is after one engagement session and receiving 9 photos in a sneak peek. SHE IS THAT AMAZING. It brings me so much peace knowing that I don't have to give our wedding day photos a second worry, because our wedding is going to be amazingly captured. Without a doubt. It was the kind of timeless art that I knew I'd be proud to show off — and more than that, her work captured the real, tender moments between couples. After our initial meeting, Steph let us look through multiple albums of wedding and engagement shoots to get a fuller picture of her body of work. We hired her for our engagement shoot and wedding. She was super collaborative, listening to what we were looking for in our pictures and offering her professional opinion on location, lighting, etc. Steph puts in the work, and the pictures speak for themselves. She's super easy to get along with, hustles like mad, and knows how to wrangle your Aunt Karen for family portraits. It's a little concoction I like to call "professional af." , she also was just a lot of fun. We had her traipsing throughout our farm through cow pies and everything and she was super adventurous with it. She made us laugh and we had a great time. My bridesmaids also loved her. She had a great time with the girls as we all got ready, singing and dancing and taking great pictures in the process. She also captured some really sweet moments at the wedding and reception and we've gotten lots of compliments on her and all of our pictures. Loved her!!
