We never saw her again in person after the engagement photo session. When we asked why they were keeping $800, Tosha said that there was a retainer fee of $500 to hold our wedding day that was non-refundable. Nowhere in the contract did it specify ANY AMOUNT for the retainer fee. She basically came up with the fee when we agreed to part ways due to the pandemic situation. When we further questioned and stated we didn't think it was fair to keep that much money she went on to say that she had kept our photos on her website for a couple months, and that her husband the DJ also had just started to look for the songs we requested to be played to make sure he had them downloaded. Tosha uses Pass Gallery to load your photos to and keep online for a while. They have several options for membership. One is COMPLETELY FREE and the others are $15/month or $29/month. We are almost positive she uses the free version because she deletes the photos after a short while whereas if she had the $29/month membership she can upload unlimited photos and have unlimited storage. So where is the justification to keep an extra $500 if you store the photos online for free and your husband had to search for I believe a total of five actual requested songs? It's just plain ridiculous and greedy if you ask me. She stated in her response to my wife that she offered a credit in the amount of the retainer fee to us. Well, if you're willing to credit the retainer fee in terms of services that add up to that amount equally, why not just give us our money back?!!!

inesses. We were set to get married on May 2, 2020. Postponing our wedding was just not in our cards. We decided to move forward with an intimate wedding ceremony with family in the backyard of our home instead with only immediate family only. At first, Story & Rhythm were okay with everything, they even sent us an email first to say they would support us with whatever. We did not change anything with the contract and still wanted to use the photography and DJ package we had previously requested. That’s when emails were no longer being answered within 48 hours, but instead 4-5 days. The last email we received, it stated that they would be changing things around while this pandemic was ongoing: only Tosha and Brian would be allowed to use the microphone, Tosha would not go into my home and stated she would do everything outside, even getting ready photos and getting into the dress, and my guests could not make any on the spot music requests during our day. She also asked if we would have preventative measures such as masks and hand sanitizers. I responded that we of course would have preventative measures but that we would just forgo the DJ at that time - because my guests or even us could not use the microphone or make music requests? These are all normal practices that could be sanitized and still be done 6ft apart. This was mid April at this point and we are trying to replan our day and they were not responding to our emails anymore. So I decided to call on April 15, 2020. They did not answer at first but later called me back. Tosha went around the bush that she “didn’t know,” “I’ve been really praying about it,” “I just don’t know,” “how are things going at work?” “have you guys been exposed?” These are all normal questions, but the fact that she could not say that she did not want to any longer be a part of our day and do our photography services was disheartening. Tosha first said she would just come for 2 hours and take the important shots, I was actually fine with that because all I wanted was a few photos of our day. We had already paid more than half of our fees to them early, so they had $1500 from us. She said the $1500 you paid would be fine. WHAT? We were originally going to pay $2610 for an engagement session, 8 hours of photography and 5 hours of DJ TOGETHER, now she wants to take $1500 for just an engagement session shoot and 2 hours of services? How does that add up to $1500? Then she went back to “well I just don’t know” and “ahh, I don’t know.” She made ME say that “if you feel uncomfortable, we understand and are okay if you don’t want to do it” meaning that WE “cancelled” when in fact she was just baiting us to pull the trigger to cancel so they could keep our deposit. She immediately went to well the $500 is a retainer and per the contract is nonrefundable and the engagement session is $300 so we will keep $800 and refund you guys $700. How is that fair? THIS is what this pandemic has come to, and I want to let everyone know that they are keeping $800 of our hard earned money and leaving us 2 weeks before our special day without a photographer. They even made us sign a cancellation contract before they would send back the $700 refund to cover themselves. They also just cut off the reviews on their facebook after my honest post! BEWARE!

I spoke with Brian he listened to my needs and asked lots of questions. The day of the wedding was awesome we had a outdoor ceremony in downtown Charleston and Brian played all the songs we requested and added his own playlist. Immediately into the the reception he got my guests on the dance floor and he kept the music flowing. Even when it started raining he transitioned indoors and it did not stop the party. Thank you so much for making this special day memorable.

ures I was left in tears. She truly captures every moment you could ask for and doesn’t rush you through by giving 30 minutes here or there or charging extra if you run over. She took her time with us - letting us not only get the pictures we wanted but ensuring we enjoyed the moment of being the silly engaged couple. To make things even better - she was so very patient with our family and friends who joined in on photos! The icing on the cake was that we never waited weeks or months for our pictures - we had them back so very quickly!! Thoughout the entire process Tosha became a friend and I’m truly going to miss working with her!! As for Brian the DJ - we weren’t picky with music nor could we give a solid direction of what we wanted. However he asked us the greatest questions to determine what we wanted and delivered the BEST dance party! ALL of our friends were saying how great he was and that they had wished they had someone like him for their wedding. Long story short - we had a blast and quite a memorable reception. All in all you can’t go wrong with using this fun loving couple. They are the sweetest and will ensure you have not only a great product but the most wonderful experience.
