HIs unobtrusive documentary shooting style allows you to spend less time posing for photos and more time enjoying your big day as he captures candid moments in addition to any of the more traditional portraits you might want.
With more than 350 weddings shot, Steve is ready and able to handle whatever curveballs your day may throw at him. the wedding and reception in our back yard being we live out in the country around walnut and cherry orchards. We were running a little behind when he got here. People had been showing up so he used the time to take pictures of our guests gathering and socializing before we got things started. which I thought was good instead of the time being wasted waiting for us. He was very professional and a joy to have used him. He also didn't charge for his travel time in which he came from Nevada to Stockton Ca. another good thing Cant wait to see the pictures im interested in seeing our guests being themselves due to the candid shots. sy photographer with a realistic style for our wedding. We are an international couple who met in LA, live in Denmark and were married in Lake Tahoe, where I grew up. As our wedding would be the only time our entire families would ever meet, it promised to be a very special and intimate social event and it was important to us to find a photographer who could capture that without too much posing and interruption of our family's bonding. Steve was incredibly flexible and went with the flow of anything we wanted to do. My guests actually commented on how unobtrusive he was while constantly being in the background capturing moments we would otherwise never have known about between our two families. Steve was incredibly open about any planning we wanted to do, as well as anything we might want to leave to impulsiveness on the day of the wedding. For the packages he offers, his pricing is extremely reasonable and very competetive by comparison with others in the area. He even recommended to us a fantastic videographer, Jason Chesebrough of Video Quest Productions, whom we also wholeheartedly recommend. For us, it was important that we have a good relationship with our vendors, particularly our photographer, and we are so very lucky to have found someone we met and respected as a professional and now consider a friend. Steve's competent and efficient demeanor combined with his relaxed attitude and casual sense of humor makes him, in our opinion, the perfect wedding photographer. We can unequivically and without reservation recommend him for any event.

was 45 minutes late and still ended up charging us extra for staying an hour late at the end of the night. It was a frustrating experience. The photos came back 2 weeks later than he originally anticipated which was disappointing, but they are gorgeous. There were some key shots he missed, but I believe it was my fault for not giving as much direction. He rolled with the punches and improvised when all our portrait spots were rained out. I love the photos and I'm happy with the service, overall. We got married in January and received a discount which made the package very reasonable for the quality. He shot our wedding in Sacramento despite being located in Reno and charged no travel fee. He also shot a friend's wedding two months later and she was very pleased and her photos were lovely.

I want to clarify a few of the comments left here.I was not 45 minutes late. I showed up 30 minutes early at the place stated on the contract. When I arrived, nobody was there but the DJ, the groom and venue staff. Nobody could tell me where the bride was getting ready, so I began to photograph the groom.Somebody finally told me the bride was getting ready in the building next door. When I met her, everybody was still in street clothes and the bridesmaids had just started making bouquets. I couldn't have missed much.I charged her for an additional hour because I stayed for an additional hour. Dinner ran long, and my time was up when it ended. I discounted the extra hour for her to be nice. They did not want to pay for me to shoot the entire reception, which is why some shots might be missing.She received her photos within the timeline agreed upon in the contract, which is one month.

If you are looking for a professional photographer who will capture your wedding photo-journalist style, I would highly recommend Steve. For me, Steve captured the feeling of the day instead of posing people like fruit in a basket. However, if you are looking for overly formal, formal staged photographs, look elsewhere.
Having photographed weddings myself, I am so glad we chose Steve & highly recommend his company.

away his website as one of my favorites. We decided not to book with a photographer, but then changed our mind a few months later because of the great portfolio that he has on his website.
Our wedding goal was to try to keep things simple and enjoy the day. Steve was great in helping us accomplish that goal. He fit seamlessly in with our friends and family. At one point I remember being concerned that maybe he hadn't taken enough pictures because I didn't remember seeing him taking photos. But, we realized later when reviewing our tons of photos that it was because he's so great at fitting in!
Our photos are beautiful and it's wonderful that we have the disc for our memories. We have lots of candid shots of our ceremony and reception that would not have been captured otherwise. We would hire Steve and recommend him to anyone.

ecialty...he definitely has a gift in capturing a moment. But last minute I decided I would regret it if we didn't have any casual posed shots of the wedding party, and although I'm sure it was annoying for memo change the plan last minute, Steve was all too happy to oblige and did as great a job with those photos as with the candid shots.
I also really appreciated being able to get a DVD of all the shots from my wedding and choose my own to print, make a book and do with them what I wanted. The shots are beautiful, artistic and creative-they much exceeded our expectations and we will love looking at them forever!
We recommended Steve for our friends' wedding a few months after ours and he did a stellar job for this event, too. I would recommend Steve for any wedding where you want a fun, professional, skilled yet unobtrusive photographer!

includes candid and posed shots - he catches people in the moment and that is EXACTLY how I wanted to remember my wedding. He is very easy to work with - listens to what you want, gets the shot, and makes suggestions on how to make it even better. I think the best thing he did the day of the wedding was help manage my mother-in-law, as she had some specific ideas on how the photography should work, ideas that conflicted with mine :-) He was never in the way, and he captured some precious moments of that day. There is one particular picture of my husband and I stealing a kiss in the fields of the winery that I just love.
One brilliant thing that Steve offers is a disk of all the photography, which was very important to me. I wanted the ability to print pictures when needed without having to go back to the photographer to make sure they still had the shots. Again - so easy to work with.
Steve is a fantastic photographer and I would hire him again in a heartbeat. We consider him our family photographer, not just our wedding photographer.
