About this vendor
My style is a blend of artful documentary coverage and relaxed portraiture. I prefer a hands off approach for the most part, with limited posing. My goal is to create natural, yet captivating images. The focus is on telling the story of your day as it unfolds, candidly, genuinely.

I’m so glad we booked with Steven! Our photos are absolutely stunning. Every time we look through we pick another favorite. He captured every single detail- scripted or not! In add...
ition to the amazing photographs he was fantastic to work with from start to finish and made the planning and the day so easy. I can’t say enough about Steven and I recommend him to everyone and anyone.
Thank you so much!
I cannot say enough good things about Steve and our experience with him as our photographer. He was a perfect professional from the very beginning, actually calling me in response ...
to my inquiry vs. emailing me back as so many other photographers did. Steve made a point to really get to know us as a couple and individuals, which helped make working with him so effortless. My husband was not looking forward to the photo aspect of our wedding day, but was in awe of how easy Steve made it for both of us and how much fun we all had together. Steve captured each and every detail, moment and feeling of our day. I would recommend Steve to anyone and everyone.
I looked at so many different photographers, but as soon as I saw Steve's work I knew he'd be perfect for our wedding. From the day we booked him to the day of the wedding he was a...
complete joy to work with. He knew our venue well (Inn on Peaks Island) and worked with the other vendors seamlessly which made planning the day so much easier. He is such an amazing photographer and was the perfect combination of traditional and artsy that we were looking for. I can't recommend Steven enough! He had our pictures to us within 2-3 weeks which was awesome! The pictures far exceeded our expectations. Thank you Steve!

Long before Kim and I got engaged we knew that when we finally got married we wanted Steve to capture it for us. As the owner of a local entertainment company we've had the uniqu...
e opportunity to work alongside Steve on a number of occasions. Over the years Kim and I have followed his work and we've always been blown away by the images he's able to capture. Steve's ability to adapt to the lighting environment he's working in has always stood out to me. But, above that I've always been amazed at Steve's ability to capture candid moments in their sincerest fashion.
So, when it came time for our wedding we knew without a doubt that Steve was going to knock it out of the park. And, he did. We met with Steve during the planning process to discuss the photos we wanted and the locations we'd use to capture them. Steve listened to our ideas, offered input of his own and together we came up with an itinerary that flowed seamlessly. The day of our wedding Steve was attentive and always working hard to capture every detail. There is an art to the work Steve does yet he pulls it off effortlessly. My favorite part of looking at our photos after the wedding was how many times we said 'we didn't even know Steve was there for that.' Steve really does allow you to go about your day in a natural way. I think most people fear having a camera in their face for an entire day. We never felt that way with Steve.
Based on all the photos we've seen through the years working with Steve, Kim and I had really high expectations. Not only did Steve meet our expectations but he far exceeded them. We now have stunning photos to share with our family and friends and we'll always have the ability to re-live our wedding day because of the work Steve's did. Kim and I can't thank you enough. We couldn't be happier with the quality of our images, the photos you took and the way you captured our day for us. Thank you, Steve!
We used Steven based on a recommendation of a friend of a friend. I am SO glad that we did. Steven was awesome from start to finish and absolutely captured the essence of the day. ...
His range of expertise was amazing and really showed in the photos!
Steve was amazing! He was there for way longer than we originally paid for and the photos turned out wonderfully! Particularly the photo booth ones, which are always a bit hit or m...
iss - ours were all hits! Both Steve and his assistant were professional, patient and very creative and have given us some awesome memories of our big day! Worth every penny and then some.
Steve is a fantastic guy/photographer. He works with the couple to truly make the experience everything you envision.
We found our photographer Steven Fairfield by viewing photos he took of a wedding a mutual friend was in on Facebook. After visiting his website, we knew Steve's style of photograp...
hy was what we were looking for. He was excellent to work with- very quick to respond to emails, flexible and willing to travel and very personable. We booked an E-session with him a few months before the wedding and it immeditately made us realize we had picked the perfect photogrpaher. On the day of the wedding he managed to fit in all of our requested shots (all 3 pages of them!) in addition to setting up his own shots. But it was all the shots he captured that we never even knew he took that impressed us the most. He was always in the right place and caught those moments that might have been lost had he not been there. He was also quick to post photos on his Facebook page- and our full order was ready within 3 weeks (900+ photos). We should also mention that we booked his "Photo Booth" as part of our package-- and we HIGHLY reccomend this!! Its not a traditional "booth" so you can fit up to 10 people in the picture. Plus the camera is professional grade and we couldn't believe how NICE the photos were. He also brings some really great props--we are still laughing at the hundreds of photos of our family and friends. Bottom line-- Steve is an amazing photographer... book him NOW before he fills his next wedding season schedule!!
