Stephen Mayo is professional, communicates often, and ensured that our day went exactly as planned. From the day we started working with him, he sent emails and had video conferences about the vision we hoped for, colors that we wanted incorporated into our day, and photographs that we wanted. Stephen Mayo answered emails promptly and answered any and all questions my husband and I had leading up to our wedding. Meeting with him a year in advance to have our engagement photos ensured that he was the photographer we wanted to use for our wedding. Down to the minute, Stephen Mayo helped my husband and I set up a timeline that worked for us on our wedding day and helped us stick to it! Stephen Mayo was the best wedding vendor we used, and we could not recommend him enough!

We worked with Stephen for our wedding in November 2023 and he was amazing! He was so easy to work with leading up to our day, really listened to what we were looking for and liking/not liking, and was very communicative throughout the entire process. A few weeks leading up to our big day, we were worried about rain and he worked closely with us to figure out an "alt plan", just incase (thankfully we didn't need to use it). On our wedding day, he rolled with all the punches the day brought and made sure to capture the special moments we were looking for. Even with a few unexpected things, he was able to keep us on our timeline the entire day. We would highly recommend him for your big day! 

We used Stephen as our photographer for our 10/21/23 wedding and we could not be happier!! Stephen is truly amazing at what he does and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Throughout our entire planning process, Stephen would reach out with helpful tips and guides to help us get our timeline down and to make sure we were set up for success. He did an incredible job at our engagement shoot and taught us how to pose and become more comfortable with being in front of the camera. When our wedding day came, I had no doubt that Stephen would make sure to get every shot we requested and within the timeline we made with him. He is extremely detail oriented and organized which makes the whole process run so smoothly. We felt so at ease after our final planning call with him and always knew we could reach out to him and get answers to any of our questions promptly. We can’t wait for our final photos!!

Stephen shot our wedding in September and our engagement photos in June and I could not have been happier with our choice to have him as a part of our special day. The process of choosing all of these vendors was overwhelming and Stephen did a wonderful job keeping me at ease, being a sounding board and reminding us that it's our day! Our family and friends also raved about Stephen's energy and professionalism and the sneak peek of the pictures we've gotten so far. I strongly recommend working with Stephen for a Wedding or any other life moments you may want to capture. He was also very helpful and flexible as my husband and I don't live in New York, so having someone give recommendations and guidance on Long Island was extremely helpful.

We had the pleasure of working with Stephen on our wedding day. Throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding, he was attentive to detail, thorough and responsive. The engagement session made us comfortable with posing and we knew what to expect on our wedding day. The day of the wedding Stephen showed up early to scout the best locations and worked really well with our videographer he just met that day. Stephen was so efficient the day of the wedding we were ahead of our timeline and did not feel like e had to rush in between transitions of the evening. We got take a sneak peek at some of the photos on a device he set up next to the main door that displayed some of the special moments from the day - the guests and us loved that. Working with Stephen was a dream come true! We cannot say enough about his kindness, professionalism, artistry, support and guidance through the entire planning process! We are not very comfortable in front of the camera and he put my groom and I at ease through the engagement shoot and the wedding. He even got my grumpy groom to smile! I am not sure where to begin with this review. From the moment my husband and I connected with Stephen, we knew he was the best photographer for our wedding. Not only did he accommodate our vision but and flawlessly execute, but all the moments leading up to the wedding Stephen made sure we were all on the same page for our big day. One thing I absolutely cannot get over is our engagement shoot. Not only do we have another set of wonderful couple photos but, now I know how to pose for life! Lol, Stephens tips for myself and husband are timeless and definitely came in handy on our wedding day (now in all our photos) We couldn't recommend him enough!!!!!!!

