We loved his attention to detail and how he even took us out for drinks before our big day to run through the wedding schedule and ask us specifics on what we were looking for in our video. Words cannot describe how spectacular it was to have Jim capture our special day. He is literally AMAZING. My sister & I grew up obsessed with our parents' wedding video. We loved seeing & hearing the voices of family members past & present. Seeing the captured details you just don’t get in a typical wedding photography album. Feeling like we were there ourselves, even though we weren’t even born yet. My (now) husband and I are so happy we hired Streetcar Studios to produce our wedding video! Jim was great to work with before, during and after our wedding. He asked (and listened) to what was important to us and the final product reflects that. We look forward to watching it at least once a year. Streetcar Studios is INCREDIBLE. I saw one of Jim's videos many years ago, and I knew that I wanted to have him do my wedding video someday. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming to say the least. Jim is very experienced and makes things so simple. Before wedding day, we got to talk to Jim on the phone. He asked us a few questions to ensure that he captured our vision for the day. On wedding day, he arrived early and got everything set up. We almost forgot he was there. He worked so well alongside our photographer. We were so excited to get our video, and it did not disappoint! It was exactly what we had hoped for! The mic makes such a huge difference... There were so many moments that you miss as a bride, and I am so thankful that it was all captured so that I could watch later on. He also understood our sense of humor and captured our personalities perfectly. Not only was the highlight clip amazing, the ceremony and toasts were way more than we expected. We did not realize that Jim was editing those as well, and they turned out so amazing! He captured our day from so many different angles all at once, and our video will be something we cherish forever. Brock and I would highly highly recommend Streetcar Studios! If you are on the fence about hiring a videographer, it is 100% worth it!!!!!

I cannot put into words how grateful we are for Jim and his team. Our wedding video is the most beautiful representation of our day and something we will cherish forever. He went above and beyond to discuss what was important to us to include in our video and helped make those dreams come true.

You will not regret hiring Jim! He works to have a relationship with his couples before, during, and after that wedding! When my husband and I were looking for a videographer Jim was so helpful, detail oriented, and made sure everything was set. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, and this was one of the least stressful parts of the day. He made sure he knew what my husband and I were looking for, and captured those important moments. When the video was done he made sure to email and call to check in, and if we needed to make any changes. I never felt like I was just a client, but a bride who got to work with a special videographer and bring my day to life. Just recently I thought I lost all of my video clips. Had a panic attack and was taking full responsibility. I reached out to Jim and he STILL had everything. It’s now backed up on several hard drives, but he rescued the day when I thought it was lost. Video clips are very large files, so I was prepared for the thought they were deleted. But no, thank goodness it wasn’t. Jim had them all! So my husband and I can relive the day. Thank you so much Jim. If you hire him you will not regret it. Personable. Easy communicator. Great storyteller. And finds the best way to create videos that showcase the couple.

Jim is simply the greatest. You will not find another videographer who is more enthusiastic about your big day. (In fact, we wish we would have hired him for our rehearsal dinner as well.) Jim was very communicable and responsive. He answered thousands of our questions and was always willing to chat! He was very upfront about what his package included and when we could expect our final product. OUR VIDEOS WERE PERFECT. Jim is beyond talented! We were blown away by his highlight reel! He captures literally everything - sound, aerial footage, bloopers, sentimental moments, speeches, everything!!! And tells the story of the day impeccably. We asked he make a small adjustment to our 30 sec social media content and he did it so quickly, without hesitation. We would absolutely work with him again, and cannot recommend him enough.

It's hard to know where to start with Jim and his excellent work. I found his work through TheKnot when I was browsing for videographers. I felt like I was looking through other's work that looked 'the same.' But then I was immediately drawn to Jim's work when I watched his video work. I was drawn to his work because of his storytelling, the authenticity he captures, and how eloquently he pieces the day together in a beautiful, timeless way. He captures real-life interactions in an exceptional way- the way my mother laughs, how my bridesmaids danced the night away with me, and how sweet my husband and how it feels when he looks at me. He knows how to balance the sweet, vulnerable moments with the joyful, exciting, hilarious, and breathtaking moments. He and his team were so coordinated (we had his services for both photography and videography), that we almost forgot they were there during the ceremony and reception. All of his team members were friendly, efficient, and great at their jobs. His work is absolutely worth the wait- and it's obvious why he's in such high demand. His work isn't like everyone else's- it's classic, artful, and beyond any dream you could hope for your most important moments of your life. Jim was very communicative with planning and nailing down what my goals were for the wedding day and pinning down what were the most important things to me. Again- Jim was a dream to work with, and our videos and photos truly speak for themselves.

