Lovely garden for an event!! We hosted a wedding there and it was absolutely wonderful! Both the ceremony and reception were in the garden and we couldn't have been more pleased with how well everything went and how beautiful it was both during the daytime and evening. We started with a tea ceremony for the immediate families to share marriage wishes and advice for the couple. Then we had the ceremony by the smaller pond with two musicians setup overlooking the water from the tea house deck. Under the tree canopy, with the lovely music, and the pond and waterfall flowing, it was idyllic. For the reception we had dancing under twinkling lights on the bluff above the pond and on the other side we created an outdoor living room with comfy sofas and rugs for guests to gather, eat and visit with lanterns hanging in the trees. We had tables in both areas as well. It was lovely to have people move about around the smaller pond with the lanterns reflecting and it allowed everyone to be able to easily see all the activity but also find places to visit while others were dancing. It was really magical!
The venue was one of my favorite parts of my whole wedding. It was gorgeous, intimate, private and magical. I wish it was my backyard, it's seriously SO beautiful. We had 72 guests and it felt like just the right amount of people. I feel like 55-85 is the perfect count for the venue - if you have more guests, like 100 or more, it'd probably be too cramped. Def worth checking out though, it's a true gem!!
We were so lucky to find a gorgeous and affordable venue for our wedding at Storrier Stearns. We literally just plunked chairs down and had a stunning wedding ceremony -- no decoration needed in a space like that.
Deanie, the site manager, was very accommodating of our visits and questions and was very understanding of the chaos on our wedding day.
As the venue is small and weddings aren't its full-time business, there was a need to contract externally for anything we needed, and sometimes response times were slightly slower than at a larger venue. But it's a trade off to have such an intimate and cost-effective venue.
Keep in mind in particular that valet parking is required and not included.