My wedding was a couple of weeks ago and my experience with Stephen was absolutely amazing. From the moment I signed the contract with Stephen Mayo Photography, Stephen acted beyond your typical photographer duties. He gave me ideas via Pinterest for color schemes, flowers, and other details I may have needed for my wedding. Furthermore, his professionalism was unmatched. He created a detailed timeline with me and my now husband, which included names of important people who would be in our photos with us so there wouldn't be mass confusion, as well as had the utmost patience in dealing with our family members who would wander off at the wrong times. Our wedding was on Feb 25, 2023. My husband and I would just like to say that we would recommend Stephen Mayo to anyone who needs professional photos done for ANY occasion. We had the pleasure of working with him over our year process of planning our wedding and it was the best experience ever. We started working together on our engagement photos which can out spectacular. We loved them as well as our family and friends. Stephen Mayo is a very respectful, genuine, hard working individual who was a pleasure to work with. We knew from then that we made the right choice to be working with him for our wedding as well. We would also like to include that he is very easy to get along with and works with you to ensure that you are happy with all the results!!!!

We were so lucky to have Stephen photograph our wedding. My husband and I were not used to being in front of the camera before working with him, but he gave us great posing advice and information that helped us feel completely at ease on the big day. During group photos, he was calm and direct and put everyone in our bridal party and family at ease, even the kids under 5. Stephen really cared about doing right by us as his clients. He was attentive and responsive with us any time we had questions leading up to the wedding. He was also open and flexible if we wanted to try something new. He took the time to understand what we wanted our wedding photos to feel like and then was able to make it a reality. He is a true artist.

After our wedding plans got sidelined by covid we decided we still wanted a wedding photo shoot with our families and Stephen was so willing to work with us to get exactly what we wanted. He was incredibly helpful and easy to work with and went above and beyond in helping us secure a location as well as back up plans when it looked like the weather might not work out. My husband and I don't usually love being in photos, but Stephen made us so comfortable and gave us more than enough direction. We ended up having a great time during the shoot and the photos are absolutely stunning! I couldn't imagine a better experience.

Stephen was a great photographer! He was quick to respond, attentive, detail oriented, and a true professional. Our bridal party loved interacting with him and he delivered quality photos in a fairly quick turnaround time.

Stephen was very transparent and detail oriented about every step of the planning process, from the engagement shoot to the shot-list. The day of our engagement shoot was about 100 degrees and yet we got some absolutely incredible photos; he somehow made us forget how sweaty we were and focus on the moment. Prior to our wedding, Stephen met with us twice to go over must-haves and get a better understanding of our families dynamics. Day-of, Stephen kept us on a smooth timeline so that we were able to get all the photos we wanted (including a photo of me and my pet snake I didn’t realize I wanted until day-of) without feeling rushed. He and his wife were also incredibly kind and patient with my bridesmaids and family members, many of whom felt pretty uncomfortable posing at first. Our photos are absolutely amazing and I am head over heels with them. Stephen was flexible, professional, and I recommend him wholeheartedly!

I stumbled upon Stephen when I was searching to throw together a whole wedding in about two months time. I came across some of his photos and I fell in love with the way he captures such special moments. First, the pricing was a total steal for the amazing work he does. Second, he knew how much time we were lacking to coordinate things and he made it so incredibly seamless. At first, I was not sold on the engagement shoot, but I am beyond happy Stephen convinced us to go for it. My now husband and I are not photo friendly and find ourselves uncomfortable taking photos in general. Stephen made us feel like we were just hanging out and enjoying ourselves. We had chosen one or two spots to meet, and we were completely winging it. He guided us to different areas that he scoped out beforehand. Stephen took all of our thoughts and made it into something so spectacular. He made sure to incorporate everything we mentioned and more. I cannot emphasize enough how much fun we had doing our shoot. Shortly after our engagement shoot, he gave us the most amazing little photo album that I cherish so much, and he provided alll of the photos in literally a week (our wedding was like two or three weeks after our engagement shoot). The wedding was out of this world. Stephen connected with me multiple times before hand and the day of to make sure things went the way I had envisioned. His artistic eye and ability to capture the most beautiful candid moments was EVERYTHING. He was so incredibly kind to my little niece and made her feel like a princess. He let her see all of the pictures as he was taking them and really made her feel special. This was so profound to me. Stephen and his assistant were so loved by our entire family and all of our friends. During the ceremony, I know he was capturing all of the special moments, but it felt like he blended in with everything and everyone. It did not feel like he was in the way of anything and I know many brides worry about that. We took group photos with the bridal party directly after the ceremony and we did so good in time with Stephen’s schedule and guidance. He made sure to take us to all of the spots I had noted as important areas. When we got to our venue, he even brought a drone and got this amazing video of the entire place. This was SO special and such a surprise because the place we had our celebration had sold their facility and this was their last hoorah and party! He even let my niece play with the drone. I got a sneak peak of our photos at the venue as he had them displayed on his laptop, and I cannot wait to receive them in full soon. I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to book Stephen for this unforgettable day. I will recommend Stephen to literally everyone until the end of time. I feel so blessed. 20/10 highly recommend.

