alked in feeling a little anxious. But the moment I stepped through the doors, all of that nervous energy melted away. The space is bright, airy, and peaceful, with an elevated yet relaxed vibe that immediately put me at ease.
What really set the tone was the warmth and kindness of the entire staff. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. There was only one other appointment happening at once in a completely separate part of the space, which made the experience feel intimate and unrushed. It never felt chaotic or overwhelming, just calm and focused.
Now let’s talk about Jimmy, my stylist, who was an absolute gem. Jimmy was genuine, thoughtful, kind, patient, and incredibly intuitive. He took the time to really listen to what I was envisioning—even things I didn’t know how to fully articulate—and somehow managed to pull the dress that I didn’t even know I needed. It wasn’t on my radar at all, but the moment I put it on, I felt it was the one. Jimmy made me feel confident, beautiful, and completely supported. I never once felt rushed or pressured. He allowed me to try on as many dresses as I needed, answered all my questions, and created such a calm and empowering experience.
Even with two energetic little flower girls at the appointment, the team was incredibly patient and welcoming. We ended the appointment with celebratory drinks, lemonade in a disco ball cup for the little ones, and popped the confetti to seal the moment.

Long story short, Strike has a no-return policy (like I’m sure most places do), & I purchased the “wrong” dress in the heat of the moment (it’s laughable now). Teresa & Jimmy were so incredibly understanding when I called later that same day to tell them about how I was feeling. I was emotional and feeling embarrassed, and they were so gentle and reassuring that we were going to find a solution and that everything would be okay. If it weren’t for their commitment to making sure I was feeling confident about my decision, I’d be out a pretty penny and a dress. I was able to go in the next day and choose the right dress (thank god). They let me take my time in both of the dresses I was torn between, I was able to FaceTime someone important to me, and they listened to me spew my thoughts out loud about the original dress I chose and the new one that in the end, was my absolute fav and right for me. I wouldn’t be laughing now had they not been so kind & helpful.
I had heard about strike from some friends who said I may not like it as much compared to the other traditional bridal boutiques in the area, and they couldn’t have been more wrong. I loved the styles of dresses that they carried. Some dresses were unique and “non-traditional”, but they advertise that so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. They also advertise that they are inclusive, something I felt throughout my entire experience. It felt so good to shop at a bridal store that makes woman feel beautiful in their own skin, and not a store that creates this picture/mold you have to fit.

I was able to take the dress I tried on, remove the sleeves, use a pattern from a different skirt, add panels under my arms so I don't get scratched, and lengthen the train to make a completely custom dress that was exactly what I wanted. She then instructed me to look at the rack while she called their sister Plus size store (Rare) to see if they had any openings. She claimed that Rare would have dress styles that would better suit my style. I was perplexed because I am a size 8, so why would she send me to a plus size store? I expected the owner Abby to be a bit more customer-centric and apologetic about the fact that they didn't have anything that I was looking for or even go the extra mile to offer up any new designs that they might have in the pipeline when they go to market. To my dismay, she was not apologetic at all and didn't seem to care. I left the store EXTREMELY disappointed and to think, I paid $25 dollars to book an appointment. It was a total waste of time.
