With a history dating back to the early 20th century, Story Hill Firehouse is filled with warmth & character. From its gorgeous outdoor green spaces to its experienced & passionate event staff, Story Hill Firehouse could be the perfect place to host your wedding day celebration.
Facility and Capacity
The historic bungalow-style firehouse can accommodate up to 150 of your friends and family. When you rent the firehouse, you’ll be given exclusive access to the entire "one of a kind" venue, from the lush outdoor space to the firehouse itself.

The Story Hill Firehouse staff will go above and beyond to provide your big day with everything you’ll need to realize your wedding dreams. Couples can rest easy knowing that they won’t have to worry about renting folding chairs or dining tables from a third-party vendor, as they’ll find them at this historic firehouse. The Story Hill Firehouse also offers a custom-built bar and bartending services that are bound to satisfy all of your guests.
HIstory
Story Hill Firehouse was built in 1927 as one of five bungalow-style firehouses in the city of Milwaukee. The building was in operation until 1998, when a new firehouse was built in the area. They opened in July 2019 as a new event venue with all it's historic charm!

Story Hill FireHouse was the perfect venue for our September wedding! From the moment we met with Amy, Event Manager, to discuss the venue, we knew that we made the correct choice....
The space was the right fit for our under 100 wedding and it provided a variety of unique ways to customize our wedding.
The staff was friendly, easy to work with, and the bartenders were wonderful. We had a lot of non-alcoholic drinkers at our wedding and they made specialty drinks on the menu for us!
Our ceremony was held in the courtyard and we were able to repurpose our lantern decor in the reception hall. The traffic noise wasn't an issue and there was a nice amount of shade for a warm day.
We also rented the bride and groom suite which provided us more time to get everything set up. We also utilized indoor lights to provide a glow for our wedding along with lanterns that the venue helped hang from the ceiling.
Amy was there to help us through the whole wedding process and the day of our wedding. She was helpful with getting our vendors what they needed day of and made the day seamless for us to enjoy our wedding.

We used the green space next to the building for the ceremony and with were it is placed, the traffic from Hawley was quieted down. We rented the Edison lights to use which was a beautiful touch to the engine bay. We had plenty of room for 11 tables and then when dancing started they opened up the big doors and brought the party outside. In addition, we rented their trolley to use for our guests at a near by hotel and everyone loved it.
Bar service was great! The bartenders were amazing and did a great job with keeping the drinks flowing. We did an open bar for four hours with beer, wine and call liquor. We also had two speciality drinks available for our guests, and we did a dinner wine per my dad’s request.

the one for us! As it turns out, we made a great decision – we’re still getting compliments on the venue four months later! Story Hill Fire House was very fairly priced, especially for a Friday night, and both Janelle and Amy, as well as their staff, were responsive, professional, and went above and beyond what was advertised. The space is warm and inviting and strikes the perfect balance between formal and relaxed. It’s beautiful enough that we didn’t need to spend an arm and a leg on flowers and decor, and the fun Milwaukee history was right up our alley as a couple! It is a little smaller than many local venues, but we liked it enough that we chose to do a cocktail style reception rather than a seated dinner just so we could fit 150 people in the space. We held our ceremony at our church, so we did not need this service, but we have no doubts that they would’ve pulled off a ceremony and “flipping” the space with no issues had we needed it. Additionally, we were a little worried about street parking, but it ended up being a complete non-issue. In all, we loved hosting our wedding reception at Story Hill Fire House, would recommend it to anyone, and would absolutely host another event here in the future!