Stephen was absolutely incredible! Not only is the quality of his work the best you will ever come across (and I mean that literally), but his professionalism in the way he communicates leading up the event and during the event is also amazing! For my wedding, he made the aspect of pictures as stress-free as possible. I didn’t even have to think about which pictures were going to be taken and how, because I knew Stephen was on it. There is nobody else I would recommend for taking pictures for any event, because with Stephen you get talent, professionalism, kindness, and so much more!

Stephen has been one of the most incredible photographers I have ever hired. From the initial phone consultation, he was courteous, kind, patient, and respectful. My husband and I had the pleasure of having him photograph our rehearsal dinner, and he took the most splendid photos. He is absolutely talented, capturing the essence of the evening and everyone’s personalities beautifully. We were having so much fun with him taking photos on the beach that we did not even want to stop for the actual dinner! I highly recommend Stephen as he is punctual, professional, and an overall incredible human. We will definitely be using his photography skills in the future.

We interviewed a few photographers. But when we sat and met with Stephen, it was different. Rather than trying to wow us with accolades and experiences, or why we should hire them, Stephen asked what we wanted and actually listened. He asked all the right questions and made great suggestions and gave us ideas we didn’t think of on our own. On our special day, he was awesome. He worked so hard to make sure every picture was as perfect as could be. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to capture all of the special moments without being intrusive. Our wedding was only a couple of days ago so we haven’t received all our photos yet, but what we have seen so far, uis fantastic. If you are looking for a photographer with a personal touch and someone who listens to what you want, yet offering their expertise when needed, Stephen is your guy. We couldn’t be happier.

We did our engagement photos with Stephen and we was phenomenal to work with! He was highly collaborative while also willing to offer his ideas/perspectives on shots and locations. He did a great job guiding us in specific poses and positioning us to get the best possible photographs. We would highly recommend working with him.

Stephen and Amanda did an absolutely fantastic job at our wedding! We could not be happier with how they handled our big day and the months leading up to it. My wife and I work extremely demanding jobs that make it difficult to coordinate a lot of things during the week, and Stephen was an immense help in keeping us on task with our check-ins prior to, respectful (and flexible) with our time, and wonderfully detail oriented so that by the time our wedding day came around, all we needed to do was enjoy ourselves! His photography has great depth and character to it, and he has a knack for capturing those intimate moments that every couple never wants to forget, which was really important to us in selecting a photographer. This is not to mention the many breathtaking , quintessential wedding shots that he was able to capture. Everything that’s he’s done for us has exceeded our expectations and been of the highest quality. Beyond the wonderful work that Stephen does, what is not as immediately apparent is how good of a listener he is, and how skilled he is at guiding you through the process of achieving an amazing set of photos to remember your wedding day and all of its special moments. There is a personal touch in everything he does. The wedding package was extremely competitive in terms of pricing and a total steal in our minds. Stephen provided us with a free engagement shoot, which we did in Central Park. He used the shoot to get to know us a little better, teach us some basic poses and angles for amazing photos prior to the actual wedding, and we had an entire additional package of photos to share with our families and friends which we were able to share on our wedding website and social media. As a side note, he even tried some experiments with lighting during our Central Park shoot that came out beautifully, and everyone who has seen the photos was blown away. I would highly, highly recommend that anyone looking for an extremely talented, thoughtful, and detail oriented photographer book him right away!! He’s the absolute the best.