You can stop looking for a videographer...Jim is the BEST! I keep telling my husband I wish we could get married EVERY year...and I would hire Jim again and again, a thousand times over! Right away he showed a real interest in getting to know us as a couple so that he could find the theme of the video. He met with us several times, listened to our ideas, and offered several suggestions for us on a variety of things - and not just wedding video related. He is personable and communicative - he was very attentive throughout the planning process as well as on the big day. Jim got there before any other vendors and he stayed past the other vendors - when you pay for the "whole day", you TRULY get Jim and his crew for the WHOLE day. It was amazing! I've only had our video for about 36 hours and I've already watched it at least 5 times...not to mention all of the other videos - including the entire ceremony and the toasts. The work he did is incredible - the images are beautiful and the extras that he added in (close ups of our decor, video of Crossroads outside our venue, etc.) truly make the film look like a Hollywood movie. I can't recommend Jim highly enough! When looking for a videographer, I wasn't sure what to look for or expect, but I remember being surprised by some of the slim offerings by other companies and people we spoke with. We went with Jim because we loved his personality AND because his package included everything we wanted - not just a highlight, but the entire ceremony and the entire toasts, Jim PLUS an assistant to capture more footage, and the full day filming. Jim delivers it all and then some! I can't wait to watch our video every year on our anniversary and to force our future children to do the same. It is gorgeous and really helps you to relive the day...which had been a true blur and I found myself not remembering much of it. So so glad that we found Jim and went with him. I'm so impressed and cannot say enough good things about him! We HIGHLY recommend hiring Jim for your wedding video - you will not be disappointed!

We hired Jim to be our wedding videographer and we couldn’t have been more impressed!! I cannot even begin to express how highly I recommend Jim from Streetcar Studios as a wedding videographer! His body of work on his website alone was convincing enough, and that was before my husband and I met with him during our wedding planning process. Jim is attentive to your needs and desires as a couple and is creative beyond reason. He is able to see the small moments of your day, and portray them as they are, the everyday actions that make your love with your new spouse so profound. Because of the high demand of weddings in 2021, it did take some time to receive the fully edited films (I received an 11 minute highlight video, full toast, and full ceremony edits). That being said, it was worth every dang day of that wait!!! I am so happy with the end result that I am writing this review immediately after viewing. I know that it is going to be treasured for decades to come. The process of finding a talented wedding videographer at a respectable, yet reasonable, price was long and arduous for me and my spouse. Let my review amongst many others be the reason yours isn't. Skip the headache and hire Jim for your special day!!!

Jim was everything we didn’t know we wanted in a videographer. He was kind and professional and gave us a clear picture of what to expect on our wedding day. He said we would hardly notice he was there and his goal was to create a story with his film. Jim kept his word. Our wedding highlight video displayed our personalities and our deep love for one another, flawlessly. As a same sex couple, it was very important to be treated as any other heterosexual couple and that’s what Jim did. Of all our vendors, Jim was the most communicative and responsive. We also really appreciated his transparency when telling us what to expect. There were no surprises (unlike some vendors)! Jim’s artistic eye when creating our video made us feel like he had known us for years! Highly recommend!

Worth every cent. I would echo the sentiments of all of the previous reviews. We could not have been more pleased with the final product. We knew from our first meeting with Jim that we were in experienced hands. It was one less thing on our planning plate. You will not be disappointed.

