Our wedding at Stone Manor Inn was truly magical, and we are so grateful we chose this venue. There were a few bumps along the way, but overall the experience and the day itself we...re everything we hoped for and more.
Communication varied throughout the planning process. About six months out, the response time was not as quick as we would have liked, especially because we were doing so much DIY and needed specific details like measurements and inventory. That made some planning a bit more challenging. In the final one to two months before the wedding, communication improved dramatically. Every question was answered promptly, thoroughly, and kindly, which mattered most when the day was approaching. Even without a full planning package, our day-of coordinator Erin was wonderful. She provided guidance, helped shape our timeline without being overbearing, and made us feel supported but still in control.
The staff throughout the weekend was fantastic. They were warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. Erin in particular struck the perfect balance of being present when we needed her but never hovering. We felt genuinely cared for. The only small hiccup was during the rehearsal dinner when our group overwhelmed the bar staff at first, but after that moment everything settled into a smooth and lovely experience.
The venue itself is stunning. We chose Stone Manor for the forest ceremony space, and it exceeded every expectation. It felt enchanting, romantic, and exactly the natural setting we dreamed of. The manor house, with its artistic and eclectic charm, created a fun atmosphere for cocktail hour. The tent reception area provided a blank canvas that we personalized using mainly our own DIY decorations with some additional items from their inventory. It all came together so beautifully. Our guests could not stop talking about how magical the ceremony felt.
Amenities were overall great. The bridal getting-ready suite was enormous and had everything we needed, including a huge bathroom, plenty of seating, and space for hair and makeup. The groom’s room was smaller but perfectly fine for what we needed. Breakfast on the wedding morning was a lovely surprise. The gourmet pancakes, fresh pressed juice, bacon, and parfaits made the morning feel luxurious and special. The next morning’s breakfast, however, was surprisingly sparse for a bed-and-breakfast. It included a bit of fruit, bread, and jam. This felt like a mismatch, especially since we booked the whole inn for our wedding party.
In terms of value, the venue is definitely on the pricier side for the area and season. Much of it felt worth it, such as the location, the staff, and the ceremony space. A few details did not feel as polished as the price point might suggest. However, none of those things affected the actual wedding day in a major way.
There were also several small add-on items that felt like they could have been included in the main package rather than offered a la carte. Things like the champagne cart, having the fire pit lit during the reception, and the sandwich bar for the wedding party while getting ready all came with additional costs, along with a number of other small options we chose not to add. None of these were major expenses on their own, but it felt like including them in the overall price would have elevated the experience and made the value feel more aligned with the cost of the venue. Many of these touches were low-cost but high-impact, and bundling them into the package could make the offering feel even more special for future couples.
The day-of execution was excellent. The timeline flowed smoothly, and we were kept on schedule with gentle reminders and flexibility when it mattered. They handled the setup of tables, chairs, and linens. We handled our décor and florals ourselves, which may be standard but is useful for future couples to know. Cleanup of food and drink was handled by the staff the next morning, but we were responsible for all of our decorations.
Vendors were easy to work with. The venue was flexible and never strict about who we brought in. They recommended some options, and we appreciated having those suggestions even though we did not end up using them. One challenge was that a partner property they initially offered discounted rates for changed ownership halfway through, and the discount was no longer honored. It was not fully the venue’s fault, but a bit more communication during that transition would have helped us avoid scrambling.
Food and catering were overall delicious. They prepared everything we asked for, including Yorkshire pudding, which they absolutely nailed. Our entrée dishes had great flavor, and cocktail hour items like the samosas were a hit. There were a few surprises, such as during our rehearsal dinner which they also catered, the chicken parm was served with salsa instead of marinara, and during the wedding ceremony, the open bar ran out of some alcohol before the end of the night. The champagne cart for the bridal party was a lovely touch, although the crackers may have been prepared too early and were stale. Still, it added to the fun of the morning.
Cleanliness and condition of the property were consistently good. We had no concerns at all.
What truly stood out was the feeling of the ceremony. It was serene, emotional, and incredibly beautiful. The forest was breathtaking, and it felt like our exact vision came to life. Our guests are still talking about it.
In final thoughts, we would choose Stone Manor again, especially for the ceremony and the day-of experience. If we were to do it again, we might not book the whole weekend simply because of the added cost and the early check-out. Our contract led us to believe the cleanup time was later, so learning closer to the wedding that we needed to be out by 10 AM made the morning more hectic than expected. Staying the wedding night itself was lovely and absolutely worth it. Booking the Friday night is something we might reconsider. However, since we had a lot of décor to set up, we are not sure if renting the space both days without staying overnight was even an option.
Overall, we would definitely recommend Stone Manor Inn to future couples. The beauty of the venue, the caring team, and the magic of the ceremony space made our wedding truly unforgettable.