Shooting with Steven was such an amazing experience! Before we even met for our shoot we had a zoom meeting to discuss my fiancée’s and my vision and to make sure we were on the same page. He was very meticulous to make sure he understand exactly what we wanted and had very great suggestions on ideas to elevate our vision.We had expressed initially that we often feel quite awkward in front of a camera but he made me and my fiancée feel comfortable the whole time. He always offered very constructive feedback on how to pose and when we got the shots they there so genuinely intimate and real, not robotic or awkward at all. Not only was Steven extremely professional but we had such a fun time shooting with him. He always had the best ideas for lighting and shadowing to make the perfect shot. There is absolutely nothing I would change about our experience with Steven and we can’t wait for him to capture all the special moments from our big day !

Stephen did an absolute wonderful job on our engagement photos in New York City! Pictures at sunset are often difficult to capture with the lighting and different angles; however, he did fabulous and got some beautiful shots. Personally, I never know how to pose for pictures--Stephen helped with posing and helped us have fun with it. He also has a creative eye and had us stand on a table with the NYC view in the back, which turned out to be the most epic picture! Aside from his skills, Stephen was very personable and friendly, and most importantly, very patient with all of our photo requests! We highly recommend him :)

This was hands down our best experience we've had with a vendor! My husband and I cannot stop raving about how great Stephen was! Not only are his photos absolutely gorgeous, creative, and fun; but Stephen was so organized and helpful during the entire planning process and actual wedding! There were so many times that Stephen went out of his way to make our night the best it could be. At one point he saw my grandma never got her dinner and he went and got someone to bring it to her, he told us when there were good photo opportunities but never kept us away from our guests. If we could've given all our tips to Stephen we would've. We honestly feel like we couldn't pay him enough. Stephen acted as our wedding planner, maître D, and the best photographer ever! My fiancee and I had our engagement shoot in Manhattan several weeks ago with Stephen, and we could NOT have asked for a more amazing experience! Stephen is incredibly talented, extremely easy to work with, really knows his stuff, directs the couple well, and his photos came out more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. He let us pick our own locations, was very flexible and generous with finding times that worked for us, and made us feel so comfortable and listened to during our shoot. At The Edge, he even insisted we stand inside in the warmth while he stood by himself outside in the freezing cold holding our spot in line. We are absolutely in love with our pictures, we even got a metal print from him of our favorite picture and it came out perfect too! We couldn't be more happy with our experience with Stephen, we don't have a single bad thing to say, and **highly highly highly** recommend him for any of your photography needs!

Working with Stephen Mayo as our engagement photographer was hands down one of the most incredible experiences we have had. He was really flexible with locations, times, etc., and gave us great suggestions to create a shoot where we got really incredible and unique pictures. The heat was so brutal the day of our wedding but he toughed it out and delivered so many great shots. We are so glad we hired Stephen for our wedding. He was so easy to work with, very responsive and professional. He did a beautiful job photographing our backyard wedding. The backyard itself was very small and not great lighting, but we are thrilled with how our pictures came out - he was very creative and has an eye for light. We had a tight deadline and he got all the shots we wanted, plus more - from bridal details, our first look, ceremony and portraits. His artistic style was exactly what we were looking for. Stephen went above and beyond for us and was extremely flexible - especially as we were planning our wedding from out of state. We also loved the small touches that came with our contract. Not only are his photos wonderful, but as a professional Stephen is quick to respond, flexible, and communicated with me regularly in the days leading up to my wedding. I know I reviewed before when he did our engagement shoot, but I couldn't help but review again after the amazing wedding photos that he took. When choosing a photographer for our intimate day (20 people), I felt I hit the jackpot with Steve. He mixed traditional wedding photography with his unique style and the results were perfect. Steve did an amazing job with our engagement shoot. We were able to pull together the whole thing within 2 weeks and Steve was able to adjust to our needs and timing accordingly. We agreed to complete the shoot in Brooklyn, overlooking Manhattan and Steve arrived early to scout out all the spots for us, making for seamless transition from location to location. He gave great direction for us and made it a very fun few hours as we shot, despite the wind and cold. Would definitely recommend working with Steve! The photos are stunning!