Jim is so freaking awesome!! We had our wedding celebration and renewal of vows in September 2021 and got married June 2020. We hired Jim as our videographer. Through all of the ups and downs of COVID, several postponements and the stress, Jim was always so helpful and so supportive. Jim actually filmed both of our weddings & incorporated both into our highlight video so beautifully. Our wedding video has been such a hit with our families and friends & my sister who’s getting married is now also going to use him because she was so impressed. He captured my husband and I’s wedding days a o perfectly. I can’t even explain how well he captured our personalities (you need to watch the videos on his site to see how well he does this). Jim was also super understanding about finding a payment plan that best worked for us, which meant the world with all of our postponements and such. We chose the video package with a second shooter + microphone on my husband + drone footage. Would highlyyyyy recommend the second shooter because they were able to get so many angles of each moment and nothing was missed. In addition, I’d also recommend getting your significant other mic’ed up. There were so many funny moments and commentary of the both of us throughout the day & it was incorporated into our video sooo well. Our families and friends who watched the video were crying and then laughing and then crying again while watching our video. We have probably now watched our wedding highlight video 100 times since we received it last week. Every time we rewatched it, we caught a new detail making the video so unique. And in addition to our highlight video, Jim also provided us with our toasts in full and the entire ceremony!!! So amazing. This being said, We would highly recommend Jim!!

We were on the fence about hiring a wedding videographer, but once we found Jim's work we knew we wanted him to help capture our day. He met with us over the phone multiple times to answer any questions, met with us in person closer to our event, and was so great at communication the whole time. On the day-of, we barely even noticed he was there - he's that good! He was so amazing to work with and he gave us a video that we're going to watch forever! We just watched our wedding video for the fifth time in a row, it was moving and emotional, made us smile and laugh out loud. We decided late in the game to have a videographer. With so much effort, planning, and anticipation that goes into the wedding- and then having it go by so quickly- having a videographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. And having Jim capture and create the wedding video - it’s hard to find the words to show our appreciation. He was incredibly friendly and thoughtful as we discussed the wedding over the phone. On the day of, we hardly knew he was there. There was obviously SO MUCH work that had to happen behind the scenes that went unnoticed. He captured our relationship in the most perfect way and curated the most special and fun moments of the wedding day. He is devoted to making the videos personal and touching. Our 5-star review is well earned.

Jim was very thorough and professional, starting with our initial meeting, through the wedding and production of the video. He managed to get a lot of really good shots, while blending into the event background. We hardly knew he was there unless he had to speak to us about something. The video was well-edited and he captured the atmosphere and emotion of our wedding remarkably well. We would recommend him to anyone.

Jim is the guy to hire if you want a raw, sincere, and genuine record of your day. I told him I wanted it to be funny (not cheesy) and he delivered just that! I shed a couple of tears but mostly I laughed my way through my video and can genuinely say it was the perfect representation of the day. He made sure to incorporate the most important parts after talking to my fiance and I, and I believe he really captured who we were as people and as a couple. Highly recommend 10/10.

If you are reading this review, BOOK JIM IMMEDIATELY! We got married in July 2020, aka summer of the virus. Jim communicated with me all throughout the uncertain spring and was on board for any changes we had to make. We ended up moving our wedding out of KC and to my hometown in rural MO, and our full catholic mass ceremony to outdoors in a tent. He went with the flow. I worried about a million things, but I never had to worry about what our video would be like. I knew he would deliver. He got our video to us just over a week after the wedding, and it far above exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful. It was so clear watching it that he had listened to everything I wanted. I told him what and who was most important, and he showcased those things with artistic story-telling beauty. He picked the best parts of our priest's homily, the speeches, and our audio to make the perfect background to the video. My favorite part was at the end he put little snippets-- sort of like bloopers, of my husband and I talking, me bossing people around (which is a big part of my teacher personality), and us chatting with our family. He captured our day in the exact way I wanted. I can't emphasize enough how much he made me feel HEARD. We will treasure the video forever, as will our families. Jim is a story-weaving artist, there is no other way to describe it. On top of all that, he was one of the more affordable videographers we found. He was worth every single penny and some.