I cannot express how much I LOVE my wedding pictures taken by Steven Fairfield. He showed up around 1pm at the hair salon to meet my bridemaids and I and the fun didn't stop the e...
ntire day! He is very creative and used the beautiful and unique surroundings of our venue to take stunning pictures. He also captured so many amazing moments of our reception in perfect quality pictures. They colors of the reception are clear and crisp! I would recommend Steve 100%.
We met Steve for an engagement shoot in October of 2011 and we knew we were in luck for our wedding in June, 2012. Steven Fairfield Photography did not disappoint! Steve and his ...
assistant are SO much fun to work with. He has such an eye for artistic moments that happen in every-day life you wouldn't get to see without the camera. Even though there are a boatload of photos from our wedding day, we can't stop going through them!
I found Steve through an online search as I was planning long distance for a wedding in Maine from New York City and am not from the area. From the beginning, he was always quick ...
to respond to emails (a big deal in my book!) and was always very friendly and courteous. Besides going through his online portfolio, he also took the opportunity to meet with us in person a few months before the wedding (we were in Maine for a few days) to go through his work and ideas with us. On the day of the wedding, Steve did an amazing job of making everyone feel very comfortable with having their photo taken. We had a fun time with him during our session after the ceremony, and his presence is a true part of our memory of the day. He was on the dance floor with our guests, finding flashes of smiles on babies, stolen looks and kisses, and was outside at dusk grabbing us at just the right moment to capture some amazingly colored skies. When we look at all of the photos, we are able to see what a wonderful job he did of helping the loving spirit of our friends and family shine through in the photos. He is a true professional and an amazing artist!
Steve Fairfield is an absolute genius behind the camera. Our venue was wall-to-wall windows. Our ceremony began at 4 PM and it was dark outside by 6 PM. We had a lighting compan...
y create the ambience inside. This made for some tricky low-light with the complication of reflections from all the glass. Steve had absolutley no problem with the low-light or window reflections. In fact, he used these conditions to create some truly amazing photos. It was clear that he had experience with these conditions already and knew exactly how to produce great photos in these circumstances.
Steve is also very professional. He asked that we provide him groups of people (for group shots) and a timeline of the day's events ahead of time so he could get everything organized. He conveyed to us exactly what he was planning and asked for our input which gave us a lot of confidence.
Steve is extremely patient. Group photos can be accompanied by a lot of chaos and Steve had no problem with this stress. When an elderly relative decided he wanted a shot of one of the groups at the same time Steve was taking the shot, not only was Steve understanding, but he even took a shot with the man's camera for him.
Steve has artistic and creative ability that is second to none. As he took shots of us, he asked that we pose certain ways, looked at certain angles and used the surroundings to create remarkable photos. He has vision that allows his pictures to come out completely stunning. It snowed at our wedding and Steve's ideas of how to capture the moment with the falling snow were genius.
We couldn't be happier with the both the experience and the photos by Steve. He is truly a professional and the quality of his work speaks for itself. We would recommend him to anyone.
Finding an amazing wedding photographer was one of my highest priorities in the planning process. I must have contacted and researched several photographers and was about to book ...
with one when I fell upon Steve’s work. I was immediately drawn into his photographs because they told a story and showed so much emotion. When Steve and I corresponded throughout the year of planning he was always quick to respond to any questions I had. We met Steve the day of our engagement shoot and my husband and I were both completely blown away with the experience. He was open to our ideas, but also guided us when we saw a great photo opportunity. Steve is very professional, experienced and an easy going guy that gets the job done, and done really well. After seeing our engagement photos we had no doubt our wedding photos would be amazing…and they are. He managed to be invisible throughout the entire wedding day but somehow capture so many wonderful moments. We also booked his photo booth at the last minute and I’m so happy we did. For our guest, it was one of the biggest highlights of the evening, and the photo booth pictures are priceless; aunts and uncles wearing crazy hats and glasses, posing with friends from college and high school. It’s hilarious and I’m so happy we added it to our reception. Of all the photographers I researched, I’m so happy we chose Steve. His beautiful work is something we’ll look back on for years to come.
Steve was wonderful from start to finish. He was able to instill confidence in the process from the very beginning. He came to our site to take a look before the wedding to make ...
sure we felt prepared. During the wedding you barely saw him but, he was everywhere. We decided to add a photo booth last minute and the pictures are priceless. With the photo booth you have pictures very soon after the wedding. My husband and I enjoyed being able to see the fun people had before the professional pictures were available. When we received the rest of the pictures we were blown away. Steve took so much care in the photography that he really felt like a friend taking pictures with us, not at all posed or staged. I would absolutely recommend Steven Fairfield Photography to every couple who truly wants an amazing photographer.
Steve is a rising star among photojournalist photographers. We are elated with our wedding's storytelling images, made possible only because of his dedication and professionalism....
We are grateful for his fulfillment in capturing the energy, actions and reactions creating cherished photo vignettes.