Jim is hands down the best! He has a very unique style and I noticed it immediately. I never had much of a desire to hire a videographer until after I saw one of our fellow friends post their wedding video that he had shot. I emailed him immediately. Jim was not only professional, kind, and hilarious, he also made us feel comfortable every step of the way. So comfortable that we forgot we were mic’d up! It was such a pleasure working with him from the first email to our big day. Our video was completely us. It highlighted who we are individually and as a couple. Jim Barcus with Streetcar Studios without a doubt gets a positive review from my husband and I. We watched so many wedding reels from so many film companies and the moment we saw his work, we knew he was the artist for us. (Fate also had it that the first video of his we clicked was also at the same venue where we had our wedding, The Timber Barn at Red Weston Red Barn Farm! We also watched a handful of his other videos just to make sure we weren't being biased, bc the venue location is gorgeous) From our first phone chat, to meeting in person, it was clear that Jim was already invested in making sure our wedding would be documented in a way the best suited our needs. He asked a lot of questions getting to know us, as well what was most important to us when watching our wedding video. My husband planned a surprise performance for me, that he told Jim about to make sure was in the video, and sure enough it's there! With different angles to boot! Jim is an artist, and the time he took to edit our video is so evident, because our wedding video is so special, and capture so much of the joy we felt that day. He was also very clear when we would have the video by, so that we didn't have any false expectations of having it immediately. Jim gave us a 2-3 month time frame (we got married at the end of the summer, so he had a lot of weddings before us that he was completing) and he presented it to us before the 3 month mark, and just before our honeymoon. So it was perfect timing! If reading the amount of time from our wedding to receiving our video seems too long for you, please know that it is so worth it. The quality shows in allowing the space for Jim to really piece together a video that embodied our day, vs just mashing moments together. We are so happy we went with Jim and Streetcar Studios, and look forward to watching our video AT LEAST once a year on our wedding anniversary. And if you're reading this, congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and as much as you can, enjoy this planning process. We know it can get a bit daunting and trying at times, but hang it there. If you are looking for a wedding videographer in KC...RUN DON'T WALK to book with Jim at Streetcar Studios. By far our absolute favorite part of our wedding and worth every single penny. Jim is incredibly talented and completely blew us away with our highlight video. He is so easy to work with and genuinely cares about getting to know you before your big day so that he can customize a video based on what is most important to you. He went above and beyond to coordinate audio/video with our DJ/venue and other vendors- we did not have to worry a single thing the day of. I honestly hardly noticed he was there all day, yet he was able to capture every single moment so intimately. If I could do it all over again, Jim would be the first vendor I would call 10/10 times.

Jim did our wedding photos and video and we could not be any happier with how they turned out. His approach was top notch and they helped in setting up the timeline and everything that comes with it. In writing this review I find myself struggling to find the correct words to express my gratitude towards Jim and his efforts to make our wedding day perfect. My wife and I were very cautious with selecting a videographer, but our first meeting with Jim quickly put all our worries at ease. Jim was extremely aware and detailed every step of the way. At times it felt like he was the wedding coordinator (and I mean this in the most positive way possible), reaching out to our other vendors to ensure cohesiveness and all coordination possible was complete before the big day. Jim was very attentive to our personal opinions, concerns, emotions, and made sure to always have an open ear when we had questions. Jim captured our day in a way I never imagined possible. Every time we watch our video we can feel every emotion from that day rush to our hearts...it gives us butterflies! Jim was beyond professional and courteous!

Amazing, incredibly amazing. We first saw Jim’s videography skills when we watched our dear friends wedding highlight film. We knew he must be the best in the business when his video had us tearing up within 2 minutes, ha! He does incredibly meaningful work. We booked Streetcar studios for our wedding day, and it was a great experience throughout the process. We have decided it was one of the best investments we made in our wedding budget planning because his videos of our day will be the memories we can relive throughout our lives and share with our own family. Jim is attentive to every, single detail. His videography isn’t just a recording of the events, but a creative interweaving of all of the emotions, words spoken, laughs shared, love held throughout the day. I felt like we watched the movie trailer to our wedding day!!! He captures all the story and history of your relationship during meetings prior to the day, so you really feel like he is a part of the tribe for the big day! One of the reasons I chose Streetcar Studios was because the groom had a mic on for most of the day and that added something to the videos that many others were missing. Not to mention the outtakes at the end. I will never regret hiring a videographer and I think every couple who is on the edge should! We also feared that we wouldn't have many photos as we didn't allot ourselves much time, but we were wrong! I strongly recommend Streetcar Studios!

Jim went above and beyond what we thought a wedding photographer/videographer would do. We ended up deciding to not have a day of coordinator because Streetcar was so helpful in guiding our day and making sure we had enough time to celebrate with friends an family along with capturing all of great moments of the day.
